Hello.
I have been busy with all my other stories and been taking lots of breaks that I never find the time to work on Nightshroud. And I have been also thinking about one of the reasons why I haven't gotten around to it is because that I may not take it as seriously as my other stories. Looking back what I've gotten down in the story I can't even take it seriously. It was my very first story and I was starting out so of course there were some flaws, but this isn't what I want to let you know.
I have recently been considering rewriting this whole thing...kind of. The reason I said kind of is that there would be some major differences from Nightshroud starting with that it takes place after Kalos instead of Unova. And the beginning would be different too, it would be similar to the Delta Episode from the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games.
There are also some things that I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do. For one I'm not sure if it would be an Ash being betrayed fic like with the original, but I would probably NOT have his name changed to Nightshroud so the title would be different. I don't know if I will keep the chosen four idea from the original, but if I do then N probably won't be that one or be in the story along with Cheren and the Legendary Pokémon Ash had caught in the original. I can't really figure out the plot, but I do have an idea on how Ash would come to Orre and meet Wes, Rui, and Michael.
Speaking of Legendaries, Ash would capture at least one and it CAN Mega Evolve, but it's one he would use as a last resort in battles in case the other five Pokémon on his team would be defeated. He would have it before coming to Orre. As to which Legendary it is, you should an idea on what as I said that the beginning of the story would be similar to the Delta Episode.
There are some things I would definitely keep from the original Nightshroud. As I mentioned before I will keep the setting at Orre and the characters Wes, Rui, and Michael and Ash becomes great friends with them. I would also keep the return of Team Cipher, but they may have a different plan than from Nightshroud. I am planning for Alain (and possibly Mairin) to come into Orre as a part of the story. I know you all hate this, but I would keep the Ash defeated by Alain in the Kalos League finals as it is one of the crucial things about Ash's growth in this story.
I may keep the pairing Ash/Rui if you all really desire it.
Not really sure on what the rewrite is going to be titled, but I'll let you know when it's out. As soon I can begin writing it.
