A/N- If anyone else has noticed my story Whatever It Takes has been deleted I don't know how but it wasn't on my list when I checked it today so sorry for anyone who was reading it but luckily Realizations and Like Never Before are still up and running so hopefully I don't have anymore problems with the stories!

-Shelby's Hospital Room(The Next Morning)-

Dean was sitting in a chair next to Shelby's bed when a doctor came in. "Hello Mrs. Ambrose... " The doctor said shutting the door. "How are you feeling?"

Shelby shrugged not saying anything.

Dean stood up and stood next to Shelby.

"Well I've been going over your chart and it appears you haven't started clearing the fetus from your system... so we are going to need to do a D&C also known as dilation and curettage to remove the contents of the uterus... we are going to do it this morning... you should be able to go home in a couple hours as long as everything goes well.." The doctor explained

Shelby nodded

"Do you have any questions?" The doctor asked

Shelby shook her head no.

"Alright they will be in to prep you in about 20 minutes.." The doctor said before leaving the room.

"You okay babe?" Dean questioned

Shelby nodded before rolling over to face the door the opposite direction of Dean. Dean sighed and shook his head sitting down on his chair again.

20 minutes later...

A Nurse and Orderly walked in. "Hello we are here to get you prepped..." The nurse smiled. "Are you wanting to be awake for this procedure?" The nurse asked

"No..." Shelby said softly it was the first thing she'd said all morning.

"Alright... I'll start the I.V then..." The nurse said softly. After she was finished putting the IV in the nurse had her lay back down. "We will take you down to the one of the surgical rooms... It usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes for the procedure and it will be about 30 minutes before you can see her so if you want to grab something to eat you'll have about an hour..."

Dean sighed and nodded as he watched them wheel her out of the room.

-Cafeteria-

Dean was sitting at a table in the corner drinking a cup of coffee when Roman walked over to him. "Hey... how are you doing bro?" Roman sat across from him.

Dean shrugged and sighed "Better then Shelby... she has said 1 word all morning... and it wasn't even to me..." Dean sighed

"She is taking it really hard..." Roman nodded "Where is she at?"

"They are doing a D&C right now... so she'll be back for about 30 minutes and I have another 30 minutes after that to wait to see her..." Dean said taking a sip of his coffee.

Roman nodded "I'm sorry man... I know you were starting to get used to the idea..."

"I was... when I get my hands on that son of a bitch Barrett.." Dean grits his teeth.

"What happened with you guys?" Roman asked

"He was coming down the stairs and wanted to talk to us... he wanted to apologize I told him what he could do with that apology..." Dean sighed "He wouldn't stop so I shoved him... and he shoved me back and I knocked into Shelby.. she feel down the stairs... this is all his fault... " Dean stood up shaking his head "He's not going to get away with this.."

Roman sighed and shook his head when Dean got his hands on him Barrett was a dead man and Roman knew it.

-Shelby's Hospital Room-

Shelby was still a little groggy when Dean walked in and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Hey babe.." Dean said softly

"Hey..." Shelby spoke her voice a bit raspy still feeling the effects from the drugs she'd been given.

"How the doctor said everything went well.. you should be able to leave in an hour or so.." Dean said softly pulling a chair next to her bed.

Shelby nodded.

Dean sighed and shook his head sitting back in his chair as he sees her roll over on to her side curling into the fetal position. Dean shook his head he wishes there was something he could do to make her feel better.

After about an hour and a half Shelby was discharged from the hospital. Dean helped her out of the bed and put her clothes on before helping her out the door.

-Dean and Shelby's Home-

Dean opened the door for Shelby taking the bag he hand of hers and putting it on the ground. "Do you need anything?"

"No..." Shelby said softly "I'm just tired.." Shelby said

Dean nodded "Alright.." Dean helped her up the stairs and into their bedroom. Shelby went into the bathroom changing into a pair of shorts and a tank top before walking back out. Dean had already pulled back the covers for Shelby to climb in the bed and Dean pulled the covers back up over her. Dean leaned down and kissed her forehead.

Dean went to pull away but Shelby grabbed his arm. "I love you.." Shelby said softly.

Dean nodded and leaned in to kiss her on the lips. "I love you to.." Dean said and Shelby laid back down and rolled over closing her eyes.

Dean sighed softly as he walked out the door at least she wasn't shutting him out completely he just wished she'd open up to him more after all they were in this together.
