Chapter 13
Olivia splashed her face with water, sighing deeply. She slid out of her robe, finding a bra and some underwear, before putting on her black yoga pants and a zip-up hoodie. "This cannot be happening," she muttered under her breath, pulling her hair up into a bun, entering work mode. She walked back out into the living room, where Mellie and Fitz were waiting for her. The room was filled with tension, and it was clear to Olivia that Fitz didn't want Mellie anywhere in their presence. Olivia held her head up tall, walking to the armchair seated in front of Mellie. She sat down across from the woman who, on more than one occasion, tried to take away the one thing she couldn't live without.
"Speak." Olivia wasted no time with niceties. She didn't trust Mellie as far as she could throw her, but her gut was telling her to hear her out.
The pregnant woman in front of her inhaled deeply, trying to compose herself. The tears still silently streaming down her face, her mascara completely ruined. She looked back and forth between Fitz and Olivia, before looking down at her hands placed in her lap.
"About a month ago, Jake and I were leaving the doctor's office after a check-up for the baby. We just wanted to make sure everything was going by the schedule. And Jake's phone rang, and it was Big Jerry, telling him that he forgave him for everything, and he wanted to make things right."
"Big Jerry doesn't forgive anyone" Fitz interrupted. "Let alone admit to it."
"Exactly what we were thinking. So we made plans to get out of the country. We were going to take a boat to Bermuda. But when it came time to board the cruise ship last week, Jake didn't meet me there. I called his cell, checked his apartment, called his job. His job said they hadn't seen in him 3 days." Mellie sobbed.
"And all the while this black sedan has been following me, but I never thought too much of it. Until yesterday. The car pulled up next to me at the stoplight. And the driver smiled at me. And he held his fingers up like a gun, pretended to pull the trigger, and drove away. I know you don't owe me anything, either of you. And I know I've been vindictive and spiteful and-"
"And a nuisance, a thorn in our sides, a raging bitch-"
"Fitz!" Olivia scolded.
"No. He's right. I've done nothing for either of you to ever want to help me. But don't do it for me. Do it for my child. I may not be innocent, but my child is. Please, Olivia." Mellie begged.
Olivia stared at Mellie for a long time, before reaching for her cellphone.
"Oh great, you're calling the police. They won't do anything, I've already tried!"
Olivia held the phone to her ear silently until the voice on the other line answered. "Huck, I need a favor. Arrange a passport, ID, bank account, and social security number and card for one Melanie Jordan. I'll be sending you a picture to use." She paused for a moment, listening to the voice on the other end of the phone. "Great. Thanks."
She hung up, looking at Mellie. "It's handled. You will no longer be Melody Windsor, we will make sure that it looks as if you skipped town. But let me tell you something. This is karma for all the bullshit you have put me and Fitz through. This is your karma for calling me a homewrecking slut. If you ever think of harassing us ever again, or ever even let the thought pop into your head to call me anything besides Olivia, I will take away the life I just gave you. Is that understood?"
Mellie looked at her, nodding her head slowly. She knew she didn't have any other choice. She absentmindedly rubbed her belly, while whispering her thanks to Olivia.
After giving her a bottle of water, Fitz walked Mellie out to her car to make sure she safely left the residence. He made his way back to his apartment to find Olivia in front of her laptop. She was on Fitz' facebook page, looking through the pictures of him and Mellie. She was focused on a picture of them in front of a crowd with Fitz' face covered in cake and frosting. It's clear from the picture that Mellie had thrown him a birthday party. She must have thrown the cake in his face, as the plate is falling midair, and her head is thrown back in laughter.
Olivia raised the glass of red wine she poured in Fitz' absence to her lips, downing half the glass before putting it back down. "Liv," Fitz tried to talk some sense into her.
"You guys were happy."
"What?"
"You were happy at one point. Look at the smiles on your faces. You two were happy. Maybe even in love. How do you know that we won't turn out how you guys are now? Sure, we're happy now, but are we always going to be happy? Because I don't think I could ever survive thinking you want nothing to do with me ever again in this lifetime." Olivia whispered more to herself than to him.
He crossed the room to where she was sitting, scooping her up in his arms. He walked into the bedroom, laying her down gently before lying down next to her. He opened his arms and Olivia instantly meshed into his body, fitting perfectly together. She laid her head on his shoulder, one of her legs falling in-between his, with her hand over his heart. He kissed her forehead, closing his eyes.
"Do you remember when we first met, Liv? Back at Colombia?"
Olivia chuckled lightly, nodding. "Yes, Fitz. You made fun of me and proceeded to sit down next to me."
"That's correct. But what you failed to notice was, I was drawn to you. There were at least 30 other open seats in that classroom, some in full empty rows by themselves, but I sat with you. Because from the moment I walked through the door and laid eyes on you, I knew I needed to be in your life, somehow someway. I've never had that feeling with Mellie. There was so spark. There were no butterflies. You are my world, Olivia. I can tell you this until I'm blue in the face. I don't give a fuck what a picture tells you. I'm telling you right now that you are the most amazing piece of perfection I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. There's no way in hell you will ever have to live without me. If I ever die, I'm still coming back to haunt you."
They both broke out into laughter, and at once Olivia instantly began to feel better. Mellie was a thing of the past, as was Jake Ballard. Olivia wondered if she should feel sad that Jake was presumably dead, but honestly, she couldn't find it in her to give a fuck.
"Come on," he said as he pulled her up. "Let's go take our bath."
"Fitz, the water is probably lukewarm at best right now."
He pulled her flush against his body, his hands making their way to her hips, down to cup her cheeks before surprising her, lifting her up in the air. Her legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, as her arms linked behind his neck, her fingers playing with the curls at the nape of his neck.
"I'm sure we can find a way to make the water…hotter." He captured her lips in a slow, deep kiss as he walked to the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

Olivia sat at her desk at OPA, on the phone with the Prime Minister of Wakistan. "Yes sir, I understand completely. I can promise, we will be able to return what was taken from you before you go back to your country. My team and I will be able to meet with you tomorrow, sounds good? Great." At that moment there was a knock at the door. A man walked in with a box with her name on the side.
"Okay, that sounds great. See you tomorrow, Mr. Prime Minister." She hung up the phone, reaching for the box. "Who's this from?"
The man smiled, not saying anything. She opened the box to find a bouquet of Casablanca lilies, with two other small boxes. She brought the flowers up to her nose, inhaling deeply before smiling. She opened one of the smaller boxes, revealing a card.
My dearest Livvie,
I hope you're having a great day at work today. It's only been about 2 hours since I've seen you, and I already miss you so much. So, I decided to shower you with gifts. Once you open everything, give me a call.
Love always,
Your Fitzy
She put the card on her desk, and looked back in the box. Inside was a silver ring, engraved with the words I promise to love you and only you, forever.
A promise ring. He got her a promise ring. She smiled, placing the ring on her left hand, knowing he most likely got one for himself as well. She opened the other box, her face scrunching up in confusion. They were tickets to a flight, taking off for tonight. "Tonight?" Olivia wondered out loud, as she picked up the phone to call Fitz. She was taken out of her thoughts as she heard Fitz' ringtone for her begin to play.
What I am trying to say is
The love is ours to make, so we should make it
Everything else can wait
The time is ours to take so we should take it
She followed the sound, coming from the elevator. The door dinged open, revealing Fitz in a pair of dark jeans and a fitted white t-shirt. His aviator glasses were on his face, and as he put them ontop of his head, he smiled a dazzling smile at her.
"Hi, my love." He greeted her, kissing her forehead. He pulled her into the elevator with him, pressing the button for the lobby.
"Fitz, where are we going?" she held the tickets up.
"We, my dear, are going to Jamaica for the next two weeks. Your team will be taking care of everything with the Prime Minister. If there's an emergency, there's facetime, and there's skype. Our bags are packed, and in the car downstairs. The flight's in two hours."
She squealed, throwing her arms around him. Never in a million years would she have ever expected anyone to do something like this for her. But Fitz wasn't just anyone, he was the love of her life. They walked out to the car, Fitz opening her door for her, before getting into the driver's side. They made their way to the airport as Fitz handed her all of the necessities for the flight; her passport, headphones, carryon bag, and a kiss to seal the deal.
Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the airport, Fitz' giving the keys to the valet before taking the bags out of the car.
"Wait, Fitz, how did you know what I might want to wear?" Olivia questioned.
"Liv, I bought you a whole new wardrobe for this trip. And don't put up a fight, it's already done. "
She pouted, but stayed quiet. He was spoiling her rotten. "I love you, not your money, you know that right?"
"Yes, I do," Fitz said as he leaned down to place a kiss on her lips. "Which is why I love spending it on you."
"Now, are you ready for the trip of a lifetime?"
Olivia looked at him, getting lost in those cerulean eyes of his. She smiled, nodding. "Ready. Let's do this."
They walked into the airport, hand in hand, ready to make the most of their vacation in Jamaica.
A/N: I am so so so so so SO sorry about not updating. Life has been...well, shitty honestly. But I didn't forget about you guys. I just didn't have any motivation to write. This chapter is dedicated to marsofbrooklyn from tumblr, because I know she's been waiting for it! Lol. A few things to say though:Some people were wondering how Mellie showed up at the new house. Mellie did not show up at the new house, she came to Fitz' apartment. They haven't moved into the house yet. Another thing, someone commented on the architectural information of the house. I am not an architect, and this is fanfiction. Not every fact is going to be accurate or to your liking.
Only one person said that they were against me writing a Terry story, due to them believing that it's disrespectful to Kerry & Terry's "respectful" families. They also said writing a Terry fanfic here would be prohibited, but I never said I would post it here :) There's always tumblr for that. But let me know what you guys think. As you know, reviews are always loved, adored, and most of all, appreciated!
