i can't believed i laughed while writing this. such a nerd. written for beifong week, day: joke/april fools. anyway, read, review and enjoy.

"Come on Sokka! It will be funny. When was the last time we played a prank?"

"Don't you think this joke is too much? Remember last week when you made a huge middle finger and put it on Air Temple Island?"

"It wasn't that big."

"Toph, It could be seen from my office."

Lin smirked at the memory of sneaking onto the island late at night and then having Katara call her office early in the morning to yell at her. "Can't believe she didn't have a heart attack. Just play along Sokka. This isn't going to hurt anyone."

Sokka threw his hands up in the air in exasperation. "Okay but I'm going to blame you if something bad happens."

The two adults walked into the dining room of Air Temple Island, where their family was seated. The five children were busy arguing over something childish, while Aang and Katara dished out meals onto plates for everyone. "Hey Toph, glad to see you could get some time off from work."

"Me too Katara, though it's only for tonight. An officer never sleeps and all that business." Aang placed glasses in front of the adults and began to pour them all sake. "None for me Twinkletoes."

The Avatar's pouring halted, as he looked up at her with a shocked expression on his face. "What? But it's tradition. You're the one that actually started it."

"I know I started it, but I can't have any alcohol."

"Why?"

"Well I thought I'd let Sokka tell you why I can't drink."

Toph elbowed Sokka in his side, prompting him to start talking. "Toph and I have an announcement." Placing a hand on her stomach, the councilman looked her in the eyes lovingly, even if she couldn't see it. "We are having a baby. We just found out this morning."

The room fell silent as everyone turned to look at the adults. What happened next, no one expected. Lin launched herself across the table and tackled Sokka to the ground, shaking him by the shirt like a rag doll. "You promised no more babies! I trusted you!"

"Toph! Help me."

The earthbender suppressed her laughs in order to take the screaming ten year old into her arms. "Calm down badge-"

"And you! You promised never to have sex again after you gave birth to that thing!" Everyone followed Lin's finger, to see it pointing at her sister, with a confused look on her face. "And you want me to calm down?! When will you learn some responsibility?! You're forty-four, you're too old to have another kid. And three different guys! THREE! At least this one might st-"

Toph clamped a hand over her daughter's mouth, effectively shutting her up. "Badgermole, It's a joke. I'm not pregnant. But nice to know that I'm old."

Lin relaxed in her mother's arms after being told she won't be getting another sibling. "I suddenly wish I could forget all this."

"Well you're never too young to start drinking. Aang, we need another glass."
