i never thought i would write a fic that included farting. anyway, this is what came to mind when i thought 'beifong reunion'

anyway, read, review and enjoy

Lin Beifong was a simple woman. She enjoyed going to work in the morning and then coming home in the late afternoon to collapse on the couch with a cold beer, while listening to soft jazz on her radio. Her usual ritual was interrupted when there was a knock at her door. Letting out a groan, the earthbender stood up to tell whoever it was, to go away.

Opening the door, Lin was surprised to see her family, including her mother, standing there with suitcases in their hands. "What's all this?"

Su cocked her head to the side in confusion. "Didn't you invite us to stay with you for a week?"

"I think I would remember inviting eight people to stay with me."

"But mum said-" Su needn't say anymore. The Beifong sister's turned to glare at their mother, who had her hands clasped behind her back as though she had done nothing wrong. "You didn't."

"Didn't do what?" Toph walked past Lin into the lounge where she took her previously occupied seat and helped herself to the open bottle of beer. "You have great taste badgermole."

"I'm going to kill her."

"Lin, we can always go to a hotel if you're uncomfortable with this."

"No no. It's fine. As long as the kids don't mind sharing beds."

Su ignored her children's protests at learning they will be breathing the same air for a week. "That would be fantastic."

"WEI, I swear, if you fart again, I will kill you." Receiving no retort from his little brother, Huan closed his eyes, finally ready to sleep in peace, when a high-pitched 'toot' ripped through the nighttime air. "WEI!"

"It wasn't me! It was Wing."

Huan rolled on his side to face his other brother, to see him grinning like an idiot. "You, are, disgusting."

"Loud and proud brother, loud and proud." Wing and Wei started passing gas on purpose, causing Huan to groan in annoyance.

"Why did I get stuck sleeping between you two?"

"Because you didn't want to sleep between mum and dad.

"Mum, are you still awake?"

"Yes Junior."

"Dad is snoring really loudly. I don't remember him ever snoring."

"Well, you can blame your aunt for that one."

Baatar Junior rolled on his side to better hear his mother. "What did she do?"

"Well, it was two years ago. I was staying with Lin while I helped Opal settle in at Air Temple Island. Your father came to see how things were progressing. He got up in the early hours of the morning to go to the bathroom and accidentally walked in on Lin in the shower. She knocked him out where he stood."

Baatar held his breath in an effort not to laugh. "What happened afterwards?"

"Well, I got him an ice pack and put his nose back in place. And he told me 'did you know she has a tattoo on her shoulder blade?'"

"Aunty Lin has a tattoo?"

"Yep. It's a tattoo of the Beifong flying boar, over the RCPD emblem, within a circle. She got it when she was eighteen."

"Does grandma Toph know?"

"I'm not sure."

Lin was rolled up in a ball on her side, as her mother pounded her back with her fists. "I, told, you, no, tattoos!"

"Stop hitting me you hag. I'm a fifty year old woman, I can do what I want."

"But you got it when you were eighteen, which means you hid it from me for thirty two years!"

"Wow, you can count." Lin's sarcasm was met with another flurry of punches. "Also, you weren't around for seventeen of them."

"Stop sassing me!"

"Opal?"

The young airbender was curled up on the edge of the bed, keeping far away from the two fighting Beifongs as much as possible. "Yes aunty Lin?"

"Next time I signal you to keep your mouth shut, do it. And stop hitting me!"
