Jinora was sitting at the edge of the training grounds, watching as Kai leaped from pole to pole. "Kai, I still don't think you should be up there. It rained yesterday, the poles could be slippery. What if you fall?"

Kai came to a stop on one of the poles to face his new girlfriend. "I won't fall. I have an airbending master all to myself to catch me if I do."

"I don't think I will be very helpful if you fall."

Kai shrugged her off as he prepared to jump to the next poll. "Hey Jinora, check this out." Kai jumped up, reaching five meters with the use of airbending, he flipped twice. His toes hit the pole and slipped, causing him to panic and fall backwards.

"Kai!" Jinora ran over to the fallen airbender, who was now crying in pain, along with some nearby air acolytes.

"My leg. It hurts."

Jinora looked down to find the leg bent at an awkward angle. "Don't move. Can someone get my mum? She should be in the lounge room."

An air acolyte gave a nod and began running towards the lounge room of the family home. She slid the door open to find Lin and Rohan playing with some blocks on the floor. "Chief Beifong! Jinora asked me to get you, Kai fell and we think he broke his leg!"

Lin quickly stood up, adrenalin already pumping through her veins. "Where is he?"

"The poles."

"You stay here with Rohan."

The acolyte didn't argue. She looked down at the baby, a look of uncertainty on her face. "Uh, hello?"

Lin found Kai on the ground, groaning and crying in pain. "This is why I tell you kids not to use the polls without spotters."

"Lin," Kai sniffled slightly as he spoke, "now isn't the time for a lecture."

"Alright kid, this is going to hurt a little." Lin knelt down and took the leg into her hands, feeling for any breaks. She moved it in a certain direction, causing Kai to cry out in pain.

"Is he okay?"

"He definitely has a broken leg."

"Can you fix it?"

Lin looked up at her daughter, trying to reassure her with a smile. "I can set it and put it in a cast."

Kai's eyes widened in realisation. "What do you mean set it?"

"Well, if you want your leg to get better, I need to set it."

An old acolyte stepped forward, hoping to give Lin some assistance. "Chief Beifong, would you like me to retrieve some bandages?"

"No thank you." Lin took a rock into her hand, contorting it until it resembled a knife.

Kai began to sweat nervously. "Why do you need to do that?!"

"I need to look at your leg and your pants are in the way."

"Please don't, people are watching. Can't we call a doctor?"

"Kai, I have two sons, and a husband, you haven't got anything I haven't seen before and I'm pretty sure these laddies are mature enough not to laugh. Besides, you're wearing boxers right?"

"Yeah, but it doesn't mean I like having my pants taken off."

"Tough luck." Lin began to gingerly cut away at the pants, until she was able to rid Kai of them. "Was that so hard?"

Kai looked away in embarrassment "No." He looked over at Jinora to find her blushing and looking away. "Can I change my answer?"

She took Kai's leg into her hands, prodding lightly with a finger to feel where the break is. "Okay kid, breath out for me. One, two." Kai screamed out in pain as the bones grinded against each other. She proceeded to bend the mud onto his leg, hardening it until it formed a cast. "All done. Lets get you out of the mud and cold." Lin picked the young boy up, much to his dismay.

"Your mother, has no bedside manners."

"I can and will drop you."

"Just an observation Chief."

Jinora shrugged. "That's only because she knows you have kissed me. Just be thankful she knows her stuff."

"You told her!?"

Lin looked down at him with a scowl. "She tells me everything."

Kai felt like he was about to burst into flames from her gaze.

They entered the home where Lin put Kai down on the couch, before turning back to the acolyte who was looking after Rohan. "Thank you for watching him."

"It was my pleasure."

"Alright Kai, you sit tight, I'm going to run you a bath. Jinora, please make sure Rohan doesn't put anything in his mouth."

"No problem mum." Jinora turned back to Kai, a grin on her face. "So, bunny rabbit boxers?"

Kai groaned. "I was hoping they were too faded to see."

"Well, you do realise my mother is going to see you naked before I do right?"

"I did not think of that. Do you think she will close her eyes?"

"Two sons and a husband, remember?"
