Chapter 36 -
His life was fading, the twitching of his fingers slowed, his soft breathing shortened and his heart slowed it's beating. Everyone else were silent apart from the crying and sniffing, Astrid was paralysed looking at Hiccup, Valka and Stoick comforted each other, Seth and Darius could not take their eyes off the ground, the twins couldn't focus their eyes on anything, Fishlegs wished it was a dream, Gobber looked to the sky and mouthed a prayer, Snotlout shed small tears and suddenly spoke up
"Guys it's time, We let Hiccup suffer for too long! For years we mistreated him and look what's happened, I know we cannot take back what we did, what I did but I am damn sure going to avenge my cousin by slashing off the head of any of Drago's soldiers I see!"
"Aye I'm with you lad" Gobber stated
"Me to" Fishlegs announced
"Count us in" The twins cracked their knuckles
"Helheim is coming for you Drago!" Seth roared
"So is my blade" Darius replied
"I will avenge my son, with pure fury and rage!" Stoick yelled
All the dragons roared, Toothless started to stir and opened his eyes after the commotion and raised his head to look at Hiccup, Toothless instantly ran towards his friend and sniffed him. Toothless then cried and roared in anguish resting his head next to Hiccup's.
Astrid suddenly stood up, with her back to the others who had announced their revenge, she the clutched her axe tight, she turned and looked at the others.
Fear struck all of them when they saw Astrid's face, Her teeth were bared, eyes bloodshot and full of rage, and then she spoke.
"I...Will...Kill...You...For...This...DRAGO!" She absolutely roared the last part, and ran towards Stormfly, jumped onto her back and instantly shot off towards the village.
Everyone else apart from Stoick, Valka and Toothless followed. "Val.." Stoick started, "Go avenge our son, I need to be with him" Valka said, and Stoick simply nodded and got onto Skullcrusher and followed the others.
Toothless suddenly began to drag a piece of Hiccup's black scaled armour towards Valka and laid it infront of her, and then dropped a dagger in front of her, Valka was confused but then Toothless raised his paw to show the underside of his foot, "Toothless it's just a legend" Valka explained, but Toothless growled in defiance and Valka sighed and nodded.
Drago using Hel Flash began to destroy building after building with Helheim's Rage, the destruction was terrifying, fortunately all the villagers had left for safety but the village was now on ruins, the few soldiers who remain began to loot for items of value. Drago landed in the centre of the village and looked at the destruction and smirked.
Suddenly multiple landing dragons made the ground shake being Drago who turned around to see the riders, they all got off their dragons and all stared at Drago with the intent of killing him, Astrid and Stoick in particular were shaking with rage and hatred, soldiers began to form ranks behind Drago. "Drago Bludvist I challenge you" Astrid yelled pointing at Drago, "Astrid what are you..." Stoick started but was cut off by a death glare from her, "Hmm I accept the opportunity to send you to Hiccup" Drago replied as he drew his axe as Astrid readied hers and both fighters stepped forward to meet.
"Come on Cloudjumper" Valka patted the dragon on the head as he raced towards the village, Valka gasped as she saw the destruction and she looked down and saw Astrid and Drago battling with Drago having the upper hand, She and Cloudjumper landed behind the other riders and ran to Stoick, "We have to help her" Valka commented, "We can't, the Soldiers behind Drago all have bows aimed at us, we move towards the fight, then we're dead" Stoick sighed.
Drago suddenly swiped Astrid axe out of her hands and grabbed her throat with a vice like grip choking her, Astrid gasped for air, "Say hello to Hiccuo for me!" Drago laughed as he raised his axe prepared to to take the final swing, all the riders couldn't look and covered their ears.
Sccccrrrrrrreeeereccccchhhh
Drago's eyes widened and he losened his grip slightly but kept Astrid in hos grasp, suddenly he hears yelling and scream behind him, Drago looked behind him and not only saw his solders on the floor in pain, but saw a rage filled Night Fury approaching growling ferociously, Drago's breathing became heavier.
Click, clink, clink
The noise was in the rhythm of footsteps but only one foot, Drago then turned to where that noise was coming from, it seemed to be coming from the riders who all were looking over their shoulder and were gasping.
They seperated down the middle, allowing the figure making the noise to pass through, he had armoured greaves and boots on but no shirt, his top half was bare, and as he walked past each rider they gasped at the sight they saw, He had scales in a perfect line going down his back, but they weren't any scales they were black and Fishlegs mouthed something that no one else heard, it was the species of dragon that the scales came from.
Drago's heartrate quickened and his shaking increased as looked at the figure that stood infront of him, Valka then grinned. "It was a legend, how was this possible, you should be in Helheim Now!" Drago shouted.
He then threw Astrid at the figure who caught her in an embrace, her head hit the figure's chest and she gasped and the what she felt, she slowly lifted her head to look at the face of the person who captured her and teats formed in her eyes.
"How is this possible" She asked sobbing
"Because not even Helheim can keep me from you" The figure spoke softly as he stroked her face gently.
The figure then leaned in and met his lips with hers briefly for confirmation that it wasn't a dream.
"I love you Astrid" The figure stated rubbing her face again
"And I love you... Hiccup"
Astrid then stepped aside as Drago looked as the man he killed stood on front of him now staring directly at Drago with murderous rage in his eyes and what struck Drago with fear the most was that his advisory was growling just like Toothless.
He's back!
