Chapter Sixteen
Tommy was about to pass out when his communicator goes off.
"Zordon, come in," he said into the watch like device.
"Tommy, we have an emergency and can't locate the other rangers," Zordon said urgently. "The Green Ranger is calling the Dragonzord. Once controlled he will use its powers for evil."
Tommy wanted to groan. He was hoping Zordon had some clue of where the others were. He could really use their help, especially after the news he just heard.
"I'll do my best to stop him, Zordon," he said not feeling completely confident.
"Be very careful, White Ranger and may the power protect you."
Tommy took another couple of steps forward before he loses his balance and falls. He felt sick to his stomach, but he also felt like he hadn't eaten in days. His body ached and his head was the worst of the whole thing. It was pounding like a hammer was bashing into his skull.
"What's wrong with me?" he groaned as he tried to walk again.
"Tommy, even though you feel weak, if you can manage to morph you will feel energized for a brief time," Zordon encouraged over the communicator.
Tommy thought it was a good idea and took out his morpher.
"It's morphin time," he said and transformed into the White Ranger.
He instantly felt better, like he just took a quick nap.
"Tommy, look out," Saba, his sword, called from his side. "The Wizard."
"So, White Ranger, are you ready to surrender?" The Wizard teased.
"Never," Tommy said standing proudly.
The Green Ranger appeared.
"Remember only one Tommy can survive," he said.
"What will it be you pitiful excuse for a Ranger," the Wizard taunted.
Tommy wasn't sure what to do. He knew that fighting them would make him feel weaker. He had to come up with a plan and quickly. He thought as fast as he could and it seemed as if it was only seconds. Maybe he could trick the Wizard into helping him find his friends.
"Well, I… I might surrender if you can send me to the same place as you sent my friends," Tommy said meekly.
"You wanna travel 200 years back in time?" The Green Ranger asked falling for the ploy.
"Yes, just what I wanted to know," Tommy said happily. His communicator went off. "I read you, Zordon. I hope you got good news."
"Yes, Tommy," his mentor said. "We located the other Rangers. Capture the Wizard's magic wand and use it to transport back in time to rescue them."
Tommy almost crowed in victory. He right kicked the wand from the Wizard's hand but could not grab it. The Green Ranger stopped him.
"Oh no, you don't," the Green Ranger said.
Tommy wasn't going to give up. He went for the wand again. He leapt over the Green Ranger's head and grabbed the wand from the ground.
"You of all people shouldn't underestimate me," Tommy said victorioysly.
He brought his communicator to his mouth.
"I got the wand," he told Zordon. "I'm on my way."
Tommy used the wand to transport himself back in time and to his friends.
