A/N: Sorry for the long wait again. Here's the second half of the previous chapter. Hope you all enjoy it.
Disclaimer: I only own Eloise in this chapter. And also the spy names of each child.
Eloise had been clipping a stack of coupons, when Spencer and Maeve approached her.
"Um… Nei… I mean Mrs. Brinns." Spencer quickly corrected himself when Maeve elbowed his side. "Ow!" He whispered to Maeve.
"Sorry! Agent Lemon Pickles, but we can't let her know that we know who she really is." Maeve whispered back.
Eloise looked up from her stack and coupons and smiled kindly at the two children.
"Yes, is there something you need?" She asked.
"Did you know that turtles can live up to hundreds of years?" Maeve asked.
"Yes I did know that."
"And did you also know that penguins can't fly?" Spencer asked.
"I certainly did know that."
"Well, did you know that a flock of crows is known as a murder?"
"Really? I didn't know that." Eloise said.
"Yeah. She's right, Mrs. Brinns. And did you also know that Cherophobia is the fear of fun?"
"I didn't know that either. Wow. You two are couple of very smart first graders."
Spencer and Maeve's plan to distract Eloise, was working quite well. She was so intrigued in what they were telling her, that Beth and Emily were able to sneak out of the room without being noticed.
Emily slowly and quietly closed the door behind her as Beth looked around to see if anyone was nearby in the hall. When she saw no one, she turned to Emily and gave her a thumbs up.
"Nice work, Agent Cinnamon McStalker. Now let's go get some sand." Emily said.
"Wait, but what are we gonna use to put the sand in?"
The two girls had failed to grab something from the classroom for the sand. Emily looked around for something they could use, but saw nothing. She then took both her shoes off and said, "We'll use my shoes. They'll hold enough sand."
Back in the classroom, the rest of the children were doing what Emily had told them to do. Alex and Jordan had already retrieved the two jump ropes and was patiently just waiting for Emily to tell them when to tie up Eloise.
"Agent Snorkleberry Cakes? Do you think both these jump ropes will be able to hold Neila?" Jordan worriedly asked.
"I don't know, Agent Gingerbread Waffles. But I hope so." Alex also sounded worried.
Will and Jason had already removed all the dirt from the dying plant and placed it into the container. While waiting for Emily and Beth to return, Jason was absentmindedly tracing his finger through the dirt. Will was just staring off into space, until Jason brought him out of his thoughts by tapping on his arm.
"Hey, Agent Jalapeño Marshmallows. Look, I drew a mockingbird out of the dirt."
Will looked into the container and saw Jason's drawing.
"Pretty cool, Agent Anchovy Sprinkles."
"Thanks." Jason proudly said. "You wanna draw something too?" He offered the container of dirt to his classmate.
"Um… no thanks. I really can't think of anything to draw right now." Will politely said. He then noticed that Clyde and Grant were walking towards them, carrying cups. "I think Agents Pepperoni Saint Casserole and Mashed Potato Coleslaw got the water from the fish tank already."
Will was right. Clyde and Grant had gotten the water from the fish tank as they were told to. The two of them sat down on the floor next to Will and Jason and poured the water into the container. The dirt was now starting to look like mud.
"Now we just gotta wait for everyone else." Grant said.
"There's still enough water in the fish tank for the fish, right?" Jason asked.
"Don't worry, Agent Anchovy Sprinkles. There's enough." Clyde reassured him.
A couple of moments later, JJ and Kevin walked over to the group with ten small containers of play dough. They were each carrying five. As they sat down, they scooped all the play dough into the already muddy looking container.
"Nice work, Agent Frazzleberry Pasta." JJ said.
"Thanks. Same to you too, Agent Swiss Cheese Potatoes." Kevin replied back with a smile.
Soon after, Derek, Aaron and Elle had joined the group, bringing all the glitter along with them. Everyone noticed that Derek was covered in glitter.
"Whoa. What happened to you, Agent Greenleaf Bacon?" Grant asked.
"One of the glitters wasn't closed very good and he accidentally spilt it on himself." Elle answered.
"Uh, excuse me, Agent Fire Puffs Pastries, but he was asking me. Not you. Thank you very much." Derek stuck his tongue out at his classmate. He then turned to Grant and said almost exactly what Elle had just said.
"One of the glitters wasn't closed very good and I accidentally spilt it on myself, but on the brightside, at least my abs wasn't injured in the process."
"I may not be a genius, but I'm pretty sure, glitter isn't a danger to abs." Aaron said as he poured the glitter into the container. Elle was also helping him, but Derek was too busy brushing glitter from his shirt.
"You really wouldn't know, Agent Sparkle Snow Pringles. Unless, you had amazing abs like mine." Derek said.
Soon, Penelope, Haley, David and Ashley joined the group, with their fist clinched. They were carrying handfuls of lint.
"Did you find enough lint, Agent Tomato Muffins?" Elle asked.
"Yep. I found some of it on the carpet in the reading area. Agent Spinach Brownie found some in a desk. And Agents Flashy McOnion Breath and Sourdough Funnel Cookies found some the pockets of the coats on the coat rack." Haley explained as her group dropped the handfuls of lint in the container.
"And now we just gotta wait for Agents Cinnamon McStalker and Moldy Corn Flakes to come back with the sand." Jason said.
Except for Emily and Beth, there was no one else on the playground. It seemed eerily quiet without all the joyful shouts and laughter that usually fills the area. The two first graders were filling Emily's shoes with sand. Without her shoes on her feet, she was feeling the effects of the cold atmosphere.
"I should have worn two pairs of socks today." Emily said.
Beth removed her own shoes from her feet and also a pair of socks and said, "Here. I wore three pairs of socks today. You can wear a pair of mine." She then handed a pair of purple socks over to Emily.
"Thanks Agent Cinnamon McStalker." Emily said as she happily took the socks and placed them over her red and green striped socks.
"You're welcome. I think we got enough sand now." Beth said as both of Emily's shoes were completely filled with sand.
"I think you're right." Emily said as she stood up and brushed some sand off of her jeans. Beth did the same.
The two of them had walked passed a window and Emily decided to loudly tap on it, startling a third grade teacher and her students. Luckily for both Emily and Beth, the teacher or students didn't see either of them.
"Why did you do that for, Agent Moldy Corn Flakes?" Beth asked.
"Because all those kids looked bored in there. I had to do something." Emily explained.
Without being noticed, they managed to sneak back into the school and their classroom. The two of them dumped the sand into the container. Emily then started mixing all the ingredients up with her hands. Afterwards, she gave everyone a thumbs up and said,
"Nice work everyone."
The group stood up and walked over to where Alex and Jordan were patiently waiting with the jump ropes.
"Come on, Agents Snorkleberry Cakes and Gingerbread waffles. It's time to capture Neila." Aaron said.
"I hope she's bored out of her mind by now with all the stuff that Agents Lemon Pickles and Zucchini Butters are telling her." Penelope said.
"She should be." David said.
Eloise was nearly asleep as she listened to Spencer and Maeve continue to tell her all about everything they knew. Both children grinned at each other when they saw that their plan was working.
"And did you know that If you lift a kangaroo's tail off the ground, it can't hop." Spencer said.
"Nope. I didn't know that." Eloise said as she yawned.
"Well how about this. Did you know that there are more than ten million bricks in the empire state building?" Maeve asked.
"Wow. I certainly didn't know that. That's a lot of bricks. I'm learning a lot from you two today." Eloise was trying her best to stay awake, but she was truly getting bored from listening to the two children talk.
Spencer and Maeve had said just about everything they knew and were running out of facts to share with their teacher. Luckily for them, all their friends arrived.
"It's about time." Spencer whispered to Emily.
"Sorry. We just wanted to make sure Neila was fully distracted."
"I think it's safe to say she is. Look, she's sleeping." Maeve pointed at Eloise, who was snoring loudly.
"Okay, Agents Snorkleberry Cakes and Gingerbread Waffles. You know what to do." Emily said to Alex and Jordan.
When they tied the jump ropes around their substitute teacher, they were surprised that she slept through it. Clearly, she was a heavy sleeper. Even as Emily stood mere inches from her face and repeatedly knocked on her forehead with her little fist, Eloise still didn't wake up.
"Is she dead? Did Agents Lemon Pickles and Zucchini Butters kill her?!" Kevin frantically whispered.
"Wow. Who would have thought the two of us would cause someone to die because of boredom?" Maeve said about her and Spencer. "I mean no offense, but if anyone of us was going to cause someone's death, I always thought it would be Agent Swiss Cheese Potatoes. She's the most violent one out of all of us."
"I always thought it would be me too. Boy, were we wrong?!" JJ said in amazement.
"Don't worry. She's not dead." Spencer said.
"How do you know?!" Penelope asked, sharing the same worry as Kevin.
"Because she's snoring. And if she's snoring, then that means she's still alive." Spencer explained.
"So we didn't bore her to death?" Maeve asked.
"No, we just put her to sleep. That's all. Hey, why do you sound so disappointed?" Spencer asked skeptically of his friend.
"I just wanted to see if it was possible for someone to die of boredom." Maeve admitted, sadly.
"Don't be sad, Agent Zucchini Butters." JJ threw a comforting arm around Maeve's shoulder. "Just look on the bright side. At least you proved that a person can't die of boredom. Your name's gonna go down in history for this."
"I'm pretty sure that's already been proven a long time ago." Spencer said.
"How do you know? Are there any books or movies about someone who's already proved that a person can't die from being bored?" Emily asked.
"Well no, not ex…"
"Yeah. Didn't think so." Emily interrupted before Spencer could finish what he was saying. "Don't go stuffing cheese into a glazed donut, unless you know it's gonna fly."
"That doesn't make any sense at all. And has nothing do with what we're doing." A confused look had crossed Spencer's face.
"Agent Lemon Pickles, in the future, it will make sense. Just trust me. Everything that I've ever said that didn't make sense, will happen at some point in the future."
"Can we please just wake her up and find out where she's keeping my sour patch queen?!" Derek pleaded.
JJ rolled her eyes and said, "I got this," as she climbed onto Eloise lapped and slapped her across the face. Everyone grimaced as JJ's hand connected with Eloise's face, but much to their surprise, she still hadn't woke up.
"Let me try something!" Aaron demanded.
JJ hopped down from Eloise's lap and said, "Okay. Go ahead and try something, but I don't think it's gonna work."
"It might work." Aaron stood closely to Eloise and loudly shouted into her ear, "HEY, HAG! WAKE UP!"
Still, she remained asleep and snoring.
Aaron just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Hmm. Well, at least I tried."
"Emily? What are you doing?" Elle asked and the rest of the children saw Emily reaching into the container.
"Well, it looks like we're just gonna have to find Miss Norton by ourselves." Emily said.
"You mean, you're gonna put that stuff on Neila before she's able to tell us where Miss Norton is?!" Jordan asked, sounding shocked.
"Mmhm." Emily replied.
"NO! You can't! Not yet!" Derek whined.
"Too late." Emily said as she smeared the ingredients onto Eloise's hands and face.
"What in the world?!" Eloise eyes snapped open as she felt the ingredients on her face. She tried to stand, but couldn't, due to the jump ropes. "Untie me, this instant!" She demanded.
"No. Not until you tell us where you're hiding Miss Norton!" Haley said.
"What are you talking about?! I'm not hiding Miss Norton! She's at home, sick!" Eloise was struggled to break free from the ropes.
"Liar! We know you're an alien named Neila! And we know you have Miss Norton!" Grant said.
Finally, Eloise was able to free herself from the jump ropes.
"I am not an alien named Neila and I do not have Miss Norton!"
"Don't make us put more of this stuff on you! Because we will if we have to!" David threatened as his hand was already into the container.
"Why do you all think I'm an alien who has your teacher hidden?!" Eloise demanded to know.
"We don't think. We know." Emily glared at the substitute teacher. "Now tell us where our teacher is!"
Eloise angrily stood up, causing a few of the children to back away in fear.
"You children are monsters!" She stormed out of the class room. Where she was going, no one knew.
Elizabeth Prentiss had just gotten off the phone when Eloise stomped into the room with a look of anger. Elizabeth was certainly surprised by the woman's appearance.
"What happened to you?" Elizabeth curiously asked.
"You can find someone else to substitute for Miss Norton's class! Just look at what they did to me!" Eloise pointed at her face and held up her hands. If her face wasn't covered in the substance from the container, Elizabeth would have been able to see how red her face was turning.
" Why would they do that to you?"
"Because they think I'm an alien and that I'm keeping their teacher in a secret hidden location! I've never dealt with kids like that before! They're monsters who should all be locked up in cages!"
Elizabeth was shocked by Eloise words. She too was starting to get angry, but managed to control herself. In a calm voice, she spoke.
"Mrs. Brinns, might I remind you that one of those so called monsters just happens to be my daughter, Emily. And I can assure you that neither she or any of those other children in that classroom are monsters. They just have perfectly active imaginations. Which is something I'm sure you've had once when you were their age."
Eloise stamped her foot.
"If you're going to sit there behind your desk and defend your daughter and the rest of those brats, then there's no point in arguing anymore!"
"So, we're done here?"
Without saying a word, Eloise angrily huffed and marched out of Elizabeth's office. Elizabeth just sighed deeply and said to herself, "If you can't handle first graders, then this isn't the place for you." She then stood up from her chair and walked to the door.
The children were now sitting in a circle in the reading area. After Eloise had left them unattended, they quickly got over the whole idea of her being an alien. They were now back to using their regular names and playing a little reading game where they were each allowed to say three words and then the next person would get to add more to the story. They had already told one story and had now moved onto the next one. It was a game that they were all really quite enjoying.
"There once was..." Haley began the story.
"a pirate who..." Grant added the next part.
"was digging for…" Spencer chimed in.
"buried treasure, but…" Will added.
"instead, he found…" Elle said.
"a trunk full…" Penelope stated the next part.
"Of seashells and…" Jordan said.
The children were interrupted by the sound of the door opening. They turned the attention to see who was coming into the classroom. When the saw who it was, they were happy to see that it was their principal, Elizabeth Prentiss and not their substitute teacher.
"Mommy!"
"Elizabeth!"
Both David and JJ had run right up to Elizabeth. They each wrapped their arms around Elizabeth's legs.
"David, let go of her! You're crushing her leg! And I told you to never call her that again!" Emily demanded as she was desperately trying to release her classmate's grasp from her mother's leg.
"No! I don't have to! Why don't you tell JJ to let go?! Maybe she's the one who's crushing mommy's leg!"
JJ temporarily released her hold of Elizabeth's leg and with a glaringly look at David, said, "Remind me to throw my soccer ball at your head, later."
"Hey, I don't want to hear that kind of talk from any of you." Elizabeth warned. "And Emily, David nor JJ are crushing my legs. I'm perfectly alright."
"I know JJ isn't, but you're lying about David. He's crushing your legs. You just don't want to hurt his feelings." Emily implied.
Elizabeth managed to free herself from both David and JJ and directed them and Emily back to the reading area. She sat down along with them.
"Okay, so what's this about Mrs. Brinns being an alien?" She asked, changing the subject. When she saw that a few of the children looked afraid, she assured them they wasn't in trouble.
"We thought she was an alien named Neila who was hiding my precious marshmallow doll!" Derek wailed while most of his classmates just rolled their eyes in annoyance.
"Marshmallow doll?" Elizabeth questioned.
"He's talking about Miss Norton. He's in love with her." Haley explained.
"Oh. I see. Now does anyone want to tell my why all that stuff was on Nei… I mean Mrs. Brinns' face and hands?"
"Emily said it would turn Mrs. Brinns into a puddle of green slime." Spencer said.
"What was that stuff, anyway?"
After the children had finished explaining to Elizabeth what they had mixed up into the container, she let out a laugh.
"You all have very creative and active imaginations."
"You're really not mad at us?" Alex asked.
"Of course not. And you don't have to worry about Mrs. Brinns or shall I say Neila," Elizabeth grinned. "coming back here. She was so mad, that she left."
"So, who's gonna be our substitute teacher now?" Ashley asked.
"Well, I guess I'll have to be. At least until Miss Norton gets well and is able to come back." Elizabeth said.
"So she's really not in danger?" Derek asked with hopefulness.
"Nope. She's just at home sick with the flu. I'm sure she'll be back as soon as she can." Elizabeth said.
End of chapter fourteen. I hope you all liked it. I'd love to see some reviews. Good or bad, just don't be too mean if you didn't like it. I'll have the next chapter up as soon as I can.
