A/N: Thanks to everyone who read and reviewed for the previous chapter. I'm glad you liked it. I hope you'll like this next chapter just as much.

Disclaimer: I only own the nurse in this chapter.

JJ's face scrunched up in confusion as she read the message on the card that Savannah had made for her. It read, "Sorry you got hurt. Hope you feel better soon. P.S. Derek's my boyfriend. So don't try to steal him away from me. Love, Savannah." There was a little red heart after Savannah's name. "What is she talking about?" JJ asked herself. Savannah's card was one of the first ones she had read. She rummaged through the stack of cards she had received from her classmates, until she finally found Derek's. When she saw the message attached to the card, she rolled her eyes. It read, "Hey there beautiful, sorry about what happened to you. Hope you get well soon. Be my girlfriend, please. Wait, never mind. Savannah's standing right behind me and she looks really mad. Love, Derek." "No thank you." She said as if she were talking to someone.

A nurse had walked in, carrying a tray. "Miss Jennifer, it's time for dinner now." She sat the tray on the table attached to JJ's bed and scooted it towards her.

"Thanks." JJ said.

"You're welcome." The nurse left the room after that.

JJ removed the lid from the tray and scrunched up her face in disgust at what she saw. Roast beef, coleslaw and jello. She could handle the jello, but roast beef and coleslaw was just two of the foods that she absolutely hated. None the less, she was hungry. So she took a few bites of the roast beef and a spoonful of the coleslaw. She was thankful for the small jug of chocolate milk that came with the meal. She definitely needed it to wash down the awful taste the food left in her mouth. Afterwards, she ate the jello.

There was a faint knock and JJ looked up to see Emily, who was holding a card in her hands. She looked uncertain as to whether JJ would want her there or not. A smile had spread across JJ's face.

"Emily! I was hoping you'd be here, today!"

Emily walked closer to JJ's bedside, but froze when she saw five tiny stitches on JJ's forehead and a large bruise on right side of her face. "Are… are you okay, Jennifer?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'm okay. The doctor said I'll probably have a scar on my forehead, but the bruise should go away in about a week."

"I'm glad to hear that. Here, I made this for you today." Emily was now next to the bed and handed JJ the card she had made for her.

JJ took the card from Emily and saw what it had said, "Get well soon, Jennifer. I hope we can be friends again, someday." She smiled at Emily and said, "You don't have to call me Jennifer anymore. You're my friend, and my friends get to call me JJ."

"You really mean that? We're friends again?" Emily was shocked.

"Mmhm." JJ replied. "Before I got hurt Sunday night, my parents, sister and I were driving over to your house to see if you wanted to get some ice cream with us. Sorry, we never made it there." She said with an apologetic smile.

Emily returned a smile back to JJ. "That's okay. We can get ice cream some other time. I'm just glad you're okay. I didn't know you was coming to my house before you got hurt."

"I wanted to surprise you. I told my parents and sister that I didn't wanna to stop being your friend anymore."

"I don't wanna to stop being your friend anymore, either." Emily said as she and JJ embraced each other in a hug. She then saw the stack of cards on the bedside table. "Are those from everyone else in our class?" She asked.

"Yep. I guess they all stopped by to visit earlier when I was sleeping. I thought I had a dream where Penelope was crying and patting my arm and telling me to rest in peace, but I don't think it was a dream." JJ just shrugged her shoulders and laughed. "We all know how Penelope is. She gets confused very easily."

Emily laughed along with her friend. "Yeah. Remember last year in kindergarten when Elle had to go to the nurse's office because I put gum in her hair and Penelope made her that card that said, "I'm sorry you died."?"

"Yeah. That was funny. Elle seemed so mad at Penelope. I felt very sorry for Penelope that day, though."

"Yeah me too. At least she was thinking of Elle." Emily responded back. "Where's your family?"

"Roslyn's gonna play the piano in a concert tonight. So mommy and daddy went to take her there. They told me that they would all be back when the concert was over."

"Oh. So, when do you get to leave here?" Emily asked.

"The doctor said I could go home tomorrow morning. Which is a really good thing because the food here is really nasty." JJ scrunched up her face, causing Emily to laugh.

"Are you gonna be at school tomorrow?" Emily asked hopefully.

"Yep. I think so."

"I should probably go now. Mommy's out in the hall waiting for me." Emily said. "Maybe this weekend, you can come over to my house and we can play soccer."
"Or we could play something else. Like spies." JJ suggested.

"Or how about both?" Emily smiled.

JJ smiled back. "Yeah. That sounds like more fun."

End of chapter nineteen. Please let me know what you thought. I know I said this was only going to be a three part storyline, but I've decided to add a fourth part to it. That chapter will be a bit more humorous and I'll try to have it up as soon as possible.
