So sorry for the wait guys! seems like i'm really busy this semester :( oh well. Who's ready for another chapter? and yep it's another episode, told a little differently and yes it is long. Twenty-Two: Legend of the Kuro Kabubto
Meanwhile in a old warehouse, Shredder's old friend Steranko was looking over his collection of artifacts. ''Alexander the Great's breastplate, the Spear of Destiny, Excalibur, is most greatest collection of all time ya? but is missing one thing.''
He walked over to his desk, ''Shredder's helmet, the legendary Kuro Kabuto. If someone could obtain for me I maybe forget terrible past misdeed.''
The mercenary he was talking to, Anton Zeck, smiled, ''So if I steal the helmet you'll forgive me for my little mistake?'' ''little mistake? you shoot me in eyeball'' Steranko replied pointing to his eye that was now replaced by a diamond.
''Not on purpose anyway, you got that cool new eye you used to be just another arms dealer but now, it's like ooh check out the cool eyeball guy.''
''I should pop your'e head like blueberry!'' ''relax Steranko I'll get you that hemet.'' ''Is in Shredder's lair, highest security tell me Mr. Zeck, why you think you can steal it?''
''See your Spear of Destiny there?'' ''ya?'' ''lick it.'' Steranko gave him a weird look, but licked the tip of the spear. ''Ugh! it's made of marzipan'' Anton Zeck smiled, ''I stole the real one yesterday.''
Steranko took the real Spear of Destiny back, ''Just watch step. I have sent five men to steal the helmet one after other. Nobody ever come back. That Shredder, he have eyes in back of head.''
Zeck chuckled, ''those eyes won't do him much good.'' He pressed a button on the suit he was wearing and disappeared. The only that could be heard was laughter.
*…*
Meanwhile, Chris and Caitlin were running around the park but with Chris each time passing his sister as she tried catching up to her brother.
''This is the seventh time I've passed you. Have you considered cutting through the trees to catch up to me?'' he asked joking while his sister was out of breath after running so fast.
''Ha, ha your'e hilarious'' Caitlin said out of breath. ''Thank you. I'll be here all week,'' Chris took off again and came back with a hot dog. ''You know, I think I'm feeling a lot better.''
Caitlin rolled her eyes, ''yeah I can tell.'' Chris showed that he got his sister a water bottle and gave it to her. ''Thanks bro'' as she took a sip of water.
They sat down on a bench and enjoyed the night sky and air. ''So, any words about what the guys are going to do to break Karai out?''
''Nothing yet, but were trying.''
Chris sighed and Caitlin noticed her brother was worried for Karai. And she knew that despite all that has happened he still loved Karai and felt bad for what he had said to her before he helped get away from the fight with Tiger Claw.
''Hey Chris, don't worry we'll get her back.''
''How?'' Chris asked. ''Shredder knows if we try to attack his place he will be ready for us, including you and me. The only way I can see us breaking in is if we get his best soldiers out of the lair.''
''True, and I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.''
''You don't think Shredder would hurt Karai though right? Even if she knows the truth?'' Chris asked concerned for Karai's safety with Shredder.
''I don't think raised her, so I'm sure he wouldn't.''
''He raised you too, but you told me he hurt you. Did he ever hurt, Karai?'' Chris asked.
''No he didn't…but he may do anything to Karai now.''
Chris was silent for a minute before he got up from his seat. ''Well then there is only one thing left to do. We're going to go to Shredder's lair and break Karai out.''
Caitlin almost choked on her hot dog that Chris said this. ''Are you serious? Chris, it's way too dangerous. There's Tiger Claw, Rahzar, Fishface, not to mention Stockman and there's like a thousand ways to get caught, and the place is like rigged with alarms.''
Chris wrapped one arm around his sister's should and lifted her up. ''With the two of us I'm sure we'll find a way to get her out. With your psychic powers and my super speed we can get her out before Shredder can say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ten times really fast.''
''I doubt it. Especially since I know how they work and Shredder's forces aren't that easy to fight.''
''That hasn't stopped me before from breaking someone out…not that I ever did, '' said Chris.
''Right. Okay Chris, if you think we can do it I'm in.''
''Good, now we just need to get some dog whistles, sushi chefs, a lion, and a giant magnet.''
''Um, how about instead of doing that we just scout out the area before we come up with a plan?''
''Fine, I still like my plan though.''
*…*
Meanwhile, the turtles were in the Shellraiser working on their own plan to free Karai. ''I'm thinking we might have better luck if we tunnel up from underneath Shredder's lair'' said Leo.
''Ooh what if we tunnel down from above?'' said Mikey, ''that'll really confuse them.''
''You can't tunnel from ugh! were not tunneling from anywhere we can't do this. Karai was raised by Shredder she's one of the bad guys'' said Raph trying to convince Leo.
Suddenly they stopped hitting something.
''What did we hit?'' ''a guy, and invisible guy he only showed up on infa red'' said Donnie.
Raph walked over to a bag that was laying on the ground and his eyes grew wide. ''Guys you aren't gonna believe this.'' He took out the Kabuto from the bag.
Suddenly Footbots showed up and started attacking them. They were able to fight them off an get back to the Shellraiser, not realizing Anton Zeck had placed a tracker on them.''
Leo had decided that they could use the helmet as a bargaining chip to get Karai back, but that didn't work to well when Zeck, Tiger Claw, Fishface and Rahzar caught up to them. Now they were trying to get away with the helmet.
Meanwhile, while the turtles were trying to keep the helmet out of the reach of the bad guys when Chris and Caitlin showed up.
''Yeah what the heck guys?'' Leo sighed. ''I'm sorry Caitling. We weren't looking for trouble.'' Caitlin looked at him, ''then why were you guys in trouble then?''
Leo showed Caitlin the helmet, which she recognized while her brother doesn't. ''A helmet? They came after you guys because of a helmet? It looks cool, but I don't get why they want it.''
''This is no ordinary helmet . It's the Kuro Kubuto helmet and it is special because it's the Shredder's said Caitlin as she takes the helmet. ''How did you guys get this?''
''It doesn't matter how we got it. What matters is we can use it to get Karai back,'' Leo replied.
''Really? We can get Karai back by giving back that smelly ugly helmet?'' Chris asked.
Leo nodded. ''Yes we can. Here's the plan we go to Shredder and give him back his helmet in exchange for Karai. And we won't leave until we get her and she's safe. Agreed?'' Everyone nodded except for Chris in agreement.
Caitlin turned towards Chris. ''Chris you okay?''
''Yeah just a quick question. You've gotten all of Shredder's men except for maybe a few away from the lair, correct?'' Chris asked.
''Yeah we did'' Leo replied.
''Just checking because I think I've got a better plan. You guys take the helmet to lure the bad guys away while Caitlin and I sneak into Shredder's lair. We go in, get Karai out, and get out. Then we go rescue you guys, bring the helmet back, and get back to the lair before dinner time. ''How is that?'' he suggested with everyone starting at him.
''You know that plan sounds better.'' ''Agreed'' said Raph, Donnie and Mikey in unison. ''Alright fine. we'll go with that plan.''
But Leo wasn't sure if the twins going after Shredder was a good idea.
''Caitlin can I talk to you for a minute?'' ''Sure Leo.''
''Caitlin I don't know about this, there's a huge risk of the plan, and I'm worried you guys might run into the Shredder.''
''I understand the risk Leo but you remember how we confronted him before.''
''I remember. And I think we'll be okay.''
''Everything will be ok Leo I promise. And you be careful to make sure Shredder's goons are away from the lair.'' Leo nodded.

Later, Chris and Caitlin had snuck into Shredder's lair to look for Karai. Meanwhile, Karai had been sitting in her cell trying to break out, but then heard someone opening the door. Assuming it was Shredder again, she tried to move away from the door she kept quiet and hid in the shadows, until she heard something familiar.
''You know, under the moonlight you still look beautiful,'' Karai turned around to see Caitlin and Chris. ''Hey there.''
Karai stared at him. ''Chris?'' ''And Caitlin as well.'' She smiled. ''But how- what are you doing here?''
''Were here to rescue you.''
''I'm surprised you guys are here…after all that I've done to you…'' ''It doesn't matter now'' replied Caitlin. ''She's right, we're here and we're going to break you out, he then turned to his sitter motioning her to break open the door, quietly.
Caitlin nodded and started opening the door. Karai stared at them, ''but why? Why would you do this for me?''
''Because Karai, Master Splinter misses you and we wanna help get you of of here. And because I care about you, even if we aren't related.''
Karai hugged her. And she smiled as Caitlin hugged her back, then turned to look at Chris, ''and what's you're reason for saving me?''
Chris sighed and approached her, but before he said anything Shredder appeared. ''What indeed,'' the trio looked over to see the Shredder standing in their only exit without his helmet.
''I knew you two come. When I heard the turtles have my helmet, I figured Hamato Yoshi would send you two to do his dirty work for him.''
''Let us go.'' ''And why would I do that child? when I can destroy you both.'' He drew his blades from inside his suit. ''You stupid bastard, let us go.''
''Unless you want another butt-kicking,'' said Chris.
''Last time you two got very lucky. This time you won't be leaving here alive.''
Chis charged for at Shredder, only for Shredder to press a button that causes devices around the room to activate slowing Chris's speed to slow down. Shredder then kicked him knocking him into Karai as the two of them are slammed into the cell.
Caitlin stared at him and tried to use her powers, but Shredder revealed a device on his armor and had something on his head that blocked her powers.
''Don't worry, I won't kill you. I will keep you locked up and torture you until you tell me where Splinter is hiding,'' he then turned towards Chris who is being helped up, by Karai. ''Or perhaps I'll torture that brother of yours. ''Let's see how long he'll last before he breaks.''
''No leave us alone! Chris! Karai hang on I'm gonna get you out of there!'' She glared at him before something in her mind snapped and she charged for Shredder.
Shredder charges at her and kicks her hard in the chest knocking her into the cell. As Shredder comes at them, Chris closed the cell door. ''Foolish boy do you think locking yourselves up will save you?''
Shredder asked as he retracts his blades.
''No, but using my powers to make an exit just might,'' Chris moves towards the wall behind the girls and placed his hands on the wall.
He then begins to shake his hands slowly before build up the speed causing the wall to shake. The girls backed away a little as Chris speeds up the shake causing the wall to shake even harder before the come apart creating a hole.
''No!'' Shredder then goes to open the door, but Caitlin used her powers damaging the door so I Shredder couldn't open it long enough for them to make their escape. Chris can then replied in a British accent to mock Shredder. ''Sorry we can't stay any longer, but we'll see you next time for tea and crumpets.''
They then escaped, while Shredder rips open the door to open and sees they are out of the hole. He screamed.
*…*
Chris, Caitlin and Karai escaped to the sewers as fast as they could. When they got there, Karai sunk to the ground and Caitlin sat next to her while Chris sat across from them and tried to catch their breath.
''Well, other than getting almost getting our butts kicked. My plan worked.''
''Whatever you say,'' said Caitlin ''let's get back to the lair.''
''You guys go on ahead. I still need to bail the turtles out, see you at the lair,''Chris takes off while Karai started following Caitlin.
''Oh the turtles have the Kubuto and they were luring his followers away so we could get you.''
Karai was surprised at that. ''Why are they doing that?'' ''Because it was only way to get you out.'' The girls were silent for a moment before Caitlin spoke again. ''I've missed you've Karai, I'm sorry about what has happened.''
''I'm sorry to.'' Caitlin smiled at her and the two hugged. They let go of each other and started talking on the way back to the lair.
''I'm still surprised that after everything, Chris came along to save me even after what I did to him.''
''Don't be, he wanted to come and save you, he still cares about Karai.''
Karai was surprised by that. ''Why? why does he still care about me?'' she said thinking back that night so long ago.
I guess it could be because I trust you a lot and I wanted to show it by giving you something important to me. And because I um, maybe like you a lot.
''Look Karai, Chris really likes you he always has no matter what has happened. Chris thinks your'e beautiful, amazing and he feels really happy when your with him. He wants to spend time with you, and even after finding out the truth he couldn't stop thinking about you.''
Karai was shocked. ''I can't believe after I've done to him…he still thinks about me?''
''He does. How do you feel about him?''
''I-I don't know. That when he went after me she didn't think anything much about him because he was just a target. But after spending time with him it started to change and I began feeling less concerned about my mission and felt like having fun. A different kind like when we used to play together when we were kids.''
''Do you feel happy with Chris and liked spending time with him?''
''I did, and I feel happy when I'm with him, but I'm still not sure if he feels the same way about me.''
''I'm talking from experience here, believe me I know how you feel.''
Karai looked at Caitlin confused, ''what do you mean?'' ''well that's a long story.'' Caitlin started explaining as they headed back to the lair.

Back to the turtles, who were still fighting and trying to get away from the Foot. Fishface was fighting Raph, Mikey fighting Rahzar, Donnie trying to fight off Stockman, and Leo fighting Tiger Claw.
Leo blocked all of Tiger Claw's attacks as he tried to pounce and attack him, but Tiger Claw finally got the upper hand knocking him off his feet and aiming his weapon at him. ''Any last words turtle?''
Just as Leo was about to say something something super fast grabbed Tiger Claw's weapon and the rest of his weapons and returned to kick him in the chest knocking him into Rahzar.
The turtles and their enemies looked over to see it was Chris. ''I've got some words for ya, pussy cat. It's called payback is a bitch and I'm going to kick your ass.''
Tiger Claw quickly recovered. ''Ha, have you not learned your lesson boy? looks like I will have to show you again.''
''We'll see about that.'' Leo got up and knocked him down, and him and Chris regrouped with the others.
Before they can fight, Chris stopped the turtles. ''Hold on, I got this.'' Chris uses his speed to appear behind Fishface, but in front of Stockman. He saw Chris spits up acid, but Chris moved out of the way as the acid burned Fishface's robotic legs which get damaged and he fell over.
Chris grabbed him by the tail, spun him around and around really fast before he let go as Fishface hit Stockman and the two are sent flying into a nearby dumpster.
Razhar and Tiger Claw go after Chris but he used his speed to dodge their attacks. He then got behind Tiger Claw causing Razhar to charge at him, but like before Chris moves out of the way causing both enemies to hit each other.
Razhar recovered first and charged at Chris who pulled out a dog whistle which caused Razar's ears to hurt annd Chris uses that to grab him and grabbed him and started spinning him around like he did with Fishface and tossed him into the dumpster with Fishface and Stockman as they were getting out of the dumpster.
Chris then focused on Tiger Claw who growled at him. Tiger Claw charges at him, but Chirs dodged his attacksand moss him near the edge of the roof. Tiger Claw goes to pounce but Chris moved out of the way as Tiger Claw stopped himself from falling off. Chris however kicked him in the chest knocking him off the roof, but Tiger Claw used his jetpack to fly up and pulled out his weapon, aming at Chris.
''You are a worth adversary boy, it will be a shame to destroy you but I must.'' The turtles were shocked as they watched Chris fight. ''Whoa,'' said Raph ''he's fast.''
''Of course, was there any doubt?'' he asked as he grabbed the bag from Leo and sees the helmet. ''Good work guys. Now let's head back. Caitlin should be getting back to the lair by now.''
''Wait you guys got Karai out? is she okay?'' Leo asked.
''She's fine. We ran into Shredder, but we got out before tin man could do anything to help us.''
''Good. But what do we do with the helmet?''
''Oh I'm so keeping it,'' Chris put the helmet back in the bag, ''At least until Splinter decides what he wants to do with it.''
''Okay. Come on guys let's get back to the lair.''

Back at the lair, Caitlin had brought Karai back to the lair where Splinter met them, completely shocked. He took Karai back into the dojo to talk. Caitlin waited outside pacing hoping the others were okay.
Maybe I should've gone after them. She was so concerned about them, especially Leo and Chris when they fought before and how Chris almost got killed by Tiger Claw when he fought him last time. Please be okay, please be okay.
Suddenly, she felt someone tap her on her shoulder. She turned around and could not believe what she saw. Shredder. ''Ah!'' she grabbed a chair nearby and hit the side of his head. But instead of seeing Shredder, she saw Chris wearing helmet. ''Chris what the hell?!''
''Ow! Why did you hit me?!'' Chris shouted as he removed the helmet. ''Because damn it, I thought you were Shredder!''
''You still didn't have to hit me with the chair,'' Chris put the helmet away as the turtles raced in. ''Whoa what happened?'' Raph asked and helped Chris up.
''I got hit in the face with a chair by my sister,''Chris rubbed the side of his head where he got hit. ''At least the helmet took the hit the most. ''I am soooo keeping it.''
''Ugh whatever, just next time don't sneak up on me like that you goofball.''
''Your the goofball,'' Chris muttered. Caitlin ignored him and looked at Leo, ''you guys okay?'' ''we almost got beat up pretty bad, but good thing Chris showed up.''
''Yeah he like, took down Fishface, Stockman, Razhar and Tiger Claw all at once.'' Donnie and Raph nodded. ''yeah it was pretty awesome.'' ''Hang on, you took all four of Shredder's henchmen down at once? I'm impressed bro'' said Caitlin.
''Was there any doubt? Anyways, where's Karai?''
''In the dojo with Master Splinter'' Caitlin replied.
''Oh okay. That's good,''Chris put helmet in his backpack. ''I'm going back to the apartment. I'll see you later, sis.''
Chris left the lair, but Caitlin could tell something was off and followed him. ''Caitlin wait,'' Leo said grabbing her hand ''you want me to come with you?''
''Thanks Leo, but I really think I should talk to my brother alone. You guys get some rest, I'll be back soon.'' And she left the lair following her brother.
Chris was walking normally towards the exit when Caitlin approached him. ''Chris wait, don't you want to wait for Karai?''
Chris stopped and shook his head. ''I'm sure she would want to spend some time with her father.'' ''Chris, I'm sure she would want to talk to you to. Just try, don't run away from her.''
''I'm not running from her. I just think after all she went through that she should spend some time with her real father.''
''If you say so. Still, I think you should talk to her.'' ''I will, but later. Anyways,'' Chris pulled out the helmet. ''The Shredder must find this really important enough to send his army out to find it. Now that we have it what do you think he will do to get it back?''
''Honestly, I have no idea. I'm just happy you guys and Karai are okay.'' ''I'm glad too,'' Chris put the helmet away and took off.
Leo appeared out of the shadows and wrapped his arms around Caitlin. ''Everything okay?'' ''honestly Leo, I don't know.''
