Also one more thing, were going to be doing every other episode, but they'll be a quick little description about what happened. Ok everybody good? ok here I go enjoy season 3!
Thirty: Within the Woods
I'll never forget the day the day we left New York City. The Kraang defeated us, Leo got hurt, Chris was…and Master Splinter was…gone…lost…
We had nowhere left to go so we came to the old farmhouse I grew up in miles away from the city. A place where we could all be safe. The first thing we did was take care of poor Leonardo.
We took him to the bathroom and place him in the tub, Donatello said it would keep him hydrated and help him heal faster. Caitlin keeps a constant vigil over him, and so does Raph, waiting for him to wake up.
But Caitlin has also been going through some trouble. Since the Invasion, her powers have been giving her trouble. We keep asking her to have Donatello run some tests, but she's refused saying that it's nothing to worry about.
Michaelangelo goofs around a lot, but he does a lot of chores around the house. But mostly he goofs around a lot. Donatello built a lab in the barn trying to create a mutagenic medicine to heal.
And then there's me. April O' Neil. I spend most of time training with turtles and writing in my ever expanding journal. I miss New York, I miss Sensei, my dad, Chris. Hopefully Leo will recover and we can all go home soon.
If there's even a home to go back to. But life as Master Splinter would say, must continue on.
A few weeks later…
The turtles, Caitlin, April and Casey were training out in the front yard. Donnie and Mikey were sparing against each other, and so were April and Raph, who was blocking all of her attacks, until she caught him off guard,and punched him in the face.
Mikey smiled, ''oh yeah gotta be quick if you wanna hang with the ninjas dawg!'' Caitlin laughed as she continued working on her own ninja moves and trying to focus her powers.
Ever since the Invasion her powers hadn't been working right. April and the others had been wanting her to have Donnie run some tests, but she refused and wanted to try to get them working again.
She took a deep breath and tried to focus, but was interrupted when she opened her eyes and saw Donnie and Casey fighting. Again.
''Hey guys the idiots are at it again.'' April rolled her eyes and walked over, ''okay you two enough! you guys are acting like a bunch of cage animals.''
''Eh were just blowing up a little steam red'' said Casey as Donnie put an arm around his shoulder. ''Yeah things are just kind of tense lately right old friend?''
''You got that right old pal.''
''Were all just a little frustrated April,'' said Raph ''no offense, but were turtles we don't belong in a farmhouse we belong in the sewers.''
''Yeah that's all good, but like Master Splinter would say, we must accept the hand that the universe has dealt us.''
''Wow that's deep yo'' said Casey, and Caitlin agreed. ''Yeah and If Chris was here, he'd probably agree.''
''Yeah well Master Splinter is gone,'' said Raph ''and so is Chris. And Leo may never wake up the universe has dealt us a terrible hand.''
Caitlin tried not to look heartbroken as she took a deep breath and turned to walk back to the farmhouse. Don't let the others see you cry. But she soon couldn't hold the tears back, and raced into the farmhouse.
''Caitlin wait!'' Raph shouted but she ignored him and raced upstairs to the bathroom slamming the door behind her.
*…*
She looked at Leo laying unconscious in the tub. Please wake up, please… Raph had come by earlier and tried to open the door saying he was sorry and he didn't mean it, and she finally opened the door letting him in.
They sat in silence both looking at Leo. Please Leo, your our leader…I need you bro. Raph looked over at Caitlin as she was sitting on the floor, crying and holding onto Leo's hand. Please Leo I love you…wake up
Raph put a hand on her shoulder, and gave her a hug. ''It's gonna be okay Caitlin.''
Caitlin sniffed, ''I hope your'e right.'' ''I hope so to. Come on, let's go downstairs with the others.'' Caitlin tried to suppress a groan. Mikey had found a new television show a couple days ago, called Crognard the Barbarian.
It was stupid, and made no sense, but of course everyone else seemed to like it, well besides her and Raph. Raph helped her off the floor and they turned to walk out, but then they both heard a noise.
Leo. They quickly turned around and Caitlin knelt near the tub.
''Leo?''
He groaned and his slowly fluttered opened.
''C-Caitlin? R-Raph?'' They both smiled in joy. ''Guys, guys get up here!'' Raph shouted as Caitlin kissed his cheek. ''I never thought you would wake up.''
''Of course I would, I couldn't leave you or the others.'' Wait…what's up with his voice?
She shook the thought away as they hear the pounding of footsteps as the others walked in.
''Hey guys.''
Mikey threw his arms around him, ''Leo! your'e back dude!'' Raph chuckled a little, ''take it easy, let's get you out of here.'' Raph, Mikey and Donnie wrapped their arms around Leo and carried him downstairs.
Donnie took out his first aid kit and did an examination while Casey, April and Caitlin told Leo what was going on. ''So we've been here for three months? I've been out that long?''
April nodded, ''you had us worried sick Leo.'' Worst three months of my life Caitlin thought as April continued, ''Caitlin and Raph barely slept.''
''Ah it was nothing.''
''So why does he sound different?'' Casey asked. ''He's sustained damage in his throat, and pretty much everywhere else for that matter'' said Donnie.
Leo flinched in pain, ''here take some more of my patented mutagen medicine'' Donnie took out a bottle with some weird looking substance in it, and put it on a spoon as Leo drank it.
''Ugh, it tastes like it's supposed to come out of me, not go into me.'' Leo said with a shudder. Then he looked around and realized something was missing.
''Hey uh, guys where's Chris?'' everyone fell silent and Caitlin sat next to Leo. ''Leo, Chris….he um, he's missing.''
Leo stared at her shocked. ''Oh Caitlin I'm so sorry.'' Caitlin bit her lip trying not to cry. ''It's…ok…when we get back to the city…I'll find him.'' Leo wrapped his arms around her and brought her in close for a hug, but the pain was too much for him.
''Leo easy, easy…do you remember anything that happened?'' Leo groaned and held his head,''I remember Shredder's henchmen…and Chris he…did something…''
Caitlin looked at him a little shocked, but nodded. He doesn't remember Chris knocking him out, not yet anyway.
Raph walked over and sat on the other side of Leo ''first thing tomorrow, we're gonna start training again. You and me I'll have you on your feet in no time bro.''
*…*
Caitlin sat outside on the porch railing listening to the sounds of nature surround her. Raph and Leo had left for a walk about an hour ago and was waiting for them to come back.
''Thought you could use this.'' She turned around as she saw Mikey standing there a cup of tea in his hands. She smiled and gladly took it.
''Thanks Mikey'' she said as she took a sip. Mikey nodded and sat next to her. The two fell into a silence for a few minutes before Mikey spoke up.
''So what were you doing out here?''
''Just thinking. Wondering what's going on in the city, hoping that somewhere Chris, Master Splinter and Karai are safe…wherever they are.''
''Yeah…but I'm sure they are okay.'' Mikey looked over as he saw Caitlin staring down at her cup. ''Hey I'll make you a deal.''
''What kind of deal?''
''I won't give up hope if you don't.'' Caitlin almost couldn't stop the smile coming across her face. ''I won't give up.''
Mikey held his hand out to her, ''promise?'' Caitlin took it, ''promise.'' They were interuppted when they saw Raph and Leo coming out of the woods.
And Leo did not look good.
''Is he okay?'' ''Yeah Caitlin he'll be okay, just needs some rest'' said Raph as they walked inside. Caitlin and Mikey followed.
Later that night, everyone was just hanging out while also filling Leo in about what happened to Master Splinter. ''I just can't stop thinking about Master Splinter maybe he's not really gone.''
''We saw it happen,'' said Donnie ''Shredder threw him down a drainpipe.''
''Maybe Leo's right, I mean Splinter was a great ninja master'' said April. Raph sighed, ''the greatest in his century.''
They all fell silent as suddenly the power went out. ''No!'' Mikey screamed, ''it's just a blown fuse I'll fix it in two shakes of a turtles tail'' said Donnie as he went to the fusebox.
Suddenly, the fire that was keeping the place warm went out.
''Great looks like we need more firewood'' Raph said with a sigh and went outside before anyone could say anything.
Caitlin had a bad feeling about this.
*…*
A few minutes later, Raph had finished chopping up firewood when he heard a strange noise. ''Who's there?'' all was silent.
''Easy Raph, don't get parannoyed.'' Then he turned around and what he saw horrified him. ''Ah!''
*…*
A few hours later, the guys April, Casey and Caitlin were looking for Raph. ''RAPH!'' Mikey shouted, ''he's been gone for hours. RAPH!''
''Raph! can you hear us?'' Casey shouted, ''don't you think he answer?'' April replied.
''Guys, I gotta bad feeling about this'' Caitlin said trying to focus her powers. Leo nodded, ''alright we split up, April and Casey you take that way, Caitlin your'e on lookout, and Mikey and Donnie you take that way.''
Mikey gave him a weird look, ''split up? are you loco homie?''
''April and Casey off alone? together?!''
Leo glared at them, ''Mikey and Donnie take that way.'' Donnie sighed and went off with Mikey.
April looked at Leo, ''what about you?''
''I'll wait at the farmhouse in case Raph comes back. I won't be much help out there anyway.''
''Leo you-''
''I can't Caitlin.'' Caitlin sighed as the others headed into the woods. She followed Leo back to the farmhouse and sat next to him on the porch. ''What are you doing? I thought I said-''
''I'm not leaving you here along Leo. Besides, it's best if me and you stay together.'' Leo nodded and smiled a little bit at her. ''Thanks Caitlin.''
*…*
Meanwhile, April and Casey were walking through a section of the woods. ''I always hated these woods at night when I was a kid I was sure monsters were gonna creep out and eat me. Ah!''
April jumped back in fear and Casey turned on his flashlight, revealing it only to be a tree. ''No monsters here red, unless you count Casey Jones hoowwwlll!'' April slapped him, ''doofus.'' And kept walking.
Suddenly, April's powers kicked in. ''April what is it? you getting some bad vibes again?''
''I-I think something's watching us. Come on, let's keep moving.''
*…*
Meanwhile, Donnie and Mikey were walking through the other part of the woods. Mikey was still shouting Raph's name while Donnie was trying not to freak or think about Casey and April.
They kept walking until the reached what looked like an abandoned old shack. A very creepy old shack.
''Let's check it out, you go first'' said Mikey giving Donnie a little shove. He rolled his eyes and walked in.
They looked around until Donnie noticed something very familiar on a table. His mutagenic medicine. ''Oh no…'' suddenly Mikey covered his hand over his mouth as he pointed his flashlight at something strange.
A plant monster. ''Ah!'' the two brothers ran out of the shack as the creature followed him and Donnie got a closer look. ''I think it's Raph.''
''He's all leafy and weird looking, like a salad.'' ''Something must have infected him.'' Suddenly Mikey screamed as he was wrapped up in vines and another, larger, plant monster stood over Donnie.
He tried to get free, but it was too late.
*…*
Casey and April were still walking through the woods when they heard a scream. ''That's Donnie!'' they raced towards it, but suddenly Casey was gone.
And April was all alone.
''Casey? Casey! this isn't funny!'' She heard Casey scream and saw the plant monster holding him. She charged at it and hit it over the head with Casey's hockey stick.
But the monster got back up and they tried to fight it off, but it knocked Casey out and grabbed his hockey mask. ''Casey!'' April tried to help him, but the monster started chasing her until she was almost at the farmhouse.
*…*
Leo took a deep breath, ''get on your feet Leo, stop whining and get up.'' Caitlin touched his shoulder, ''Leo stop your gonna hurt yourself!''
''Leo! Caitlin!'' they turned around as they saw April running out of the woods. ''April!'' they shouted, as they tried reach her but a vine grabbed her ankle. ''Help!''
''April!''
*…*
Donnie woke up with his head pounding. It took him a minute to going until he saw Mikey tied up in vines and remember everything. Including his other brother who was a plant monster.
Raph glared at them with his dark mutagenic eyes and barked at them. ''Easy Raph try and remember were your brothers. ''
''Yeah you can come home with us and live in the attic I'll give you gross sticks and swamp water every single day I swear.'' Raph stopped growling at them and looked up at them smiling.
But that was interrupted when the door slammed open and the plant monster walked in. ''Ah it's the creep!'' Mikey looked over at Donnie, ''that's what I'm calling him.''
The Creep walked in with April and Casey and set them down. Then he walked over to plant Raph as he whimpered in fear. The Creep grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and then the strangest thing happened.
He sucked out the mutagen from Raph's body, turning him into a plant. Mikey was pissed, ''you turned my brother into a plant you turned my brother into a plant!''
The Creep looked at him and went to suck up his mutagen, when they all heard something outside. ''Help! help!'' The Creep went to go see who it was, but the others and Donnie knew. ''Leo…''
The Creep walked outside, as they waited for the worst, but again unexpected they saw Caitlin sneak in. ''Caitlin?!''
''Shh do you want that thing to come back?'' She looked around, ''where's Raph?'' ''over there'' Mikey said indicating to the plant that was now Raph. ''Your kidding.''
''Nope were not, where's Leo?'' Caitlin fell silent and Donnie looked at her, ''Caitlin?''
''Let's just say, he's got it covered.''
*…*
The Creep had been outside looking around for who made the noise, but he saw nothing and turned back towards the shack.
Then a throwing star hit the back of his head.
He turned back around and saw Leo standing there. ''Give me back my family freak.'' The Creep charged at him and Leo did his best to avoid his attacks, knocking the mask off.
But The Creep grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground. Leo tried to get back up as The Creep stalked him getting closer and closer, and when he did Leo stabbed him with the walking cane he had been using.
He then made his way to the shack where the others were. Caitlin sighed in relief, ''Leo, thank God. Help me get them out of here.''
Leo nodded and sliced the vines off the others as he noticed the plant sitting there. ''What the heck is that?''
''It's Raph, long story'' said Donnie, ''we gotta get out of here before that thing comes back.''
Too late, The Creep was heading straight for them. They boarded up the door and took out there weapons getting ready to fight.
All was quiet. Too quiet.
They screamed in fear as The Creep launched through the window. They fought him off and used all their weapons on him at once. But he made his way in knocking them back.
Then Leo noticed the bottle of mutagenic medicine on the table, and realized that The Creep like it or was connected to it somehow.
He tossed it to April, who tossed it to Caitlin, who tossed it to Donnie then Mikey and then Leo stabbed it with a pitchfork and April, Caitlin and Casey tied it to a tree with chains.
''That's what you get for messing with my mask freak'' Casey growled glaring at the Creep.
''That should him, now come on we gotta get back him to the lab.'' Leo looked at him, ''you really think you can save Raph?''
''Honestly, I don't know Leo. I just don't know.''
*…*
''Yes!''
''Oh no, Raph look at him! it's terrible.''
''What do mean? he's perfectly normal.'' April reached over and put Raph's mask on. ''How bout now Mikey?''
''Phew, yeah way better.'' Raph rolled his eyes and him and pushed Mikey away, ''what in the heck is going on?''
''A crazy swamp monster sucked out your mutagen and turned you into a plant dude, it was awesome'' said Casey.
''But I used this Iv tube to drain all the mutagen out of The Creep, and back into your body. Cool right? killed off the infection like a bad case of shell acne.'' (wink wink)
''Donnie worked all night to save you,'' said April, ''Caitlin and Leo never left your side.'' Raph was shocked as he looked up as he saw Caitlin sitting on a hay bail and Leo smiled at him.
''That's what brothers are for. We gotta heal up Raph we gotta city to take back.''
Caitlin nodded, ''and family to find.'' ''I give that a big, fat, sloppy wet, booyakasha!''
And wherever you are Chris, I promise I'm gonna find you.
