Sorry for the long delay, I had writer's block. Well here it is hope you enjoy. I'll try to have another chapter up by the end of the month.
"Mommy, when are the babies going to come out?" Kate struggled not to roll her eyes at the three year old ever since they had told the girl about her new siblings she had been asking the same question almost every day.
"Not for another seven months honey." She replied.
"How much is seven months?" Becca asked.
"Well that's another twenty eight weeks."
"That's like forever, I don't even know how high that is mommy."
She could hear Castle laughing and she noticed Alexis smile not looking up from her text books.
"Stop bothering your mom sweetie when it's time for the babies to come out we'll tell you okay?"
The girl nodded her head and took another scoop of her soggy cereal out of her bowl and directing it into her mouth swinging her legs as she chewed.
"So would you and the little ones like a smorelette this morning?" Castle asked Kate taking a few eggs out of the fridge."
Kate scrunched up her nose in disgust. "Nope, just thinking about that has my stomach upset."
"Me I want one daddy, please?" Becca said.
"Well at least someone in this house has good taste." He said touching the tip of his youngest daughter's nose lightly.
"I should've known she would like it after all the cravings for the smorlettes that I had, that and pineapples and she loves pine apples so I should have known she would like that disgusting concoction."
Castle cracked some of the eggs and poured them into the pans before adding the bacon and milk and sprinkling the cheese on top. "No need to hate Kate." A big grin appeared on his face and he looked to the women to laugh at his joke.
When he was finished he placed the egg in front of Kate and Alexis.
"Daddy, where's mine?" Becca whined.
"Rebecca you just ate, don't be greedy." Kate said the warning in her voice clear.
"So Alexis are you ready for your test?" She asked.
Alexis looked up from the large, heavy book and smiled. "I think so I've been studying for weeks for these finals, besides this is one of my best subjects the only one I'm not so confident about is French.
"Why didn't you say so earlier Kate is fluent in French." Castle said pouring himself a cup of juice.
"Really, why didn't I know this about you?" Alexis asked in utter shock.
"Well, you never asked before," Kate said.
"So can we study tonight I really want to get an A on this exam."
"Of course I'll come home and eat then we could get started."
"Thanks, I'm gonna go get ready for school."
At work Kate sat at her desk doing paperwork and Castle sat by Ryan and Esposito talking about the latest video game.
"So Castle, how's everything going with Beckett?" Esposito asked putting down his pen next to his paper work.
"She's good, considering everything that happened over the last period of months. Why are you asking me how she's doing though?""
Ryan looked at the woman in question and looked back at Castle like if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Because the last time we asked how she was doing she yelled at us to stop breathing down her neck."
"Ah, the hormonal Beckett, you guys should really be careful about what you do and say." Castle said as they all turned to look at Kate's back.
"You do know that I can feel you guys staring at me and Ryan and Esposito, you guys couldn't whisper to save your lives, now back to work." The boys quickly shut up and continued their work.
"Either way I'm hungry it's almost lunch time." She said closing the file.
"Sure what would you like?" Castle asked.
"I am in the mood for some fruits so just bring me a variety of them." She answered.
"Looks like our children are going to be healthy seeing that you've been craving fruits a lot now." He said. "Hey you boys want anything?"
Esposito nodded his head. "Sure I'll take a sandwich."
"Yea I'll take one to." Ryan said.
"What type?"
"Chicken," the boys said in unison.
He was back later with their requests and they all ate hungrily and Castle took his time to look at Kate. She was glowing; pregnancy was always a good look on her and she happily munched on her fruits, he would have to stock the house with some more fruits for the two little humans already forming a bump on their mother's stomach.
And a little while later when she was finished eating Gates came out, looking at the woman he still couldn't believe that captain Montgomery was gone, and by the sorrowful look on Kate's face neither could she.
"You all have been working all nonstop for the past two weeks pack up and go home, I'll call if everything changes." Gates said before turning around her hair whipping behind her.
"Alright guys you heard the woman lets pack up and go home." Kate said already putting her things into her briefcase, she was sleepy anyway."
They collected Rebecca first and they listened to the girl babble on about her day and all the things that she saw and did.
And after a long awaited nap she opened her eye and stared at the clock , it was three forty five, A two hour and twenty three minute nap.
She could hear Becca talking and Alexis was home because she could hear her voice too."
They ate and then Kate pulled Alexis aside and started to study with the girl.
"Oh I get it now." Alexis said repeating the phrase in French several times. "Thanks for helping me."
"No problem, I enjoyed the time we spent together."
Alexis looked at her and smiled but there was something wrong with it, it didn't reach her eyes what was it? Fear? Sadness?
"Alexis what's wrong?" Kate asked.
The girl sighed, "Nothing."
"Alexis," Kate warned.
"It's just that I have to enjoy it when I can."
Kate looked confused. "What do you mean?"
"Well you're about to have your biological second and third children, I don't think you would have time for me, after all I'm not your biological daughter." Alexis whispered.
"Alexis I love you and no amount of children I ever have will change that, I'll always have time for you and you are my daughter."
"Really?" She sounded and looked so small and fragile.
Kate hugged her, "Always, now come on I'm hungry lets go see what your dad and Becca is making for dinner."
Alexis laughed and accepted the hand that Kate offered her.
She had never had a real mother before, her biological mother loved her job more than her and then Gina only pretended to like her so she could be with her dad. But then there was Kate who continuously showed her real love and she believed her when she said that she would always love her.
And she would always love her back.
