At six months Becca was a beautiful baby girl with the looks of her mother and the energy of her father. Six o'clock in the morning and she was already up and ready to play.
Kate was in the kitchen making breakfast Castle was still asleep and she took Becca to let him sleep in.
"Hey, mom." Alexis said walking into the kitchen.
"Hey, lexie what's up."
"Well, dad's birthday is coming up and I was thinking we could through him a surprise party."
"I was thinking the same thing." Kate said flipping the eggs.
And Castle walked down the stairs.
"What were you ladies talking about?" he asked giving them each a kiss on the fore head.
"Nothing." They said in unison.
He raised his eye brow. "Oh I taught you were making plans my birthday is in 2 weeks."
Alexis started to freak out so Kate took control.
"Really, that soon?"
Castle's smile fell slightly.
"Really so you guys weren't making plans for my birthday?"
"Nope."

And Martha took Becca with her to the theatre, saying something about a mini actress in the making, so Rick was at the precinct for the day and was currently getting lunch so when the elevator opened ten minutes after he left she didn't look up until she heard the clicking heels next to her.
She looked up to see Meredith with a very flustered Alexis.
"Hey, is kitten here?" she asked looking all around her.
Esposito and Ryan's heads flew up at the voice.
"Uh, he went to get lunch he'll be gone for a while."
"Oh that's okay we'll wait." She sat in the chair not even bothering that Alexis had to stand.
Kate rose from her chair and gestured for her to sit and she examined the murder board.
Meredith made comments on every victims clothes and accessories and she made Kate so mad that she, balled her hand into fist so tight that she broke her pen from frustration, making everyone jump. Alexis obviously didn't want her there either because she sat there with a grim expression on her face, from being taken out of school for no reason again.
Rick walked into the precinct with the packages in his hands only to see...
"Meredith?" he said stopping in front of them.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well I came to celebrate your birthday with you I want to give you your birthday present."
"But, that's in two weeks."
She raised her eye brow giving him an obvious look. Kate grabbed the milkshake and chicken salad and headed to the break room angrily.
"Someone's in trouble." Ryan said in a not so soft voice.
"Big trouble." Esposito added, Meredith apparently oblivious to everything kept talking.
"No one told me that you guys moved I almost had a fit when the doorman told me, well I'm gonna go put my things in the house then take Alexis to a concert."
Before he could speak they were gone and the last thing he heard Alexis saying was.
"I can't go to a concert, I have to get the work I missed at school today and our house is full."
He entered the break room and paused when he got at the door when he saw Kate stabbing the chicken with more force than necessary and she was obviously ignoring him.
"I didn't know she was coming." He said making it clear.
No answer.
"Are you mad?"
No answer.
So eventually he asked a question he knew she would answer.
"What time did my mother tell you to pick up her and Becca?"
"4:30." she snapped. And he got just a glimpse of just how angry she was, so he left, eventually she would cool down and they could talk then.

He groaned when he saw Meredith on the couch looking rather comfortable when they got home and Martha grabbed him and pulled him into the kitchen, making Becca giggle.
"Why is she here?" She asked angrily.
"I don't know she just showed up this morning at the precinct, which has Kate pissed by the way."
Martha slapped his free hand.
"Of course she's angry, your ex wife is staying at your house." And she left the room.
Kate entered the house close to 7 and Castle came down the stairs to greet her.
"Hey, are you hungry?" She looked at Meredith.
"Nope, I'm good." And she walked up the stairs to their room, she checked on Becca only to see that she was taking a nap.
"So she sat on their bed to wait on Meredith to move from so close to the kitchen before she would go to get something to eat.
The door opened and Castle walked in with a plate.
"I know you said you weren't hungry but I still brought something for you to eat." She took the plate. She mumbled a soft thanks.
"I told Meredith to find a hotel I didn't want you to be uncomfortable in your own house."
He waited patiently for her reaction.
"Thank you."
He pulled her into an embrace.
"Always."

The next morning Kate walked down the stairs with a fussy Becca only to find Meredith already on the couch watching television.
"So, your beautiful daughter huh?"
"Yep."
"Is she breast feed?"
Kate looked at her suspiciously.
"...Yea."
"Oh, I never breast fed Alexis I heard it gives you saggy Boobs and I knew that kitten likes his women to look good." She stood up giving her a challenging look and walked back up the stairs with a wicked grin.
"Last time I try to play with you in front of the television, early in the morning Becca." Becca just gave her a puzzled smile and grabbed for her chain.

Work was miserable, Castle kept texting her about Meredith bothering her but when the text messages stopped 2 hours later she left the precinct early.
There was no way that deep fried twinkie was going to steal her husband and ruin her family.
She rushed into the house laughter was coming from upstairs, there bedroom door was closed she burst through the door and found, Castle tickling Becca and laughing with her.
"Hey sweetie, your home early."
She walked into the room, looking around.
"Yea I was just..."
"Checking up on me?" he finished
She lowered her head.
"Yes okay I left my husband in a house with a woman who's hotter than me so I did what any normal wife would do and came home early."
He laughed and she glared at him.
"First thing you are jealous for nothing and second you are way hotter than her by like ten times ." She smiled and all the anger immediately left and didn't come back even when Meredith came home claiming that she didn't find any good hotels but had like over 5 shopping bags.
But eventually she needed a break.
So that was why at 12:37 am he found his wife by the pool soaking her feet, he sat next to her rolling up his pants leg to do the same.
"So are you gonna just sit her, or are you going to do something good and skinny dip."
She swirled her feet in the water.
"I was waiting for you."
She looked up grinning and he stared at her intensely, put a finger under her chin and kissed her and after a few minutes of kissing they pulled apart.
"What was that for?" she asked catching her breath.
"I love you so much." And when he tried to turn his body to fully face her he fell right into the pool.
Kate tried to stay quiet they were the only ones up, but she couldn't she burst out laughing and he glared at her causing her to laugh louder. He pretended to climb out but instead grabbed her hand and pulled her in with him.
"Rick are you crazy?" she asked
"You know I always liked water and white t shirts. "
She couldn't help but smile, and poked him in the chest.
"you are completely crazy, I don't know why I love you so much."
"Must be my charm."
