Lilover131: A part of me feels kinda sad, because this story is drawing to an end, and I have worked on it for so long now. However, I am so glad I could keep to my word, and I hope I haven't disappointed any of you! I have another story in mind (and it's been on my mind for a long, long time), but I want to make sure I properly finish this one before I do anything else. For anyone who has followed me all these years or reviewed, I want to give a HUGE thank you! It's because of you all that I was able to push through and get this thing done!

Cry of a Wolf: Chapter Forty-seven-Endless Love

Syaoran spent a little while explaining to everyone what had happened. It brought some to tears, especially XiaoLian, who was utterly relieved that her brother had stopped fighting the happiness that he deserved. However, none could forget that although his soul was at peace, it was still not free. They had work to do, and Syaoran took his place once more in the center of the circle.

The mirror was fortunately not damaged from its fall, and the moon still had a few more minutes of light before the sun would rise. Before anyone started, XiaoLian trotted to the center with Syaoran, who knelt down to pet her. She nuzzled her face against his hand, and he gave a gentle smile in return.

"I know we only spent a short amount of time together, but I want to thank you for all you've done..."

XiaoLian simply nodded before moving to stand beside him, ready for the spell. She too would go with her brothers, and she was ready. Syaoran closed his eyes as the moon soaked into the mirror once more, and light wrapped around him in a gentle caress. As it did, he once again saw the brothers within his mind, their bodies glowing in the same light. They both looked to Syaoran, and although they were happy, they both seemed frightened. After all, they still weren't sure what awaited them, but they were prepared to find out. Syaoran was about to say his goodbyes, but there was still one thing that had been bothering him.

"Hey...before you go, I only have one question...why is it that the Elder's of your time killed Himeko?"

Shun frowned a bit at this question, and he looked once to his older brother before answering.

"Himeko was powerful...the clan felt threatened by her powers and were afraid of her...she was the type of girl who could rally many behind her, because she had that kind of charm, and the Elder's didn't want to lose any of their strength in the clan. At first, they were all for me marrying her, but one day, they just...changed their minds..."

Syaoran blinked and wondered what could have possibly led them to turn an arranged marriage into an assassination.

"Changed their minds...?"

Shun nodded.

"Some guy came to visit them one day, and after that, they wanted her dead. I think his name was...what was it..."

"Fei Wong Reed. That was his name"

XianLiang interjected, and the younger brother nodded in agreement. Syaoran's eyes widened a bit, not having a clue who that person was, but the last name was striking. Could he have been related to Clow?

"That man was incredibly strong. I saw him for only a moment, but he sent chills down my spine"

Syaoran was in deep concern over this news, but surely someone who lived that long ago was dead...right? He hoped to never find out.

"What about Naraku? What did he have to do with all of this?"

Shun sighed, looking a little uncomfortable at the question, but he answered nonetheless.

"He loved Himeko too...he was a bodyguard of hers, and after she died, he saw me in the forest with her body. He jumped to conclusions, and then the Elder's only confirmed it for him. After that, I was...well...you know..."

The glow around them became a bit brighter, and little orbs of light surrounded them like fireflies. A few more orbs began to form, and within seconds, a new figure stood before them; a girl with silver gray hair and amber eyes adorned with a white and gold robe. She smiled at Syaoran before hugging both of the brothers, who embraced her in return. It took a moment for Syaoran to realize who she was, but he soon remembered.

"Kohaku...Uh, er...I mean..."

She giggled a bit at the name before hugging the brunette boy as well and placing a kiss on his cheek. His face lit up red as she pulled back.

"That name will always be special to me...because it is the name you gave me"

The girl rejoined her siblings, their bodies beginning to split apart into the silver orbs of light.

"Farewell, Syaoran...thank you so much...send Sakura and the others my regards"

The three disappeared, and Syaoran's eyes reopened just in time to see three silver lights float up into the sky. The eight surrounding him appeared to be weakened, but still in good shape despite having just performed such an enormous spell. Sakura rushed forward with enthusiasm and wrapped her arms around him.

"Are they free?"

Tomoyo asked and stared up at the moon where the lights had disappeared to. Eriol nodded and took her hand into his, gently kissing the top of it. The raven haired girl smiled gently back at him before happily leaning against him. Everyone sighed in relief, glad that the nightmare was over.

Xueman moved to embrace her grandson and Sakura, a tear growing in the corner of her eye.

"Your grandfather and father would be so proud of you, Syaoran..."

The boy simply nodded in acknowledgment. He would have rather had them here and alive, but he knew very well that was not possible. However, he would go on existing as he always had, together with Sakura and their friends and family. Yelan approached the center, smiling softly.

"It is late. Perhaps we should all get back to the house and rest?"

Everyone had nearly forgotten how tired they all were. It had been a long day for sure, and sleep was long overdue. With that, they all, save for Xueman who went back to her own home, returned to the mansion to get a good night's sleep. For the first time since their visit, it was a truly peaceful sleep, especially for Syaoran, who no longer had any nightmares. The only dreams he had now were ones bathed in sunlight. By his side slept Sakura, who had snuck in yet again to be with him, and he happily obliged. After all, they only had one more day together before she had to go back to Japan..

The next morning, everyone awoke well rested. Sakura and Syaoran had yet to leave their rooms (or room), and the two didn't particularly feel like getting up. The amber eyed boy was holding his love close until the sunlight and an oddly familiar sensation caused him to stir. He felt something on his back inhibiting his movements a bit, and suddenly, his eyes burst open in realization.

"What...?!"

Sakura woke as well, startled a bit from Syaoran's reaction, but her sleepy eyes widened also once she saw the problem. On his back were dazzling wings, one black and one white. The girl gaped and stared at the wings, completely stunned.

"Wings...? But...are they still there? We freed them, right?"

Syaoran shook his head.

"No...they are not here. I would feel them. Somehow the power was left behind...?"

Sakura frowned slightly, her fingers brushing lightly across some of the feathers out of concern.

"Do they hurt? You're not in any pain, right?"

Syaoran shook his head once more.

"No. Not at all"

He focused for a moment, eyes closing to see if he could manage to get the wings to dissipate. A few seconds passed before the wings folded in and appeared to disappear into his body. Syaoran was a bit surprised at the control he seemed to have.

"Well, that was easier than I expected"

The boy looked to his hand, feeling the magic running through his veins. Unlike before, he didn't feel the least bit scared. He felt empowered, and the magic he was wielding no longer felt foreign. He smiled a bit and clenched his fist before looking to the auburn haired girl.

"Sakura...this magic…I think it's mine. It doesn't feel borrowed anymore...I guess since those brothers don't need it anymore..."

Sakura's hand touched his, a gentle smile curling on her lips.

"It's in good hands..."

Eventually, the two realized what time it was and got up from the bed before making their way downstairs. Eriol, Tomoyo, Meilin, and the four sisters seemed to be whispering amongst themselves about something, and Syaoran didn't like it. When they whispered, they were usually plotting something, and if he wasn't in on it, that meant he was a part of it.

"What's going on? You all look like you're up to no good..."

Some snickered, but most just smiled or kept a straight face. Eriol looked especially mischievous.

"So defensive, my cute little descendant"

Syaoran sighed. So they were going back to the stupid nickname again, huh? Sakura blinked before Tomoyo rushed up to her and took her hands into hers.

"Sakura-chan! We've all been thinking...today is the last day we are here, and you haven't spent a whole lot of alone time with Li-kun. So...so..."

"So...?"

Sakura tilted her head in confusion.

"Please let me help you pick out an outfit for your date!"

The girl nearly fell over, her face beet red.

"D-date?"

Tomoyo nodded excitedly, her eyes getting that usual sparkle when she planned on turning Sakura into a doll.

"Since I cannot make one for you on such short notice and with a lack of materials, Meilin and I are going to take you shopping for an outfit!"

Sakura was incredibly bashful about the whole thing, but she nodded slowly, glancing over at Syaoran for his approval. He too, was blushing like a fool, but he wasn't opposed to alone time with Sakura.

"What will we be doing?"

Eriol adjusted his glasses, his smirk appearing again.

"Just leave that up to me. I know Hong Kong pretty well, after all"

Syaoran wasn't entirely sure how to feel about the expression his reincarnated ancestor wore. His kindness usually had some sort of ulterior motive, and since Tomoyo was in on it too, they were definitely up to no good. Sakura wouldn't have been able to sense that, since she was so naïve, but that was what he loved about her. The time he would spend with her would be well worth whatever embarrassing thing their friends had planned for them. Tomoyo was quick to change the subject, as if to avoid answering any questions that might spoil the plans.

"Now, shall we have breakfast?"

Sakura smiled, her face still a bit red as she followed the others to the already prepared meal. Kero had already been digging in, while Yelan, Touya, and Yukito were seated at the table awaiting their arrival. Syaoran looked around for Kohaku, but frowned slightly when he remembered that the wolf pup was no longer around. Despite that sadness, the sorrow quickly faded with the knowledge that she and her brothers were at peace.

Breakfast was lively as always, and it seemed things had gone back to normal. However, there was still something unsettling about what the brothers had told Syaoran before they disappeared. Eriol caught those amber eyes looking his way and there was an unspoken understanding.

Once everyone had finished eating, Meilin, Tomoyo, and the sisters dragged Sakura out shopping. Touya and Yukito decided to spend some time touring around Hong Kong by themselves, Nakuru and Spinel went off to take a walk, and Yelan sat outside in the garden, quietly reading a book while Kero slept on the chair beside her.

Eriol and Syaoran walked to the edge of the garden where there was a little more privacy, and the brunette leaned against the barrier, eyes gazing down at the Victoria Harbor below.

"You wanted to speak with me?"

Clow's reincarnation was the first to speak with a gentle smile on his lips. Syaoran took a deep breath before turning to him, his face expressing the utmost of seriousness.

"Do you know of a man named Fei Wong Reed?"

Eriol didn't seem entirely surprised to hear the name, but he didn't seem his usual calm either. There was a disturbing concern showing through those azure eyes. He did not answer right away, which only served to be more alarming.

"Yes…"

He finally responded to Syaoran's question, but the short answer lead the boy to believe that he couldn't be told much. Much to Eriol's surprise, he didn't push for more and simply gazed back to the harbor.

"It must be difficult…to know the future and not be able to say anything…"

Eriol stared at Syaoran for a good long moment and his smile returned.

"You're really growing up, my cute little descendant"

The brunette twitched in annoyance, his eyes glaring, but never looking away from the city below.

"I can't say the same for you…"

Eriol laughed at this statement, and the two carried on with more lighthearted discussions.

Meanwhile, the girls were running Sakura ragged in the stores in search of the perfect outfit. Tomoyo wished more and more that she had the time to make something, but she was at least finding all sorts of inspiration for later outfits.

"Sakura-chan, try this one on next!"

"No, Kinomoto-san, this one!"

Sakura was dizzy with so many outfits being thrust upon her at one time. There were some that she liked, though quite a few of them were on the flashy side. Who would have thought that trying on outfits would be such a work out?

Finally, the last dress was put on, and Sakura was so lacking in energy, she hardly looked at it as she put it on. She stepped out of the dressing room exhaustedly and did not expect the stares she received from the group. For the first time since they got to the store, they were silent, and they all looked to each other, nodding in agreement.

"That's the one"

Sakura blinked in astonishment.

"Really?"

She turned around to look in the mirror and barely recognized herself. She looked so…cute. Sakura twirled around to see the entire dress. The girl wore a pale pink, strapless chiffon dress with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice was layered with several pieces of fabric in the shape of flower petals with a bow underneath it just under her bust. Extending from the bow were three ties decorated with more of the petal shaped fabric pieces, and the skirt fell just to mid thigh.

"Wow…"

Sakura was giddy, and it was not long before the dress was purchased and taken out of the building on a hanger.

"Y-You really didn't have to buy it for me…it's too much…"

The sisters squealed at her shyness while Meilin rolled her eyes.

"If you're going to have a date with Syaoran, it has to be perfect, Kinomoto-san. And since it can't be me, you have to put up us spoiling you a bit, okay?"

Sakura blushed and nodded slowly.

"Thank you…"

Tomoyo raised her hand victoriously, eyes shining with excitement.

"Now, to the next store! We need shoes and accessories to go with that dress!"

"Ehh?!"

The emerald eyed girl was ushered off once again.

The day was long, and the sun was just about to set. Syaoran was given appropriate clothes to wear by Eriol; a traditional white Chinese shirt and black pants. He wasn't sure exactly what was planned for them, but he just couldn't wait to see Sakura. He had spent far too much time away from her for a day that was supposed to be for them. She was going back to Japan tomorrow, and he wanted as much time with her as he could get.

Before he knew it, he was guided into a car and Eriol beside him had an air of secrecy around him. He refused to tell Syaoran where they were going or what they were doing, and the brunette was starting to get impatient. Finally, the car stopped, and he practically jumped out of the car.

He was about to ask where they were, but the location pretty much spoke for itself. Syaoran was stunned to see a beautiful park with a Chinese style pagoda next to an enchanting pond. Under the pagoda was an elegantly candlelit table.

"How…did you find this place?"

Eriol grinned, adjusting his glasses.

"I told you. I know Hong Kong very well, and I do know how to be romantic…"

Syaoran wasn't really sure what to say, and without making direct eye contact, he muttered rather quietly.

"…Thank you. This is nice"

The reincarnated mage was pleased with his response and saw the other car roll up behind theirs.

"It seems your princess has arrived"

Amber eyes watched the door open, and he was breathless at the sight of his beloved. The pink dress suited her so well, and he wasn't sure if he'd ever seen her wear a strapless dress before. Sakura's makeup was not overdone and pulled out her natural beauty, though it wasn't like that was very difficult to do. She wore matching pink flats, and her hair was half up, half down style, an elegant cherry blossom hair piece adorned with bells on the back holding it all together.

Sakura approached Syaoran, who seemed unable to speak. He could only stare, his cheeks tinted red.

"Um…do I look okay?"

The boy practically flailed about when he realized he had not said anything.

"Y-Yes! You look beautiful…"

The girl smiled back at him and took his hand when he offered it to her, leading them to the table. Eriol glanced at Tomoyo, who was waiting by the car.

"I think now we should take our leave…"

Tomoyo nodded in agreement, though they wouldn't be far…

The couple carried on their dinner, blushing the entire meal it seemed, though they continued normal conversation. Most of the talk was stories regarding events that happened while they were apart, bringing laughter to the both of them. All the while, they were being watched.

"So….cute!"

Tomoyo exclaimed in a whisper from amongst her hiding place amongst the bushes with her camera in hand. She wasn't the only one in hiding. Nearly the entire group was there to observe, though with all the squealing, it was a miracle they hadn't been discovered yet. Eriol had a thoughtful expression and grinned as an idea came to mind.

"Let's make some waves, shall we?"

The mage outstretched his hand, focusing on a spell. Sakura stirred the moment the spell was cast, but this was mainly because of what she saw. In the pond by the pagoda, the goldfish swimming around had begun to glow a bright white. The girl was instantly taken by the sight and started towards the pond, smile shining with fascination.

"Syaoran, look! They're like stars!"

He followed after her, eyes wide in astonishment.

"Yeah, they really are…"

Sakura leaned forward to get a closer look, and Eriol gave a gentle nudge with his powers so that her balance would falter just enough. She cried out as she fell towards the pond, and Syaoran was quick to grab her hand and pull her back into his arms.

Meilin gave a quiet, but amused laugh.

"Very smooth, Hiiragizawa-kun"

"I have experience in this sort of thing, you know"

Sakura remained pressed against Syaoran's chest, and the two kept eye contact for quite a long moment.

"T-thank you, Syaoran…"

His hand moved to cup her face, and he leaned in closer. Sakura mimicked his movements, and their lips finally connected in a tender, meaningful kiss. It did not last very long, but when they disconnected, Syaoran pulled the girl into a firm embrace. No words were needed. Their feelings were enough, and they always would be.

The couple walked hand in hand to sit on a bench by the pond where they could enjoy the fish, and in their peaceful state, dozed off. Sakura's head was rested on Syaoran's shoulder, and his was gently resting upon hers.

The spies eventually left their hiding spot, Tomoyo reeling from the incredible footage she had captured. The spell on the fish wore off in time, and though it was rather bittersweet to wake them, the couple was brought home so they could sleep properly in their own beds.

The next morning, the sun was shining brightly, but Syaoran had wished that it was raining. If the weather was bad enough, Sakura's flight would be delayed and she could stay a little longer. Breakfast was ready as usual, but Syaoran did not really feel like eating. Yelan couldn't help but see his sadness, and Sakura did not seem much better. Their night together had gone off without a hitch, but to part now seemed almost cruel.

When breakfast was finished, the visitors from Japan all gathered their luggage, and the servants of the Li household began to pack them into the cars. Sakura did her best to keep tears from filling her eyes. Seeing Syaoran again had only served to make her love for him grow, and parting again was even more painful than before. The boy could barely look at her.

"Syaoran, I…I'll…"

Yelan appeared behind Syaoran, resting a hand on his shoulder. He looked to her, pain in his eyes until Wei, family servant and friend, pulled a luggage in beside him.

"Shall I put your luggage with Sakura-san's, Syaoran-sama?"

The question stunned the boy, and he looked to Yelan in disbelief.

"Mother…?"

The woman cupped her son's face and placed a gentle kiss upon his cheek.

"Go…be with the one you love"

Syaoran gasped, his hand squeezing hers lightly.

"But…what about…?"

"It's already been organized for you to stay at Daidouji-san's home until living arrangements can be made for you. Your plane ticket is with her"

He still seemed uncertain, but when he looked to Tomoyo, the smile she gave told only the truth. Syaoran was elated, and he couldn't seem to express how grateful he was.

"Thank you, Mother!"

Yelan nodded before embracing her son.

"Just be sure to visit every once in a while, all right? I expect full reports about school, and don't forget to train every day. If you slack off, I will know"

Syaoran nodded firmly before saying his goodbyes to the rest of his family. There were a few tears shed, but the boy had none. He was far too delighted to cry. Once everyone had gotten to see Syaoran off, he rushed to Sakura, picking her up by her waist and spinning joyously with her. The girl giggled until she was placed back on the ground, and their hand joined together.

"Let's go home"

Sakura felt a few tears burning in her eyes at his words. From now on, they would always be together.

Love is Endless…

Lilover131: Well…10 years later, and this thing is finally finished. It's a little bittersweet, but I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who made it to the end. I know I've been slow to update, and my writing is not the best, but I had so much fun writing this, and finishing it really means a lot to me. I have an idea for another fanfic, but seeing as this one took me so long, we'll have to see if I actually go through with it. It carries some themes that are a bit darker than this one, but if it's something you'd like to see, let me know! Anyways, once more…THANK YOU SO MUCH!
