Thank you for all of your helpful reviews/ideas eventually the topic of Kate,s job will be brought back up, but not for a while.
Now on to the story.
Turned out it was the ex boyfriend he had invited her to go hunting as friends, he asked her if she could give him another chance and she said she didn't want to and he shot her, and that was yet another young life lost to murder.
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
They were given the weekend off and Kate couldn't wait to spend the quality time with her family, well at least with Rick and Becca, Alexis was at a Math convention for the next two weeks and Martha was rehearsing for a play for the next two months.
She woke up the next morning at seven she turned to face the sleeping person who was spooning her she smiled and admired his peaceful face with a small smile his even breath and occasionally he would move his lips like he was talking, it reminded her of the first time she woke up next to him she was so nervous... suddenly her thoughts were suddenly disturbed by an arm tightening around her waist.
"You know when ever I stare at you, you call me creepy but when you stare at me I call it cute." He gave her a long kiss that probably would have led to something more if Becca hadn't start to talk over the baby monitor.
Kate sighed and Castle got up.
"I'll get her."
He walked into the nursery where Becca was kicking her long tiny legs and grabbing for her soother.
"Good morning my peach." For some reason or another Castle decided to associate all of his children to orange food."
Becca gave him a gummy smile, he changed her pamper first before heading back to Kate.
"Hi Rebecca, how was your sleep?" Kate cooed and Becca answered with a squeal and grabbed at Kate's chain.
"I was thinking that we could go for a walk after breakfast." Castle suggested.
"Yea sure it would be nice for Becca to get some fresh air."
Castle nodded his head. "You know what I just remembered? It's exactly 4 months since Becca was born."
"Oh yea, Happy 4 months birthday Becca." But Becca was too busy trying to put the sheet in her mouth to notice.
And Castle left the mother and daughter alone while he went to prepare breakfast.
"Well while daddy's doing that let's give you a bath." She filled up the tub and set up the towels, powder, lotion and some fresh clothes.
She put Becca into the tub and she hit the water and giggled when she saw her soaking wet mother.
"When you're bath is over I'm going be soaked from head to toe." She stated to lather her with the soap and she noticed the small birth mark on Becca's ankle something she had inhabited from Johanna.
She shook off the memories as well as the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes her mother was gone, she would never get to meet Rick or Alexis or Becca, she had always wanted to be a grandmother. She would never see how much she had settled down since she had left college or how happy she was now.
She didn't even notice the tears that had fallen from her eyes, she wrapped Becca with the towel and went to dress her and as usual Becca eyes started to close down and by the time she had finished dressing her, she was fast asleep. She put her into her crib and gave her a light kiss on her forehead and quietly left the room.
"Becca down again, already?" Castle asked when she entered the Kitchen.
"Yep down for her usual after bath 10 minute nap." Yep and in fact exactly 12 minutes later there was a small coming from the nursery and Kate got up to get her.
They left for their walk a little after ten thirty and they used her stroller this time as they slowly walked through the park, when there was a bright flash.
"Looks like we're gonna be on page 6 tomorrow." Castle said as he dodged the two children who were running down the path.
"Looks like it." Kate said, she had grown accustomed to her face being on page six since they were dating so she didn't really bother herself with it anymore.
"Can we take a breather?" Castle asked stopping at the bench.
"We're going to have to get you back into shape Mr Castle." She teased.
"Really I know how we can do that." And he gave her that handsome but sneaky grin.
"Well we'll see, but first Becca here has to agree."
"I'll bribe her with something."
"Bribing your daughter, already?"
"It's the price I have to pay to spend some time alone with their beautiful mother."
She dropped her head shyly. It was amazing how he could still make her blush or feel shy with a single look or how he could make her feel like she owned the world. She held his hand and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Don't worry it's just a phase, now let's go home it's almost time for lunch." They stood up and he grabbed her hand.
"I'm serious about the bribing Becca thing."
"What are you going to bribe her with?"
"A pony"
"What is she going to do with that?" She asked laughing.
"She could ride it when she's older."
"Seriously you are not buying, a pony for our daughter."
"At least not yet." He whispered.
