Sorry for taking so long but I had extreme writers block for this story.

She looked at the one small stick in her hand her heart stopped as she watched for the results.

Negative, she let out the breath she was holding and a weird feeling in her stomach which was probably disappointment then again it was only one test and it was there for over two and a half years. Maybe she should let Lanie double check just to be sure.

"Kate!"

She quickly wrapped up the test in lots of tissue paper and shoved it into an empty tooth paste box before disposing it into the garbage just in time for Castle to barge in the room.

"Hey can we talk for a second." He asked.

Kate gave him, her full attention.

"No Rick." Kate said walking into the kitchen with Castle in tow.

"But Kate she's three years old." He argued.

"Why, why would you want to put Becca in a preschool?" She asked.

She walked into the living room.

"Because I told you she's old enough and she needs to start interacting with more children." He couldn't tell her the real reason why he wanted to put their daughter in a preschool, she would kill him.

Kate rolled her eyes. "That is why Lanie and I always have play dates when we have the time. She's still small I don't want to send her to a place where other kids might trample her."

"It's going to be fine once we pick the right preschool."

"Castle, I'm not sending her to a preschool right now and that's final."

He watched her walk away to their bedroom and sighed "He would get her to listen to him eventually
Just then there was a wail coming from the nursery.
"I got her." Castle yelled.

A few minutes later he descended the stairs holding a kicking toddler.
He placed her on the floor and she immediately ran to her mother hugging her two feet causing Kate to lose some of her balance.
"Hey sweetie did you have a good sleep." she asked lifting the girl high into the air causing her to laugh and squeal, Seeing that you have the day off I was thinking that we could go for a walk what do you think baby girl?" Castle asked giving Becca a kiss.

"Yay we go for walk." she babbled.
"Yep but we have to have breakfast first."
Her idea of going for a walk was to take a nice stroll through the park and maybe they could stop and let their daughter run wild on the swings and slide so she could show castle that there were other ways to let Becca interact with other children without leaving her with a total stranger.

How ever her husband's idea of going for a walk was to walk to the mall and dragging her into one of the most expensive children clothing store.
"Why are we here?" Kate asked shifting Becca to her left hip.
"Because Becca is growing out of her clothes so I thought that we could go shopping for some clothes for her."
"And why are we in here? it's kinda expensive." She whispered.
"Yea but the clothes are beautiful and all ate excellent quality. Like these boots" he said examining the shoes before dropping them into the cart.
And that was just the start soon they had seven bags full of clothes.
"It's a good thing we decided to bring the stroller." Kate said. Pushing a stubborn bag into the basket under the stroller.
"Yep otherwise we would have to lug a three year old plus a bunch of bags that would have been a disaster." He answered.
"Speaking of which it's almost her nap time we should head home."
He nodded his head in agreement. "Yea I just have to get one last thing."
Kate looked down at Becca whose eyes were nearly closed. "We'll meet you outside"
He nodded his head before heading in the opposite direction.
When he returned to see Becca fast asleep in Kate's lap sucking on her binky comfortably.

"Hey."He greeted.
She nodded her head at him.
"Maybe we should have driven."
"No, we should have flown here?" She teased.
He grunted at her sarcastic answer. "Well I guess we don't need the cab I ordered."
"Never mind I take it back."

When they got home Kate put Becca to sleep in her crib before joining Castle in there room she froze at the door when she heard the conversation.
"No, I need to get a yes from her. Kate goes out to work from next week.." He said the frustration evident in his voice..
"I know what she said but I have to protect Kate."
There was a pause before he spoke again.
"She's forcing me to take action I already asked the mayor for another favor."
"Trust me it'll work."
Suddenly he turned to see Kate standing right behind him, her face was far from pleased.
"Um Kate, I gotta go guys." He said finishing the phone call.

"What was that all about?" She asked walking into the room with the intention to corner and intimidate him.

"Uh nothing we were just talking about... umm talking about our next game night." His voice getting higher with each word.

She rolled her eyes at his lame attempt to make everything seem normal. "Rick I've known you for a fairly long time I can tell when you are lying."

He sighed. "Ok I have something to tell you but you have to promise not to get upset until you hear me out."

"Fine." Kate said.

"Ok so since your three month recovery time is almost up I decided that it would be a good thing if I started shadowing you again."

Kate's eyes widened. "Castle why would you want to do that? Is this why you wanted to put Bella in preschool"

"Kate you got shot right in front of me and I couldn't do anything about it."

"Castle that wasn't your fault, you cant follow me around again." She argued.

He took a step towards her "Why not, I need more inspiration for my new book."

"Rick how many times do I have to tell you that you can't lie to me."

"Ok fine I want to protect you."

The room was silent and they stood looking into each other's eyes.

"You're just going to put yourself in danger, so you should just call who ever it is you need to and stop whatever it is you're doing."Kate said glaring at him.

He ran his hand through his hair. "Actually it's already finished the Mayor probably already called her."

"I cant believe you went behind my back." Then the monitor switched on and they heard the toddler call for her mother. Kate looked back at him.

"This conversation isn't over." Then she left him speechless in their room.

I still have a small case of writers block so leave you ideas or just comment about any thing you would like to see and maybe it would give me some inspiration to write :)
