KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKK

Castle looked at the time on his cell phone once again for the second time in less than five minutes, it was almost twelve and Kate still wasn't home yet, come to think of it she was hardly ever at home and when she was she always had case files in front of her, granted there was a possibility that it had something to do with her mother's case and he knew how she got with those cases but that gave her no right to neglect him nor their eleven month old daughter. Just then the door handle turned and he quickly threw his cell phone on the opposite end of the couch and switched on the television, she didn't need to know that he was waiting for her to get home.

She walked inside and threw her keys into the key basket and shrugged off her coat.

"Hey honey, what are you doing up?" she asked.

He observed her face she was getting bags under her eyes and it was obvious that she wasn't eating at work Ryan and Esposito had told him, she was falling back into her old routine she was becoming Kate Beckett again and that wasn't going to happen, he wasn't going to lose her.

"Hey." Castle responded the frustration and disappointment evident in his voice.

Kate sat on the couch next to him.

"Sorry I'm late, I lost track of time when I was working on my case."

"Don't worry that's the norm with you now." He quipped.

"What's that supposed to mean."

Great this was getting out of hand fast.

"It means that ever since the case with Scott Dunn you've been coming home late and neglecting your family and especially me, and I've grown accustomed to it." He snapped.

She was silent his words really took her by surprise.

"So what are you trying to say I'm a bad wife and mother, just because I'm doing my job?"

"Well you have been out extremely late, lately."

He was right and she knew he was right they hardly saw each other now and any free time she got Becca took up.

"Okay you're right and I'm sorry."

Everything was silent as she taught of a way to make it up to him.

"How about tomorrow evening we have a candle lit dinner just the two of us."

He looked at her for a while and taught about her offer.

"Okay, so I'll cook and I'll see you tomorrow at 7?" Castle asked feeling kind of excited already.

"Yep it's a date." She promised.

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKkKK

It was 6:30 and everything was set. Alexis was spending the night at a sleepover, Martha was out with Burt and Jim was taking Becca on a trip that he took Kate on as a baby, now all that was left was for his date to arrive.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

This case was one of the most irritating cases she had ever faced, how could one person begin to mount such a huge operation and hire so many hits on people and not leave a trace of how they did it. It was 6:30 she needed to leave in the next 15 minutes or else she was going to be late for her date with Rick.

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

He sat at the table and urged himself not to cry, she had forgotten there was no way she was stuck in traffic it was too late, almost eight. He blew out the candles and started to eat his now luke warm food, once again she had chosen her mother over her family and this time he wasn't sure he could forgive her.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeE

When Kate looked at her watch her hart leapt into her throat, it was 8:24 already? She was late and not by a bit but by a whole hour and 24 minutes. She quickly packed up and rushed out barely shouting out a 'bye' as she flew towards the elevator.

The house was dark, not a sign of movement or sound, she switched on the light and immediately hated herself the table was still set the large bouquet of her favourite flowers as the centre piece and the candles were melted almost halfway. She looked towards his office and saw a dim blue light seeped under the door.

He was writing and she could tell he was angry just by how furious he was typing, but he had every right to be angry and it was her fault and her job to face his anger.

Kate opened the door her heart palpitating in her chest and when she walked in he didn't even acknowledged her he just continued to type.

"Rick, Richard. I am so sorry, I just lost track of time."

He didn't say anything all she saw was a brief look of anger flash across his face.

"Rick, please say something, anything." She begged.

"I don't have anything to say to you."

"Yes you do, I am sure that you have plenty to say, so if you have something to say please just say it."

He clicked save on the laptop one last time he would probably have to change the last few sentences in the chapter because he was pretty sure he had typed what he wanted to tell Kate.

"Are you sure, you really want me to tell you Katharine because I can assure you, you will not like what you hear." He warned allowing the angry expression to stay on his face.

"Yes Rick I'm sure, I'm a big girl I can handle it."

"I hope so because right now you are not my wife, right know you are Kate Beckett, the broken woman who hides herself from the world behind her mother's case and doesn't come out, you've been hiding behind this case for so long that now that you're afraid to see who you are now that you were finally getting over it."

Her vision became blurry with tears.

"She's my mother Richard I'll never get over her murder."

"And I'm not asking you to."

"Then what do you want me to do Rick."

He paused hesitant as to how she would react to his answer.

"Walk away, they're going to come for you Kate and if you don't care about that think about the people who love you: The boys, my mother, Alexis, and are you going to put Becca through the same thing you went through what about your dad do you really want to put him through that again."

She took a step towards him.

"And what about you Rick?!" The tears were flowing freely down her face how did they even get here.

"Of Course I don't want anything to happen to you, you're the mother of one of my children, you're my wife."

"Oh, really because you just said that I wasn't."

"Right now I don't know we've just been fighting so much lately and something isn't working."

She refused to listen to it anymore, she just couldn't so she ran it didn't feel right to go into their room while they were fighting, they were too many memories of how amazing her life was until a few weeks ago. She walked into the nursery and looked at Becca's chest rising and falling in a calm and quick rising moments and all she wanted to do was pick her up and hold her and cry she just needed to touch her, but once she woke up it would be hell to get her back to sleep so she settled for holding her hand.

And two hours later she went into the guest room and made herself as comfortable as she could get without her husband, but she probably wasn't going to sleep any way.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

The next morning Rick woke up after probably 3 hours of sleep the most, Kate was gone and he knew it the closet door was opened slightly and her towel was gone. He sighed and got up how did he let that fight get so far that was by far the biggest fight they had ever had since they met and now she had run away from him.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Kate walked into work looking like a complete and utter mess, she had taken a bath in another room and made a quick stop in their room and grabbed the first set of clothes she could grab which sadly was a blue shirt, a pair of now over sized jeans and a red jacket and she ran back to the guest room and sighed when she realized she had forgotten her makeup and hair brush and Rick had already shifted twice when she walked in he would surely see her if she went back now so she combed through her hair with her fingers and put it into a sloppy pony tail and put on her mixed matched clothes.

"Umm KC are you okay?" Ryan asked, as she sat in her chair resting her head in her hands.

"Yea I'm fine." She answered trying not to give anything up.

"You, sure?" Esposito added.

She gave them an icy glare.

"I said, I'm fine."

They both simultaneously raised their hands in defeat, something was going on and with how she looked and was acting it probably had to do with Castle and it was never a good thing when you bothered Kate, when something was going on between them.

CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Great she lost track of time again and it was past twelve, Castle was going to be furious he didn't call or text her all day and he hadn't made her coffee and feed her for breakfast like he usually did either.

She dreaded going home it was like time was another woman, trying to destroy her marriage.

She opened the door and everything was quiet, not a light usually Castle was waiting for her watching television or playing a video game now, he was in bed fast asleep with a frown on his face. She chose out her clothes for the night and turned to exit the room and froze when she saw Castle wide awake giving her a glare that surpassed her own.
