Jackson and Greta are my original characters, but I don't own CSI.
Since Greta's first word was Baba, for her brother, I wondered how she might say Dada. So here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy...and pretty please review!
Greg Sanders loved his job as a CSI, and was thrilled when Nick promoted him to be his assistant supervisor last year. But he loved his family much more. Every time he and his wife Morgan came home to their children, Jackson and Greta, it made them so happy. As much as he loved his job, Greg loved his family much more.
One night, Greg returned home after finishing some paperwork on a tough case. As he came through the door and went to his room, he smiled when he saw Morgan, Jackson and their dog Scruffy sound asleep on the bed watching the classic movie channel. Greg kissed Morgan's forehead and Jackson's cheek, just loving seeing his family. He patted the dog's head, and went to check on his baby daughter.
Greta fussed softly as Greg came into the room. When she turned and saw her father, she smiled softly.
"Hey, baby girl," Greg whispered. He smiled as Greta rolled over and reached for him. "You feeling okay?"
Greta reached for her father and cooed. Greg smiled as he watched his baby girl.
"Mmm...daddy?" Jackson asked.
Greg glanced to the bedroom to see Jackson rubbing his eyes. "Hey, Jacks," he said.
"Is Greta okay?"
"Yeah," Greg said. As he turned to leave, Greta fussed softly. Greg was just about to close the door when he heard a very soft, "dada?" Greg stopped and smiled at his daughter. He walked in and Greta reached her hand as far as it would go.
"Dada."
A happy tear rolled down Greg's cheek. "Yeah," he whispered. "I'm here." He lifted his baby girl out of her crib and Greta rested her head on Greg's shoulder.
"I'm right here," Greg whispered. He kissed the baby's head. "I'm here. It's okay."
Morgan and Jackson listened over the baby monitor as Greg comforted Greta. Jackson crawled out of bed and walked to his sister's room. Peering in, he asked, "Daddy, is Greta okay?"
"Yeah," Greg said. "She's okay. You okay, Jacks?"
"Yeah." He walked in and rubbed his sister's back. "It's okay, Greta. Daddy's here, and he and mama are the best."
Greg smiled with love at both his children. As much as he wished he could've been there when Jackson was born, he knew Jackson loved him and every day with his son was a gift. And Jackson adored Morgan and Greta both.
Greta smiled softly at her brother. "Baba?"
"Yeah," Jackson said. "I'm here, and so are mama and daddy. Scruffy too!"
Morgan stood in the doorway and watched her family. Greg smiled with love and happiness. "I love you, Jacks."
"Love you, daddy."
Greta raised her head and softly said, "baba dada?"
Jackson and Morgan laughed softly as Greg kissed Greta's soft cheek. "We're here, sweetie."
The End.
