I have been busy writing all my other stories while at the same time play all the new video games I bought. Plus I had been in a slump writing this so it may be short.

Nightshroud: The Beginning

Chapter 17

The group are now found in the living room. Wes and Rui are sitting on the couch together. Michael and N are sitting next to each other on the floor with their backs on the couch. Cheren is standing next to them with Mewtwo and Meloetta floating. Latios and Latias are in their respective Poke balls, but with their powers they can listen to what's going on. Nightshroud, with Pikachu on his shoulder, is in front of them about to start explaining Mega Evolution.

"Like I said, Mega Evolution exceeds normal Evolution, however it's temporary until the battle is over and can be only used once a battle." Nightshroud said.

"Yeah. You told us that already." Wes said.

"But there's more. Not all Pokémon can do Mega Evolution. Only some can use this power. I know those Pokémon. For example, I know Tyranitar can do Mega Evolution." Nightshroud looked to Wes. "Wes. If you'd know about it earlier, your Tyranitar could Mega Evolve."

"Wow."

"Do you have other Pokémon that can use Mega Evolution?" Michael asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do." Nightshroud answered.

"Man. You're amazing."

"I don't know about that. However, there are only a few Pokémon that have two Mega Evolved forms."

"Two!?" Everybody else but Mewtwo and Pikachu exclaimed.

Nightshroud nodded. "And I happen to have them. Mewtwo is one those Pokémon." Everybody turned to Mewtwo shocked. "The form that you saw Mewtwo turn into two was known as Mega Mewtwo Y."

"What's with the 'Y' business?" Cheren asked while turning back.

"I said Mewtwo has two Mega Evolved forms. Those two forms are known as the X and Y forms."

"X and Y." Wes said.

"But it can't use both forms with one Mega Stone. Every Pokémon that can do Mega Evolution has their own respective Mega Stones. These few Pokémon has two respective stones, causing them to have two Mega Evolved forms. Mewtwo was able to Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo Y is because he is currently holding the Mega Stone known as Mewtwonite Y. If I would've gave Mewtwonite X to him, then he would have Mega Evolved into Mega Mewtwo X."

"Wow. You sure know everything about Mega Evolution." Michael said.

"Not everything. There are still some mysteries that scientists are trying to solve."

"Wait. How do you know this?" Rui asked.

"Because I traveled around the Kalos region, where Mega Evolution was originated from." Nightshroud snorted.

"You traveled to Kalos?" Cheren asked. Nightshroud nodded.

"But I thought you traveled Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova after your dark past." Michael said.

"I did." Nightshroud said.

"And you won those 4 Pokémon Leagues." Wes said.

"That was Nightshroud." Everybody looked confused on what he was saying. "Okay. Ash traveled and won the Kalos League. Nightshroud won the Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova Leagues. It happened about a few days after my dark past, but before I adopted Nightshroud."

"So you didn't get Nightshroud immediately after your incident?" Michael asked.

"Nope." Nightshroud shook his head. "Anyway I learned everything I know about Mega Evolution from the guru in Shalour City."

"A guru?" N asked.

Nightshroud nodded. "His granddaughter is a successor of Mega Evolution and the Gym Leader there. I beat her on both occasions. A Gym battle and a Mega Evolution battle."

"Wow." Michael said.

"I'm afraid that is all I have to say. Anything beyond that is way out of my reach."

"It doesn't matter." Rui said making everybody turn to her. "Thanks for briefing introducing us to a whole new world."

Nightshroud nodded. "It's my pleasure."

Cheren stood back up with a serious face. "Now on to the serious business. We need to know where Team Cipher's main base is."

"Yeah, like that's gonna be easy." Michael commented.

"Nobody said that it would be." Mewtwo added.

"What about all the old bases you three went?" Nightshroud asked Wes, Rui, and Michael.

"Who uses the old places anymore?" Michael questioned laughing a little. Wes smacked Michael in the back of the head, hard. "Ow! Okay, this has to stop now!"

"What he really means is," Wes began ignoring Michael's last comment. "We trashed those bases long ago. They're useless to anyone."

Nightshroud sighed in frustration. "So what now?"

"We can fly all over Orre to find new buildings." Michael suggested.

"You are such an idiot." Wes said making Michael turn to him looking annoyed. "It wasn't that long ago when you last took them on and it has been only a couple of years since me and Rui defeated them. So how would they get new buildings by that time?"

"It could be possible that they took over something like a tower." N added.

"Or, for all we know, they could have underground bases that are near impossible to find." Cheren also added.

"Which means-" Rui began before being interrupted.

"We could be going on a potential wild goose chase." Wes added.

"And Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem could be Shadow Pokémon by the time we finally found them." Nightshroud finished.

"So basically we have no plan." Mewtwo commented.

'Pretty much.' Pikachu added.

Suddenly a ringing sound was heard from Nightshroud's pocket surprising everyone. Nightshroud reached in his pocket and brought out a Pokégear. He opened it up like a cell phone and saw a familiar face on the screen.

"It's Professor Krane." Nightshroud said making Wes and Michael come next to him with Wes on the right and Michael on the left.

"Professor Krane?" Wes questioned confused. Michael, however, had a different reaction.

"Hey professor! What's up?!" Michael exclaimed excitedly.

"I saw the news about Pyrite Town. Was it true that-" Professor Krane began before being interrupted.

"I'm afraid so. Kyurem came." Nightshroud said.

"And now Team Cipher has it, completing the Tao collection." Wes added.

"And we don't know what to do." Michael finished.

"I see." Professor Krane murmured. "Maybe this will help. To promote the newly opened Omega Colosseum a tournament will be held there."

"Omega Colosseum?" Nightshroud stated in confusion.

"It's a new colosseum, but it's the biggest. Just about as big as a Pokémon League stadium."

The three whistled in amazement. "That must be enormous." Michael commented.

"And what's this about a tournament?" Nightshroud asked.

"As I said, this tournament will promote the colosseum. Like a Pokémon League it will begin with preliminaries with four battlefields apart from the main one in the colosseum. However, since there are not that many Trainers in Orre, each of those fields will only have two matches. After that the Top 8 will move on to the main battles." Professor Krane explained.

"What do you mean?" Wes asked.

"They will pick 32 Trainers to battle in the tournament. And you three have been invited to participate if you chose to." Professor Krane said referring to Nightshroud, Wes, and Michael.

"What? We never got any invites." Nightshroud commented.

"Oh." Rui suddenly said making everybody but Professor Krane turn to her. "That reminds me." She then brought three envelopes from her jacket pocket. "These came in the mail for you not too long ago."

"And you just now tell us this!" Wes yelled.

"Give her a break Wes." Nightshroud assured. "She was probably just too worried about me to bring it up. You would've done the same thing."

Wes sighed. "I guess so." He then took the envelopes from Rui and went back to give each labeled envelope to their appropriate person. The 'Wes' one to himself, 'Nightshroud' to Nightshroud, and 'Michael' to Michael. They opened their envelopes, brought the letter, and read them simultaneously.

"Dear Nightshroud/Wes/Michael," They began together. "You have been invited to participate in the Omega Grande Prix. The 32 Trainers including yourself will battle it out to the top. Since you are well known in Orre we beg you to take part. If you accept please put a check mark on the 'Yes' box. If you refuse check the 'No' box. Once you made your decision give the letter to the receptionist at the Omega Colosseum. We hope to see you there."

After they finished reading Nightshroud looked confused. "What's wrong?" Wes asked noticing the confusion.

"There's no closing. We don't know who wrote it." Nightshroud said.

"But it does sound fun!" Michael exclaimed excitedly.

"Hold on. What do you mean it might help?" Nightshroud asked back to the professor on the screen.

"I thought that Team Cipher might want to go back to their original plan to turn every Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon after they get done with the Tao Trio." Professor Krane informed.

"Of course they would do that." Wes said deadpanned. "The Shadow Pokémon were Team Cipher's best creation. They will build an army of those things."

"I'm not sure." Nightshroud said unsurely. "The power of the Tao Trio will probably be enough for Ardos to use to rule the world. Each of them has terrifying powers that can cause destruction when used in the wrong hands."

"You may be and that might be all he needs." Michael said with a serious face.

"Even if they are planning this or not it might be worth checking out. They might go there and steal all the participants' Pokémon." Professor Krane said.

"We understand." Nightshroud replied with a nod. "We'll look into it. Oh. How's Professor Ivy doing?"

"She went back to her lab in the Orange Islands."

"What? And she didn't bother to say good-bye?"

"Sorry Ash." Nightshroud shook his head. "Anyway I better get back to work."

"Wait professor! I want to-" The Pokégear went off before Michael finished his sentence. "Talk to my mother and little sister."

"So. What do you guys think?" Nightshroud asked.

"You heard the professor. We gotta go check things out at the Omega Colosseum." N advised.

"What if he's wrong?" Mewtwo asked.

"Well it's our only lead right now." Cheren acknowledged.

"So we know our move." Nightshroud said.

"Yeah." Wes replied with a nod. "We go to the Omega Colosseum and make sure the Trainers and their Pokémon are safe."

"And what if we managed to capture a Cipher Peon?" N asked.

"What else? We force him to take us to Ardos."

"And that's when we'll save Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem." Nightshroud finished. "There's no telling what Ardos could do with that much power."

"Oh!" Everybody turned to Cheren who brought out the case that held the DNA Splicers. "Let's not forget about the DNA Splicers."

"Oh yeah! With all the hoopla going on I forgot that that can be used to fuse Kyurem with Zekrom or Reshiram!" Wes exclaimed as Nightshroud walked toward Cheren.

"Which means-" Nightshroud then took the case from Cheren and opened it to reveal the DNA Splicers. "We better not let this thing get into Team Cipher's hands. I'll be darned if I let them abuse such power, with Zekrom no less." He closed the case.

"So what do we do with it?" Michael asked.

"Well since Team Cipher doesn't know that we live here I think we should just leave it here. For extra precautions I will find a safe place for it in my room."

'You will?' Pikachu asked.

Nightshroud turned his head toward Pikachu a bit offended. "Yes. I. Will." He then turned his attention back to the others. "As soon as I put it up we will leave for the Omega Colosseum."

"Why?" N questioned.

"Because the letter came with a flier for the Grande Prix." Nightshroud answered showing a piece of paper that showed shadowed silhouttes of Pokémon over a stadium. "And according to this the tournament starts tomorrow morning."

"Hey! I have an idea!" Michael exclaimed.

"Awesome! Michael has an idea!" Wes remarked sarcastically. "It's the end of the world!"

Nightshroud punched Wes on the shoulder making him massage it. "Go ahead Michael. What's your idea?"

"Well, since we have been invited, why don't we take up on that offer and enter the Omega Grande Prix!" Michael explained.

Everybody was quite surprised at the idea. "What? Why would we do that?" Wes asked.

"Did you ever think that there could be Cipher members in undercover participating?"

"That actually makes sense." Nightshroud commented.

"Oh please. He's just making an excuse so he can battle." Wes accused.

Michael frantically shook his head and hands at the same time. "I'm not! I'm not! I know we are in a serious situation. I am being serious right now. What if I'm right? We might have a better shot if we participate ourselves."

"Maybe he is right." Nightshroud said. "If there is a chance that some Cipher members are competing then we can't just go down the field. They wouldn't let us."

"Plus nobody would believe us if we tell them." N added.

"See? Ash and N are on my side." Michael commented.

"Still not seeing it." Wes complied.

"Aw c'mon Wes. Michael has been right about some things. It's worth giving it a shot." Rui assured.

"It may be better to check the inside and outside job." Cheren added.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the human." Mewtwo replied with a sigh.

"But how can we tell if somebody's a Cipher member? It's not like they can wear their uniform. That'd make our job easier." Wes said.

"They can just be spies that are not members and just hired to set off the signal." Michael assured.

"That last part didn't make sense."

"And don't worry about that. During the tournament I'll check every Trainer with my Aura Vision to see if they're Cipher." Nightshroud added.

Wes sighed. "Alright. You win. The three of us will enter."

"All right!" Michael cheered.

"But," Michael dropped the happy face to a confused one. "if this ended up wasting our time, I will . . . kick . . . your . . . ass!" Wes threatened edging closer to Michael who was backing away with fear.

"Watch your language!" Rui exclaimed.

"And leave the guy alone." Nightshroud defended. "He's a kid. Besides We all have to take some risks if we're going to stop them."

Wes composed himself and backed away from Michael. "I guess so."

Nightshroud nodded. "Now I'm gonna go put the DNA Splicers in a safe place in my room. Once I'm done we will leave for the colosseum." He proceeded to the hallway with Meloetta following behind.

"You better be right about this or I'm gonna-" Wes threatened before he was interrupted.

"Wes!" Rui yelled shutting Wes up immediately.

In his room Nightshroud decided to put the case containing the DNA Splicers in a drawer in his desk. "There we go." He said closing the drawer.

'Are you sure this is a good idea?' Pikachu questioned.

"It's like I said. Team Cipher don't know that we live here."

'Yeah, but hiding it in one of the most obvious spots?' Meloetta added.

"It'll be fine. C'mon. The others are waiting for us." The three then exited the door with Pikachu on Nightshroud's shoulder. When the door closed his window suddenly opened. A shadowy figure jumped through it and proceeded to the desk. It opened the drawer with the case and took it out. When it got the case the figure then jumped out the window and closed it.

Nightshroud, Pikachu, and Meloetta went back to the living room where everybody else was patiently waiting. "Okay. Wanna go over the plan in case somebody's real slow?"

"That would be Michael." Wes commented.

"I heard that!" Michael yelled.

"You were supposed to. Anyway sure. Let's summarize."

Nightshroud nodded. "Alright. Me, Wes, and Michael will battle in the tournament to track down any undercover Cipher members or spies."

"While we go through the entire crowd." Cheren said referring himself, Rui, and N.

Nightshroud nodded. "Right." He then brought out two Poké Balls. "Mewtwo, Meloetta. Return." He pointed one to Meloetta next to him as she was sucked into the ball. He pointed the other one toward Mewtwo as he was sucked in as well. The rest of the group then went out the front door and each brought out a Poké Ball except for Rui and N, and Nightshroud who actually brought out the Eon Duo's balls.

Wes brought Flygon out.

Salamence for Michael.

Unfezant for Cheren.

And finally Nightshroud released Latios and Latias. 'What's going on?' Latias asked.

"We're going to a new, huge colosseum to find some Cipher members." Nightshroud informed.

'A huge colosseum. Got it.' Latios said. Everybody got on their respective Pokémon some an extra passenger, Cheren on Unfezant, Wes on Flygon, Michael and N on Salamence, Rui on Latias, and Nightshroud and Pikachu on Latios.

"Omega Colosseum, here we come!" Michael exclaimed as they took off to the sky.

Near a huge stadium, presumably the Omega Colosseum, a young girl and a Whismur were standing waiting for something. The young girl appears to be in her late teens with black hair that's tied in a small ponytail. She is wearing what looks like a burned off at the back cloak with dragon scale-like materials around her neck with a black, no sleeve shirt and short shorts under it. She has an anklet that swirled around her ankle and up a couple of inches. On the top of that anklet held a Key Stone.

"Whismur!" The Whismur said.

The girl nodded. "I know. We will find him Aster. We have to find him. The one who will tame Rayquaza and destroy the asteroid heading to Earth."

And done!

Again sorry for taking too long. And I can't really describe her appearance, but the anklet and Whismur will tell you who it was. If any you have Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire you know who the girl is.
