Soon three months were gone and Kate found that her beautiful vacation had come to a sudden end.
"You know you could be the dairy queen?" Castle joked as Kate put the pumped milk into the fridge.
She glared at him and he flinched "Shut up Rick."
She decided to start leaving home at7:30 instead of her usual 6:00 and she actually felt rested. Becca had hardly been waking up more than 2 times a night so things were a bit better. Castle poured more of the pancake batter onto the skillet. He turned around and saw two shadows slowly creeping out into the living room, and he ran out in an angry manner.
"Alexis what the hell is going on? Why is he still here?" he shouted pointing towards a very much scared Ashley.
"Rick calm down or you'll wake Becca, but it was too late she could hear the cries through the monitor, and rushed up the stairs and smiled when she saw Martha walking out of her room.
"Martha could you deal with Becca I have to take care of that."
Martha nodded her head "Of course dear."
She started to walk back down the stairs.
"Dad I swear we just fell asleep." Alexis cried.
"Mr Castle we didn't do anything, we just fell asleep I promise."
But Castle was too fired up.
"Really when I share a room with ..."
"Finish that statement and you'll be sleeping in another room tonight." Kate cut him off.
He instantly shut up.
"They're responsible kids, Rick, Alexis should know how hard it is to raise a child, so I would hope she avoids that. Right Alexis and Ashley?"
"Yes Mrs Castle."
"Mom is right, I'm going into college next year, I can't afford to have a child now."
Kate nodded her head "Good case close." And she left to go bathe for work.

When she got to work that morning when she got there Ryan and Esposito were already there doing paper work.
"Hey boss." Ryan greeted
She put her bags on the desk. "Thanks guys."
"So how's Kbex?" Esposito asked.
"Oh she's great, the last time I saw her she was falling asleep in Martha's arms."
Then she headed to Montgomery's office.
"Sir."
"Yes, detective?"
" Just wanted you to know that I'm returning to work."
"Great detective, welcome back, how's my junior detective."
"She's great sir, healthy and grabbing at everything."
He laughed. "My daughters were the same way."
Then there was a knock at the door and it was Esposito.
"Uh sorry to interrupt but we have a case now sir."
"Ah okay Mrs Castle, You can go."

The crime scene felt so unfamiliar she was never on vacation for so long before. She ducked under the tape and continued into the apartment building and Lanie was there already there.
"Hey girl, welcome back."
"Hey, thanks Lanie." Then her cellphone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey sweetie, uh where's Becca's favourite blanket?"
"It's in the wash basket. Remember she spilled my drink on it."
"Oh okay bye, love you."
"Love you too."
"Is everything good?" Lanie asked when she returned.
"Yea, Rick was just asking for something."
"Oh so the victim was shot with a bb gun she died around 5 to 6 am this morning."
"Great thanks Lanie."
Esposito came to her flipping the pages on her note pad.
"Victim is 22 year old female named, Clara Macy she was found by her next door neighbour who was coming to borrow a cup of sugar, found the door opened and found Clara.

At lunch time Kate decided to call Castle.
"Hello?" He said his voice still husky from being woken up.
"Hey Mr. Mom, How's it going?"
"Great I just gave her a bath, fed her and now she's fast asleep. Have you eaten yet?"
He was always making sure that she was always fed.
"No not yet, Espo went to take lunch for Lanie he's bringing back a pizza."
"Okay, when are you coming home."
"Uh probably six thirty or seven more than likely seven."
Then Becca woke up wailing.
"Guess that's my Signal Bye."
"Bye."
She couldn't wait to get home.
