Thirty-Eight: Battle for New York(part 1)

About a week later, Kraang were still roaming the streets and had control over New York. And inside the pizzeria, Mikey was messing around in Donnie's temporary lab with Ice Cream Kitty.

''Hm, I do believe this plutonium should react flawlessly sodium bi carbonates,'' said Mikey in a fake british accent. ''What do you think Professor Ice Cream Kitty?''

''Meow.''

''Then perhaps we should add this hydroball solution to Donnie's retro-mutagen…''

Donnie's eyes grew wide as he walked into the room. ''Mikey….HAVE YOU LOST YOUR'E SHELL?!''

''Pish posh and tut-tut my good man.''

''I've been brewing that retro mutagen for months! if you ruin it I swear I'll-''

''Hold on dude, I got this.''

Mikey tried pouring the retro-mutagen into his own batch, and Donnie tried to stop him, but a small drop fell into the mutagen.

''It's gonna explode!''

*…*

The retro mutagen looked like it was going to explode at any moment but…it didn't. It just turned a different color. ''Huh well that was weak.'' Donnie glared at him and tackled him.

''I'm gonna teach you such a lesson!' but before Donnie could, Master Splinter came in and pinched the sides of their necks. ''What is going on in here?''

''Sensei! Mikey tried to-''

Before Donnie could finish, Caitlin and April raced in. ''Since when did retro mutagen start doing that?!''

Donnie quickly raced over and took a sample as the others walked in. He stuck it under his microscope and his eyes grew wide.

''Wow, it's bonding rate is phenomenal haha! I can't believe it this will save me months of lab work! ok let me see on small drop…and I'm able to transform and entire vile of mutagen into retro mutagen! Mikey you're amazing!''

''I know'' Mikey said with a grin as he sat on the couch. ''Wow, did we step into some kind of alternate dimension here?'' Raph said a little shocked.

''Okay what chemicals did you use to help create the rapid cellular bonding?''

''Uh, I think I added a bunch of stuff like urinade, analite, moronic acid, and some garlic cappuccino pizza?''

Raph rolled his eyes, ''nope same dimension.''

''Are you kidding me? you do one awesome thing! and you can't even remember how you did it?!''

''Donatello, be glad the Michaelangelo's tomfoolery yielded the gift that it did. Focus on the goal at hand. You must find all of the transformed people of New York and change them back'' said Master Splinter.

''But Sensei we don't even know what happened to them'' said Leo. Caitlin looked over at April, ''I think we do.''

April nodded, ''They were taken to Dimension X by the Kraang. I can see them in my dreams, millions of mutated humans…trapped there.''

Caitlin nodded, ''No escape for them…''

''So we drop into TCRI break into their portal and zap ourselves into Dimension X'' said Raph getting excited to bust some Kraang heads.

''Whoa hold it guys,'' said Caitlin ''Donnie do you think this stuff could work for Karai?''

''I don't know, as I said before Caitlin Karai's mutation is unique. Then again…''

''Well there's only one way to find out for sure'' she walked over to the vile and took a sample of the retro mutagen. ''I'm going to find them.''

''Are you sure?'' Donnie asked her, ''it might not even work.''

''I have to try. And I have a feeling that this will work for her.''

Leo walked over and put an arm around her waist. ''Okay Caitlin you can go, just promise me you'll be careful and keep in touch.''

Caitlin nodded,''I promise.''

Caitlin snuck throughout the streets of New York trying to avoid the Kraang while also looking for Chris and Karai. Guys where are you? please be okay….

Caitlin was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her t-phone vibrate and she ducked into an alley.

''Hello?''

''Caitlin you okay?'' Caitlin sighed a little bit in relief when she heard Leo's voice. ''Yeah, yeah I'm okay.''

''Any sign of them?''

''Nothing yet, but I'm still looking. What about you?''

''Leatherhead!''

''And what the heck was that?''

''That's Mikey. Listen, we ran into some old allies, and enemies…''

''I heard that!'' a voice shouted.

''And Slash is not our enemy Leo!'' Caitlin heard Raph say.

Caitlin was really confused, ''Leo what's going on?''

She heard Leo sigh, ''as I said we ran into some old allies of ours. And…others.'' She heard someone growl in the background.

''They helped us defeat some Kraang who were going to mutate some humans and now were going to meet their benefactor, I'll call you later when we know more.''

Caitlin nodded, ''Okay be careful Leo. Love you.''

''Love you to Caitlin and you be careful to. Good luck.'' Caitlin said good bye one more time before hanging up and putting her phone in her pocket.

''Guess I should get going.''

But she didn't get far before someone attacked her from behind.

She gets kicked in the back knocking her to the ground, but she recovered in time to get back up. Looking over where she got kicked she sees who attacked her and recognized who it was.

"Hello girly, remember me?"

She recognized that voice and slowly stood up. ''I know. You're that chump that beat up my brother and took down me and Karai causing us to get captured by Shredder.''

"And caused your friend to become a mutated snake freak. I'm sure you remember that, you were there," said Talsein acting all calm and not on his guard.

Caitlin glared at him, ''Of course. I'll never forget it.'' Before Talsein could do anything, Caitlin used her powers and threw him into a wall.

She pulled him off against the wall and slammed him again and tossed him across the ground. However, as she approached him she hears him begin to laugh, as if nothing happened to him.

"Oh I knew you were still pissed, but I didn't expect this," he said as he slowly gets up, only to be caught by Caitlin's power and tossed back to the wall breaking it. He continued laughing, but he began to die down when he saw Caitlin approach him again. "You done with your little anger tantrum?"

Caitlin glared at him her eyes piercing, but calmed down. ''For now. What do you want you jerk?''

Talsein slowly got up while dusting off the dirt off his clothes. "First of all I would have expected your momma to teach you better than to say such bad things towards someone. Then again your momma is dead and you were raised by the same guy that killed your friend's momma. So it seems you both have a lot in common in that department."

Caitlin growled, ''Don't you dare talk about my mother!'' she used her powers again and slammed him against the wall a few more times.

However as she stopped he began laughing, only it was for a few seconds before he quietted down. "Such temper. I bet you got it from daddy Shredder huh?" He noticed she was going to use her powers again, but before she could he swipes kicks her legs causing her to fall. He grabs her by the neck and slams her into the wall. "Doesn't feel good when your being hit huh?"

She struggled to break free, but he kept a tight grip around her neck and kept her from focusing. Once he saw she was too weakened to do anything he lets her go allowing her to breath again.

"Sorry about that. Just getting tired of your little trick and besides I didn't come to kill you. Instead I came to talk to you and make an offer."

Caitlin coughed trying to catch her breath. ''I don't make deals with enemies. Especially those who work for Shredder.''

Talsein's smile vanished as he walks passed Caitlin and walks a few inches from her. "Well, its a good thing I'm not working for him. You see after you and your friend were captured, Shredder fired me. So that means we're no longer allies."

Caitlin still glared at him still seeing him as an enemy. ''I still don't trust you.''

"And I don't care," he replied as he turns to face her. "However, it doesn't change the fact that we both have something in common. We both don't like Shredder, feel that he needs to be stopped, and both want him taken out. That is why I am here to see you and make you an offer. Help me take him down and I'll help you."

''I don't trust you. It doesn't matter what you offer or what we have in common. Nothing will get me to work with you after all that you did.''

"Not even to save your brother and his girlfriend?" this got Caitlin's attention. ''What?''

"It seems after you and your friends left them at the pier, Shredder's men captured them and brought them to their master," Talsein tosses Caitlin a phone where it showed a picture of Chris and Karai in cages in Shredder's lair. "They've been taken to where insect man is at. Your brother has not been mutated, but from what I heard it won't be long before Shredder decides to do something to him to use against you."

''…No, no it's not possible…''

Talsein begins walking around Caitlin while also trying to get her to accept his deal. "Now, you could go to your friends to go break into the Shredder's lair, but we both know they are too busy trying to save the people and by the time they finish they won't be physically ready to go after Shredder. By the time you all can go save your friends it will probably be too late. However, I have a way to save your brother and your friend without the turtles getting hurt."

Caitlin was interested, but it wasn't enough to be on her guard. ''How do I know that this isn't a trick?And why would you want to help me?''

"Let's just say he did something no one should ever do," he stops in front of her and replies in a stern tone. "He crossed me."

Caitlin was silent. ''And you want revenge?''

"Something like that. So I'll help you free your sibling and friend, without of course telling your friends," Talsein explained. "In exchange for me helping you, you will help me. So, do we have a deal?"

Caitlin though about it but she was unsure about going through with the deal and about not telling Leo. However, she knew that if she does tell the others they will need to rest from their fight against the Kraang, come up with a plan, and risk running into a trap. Not wanting to risk her brother getting hurt and Shredder doing something to Karai.

Before she could answer though she gotta call from Leo and she picked up. ''Caitlin everything okay? did you find them?''

Caitlin looked at Talsein one more time before she knew she would hate herself later, but she had to lie. ''Yeah don't worry Leo everything is fine. I got everything under control.''

''Are you sure?''

''Yeah Leo I'm sure, don't worry go stop the Kraang.''

Leo nodded, ''Okay, good luck Caitlin.''

''I will.'' After they said goodbye, Caitlin hanged up and looked at Talsein. ''Okay, I accept your deal.''

*…*

Leo had a bad feeling about this, as he and his brothers followed Slash and the others as they lead the turtles to meet their benefactor.

They lead them to an old warehouse, and left them. I knew it was a trap! the lights an the turtles took out their weapons ready to go down fighting, until they heard a familiar voice.

''Greetings ninja turtles.''

''Kurtzman?''

The lights turned off revealing the man who the turtles met a while ago. ''Good to see you boys, been a long time.''

''We thought you got mutated like the rest of New York'' said Raph a little shocked he was still around.

''I made it through. I tried to find you four but you were gone. Fourtnately I found these noble warriors to keep up the fight against the Kraang.''

''I wouldn't exactly call them all noble'' Leo muttered.

''No one in the outside world knows what's really going on,'' Kurtzman continued ''the military, the media, their no help. There all controlled by the Kraang. But now that the turtles are back we can stop the invasion together.''

''What?!'' Leo and Slash glared at each other.

''No way!''

''I'm not teaming up with him!''

Kurtzman slammed his hand down on his desk, ''that's enough! we can't afford to waste anymore time.''

He pulled out a projector and turned off the lights showing the turtles the Kraang has planned. ''The Kraang have spent the last few months building a mutagen missile which they're gonna fire at Earth itself.''

Things got awkward when a picture of a lizard lady was shown and Raph looked at it confused. ''Uh, just ignore that.''

''There's enough mutagen in that payload-''

''To mutate the Earth into another Dimension X'' Rockwell interrupted.

Donnie rolled his eyes, ''It's rude to finish other people's sentences Rockwell.''

''Well maybe you should speak faster Donatello.''

Slash growled, ''If you think I'm gonna work with this scrawny shell-''

''There's no way I'm going to-''

As the turtles and the mutanimals started bickering, Kurtzman heard something outside. ''Oh no…they found me! I don't know how but they found me!''

Suddenly, the doors burst open revealing a army of Kraang droids, Bio droids, came storming in. ''It is the ones known as the turtles, and the others calling themselves the mighty mutanimals.''

''Get e'm!''

They charged into the fight trying to fight as many Kraang as they could, as Kurtzman watched in fear. But then he realized something.

''The Kraang intel!'' quickly he raced to his laptop and was able to get the information onto a flash drive, but the Kraang fired at him, shooting him in the back.

''No!''

''Mr. Kurtzman!''

*…*

Meanwhile deep in Shredder's dungeon, Chris was locked in his cell restrained to a metal table standing up while Hayami, was sitting on the floor, hands and legs tied up. There were also two turrets inside the cell targeting the two making sure they did not try anything.

Chris knew breaking free of his restraints was not going to work with how he is restrained. He can't move his hands, legs, and body. He could still move his head, which he is thankful for since he could look over where he sees on the other side is Karai locked in her own cell. Just seeing her okay and not harmed has been able to keep him calm without doing anything nuts.

He recalled how they were both heading someplace safe to rest when they were attacked by Tiger Claw and the two mutants they fought earlier. Tiger Claw caught him off-guard, which allowed him to be captured easily while Chris looked on as Karai got captured. He thought if he was locked in a cell where he could move he would get out to save Karai, but after waking up he saw his chances of escaping has gone out the window. At least he has a cellmate, who explained to him what is going on and what the turrets would do even if he did get out.

"So, what does Shredder have plan for me? Any news?" he asked.

Hayami, who usually would keep to herself, especially after getting captured was being more talkative towards Chris. Mostly because she wanted to learn more about him and to find out what she needs to for her master.

She shook her head in response to Chris ''Whatever it is, does not look to be the case at the moment. Shredder seemed more focused on restoring his 'daughter' back to normal.''

Chris let out a small frustrated sigh knowing Karai is not Shredder's daughter and she is like that because of his stupid obsession for vengeance. That is why he needed to get out soon to save her.

Suddenly, Shredder walked in to see what the progress was on the cure for Karai.

''How is the process coming along Stockman?''

''So far so buzz, good master. Though I may need a few more chemicals.''

Shredder nodded, as he looked over at Karai who hissed at him from her cage.

''I swear Karai, it will all be over soon.''

Karai glared at him as she hissed at him again.

"You might as well call her by her real name," said Chris getting the Shredder's attention. "We all know who she really is and that she isn't your daughter. So stop acting like you think she is still yours, because she is not."

Shredder turned towards him. ''She is mine boy, I saved her from having a life with Hamato Yoshi. Raised her as my own.''

"Oh yeah and look how things turned out," Chris replied in a sarcastic tone. "You lied to her for years about the truth, you locked her in a dungeon, you then mutated her into a snake, and you keep justifying your actions claiming to be better than Splinter. Well guess what you psychotic bastard. You are nothing compared to Splinter who despite being a rat, is more of a man than you and your freakish mutant henchmen."

Shredder continued to glare at him and growled under his breath. ''You watch your tongue boy. Or I'll have to cut it out.''

"Tough words, too bad you can't back them up, especially how your too scared to free me from this table so we can see if your quick enough to back up your threat."

''Watch what you say to me boy.''

"Or what?"

Shredder looked over at Stockman who pressed a button that had been put in Chris's cell shocking him. Chris screamed in pain and Karai watched in anger.

Shredder continued shocking Chris as he screamed in pain. ''Stockman, that is enough.'' Stockman turned off the machine and Shredder walked over to Chris. ''I hope you've learned your'e lesson boy. You do not mess with me.'' And with that he walked away.

Chris began breathing heavily as Karai continued watching on concerned. Hayami stared at Chris emotionless and waited for him to recover before she spoke.

"Why do you continue to mock him? You knew what he was going to do."

Chris began to laugh a little before he replied back. "Because, I want him to know that no matter what he does to me he will never break me. I will get out of here, I will get Karai out, heck I'll even get you out, and when we do I'm going to kick Shredder's ass.''

Karai watched him sadly from her cage. ''C-Chris…''

She looked at him one last time before curling up in the corner of her cage.
