A/N: I just want to thank you for the wonderful reviews in the previous chapter. I'm glad you really liked it. So, I really hope you like this next chapter too!
Disclaimer: Miranda is mine and so is the kindergarten class, but Strauss and the first graders are not mine.
Miranda sat at her desk, watching as the children quietly did their work. It was so quiet in the classroom that the only sound that was heard, was the sound of the rain, hitting the windows. It had only began raining a few moments ago. Occasionally, the children would all look up from their work and see the rain.
"Please focus on your work." Miranda told the children as they went back to working.
A few moments later, Miranda stood up and said, "Children, I'm going to excuse myself to the restroom for a moment. Please continue working and I'll be right back." When she was out of the room, Rossi got out of his desk and walked towards the door.
"David, what are you doing?" Maeve asked.
"I'm bored, so I'm taking a little break and visiting an old friend. If any of you want to go with me, then you can or you can stay here and die of boredom."
Rossi soon got the answer when rest of his classmates joined him at the door. "I see that you've all decided that you want to live. Very smart choice."
"So, who are we visiting?" Garcia asked.
"You'll see once we get there." Rossi lead everyone out of the classroom.
Strauss and her kindergarten class were all sitting in the reading area of the classroom. The children were quietly listening to her, read them a story.
"When Stella had finally reached the top of the hill with her mommy, she reached for the sky and tried grabbing one of the stars, but she couldn't reach them. Frustrated, Stella turned to her mommy and said, "Mommy! I can't reach them! I'm so close to them, but why can't I reach them?!" Stella's mommy then said to her, "Because my love, the stars are too far away from us. They may seem like they're really close, but…."
"Hello, Mrs. Strauss!" Came the voices of Strauss' former kindergarten class.
Strauss sat down the book and was surprised to see her kindergarten class from the previous year. Some of the children, she didn't recognize. "Hi! What are you are doing here?!"
"We came here to see you." Rossi said.
"Did you miss us?" Will asked.
Strauss smiled and said, "I sure did. I see that you've got some friends with you, that I don't recognize. You want to introduce them to me?"
"I want to introduce them!" Garcia happily exclaimed. She then proceeded to introduce Strauss to the classmates who wasn't in her class the previous year. "This is Beth Clemmons, Grant Anderson, Alex Miller, Ashley Seaver, Clyde Easter, Maeve Donovan, and Jordan Todd."
"Well, it's very nice to meet the seven of you. I'm Mrs. Strauss and I was your classmates teacher, last year."
"Hello." The seven students said in unison.
"What are you reading?" Beth asked.
"Stella and the Stars." "Have you ever heard of it?" Strauss asked with a smile.
"No. What's it about?" Beth asked.
"It's about this little girl named Stella, who wants to touch the stars, but then at the end of the story, she realizes that she can't reach them because they're too far away." Reid explained.
"Thanks for spoiling it for those of us who haven't got to read it yet!" Kevin whined.
"Sorry about that." Reid said.
"That's a lie."Garcia said.
"What?! I really am sorry!" Reid protested.
"No, not that! The thing about not being able to touch a star. Everyone knows that you can." Garcia said.
"No you can't." Maeve chimed in.
"Have you ever tried?" Garcia asked.
"No, but have you?" Maeve asked.
"No, but I will, someday or some night, I mean." Garcia proudly said.
"But you'll never be able to reach it. It's impossible." Reid tried to explain.
"Maybe it's only impossible because people stop trying?" Garcia suggested.
"No, it's like I said a few moments ago. You can't touch a star because it's too far…"
"Spencer, sweetheart. How about we just let Penelope believe in being about to touch a star, okay?" Strauss asked, obviously not wanting to hurt Garcia's feelings by telling her the truth.
Realizing what his former teacher was saying, Reid replied with, "Okay."
"How come you're not in your classroom?" A little blue eyed and curly brown haired girl asked.
"That's a very good question, Rosita. Children, as much as I love seeing you all again, but why aren't you in your classroom?" Strauss asked, repeating the kindergartner's question.
"Miss Norton had to go to the bathroom." Ashley said.
"Yeah, she told us that she ate a lot of spicy food for breakfast this morning. So she'll be in the bathroom for a while." Prentiss lied as she laughed and her classmates joined in with her.
Strauss couldn't help but laugh a little at her former kindergartener's joke. "Now, Emily, why would Miss Norton eat spicy food for breakfast?"
"I don't think we'll ever know the real answer to that." Prentiss replied.
When Miranda walked back into her classroom, she was surprised to find it empty. "Where in the world did my class go?" Surely school can't be out already. I don't think I was in the restroom that long." Miranda thought to herself. She then looked at the clock and noticed it only said 1:25 pm. There was still about half an hour of school left. Soon, she was on the intercom and talking to Elizabeth Prentiss.
"Yes? Can I help you with something?" Elizabeth asked.
"Principal Prentiss, have you seen my class? I went to the restroom for a moment and when I came back, they were all gone."
"Oh, well that can't be good. I'm sure they're somewhere in the building, so I'll just call for them." Elizabeth then called for Miranda's group of first grade students. "The students of Miss Norton's class, needs to return there, at this moment."
The first graders and Strauss were talking to each other, when they heard the announcement. The first graders all had looks of sadness on their faces, even the ones who had just met Strauss.
"I guess it's time for us to go back." Clyde said.
"That's what it seems like. I'm glad you all got to come by and see me." Strauss said with a smile.
"How about we just stay here for the rest of the day?" Elle suggested.
Strauss smiled and said, "Elle, as much as I'd love that idea, I'm going to have to say sorry, but I'm sure Miss Norton needs you all back in the classroom. She's probably worried about each of you and wondering where you're at."
"Maybe Miss Norton is crazy like you, Mrs. Strauss and maybe she doesn't even realize we're gone?" Haley suggested.
"Haley could be right, Mrs. Strauss. Remember how last year, you were convinced that you had an actual husband and children? But we all knew it was fake." Morgan said.
"Oh, I'm pretty sure that announcement that was made over the intercom, tells us that Miss Norton knows you're not in class. And I really do have a husband and children. You met my husband, last year. Don't any of you remember?" Strauss asked.
"But he was just a paid actor." Kevin said.
"No sweetheart, I'm actually married to that man." Strauss said.
"Mrs. Strauss, when are you going to take my advice and have yourself committed into the mental institution? If you don't then someone else will, and I think it will look a lot better on your record, if you do it yourself." Reid said.
"They still think I'm lying about my husband and children. Is this how it's always going to be with this group of kids?" Strauss wondered. "I appreciate your concern, Spencer, but there really isn't anything to worry about."
Reid sighed heavily and said, "Well, if you change your mind, please let us know. We'll help you get through it all."
"I'll help too. Even though our relationship didn't end on good terms, I'll always love you. You will always be my sweet buttercup brownie. You have a special place, right here." Hotch lightly patted his heart. He then looked at Haley and said, "No offense, but Mrs. Strauss was my first love and I just can't get over the woman I first fell in love with."
Not saying a word, Haley just nodded her head in a 'yes' motion, as if she were agreeing with Hotch.
"Oh. My. God. He calls me the most embarrassing nicknames! When is that child going to realize that we never dated?! I'm so glad none of my kindergartners that I have now, are like that." Strauss' face was a shade of red. She then said "Spencer, I'll let you know if I change my mind. And Aaron, I'm very glad I have a special place in your heart. I really appreciate that. And each and every one of you will always have a special place in my heart. I simply can never forget you."
A few minutes later, the group of first graders were walking down the hall and heading in the direction of their classroom. Alex then whispered in Will's ear and asked, "Hey, that lady, Mrs. Strauss, is she really crazy?"
Will whispered back to her and said, "Mmhm. We've been trying to get some help for her, but she just keeps refusing our help."
Alex sadly shook her head from side to side and whispered, "That's just really sad."
End of chapter six. Please let me know what you all thought. I just love receiving reviews. I'll even accept bad ones, at least I know this fic is getting read. Chapter seven will be up soon!
