SP*SP*SP

It was the middle of the night, the tour bus eating up the miles on the road to their final destination, and the last thing Laura expected was for Ross to suddenly shove his way into the small bathroom from behind her. What startled her the most, however, was the way his eyes glowed with suppressed desire, and the small click! of the lock.

For several tense seconds the two stared at the other, not saying a word, barely breathing. Everyone else, except the driver, was asleep, or so Laura had thought. Ross, on the other hand, had been waiting for this moment to happen ever since their night in Vegas, in his hotel room. Careful planning and waiting for the right moment to strike had paid off, indeed. He'd known being patient had been essential.

Laura was the first to break the silence. "Ross…" Her doe-like orbs were wide, like she still couldn't believe the blonde was standing right in front of her, in the bathroom of all places. "What-What are you doing?"

He raised a slightly mocking brow. "I think we both know what I'm doing, Laura," he replied, voice soft and husky. His eyes darkened further, if that were possible. "Look at you. You're practically shaking with anticipation."

It was in that moment the brunette noticed that Ross was right – her body was vibrating; hands trembling. It was a miracle she was even standing and not in a puddle on the floor. In hopes of stopping, she wrapped her arms around her middle.

"I'm-I'm not 'shaking with anticipation', as you put it," she said, strengthening her tone defensively. It was bad enough Riker almost caught them last time – She refused to allow anyone or anything to ruin her relationship. It didn't matter if her emotions were jumbled together when it concerned Ross; she'd live through it. She could live without him. Or, at least, that's what she told herself.

Her spine straightened. "Get out. I'm done – I don't want to do this anymore."

"Okay," he easily acquiesced. Laura was immediately suspicious, and he smirked sexily at her expression. "Okay, I'll leave and I won't bother you anymore. Heck, I'll even give you all of the blackmail material I've gathered during our little arrangement. But–" He held up a pointer finger to add emphasis, "–I want one last kiss from you."

She nibbled her bottom lip. "What's the catch? You're making this too easy." And, why do I feel a level of panic at the thought of him actually agreeing with me? It doesn't make any sense... I want him to leave me alone! Don't I?

Ross shrugged casually, like he had all night to talk about their current topic. "There's no real catch – I just want you to prove to me that you honestly want out. That's all."

"Just a kiss? You want me to prove I don't want you with a kiss?" she clarified. She wouldn't put it passed Ross to find some sort of loophole in this little agreement they were making, so she wanted everything to be explained in black and white terms; crystal clear, and no misunderstandings.

He nodded. "Yes. Just one kiss, that's all." A small smirk crossed his features, and it put Laura immediately on-guard. "But, when we kiss, make sure you actually mean it. Okay? You said it yourself – you don't want to see me anymore, and I get it. Riker almost caught us. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let you go without being positive about your decision."

Of course, it made sense. Laura supposed, anyway. The blonde teen had made it obvious since the beginning (of him blackmailing her) that he wanted her, physically and emotionally (despite the fact that she was dating his oldest brother). Before, she hadn't wanted to end things because Ross had incriminating material on her that he wasn't afraid of exposing.

Now… Now, he was using a new tactic. A new tactic she wasn't familiar with. Prove that she didn't want him? With a single kiss? It seemed too easy, too … normal, in a sense. Was that all she had to do, kiss him with dispassion? Physically show Ross he didn't do anything for her, sexually? Therefore, emotionally?

There must be something I'm missing, she concluded, eying the teen in front of her. This appears a little too coincidental. Almost like… he was expecting this. What other explanation was there?

"Well, are you gonna do it?" Ross asked, a certain level of smugness appearing. It caught her attention, and her eyes narrowed the slightest bit in the beginnings of anger and frustration.

Wanting to wipe that expression off of his face, Laura didn't think twice about her actions. With more force than she knew she had, she grabbed two handfuls of his T-shirt and jerked him down. Their lips clashed; hers almost violently and his just as eager.

Groaning at her sweet taste as it exploded across his senses, Ross easily lifted the brunette in his arms onto the bathroom counter. As soon as her buttocks made contact with the cold surface, he forced her legs apart to fit his hips into the V of her thighs as closely as possible.

He inwardly smirked when he caught the mewl of pleasure she released, her arms slithering around his neck to hold him close. Oh, his plan was definitely working. He'd known sooner or later Laura would demand out of their little arrangement. Ross couldn't have timed it better.

He had always known Laura had the patience of a saint. But he'd also known she'd snap at some point, especially after Riker almost caught them. It had never happened before, and if he knew one thing about the petite brunette he knew this:

Laura wouldn't allow anything or anyone to interfere with her relationship with Riker. It was one thing to secretly take advantage of her under the cover of darkness, it was completely another when a person factored-in almost getting caught by her own boyfriend.

In this situation, Ross was lucky it had taken this long for 'the Riker incident' to occur. This late in the game (so to speak), Laura would be 'trained' to crave Ross's touch so much that she wouldn't break their arrangement, no matter how close they were to being exposed.

Sure, it may result in a step back in Ross's plans, but, ultimately, she wouldn't be able to refuse him. Take now for instance. By answering Laura's anger and frustration just as aggressively, he would call this their hottest kiss to-date. Their most passionate, even.

And damn was she responding beautifully to every touch and caress.

If Laura honestly thought she was convincing him that she didn't want him, she would be sadly mistaken. In fact, it was the exact opposite of what she'd claimed.

Deep down, she wanted him. He could taste it on her lips, the way she kissed him, the way her body moved against his. He could feel it in the way she trembled with pleasure in his arms, feel the way her heart beat rapidly against his chest.

With a quiet, reluctant groan, Ross broke the kiss. They were both panting, and he couldn't help the smirk that appeared on his boyish good-looks when Laura whimpered in protest. Her arms tightened, silently wanting him to close the gap between them again.

"Ross…" she breathily said. Her eyes were glazed, like she was drugged.

Using one hand, he cupped her jaw with his pointer finger and thumb. His other remained on her silky thigh, caressing the skin there tenderly. "Open your mouth."

Without needing to gently force the action (like he'd done in the past), she immediately parted her lips in invitation just wide enough to perfectly fit his mouth to hers, his tongue snaking smoothly inside to play. She groaned, eyes fluttering shut once more.

As their tongues dueled for dominance, he dropped the hand holding her chin to lift her off the counter. Her legs wrapped securely around his waist as he lowered them to the cool tiled floor, one forearm keeping him from crushing her with his full weight.

Experimentally, he rocked his hips against the juncture between her thighs, and Ross was rewarded with a small whimper of pleasure from Laura. Encouraged with the positive response, he did it again, once, twice, three times, all resulting in the same sexy little sounds she released.

When she began tugging at his T-shirt, the blonde didn't think twice about removing it, letting her hands move appreciatively over his toned chest and abs, his broad shoulders. After all, who was he to deny her? He loved having her hands on him, in any way he could get it.

Ross broke the kiss, panting, but didn't move away. Instead, he trailed his lips down her neck to lightly suck at her pulse but made sure he didn't leave a mark. When he came across the collar of Laura's sleep shirt, he sat up far enough to tug the hem up, exposing her flat stomach and then her bra-encased breasts, until the shirt was completely off and discarded.

Her chest was slightly heaving from passion and arousal, putting the twin mounds on perfect display for his inspection. He honestly couldn't help but stare at the picture she made, panting and flushed. Because of him.

Not able to resist temptation, he leaned down to place a kiss between her breasts. Pressing kisses and light licks wherever he could, his hands gripped her hips, jerking her body with just enough force to meet his grinds. His senses exploded in pleasure, and the next thrust was hard enough to shake Laura's petite frame almost violently.

Laura had to bite her lip to keep from moaning out loud, head lightly thrashing side-to-side to help contain the pleasure roaring through her veins. The last thing she needed was someone waking up and becoming curious in the strange, incriminating noises coming from the tour bus's bathroom.

Ross seemed to be thinking the same thing, because he captured her lips with his once more, thus silencing anything that could unwittingly escape their throats in their compromising position.

Bumping and grinding for several, heated moments, the blonde abruptly tore his lips away from hers to sit up completely on his knees, panting heavily. The young woman under him wasn't any better; her body practically limp yet tensed with pleasure.

He smirked, half smug and half triumphant. Lazily, he trailed one finger from her chest, between her breasts, and down her toned stomach, ending at the waistband to her sleep shorts. She shivered.

"Well, do you still want to end things between us, Laura?" he huskily asked, eyes hooded.

There was a brief struggle that crossed her facial features. Her emotions were obviously roiling, one side wanting this to finally end, the other protesting and panicking at the mere thought of stopping their current activity.

After what seemed like hours (but was more likely a few minutes), the petite brunette shook her head negatively, slowly, almost cautiously. Doe-like eyes clouded the slightest bit, darkening with what Ross suspected was a tiny bit of acceptance of everything – their relationship, her inner desires finally registering. Perfect.

"Good," he murmured affectionately. "Now, how about we pick up where we left off?"

SP*SP*SP

She should be ashamed.

She should be really ashamed of what she did.

And yet… She wasn't, not completely, anyway.

Laura shook her head, mentally slapping herself in the face. Currently, she was sitting at the back of the tour bus, putting the final touches onto a song she'd written for Disney, in hopes that they would like it and be able to use it for the soundtrack-deal they'd offered her. Of course, they had their own team of talented songwriters, but she wanted this project to be a little more personal. There was nothing wrong with that, right? Laura didn't think so.

The rest of the bus's occupants were getting something to eat at a nearby diner before their last leg of the trip to LA and, ultimately, the reunion with Mark, Stormie, and Ryland, along with Ratliff's mom. Laura's family would have been present, too, but Vanessa had college to deal with, and Laura didn't want her older sister's education to suffer. Instead, the sisters promised to visit each other when they were both on break. Besides, it didn't make sense to fly out from Colorado to California for only one weekend.

Stop trying to distract yourself, the brunette mentally scolded, her brows furrowing. You had your chance to end things with Ross, once and for all. Why didn't you take it?

She knew the answer, of course, but refused to say it, let alone think it.

After all this time, how could she admit that she had fallen for Ross Shor Lynch?

Or, at least, that's what she feared.

SP*SP*SP

"Ready, set, ROCK!" R5 chanted, as was their pre-show tradition, before breaking up and quickly making their way on-stage. Riker, however, hung back while his siblings and Ratliff greeted the enthusiastic crowd at their home concert.

The blonde bassist turned to look at his girlfriend, who had been uncharacteristically somber the whole day. The other members didn't notice, and neither had their parents, Ryland, or Ratliff's mom, but he had. He frowned, concerned.

"Laura?" he asked, "What's wrong?"

The brunette seemed to snap out of her thoughts at the sound of his voice. "Hm? What was that, Riker?" she asked, blinking dazedly. Her eyes suddenly cleared, brows furrowed. "Hey, shouldn't you be on-stage?"

Riker shook his head. Taking a step closer, he laid his forehead against hers, their noses brushing affectionately. "If something's wrong, you know you can tell me, right?" he quietly whispered. "You know I'll always be here for you." Yes, he should be on-stage, but when his girl needed him she took first priority. It had always been that way, so he didn't see a reason to change that.

Doe-like eyes softened, and a smile crept over her features. "I know," she whispered just as quietly. "But, I swear I'm okay. Now, get out there and put on a great show. Okay?"

He didn't necessarily believe her, but he also knew she would talk to him if-and-when she was ready. He accepted that.

So, with a boyish grin, and having dropped the topic (for now), he said, "Kiss for luck?"

Laura grinned, but shook her head in amusement. "You don't need it, rock star."

With that, Riker was able to enter the stage area. As the fans screamed and cheered at seeing him, he laughed merrily and waved. His thoughts, however, remained with the beautiful young woman back-stage who held his heart in her tiny but capable hands.

SP*SP*SP

"Okay," Rocky exclaimed into his microphone after the band finished playing Cali Girls, adjusting his guitar against his shoulder, "Before we go on break, the band and I have a special performance planned for you guys!"

As his announcement was greeted with excited screams and loud cheers, Ross took over speaking. His cheeks were beginning to hurt from grinning so much, but he couldn't seem to stop at the moment. "Everyone knows who Laura Marano is, right?"

The crowd roared in agreement, all eager to hear what the famous model/sometimes-singer-actress was going to do. Of course, by this point, everyone had heard about her performance with Rydel, singing a duet of Call Me Maybe, thanks (in part) to the Internet.

Ratliff chuckled as he took over speaking next. "Well, what would you say if we told you she was going to sing for you guys?"

Again, the crowd burst into screams, cheers, and thunderous applause.

It took almost a full minute for everyone to quiet down enough for the band to speak again. This time, Riker spoke proudly into his microphone, "Here to perform an original song for you: Laura Marano!"

"Hey, guys," said brunette greeted, appearing on-stage with her own microphone in hand.

The crowd seemed to convulse with energy and their enthusiasm, all screaming as loudly as they could. It made a bubble of laughter and adrenaline spike through her veins, and she grinned as wide as she could.

"Oh, stop it," she modestly said, waving a hand, "You guys are so awesome! Now, who's ready to hear the new song I wrote?"

Her answer was in the form of the R5 Family all screaming their approval. She laughed again, but held up a hand to pause them.

"Wait – Did I mention this was a duet?" she teased. If possible, the crowd went even crazier, and she added, "Let's get Rydel down here, center stage, with me!"

It didn't take a lot of coaxing before the blonde keyboardist bounced down, her microphone in one hand while she used the other to wrap it around Laura's shoulders.

"Are you guys ready to rock?" Rydel cheered, grinning as she watched the crowd's reaction. "Let's hit it!"

As the boys got the beat the girls needed, the two laughed and broke out of their half-embrace to strut down the stage in opposite directions.

L. A. Boyz:

Laura:

"Drivin' down Sunset on a Saturday night
It's gettin' kinda crazy under the lights
But we don't care we're passing our time
Watchin' those L.A. Boyz roll by"

Rydel:

"In their droptops, Harleys, Escalades too
A hundred different flavors to vary your view
There's one for me, and there's one for you
Watchin' them L.A. Boyz roll through"

The audience went absolutely insane for the two young women, screaming their heads off and waving their arms in the air erratically. There were even a couple of wolf-whistles, but it only made Laura and Rydel grin cheekily as they continued to perform.

Both:

"Lookin' so hot down in Hollywood
You know they got, got the goods
So let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz
Ridin' the waves up in Malibu
They really get, get to you
So let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz

Give it up, give it up
You don't have no choice
Give it up, give it up
For the L.A. Boyz"

Riker grinned as he watched his girlfriend sing and lightly dance to the beat. He could tell that whatever was bothering her earlier was clearly gone from her mind, and he was thankful for that. He hated when she was troubled, especially when she thought she could handle it on her own.

However, he also knew that was just part of her personality, and he wouldn't change anything about Laura. He loved her, no matter how frustrated she made him feel sometimes.

Laura:

"West side, East side, everywhere between
Rockstars jammin' the promenade for free
Flippin' their skateboards on Venice beach
L.A. Boyz come play with me
Turn it up
Turn it up
And come play with me"

Rydel:

"Lookin' so hot down in Hollywood
You know they got, got the goods
So let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz
Ridin' the waves up in Malibu
They really get, get to you
So let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz"

With her newfound revelations subconsciously taking over her limbs, Laura barely noticed when she started dancing around Ross (and Riker, of course), but she did notice how she secretly smiled at the younger blonde guitarist when she knew no one else could see.

She also noticed how he smirked and discreetly winked at her.

Gosh, what was wrong with her? Ever since that night in the tour bus's bathroom her thoughts seemed to center on Ross.

Geez, I wonder why, she sarcastically reprimanded herself, inwardly frowning in disapproval. All she did was agree to continue seeing Ross under the cover of night, even though he'd given her the perfect opportunity to end things.

How could she have been so stupid?

Snapping out of her thoughts, the brunette casually made her way back to the front of the stage to stand next to Rydel; the two young women were almost done with their song. She could think and stew over her life's woes later.

Both:

"Put your number in my phone, oh, maybe I'll call you, maybe not
What you doin' all alone?
Come show me what you got, boy
Show me what you got, got boy
What you got boy show me what you... GOT!

Lookin' so hot down in Hollywood
You know they got, got the goods
So let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz
Ridin' the waves up in Malibu
They really get, get to you
So let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz
Give it up for the L.A. BOYZ!
[x6]
Let's give it up for those L.A. Boyz"

After the song came to an end, Ross called out, "Let's give it up for Laura and Rydel, everyone!"

The crowd erupted into loud cheers and exclamations, and the two girls grinned, bowing and laughing as they linked arms with the other.

"We'll be right back after a fifteen-minute intersession," Rocky added, grinning at the audience charmingly.

With that, R5 and Laura exited the stage, but not before Riker wrapped an arm around his girlfriend's waist. This gesture, of course, caused the entire crowd to 'aww' loudly at the couple, which earned snickers from the other band members.

In response, Laura giggled as she buried her face against her boyfriend's chest, and Riker playfully rolled his eyes. But his lips twitched in a way that suggested he was fighting a smile.

"Shut up, you guys – You're just jealous."

SP*SP*SP

In the break room, Rydel took a seat on the leather couch provided, sighing happily. "Oh man, Laura," she giddily said, "Have I told you how much I adore that song? L. A. Boyz is the perfect match for the guys' Cali Girls."

"Aw, thank you, Delly," the petite brunette replied, beaming modestly. While still being held by Riker, the couple took a seat on the only cushy armchair in the room; Laura sitting on his lap, and his arms wrapped around her. "You know, if I'm not with you and you wanna sing the song, I'm sure I can tweak it to make it for one singer," she offered.

Rydel shook her head. "No way. It'll sound so much better when we're singing it." She pointed a finger at her best friend. "And, I don't want to hear you say 'in case you're not with us' ever again, missy. That's considered blasphemy!"

"Yeah," Rocky crowed in agreement, grinning. "That was an awesome song, Laura. We should have you and Rydel performing more often – the fans love you guys!"

"What's not to love?" Ratliff chirped in, chuckling. "We're extremely lucky to know two such talented young women, and have them part of R5."

Ross nodded in total agreement. "Damn straight, we do," he said.

From his position, Riker affectionately squeezed Laura. "You have no idea how proud I am of you, babe," he whispered into her ear. When she snuggled deeper into his embrace, he smiled.

For the rest of their intersession, the band and Laura threw around ideas that ranged from Laura being a more active member of R5, helping them write songs and performing more often, to cover song suggestions that everyone wanted to do, or hoped to do in the near future.

Ryland had come in at one point, announcing how a well-known record studio wanted to sign R5 to their label. This garnered ecstatic whoops and loud exclamations of joy from everyone, and Laura tightly hugged each band member in congratulations. It turned out that the West Coast Tour was part of an audition-of-sorts to see how the band did, and the executives were more than pleased with the results.

"This is amazing," Rydel squealed, bouncing up and down on her feet. "This is what we've been waiting for – and more!"

Ryland laughed, feeling the same level of happiness and giddiness as everyone else in the room. "That's not all. The executives want to set up a meeting to finalize everything, and get the contracts signed. I'll set it up to happen in a couple of days – That should be enough time for you guys to settle down from your tour and unpack."

"Thanks, Ry, you're the best," Riker said, patting his youngest brother on the shoulder. "But, what about the record company we're currently signed to?"

"It shouldn't be a problem." He shrugged. "It was a company based on helping up-and-coming bands and/or artists to get their names out there. They're the ones who got in-touch with the bigger label to get R5 on tour. It's what they do, so I'll handle all of the ending contract business."

Riker grinned. "Like I said, you're the best, Ry."

"Believe me, I know. I. Know." With that said, Ryland exited the break room to handle any problems that may occur before his favorite band (and, no, it wasn't just because it consisted of his older siblings and friend… maybe) went back on-stage.

Rocky was practically buzzing with excitement. "Man, I feel so pumped!" he exclaimed. "I can't wait to see what's in store for us next. Things can only go up from here."

Ross slapped a hand onto his brother's shoulder, grinning. "Save all that energy for the stage, bro," he teased, "We still have the second-half of our home concert to perform." His own body, however, vibrated with the same adrenaline and energy from the exciting news.

"You're right, you're right. Guess I got a little carried away," the older Lynch sibling sheepishly said, chuckling.

Unknown to Rocky, Ross's focus shifted as his eyes trailed to where Laura stood with Riker. She was animatedly waving her hands and talking, obviously excited and thrilled for the band, while her blonde counterpart grinned and couldn't seem to stop staring at her enthusiasm. Knowing the brunette, which Ross did, she was rambling in that cute way she did.

His chocolate gaze softened. "Yeah, but you were right… Things can only go up from here."

Including his relationship with Laura.

SP*SP*SP

"Before we end our concert," Riker commented, chuckling as his announcement was met with disappointed groans, "I'm happy to announce that besides having Laura as our special guest this evening, R5 also has a new song to share – one that was co-written with Laura."

The crowd all started cheering with excitement once more, and the blonde grinned.

"If you caught our recent live stream, I believe we've commented on it a couple of times," Ratliff hinted, smiling. "Well, we finished it, rehearsed it, rehearsed it again, then decided to rehearse it once more just to make sure it sounded good."

The drummer elicited some laughs from the audience, their energy levels rising once more despite the fact they were going to perform their last song of the night.

"Are you guys ready to hear it?" Rocky asked, grinning in anticipation. He was rewarded when the crowd burst into cheers and eager screams. "All right, then! That's what we wanna hear!"

All About The Girl:

"High heels, got a taste for fashion
Converse and a fatal attraction
She's got that something I'm looking for (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
Maybe she lives in the city
She may be smart, she may be pretty
She's got that something I'm looking for
Whoever she is, she is out of this world"

The audience went crazy for the song, jumping and waving their arms wildly in the air. It made the band members smile and continue singing, their bodies rocking with the beat. They loved how their fans were so energetic and loved their music in general.

A band – any type of band – couldn't ask for more.

"It's all about the girl that I meet
On the bus or on the street
It's all about girl in my mind
That I'll meet one day it's a matter of time
(Oh-oh, oh oh-oh) Hey! (Oh-oh, oh oh oh)
It's all about the girl
One day I'll find

Brown eyes or blue as an ocean
Don't know what sets an emotion
She'll have that something I'm looking for (Oh-oh, oh-oh)
I'll search in every direction, until I make the connection
She'll have that something I'm looking for
Whoever she is, she is out of this world"

Backstage, Laura bounced on the balls of her feet, hands clasped, and eyes gleaming as she listened attentively. They sounded amazing, like she'd always known, and she couldn't help how her mouth formed the words along with them, softly singing to herself.

Every so often, her gaze would travel from Riker to Ross, but she couldn't help herself. She knew her boyfriend was concerned about her mood but it wasn't like she could admit what she was really thinking (or doing, for that matter).

"It's all about the girl that I meet
On the bus or on the street
It's all about girl in my mind
That I'll meet one day it's a matter of time
(Oh-oh, oh oh-oh) Hey! (Oh-oh, oh oh oh)
It's all about the girl
One day I'll find"

How could she tell the man she loved with all her heart that she'd been lying to him for the past year? And worse, cheating on him, too?

Her heart felt like ripping itself out of her chest at the mere thought.

"She'll say she knows me
I'll say that's true
You are the answer that I always knew
And when I hold her, and when we kiss
There is no question it comes down to this
It's all about the girl that I meet
On the bus or on the street
It's all about girl in my mind
That I'll meet one day"

Laura swallowed thickly as her thoughts drifted to her unwanted feelings for Ross. Their relationship just wasn't right – she was dating and in love with Riker, and Ross had done nothing but blackmail her since day one.

Yet, she hadn't broken things off when he'd given her the opportunity? What was up with that? How twisted did that make her? She was essentially sleeping with two brothers, for crying out loud!

Blinking hard, the brunette tried her best to get her mind off of its current topic. She shouldn't be so conflicted; she knew what she wanted, who she should be with.

Her eyes trailed back to Riker.

"It's all about the girl that I meet
On the bus or on the street
It's all about girl in my mind
That I'll meet one day it's a matter of time
(Oh-oh, oh oh-oh) Hey! (Oh-oh, oh oh oh)
It's all about the girl
One day I'll find that girl"

Then, almost like a magnetic pull, her doe-like orbs traveled onto R5's front man.

Ross Shor Lynch.

As if feeling her gaze, the blonde guitarist locked eyes with Laura. Her breath caught in her throat, wondering how he would react to her staring at him. Her body stilled, and everything else became a dull roar in her ears as her entire focus centered on him.

The last thing she expected was for Ross to smile tenderly at her, winking charmingly.

And… Her heart fluttered.
