Kate and Castle walked on the gold floor, feet dipping into the warm sand with every step.
They scanned the beach for who they were supposed to meet.
"They're over there." Castle said pointing to the human figures sitting beneath a large palm tree.
"Sorry we're late but Rebecca would not let us leave the house without her binky. She hid it and then forgot where she put it. Kate announced putting down the 34 month old toddler on the sandy floor where she immediately joined Maximus, Olivia and Oliver.
Everyone smiled and greeted them knowing how life could be with a toddler.
"Glad you're here Castle, there's a Jet Ski rental over there." Esposito said pointing to the wooden building with several chained jet skis in front.
Castle looked to Kate for permission, a huge grin plastered on his face and she rolled her eyes but nodded, and the last thing she heard was Esposito saying 'Dude you are so whipped' as they made their way away from their wives and children.
"I swear those guy are more childish than actual children." Jenny joked still watching at the men practically running to the rental.
Becca picked up a hand full of sand and attempted to put in her mouth.
"Becca put it down." Kate commanded.
The toddler looked at her and refused to put it down causing Kate to give her the Beckett glare which she returned in her own way but eventually dropped the sand.
"Girl that kid is just as stubborn as you." Lanie said looking on at the two.
"I know it's terrible she has my attitude and Castle's 9 year old on a sugar rush behaviour."
"Wow she must really be keeping you two busy." Jenny commented.
Kate nodded her head. "Definitely, last week she hid from me in the cupboard and then fell asleep. I was searching for her like half an hour before I found her. Not to mention her playing hide and seek with our stuff. Then her and her addiction to her binky if she doesn't have it, life with her is a whole lot harder."
"Oh Maximus has an addiction like that, he's obsessed with his old baby blanket if he can't find that he will not go to sleep
"Kids you love them but they are so much trouble," Jenny said "And I'm going to have to go through it all over again." She said.
Both women's heads turned to her, "What...?"
She smiled and Kate looked down at her stomach. "You mean you're ..."
Yep Jenny confirmed, "Four months along. I found out at three months."
"That's great Jenny I'm so happy for you and Ryan." Kate congratulated her.
"Yea it's great; Javi and I decided to start trying again too. We're looking for a baby girl now to complete the set."
"Mommy, look...sand castle." Becca said showing her the pile of sand patted down.
"I see, it's beautiful." Kate responded
"Aunt Lanie, Aunt Jenny look."
They both smiled and nodded their heads.
"I like castles!" She shouted.
You could barely understand her words.
Lanie smiled and looked at the girl. "Oh really? Why?"
Kate shook her head warning her not to lead Becca on.
"Princess Cinderella lives in a castle. Princesses always get to be the boss." Lanie giggled and Becca continued.
"Daddy name is Castle."
"Oh right your name is Castle too." Jenny told her amused at the little girl.
"No my name is Rebe... Rebecca or Becca, mommy I want juice."
Kate pulled the Sippy cup from the beach bag and handed it to her and she sipped happily on her apple juice.
She held the cup out to Maximus who took a sip too.
"Thank you." He said.
Lanie cooed. "Oh that is so adorable."
No less than half hour later the boys came back.
"Yo, you should have seen us out there!" Esposito exclaimed panting from the race back.
"Yea, especially Castle he even knew tricks."Ryan added
"Ryan's right he was doing all kinds of stuff." Esposito said tapping Castle on his shoulder.
"It's easy stuff guys." He responded arching his back slightly higher.
"Sure it is after the amount of practice you have when we go to Hampton."
"Dude you have your own jet ski?"
Castle smiled "Yes I do, one day I'll invite you all to spend sometime there and I'll teach you some stuff."
"Daddy time for swim." Becca said tugging at his swim trunks.
"Sure Becca lets go."
The men decided to take the children in the water leaving the women to their selves.
They left two hours later when Jenny started to get tired.
"Castle can we stop for ice cream?" Kate asked breaking the comfortable silence in the car.
"That sounds like a Rebecca like question but sure, ." He
"I have a sudden need for chocolate chip mint ice cream."
"Wait that sounds like a craving maybe you're pregnant." He joked laughing so hard that he missed the sudden change in Kate's demeanor.
"Ice cream!" Becca yelled raising her hands and kicking her feet.
Kate broke out of her trans and giggled at Becca's out burst, but her mind was still focused on one thing.
Could she really be pregnant?
