Chapter Eleven

Olivia stood, walking over to the dresser. She had been staying at Fitz' apartment so much, that she had a drawer of her own. She put on a matching black lace underwear and bra set, exhaling slightly. She went to the closet, looking for something to wear.

Fitz sat up in his bed, silent. It had been 15 minutes, and Olivia still hadn't said a word to him after his unofficial proposal. He watched as she took out a beige pantsuit and white tank top, and laid it on the foot of the bed.

"Olivia."

She kept moving around the room, going back to the closet to grab a pair of heels.

"Olivia!"

"We're going to be late for the appoint-"

"Olivia damn it, look at me!"

She looked up at him, glaring. His eyes met hers, and her expression softened. He looked as if he was physically in pain and anguish, and she knew that she had hurt him by not answering. She walked over to his side of the bed, siting down in his lap. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close to his chest. He closed his eyes, just enjoying the feeling of her being in his arms.

"Fitz, I-"

"I'm not saying no. I'm not saying I don't want to marry you. Because I do, I have every intention of being with you for the rest of my life. But I want to make sure that you're not just doing this now because of what happened last week. I want to make sure we're doing this in our own time, not because Melody Windsor's psychotic ass is claiming you're the father of her child. I know you're scared, and I know you're stressed. But I promise, I'm not going anywhere. We can wait to be engaged, we can wait to be married. If you still want to get married after the doctor's appointment today, then I'll say yes, and we'll be engaged. But don't just do this because of her. We deserve better than that." She looked up at him, hoping what she said made sense to him.

Olivia loved Fitz with every ounce and fiber of her being, but she couldn't agree to being engaged just because he felt like his life was spiraling out of control. Fitz nodded, his body visually relaxing.

"I love you, Liv."

"I love you, too. Now, let's get you some clothes so we can go get this over with. No matter the outcome, we're in this together. Forever and always, right?"

Fitz smiled, kissing her nose. "Always and forever."

Olivia and Fitz walked hand in hand into the doctor's office. Dr. Gideon Wallace was known as one of the best obstetrician's in New York. Fitz gave his name with the receptionist, and after another ten minutes, he was called into the back. As he and Olivia walked into the back, the receptionist called after them.

"Miss? I'm sorry, but only family members are allowed to be back he-"

"She's my wife." Fitz stated simply. He brought Olivia's hand to his lips, kissing the back of it. They walked in the patient room to find Mellie there. When she laid eyes on Olivia, she scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"Good to know that on one of the most important days of our lives, you bring your little homewrecking slut along."

"Okay, listen up, Melody. This is your only warning. Call me a slut, whore, bitch, or any other word outside of my name, and I can promise you that you'll regret it. I don't give a fuck if you're pregnant and pissed because your ex boyfriend doesn't want you, nor can he stand the sight of you. You will have respect for me, or as my friend Harrison likes to say," she leaned in close to Mellie before saying, "talk shit, get hit. Are we clear?"

Fitz chuckled, kissing Olivia's forehead. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "Down, tiger."

Mellie glared at Olivia, while Olivia winked and blew a kiss at her.

At that moment, Dr. Wallace walked in the room. He looked fairly young; his brown hair slightly sweeping into his line of view. His eyes were a mixture of green and hazel, and it would be impossible to deny that he was handsome. At his arrival, both ladies straightened up, while Fitz glared at him.

"Good morning ladies and sir, to what do I owe this pleasure?"

Fitz spoke up, his tone not exactly welcoming. "My ex girlfriend is claiming that she's pregnant with my child, which I know is impossible because I avoided sleeping with her at all costs, and I want a paternity test."

"And your ex-girlfriend is which of these two ladies?" Dr. Wallace asked with discomfort.

Fitz didn't speak, he just pointed at Mellie. She shook hands with the doctor, smiling uncomfortably.

Dr. Wallace then turned his attention on Olivia while speaking to Mellie, a slight glimmer in his eyes. He took her hand, bringing it to his lips. "So this gorgeous creature in front of me is here as your moral support then?" The next turn of events happened so suddenly.

As quickly as the words left the doctor's lips, Fitz had him up against the door, his hands clutching the doctor's shirt. The sweet, alluring, calming eyes that Olivia loved so much, changed drastically; they were aflame with anger, and Fitz had a look as if he were going to murder the man. Olivia pried at his hands, begging him to stop. It was as if he couldn't hear her.

"Listen here, you piece of shit. If you even so much as look at my girlfriend again like that, I'll have your PhD taken away before you can even think of filing an assault charge." Fitz snapped. The doctor nodded, unable to speak, as Fitz' hands were at his throat.

"Fitzgerald Thomas Grant the third, you let him go immediately!" Olivia boomed.

Fitz took his attention off of Dr. Wallace, turning to look at Olivia. As soon as he looked at her, his entire demeanor changed. His eyes softened, returning back to the cool, ocean blue that she knew and loved. The way he looked at her had never ceased to amaze her. He looked at her as if she was the only woman in the world. As if she had such a hold on his heart, that just simply looking at her would calm him down. And that fact wasn't lost on Mellie. She had never seen Fitz attack anyone for just kissing her hand. When she thought back to it, her relationship with Fitz wasn't anywhere near as chemistratic as theirs. She realized now, that Fitz truly didn't love her. Olivia wasn't just another girl to him.

Mellie cleared her throat, the jealousy seething off of her body. Fitz stepped away from the doctor, looking him straight in the eye. "I apologize for losing my control. Let's just forget about this, shall we?"

"I apologize for my inappropriate behavior. I'm going to get the blood test and paternity test, and let you all know the information you came here for." With that, the doctor left the room, and the trio sat in silence.

Olivia turned her attention to Fitz, giving him an incredulous look. He opened his mouth and she shushed him. "Fitz, I can't believe you did that. There are always going to be other men who make a move, but you have to be confident enough in us and in me, for that matter, to know that I'm here forever. I'm not going anywhere."

She took two steps over to him, caressing his cheek in her hand. She ran her thumb over his jawline. She made her way onto her tippy toes, placing a light kiss on his lips.

"I'm sorry, Livvie. I don't know what happened, I just- I lost control. I can't control myself around you, my every action relates to you. I'll behave." He pressed his forehead against hers, entering into their own little world. That world was instantly breeched, as Mellie's voice rang through.

"You've never done that for me, Fitz."

"That's because I've never been in love with you, Mellie." Fitz answered back, a slight annoyance in his voice.

"As long as you love this baby, that's all that matters." Mellie stated. Fitz turned to her, letting his wall down. "If the baby is mine, I will love it unconditionally, and I will help you take care of it. But if it's not, I don't want to hear anything from you, ever again. And I mean it, Mellie. Go off with my father and Jake, and just leave us alone."

There was a knock on the door, followed by the doctor's entrance. He had a puzzled look on his face, as he had two folders in his hands. "What seems to be the problem, Doctor?" Olivia asked.

He opened his mouth to speak, before closing it again. He had never seen anything like this. "I decided to check the paternity test first, and the results are rather interesting."

Olivia felt her stomach drop and her heartbeat quicken, as she awaited the results. She loved Fitz more than anything, but if the baby was his, then that means he lied to her, and she would forever be second best to Mellie.

"What are the results, Dr. Wallace?" Fitz, pressed. He already knew that he wasn't the father, but he was curious as to what was so interesting.

"Mr. Grant, you only have a 42% match with the child. Meaning the child is not yours."

Olivia squealed as Fitz wrapped his arms around her, twirling her in the air. He kissed all over her face, muttering a series of I told you so's. Mellie, on the other hand, was not so happy.

"No, that doesn't make any sense! How is the child not his, but there's a 42% match?"

"I was hoping you could tell us that, Ms. Windsor."

"What exactly are you getting at, Doctor?" Mellie snapped.

The doctor cleared his throat, looking back and forth between Mellie and Fitz. "The reason why there's a 42% match to Mr. Grant, is because he's related to the father of the child."

I'm sorry for such a short chapter, but I needed to get this up! This is more like a two part chapter, so the rest should be up in the next two days, as it's already written. I've been on a creative flow these last couple of days, so I have a few tricks up my sleeves. As always, reviews are loved and appreciated! (Ps, I love doing the always and forever/forever and always thing between Olitz. I think it's so cute!)
