Chapter Seventeen

In the Past the Rangers ran all the way back to town, the giant rats at their heels. They didn't know what to do. They couldn't morph and they weren't sure if they should stand and fight. They didn't know how powerful the Wizard made the rodents. For all they knew the rats could be super strong as well as super big.

Aisha was in a near panic. Rocky was beside her, ready to defend her if one of the rodents targeted the Yellow Ranger. For once, Billy was at a lost. His smarts wasn't going to win out in this situation. Adam was determined to prove himself and protect Marissa and her town. And Kimberly was just frightened. She felt weak and lost. It seemed as all hope was lost. Then Tommy appeared.

"Hey, guys," the White Ranger said relieved to see his friends.

"Tommy," Kimberly exclaimed. She couldn't have been happier to see her boyfriend than she was at that moment.

"I'm so glad you guys are safe," Tommy said really wanting to go to the Pink Ranger and embrace her. "I've come to take you back. But we've gotta hurry. The Green Ranger has unleashed the Dragonzord on Angel Grove."

"What, wait," Kim gasped. "The Green Ranger?"

"The Wizard made a copy of me," Tommy explained. "He looks like me, he has my old Green Ranger powers, and he's evil."

"I knew you wouldn't have betrayed us," Kim said brightly.

Tommy smiled back under his helmet. He was happy that Kimberly had such faith in him.

"Come on, guys, let's go," he said holding the wand and preparing to send them all back to the future.

"But we just can't leave these people here with these giant rats running around," Aisha said finding her courage now that their leader was there.

"There's no time to deal with that now, Aisha," Tommy said with regret in his voice. He didn't want to leave the townspeople to defend themselves but he felt Angel Grove was in a bigger danger. "We'll come back and finish off these dirty rats."

"Come with us," Adam said to Marissa. "There's so much I want to show you."

"No Adam, this is my world," Marissa said. "You must return to yours and save your township. I will always remember you."

With that said she kissed his cheek as a final parting and Adam smiled sadly knowing it was goodbye.

Kimberly felt sorry for the Black Ranger. He had really fallen for the girl. It was rare to see him so smitten.

"Come on, Adam," Rocky said softly pulling the Black Ranger to join them over by the White Ranger.

"We gotta go," Billy said with sympathy in his voice.

"Come on," Kim said as the Rangers gathered together.

"Don't worry everyone," Tommy said to the townspeople. "We'll come back and take care of those rats."

Then he turned to his team.

"Ok, let's go," he said and the vanished from the past.
