Sorry it has taken me so long to update but I've got a new job, and I have had a lot of induction and orientation to do. Plus I used to do most of my writing when I was commuting, but the commute to my new job is very short so my writing time has been cut down. So it is taking me longer to draft and type these chapters up.
I don't own the Finder series or any of its associated characters.
I've also gone back and did some touching up to previous chapters. And I also merged some chapters together together, I like long chapters I just don't seem to be any good at writing them. And changed a few bits dialogue that were really bugging me.
I would also like to say sorry if you've already left a review for the previous chapter 14, which means you can't leave a review for this chapter.
I would like to thank Luc your review to the last chapter helped me solve a plotting problem which had been driving me crazy for ages. The solution was absurdly simple.
Chapter 14- You'll be mine.
Asami had the contents of Ayame's package brought to him. Kirishima took the tongue and organised a DNA test, in an attempt to identify the owner.
Kirishima's earlier hunch paid off the serial number of Sudoh's second phone came from the same batch as the phone sent to them by Suzumebachi and the one found on Sanada .Suoh played the disc for Asami. They both looked on their boss' eyes hardened into two chips of ice, as all three listened to the recorded conversations of Sudoh and the Hornet. They heard everything from Sudoh importuning Akihito's murder to his own planned suicide. "Suoh." Asami's voice was steady, calm and so low that Suoh had to strain to hear him. He sounded no more moved than if someone had told him today's weather. Suoh knew better his boss' present demeanour was a sign that he was at his most enraged, his most dangerous, and his most sadistic. By the time Asami was finished the only sign that Sudoh had ever existed would be a bloody stain on the floor.
"Check with the team watching Sudoh find out where he is."
Suoh took out his phone, and he hoped that the team hadn't screwed up because if so there would be a few more dead bodies by the end of the day. Suoh hang up his phone after a few minutes "He hasn't moved from his apartment since last night Asami sama."
"Then go and fetch him."
Suoh and a team of men made their way up to Sudoh's apartment, they rang the bell and knocked on the door but there was no answer so they let themselves in. The apartment was in total darkness. One of Suoh's men felt for a light switch and turned on the lights. And there in the middle of the living room sat on a chair was Sudoh, with a single bullet hole in his head.
When Asami was informed of what had occurred he wanted unleash his rage, to retaliate, but he knew better, he wasn't going to react the way that Suzumebachi wanted him to. He would not lose control of his anger. Instead he would do as he'd always done, he would store it, compartmentalise it and save it for a more appropriate time. It was the Hornet who killed Sudoh or at the very least he had ordered it, Asami was hundred percent certain of that, Sudoh was a liability to Suzumebachi. The hornet could not be sure of Sudoh's loyalties, there was no way to be certain that Sudoh for whatever reason would not turn on the Hornet and reveal everything to Asami. Though Asami had been robbed of the chance to deal with Sudoh personally, he understood Suzumebachi's actions, as he himself would have done the same.
As Kirishima was sending off a sample of the tongue to Ayame at her request, Suoh and a forensics team were combing through Sudoh's apartment for evidence. Suoh had deduced how the assassins carried out the hit. Yes assassins Suoh was positive that two people were involved in the assassination of Sudoh. According to the surveillance report a few days ago a man and women moved into the vacant apartment next door. The apartment complex is part of a gated community, only Sudoh's front door and living room window were visible from the street. And it was in the street that the surveillance car was stationed.
The picked lock on the balcony doors and a partial foot print on the railings it was obvious how the assailant had effected entry. The distance between the two balconies wasn't great, it was possible to stand on one railing and stretch across to the other. Considering the fact that the balcony was four stories off the ground it would have taken some nerve, if you had slipped or lost your grip the result would be death or serious injury. According to the surveillance the couple had left early that morning wearing hats and scarves so there wasn't a detailed description of them, plus the information they had given the letting agency was fake. Suoh concluded that Sudoh Shu had met his end at the hands of the Hornet's drones.
In a secret location in the city Suzumebachi held court, surrounded by his drones. The drones numbered twelve, though there had once been thirteen. The drones were comprised of nine men and three women. All of them had suffered at the hands of creatures like Asami. Suzumebachi found them, broke them down and then rebuilt them into to loyal, mindless drones. They thought of nothing but their cause, they had no wish or desire that didn't emanate from the will of their master. Each drone was dressed in alike in dark clothing and running shoes bought from lower end chain stores. They couldn't wear or own anything that bore any stamp of individuality or that tied them to their previous existence. They didn't even possess their names anymore, he took them and rechristened them with a number.
It was numbers Seven and Twelve that terminated Sudoh, and he praised them accordingly for dispensing justice. For they were dispensers of Justice. The Law and Justice are not strictly one and the same. Creatures like Asami proved it when they used the law to escape and evade justice, when they corrupted those who had sworn to uphold law, and enforce justice. Suzumebachi and his drones were higher than creatures like Asami, higher than corrupted officials, higher than the law itself, they saw themselves as the embodiment of true natural justice.
"By now you are all familiar with our lasts quarry Asami Ryuichi, he is possible the very worst of the scum we have so far eradicated. Our actions against have already began against him some have been successful." Suzumebachi nodded towards Numbers Seven and Twelve. "And others less so but we shall not let Number Thirteen's death be in vain, but we all know without no sacrifice there is no victory." Suzumebachi no turned his gaze onto five drones and said "I trust that each of you completed your missions and eliminated your targets in Moscow, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Osaka and Ginza."
Drones Four, One, Nine, Five and Ten all replied "Yes Master."
"Excellent work of all you." Suzumebachi smiled his mask that he always wore in the presence of his drones didn't cover the lower part of his face, his smile showed off his almost inhumanly straight white teeth. And when he wasn't wearing a mask a liberal use of make-up and prosthetics ensured that no one could be sure of what he really looked like. "Number Eleven has our source anymore to tell us?"
"No shall I terminate him?" said a Number Eleven, she had light lilting voice.
"No it shall be done but not by us. Get some rest all of you, for soon we begin in earnest." They all filed out of the room and returned to their respective accommodations, all except Number Three. The relationship between Suzumebachi and Number Three was complicated, the origins of Number Three were akin to those of Akira Yuki and Sudoh Shu. However unlike Akira and to some degree Sudoh no one had ever tried to repair the damage done to him. He simply grew more and more fractured. He was slightly built, there was not an ounce of fat on him and he's very strong. Number Three is dangerous, perhaps the most deadly of all the drones. They are all devoted to Suzumebachi but none more so than Number Three, and proof of this was the additional facet of their relationship.
Number Three walked towards his master and sunk to his knees. Number Three took his master's cock into his mouth and set a slow languid pace, taking his master's cock all way to the hilt. Number Three enjoyed the sensation of feeling his master's cock harden in his mouth, the ridge of a vein, the slight beat of the pulse within. Number Three had joined Suzumebachi six years ago, this element of their relationship had be going on for four years. He wasn't Suzumebachi's lover he knew that, perhaps master and concubinus is perhaps a more fitting way to describe their relationship. Number Three closed his eyes in bliss as his lips caressed the broad head of his master's cock. Number Three was pleased with his ability to please his master, not only in this but in all things. He was well aware of Suzmebachi's interest in Takaba Akihito. Number Three had found some of the surveillance material that Suzumebachi had gathered on Akihito.
Number Three could understand the interest that both his master and Asami had in Takaba. There was something rather enchanting about him. Number Three had dedicated himself to Suzumebachi, the Hornet was the one who gave him a chance, a true purpose, and he was the one who gave his life meaning. For the person who gave you a chance there is nothing you wouldn't do for them. If his master wanted Takaba Akihito, then have him he shall. And no doubt Suzumebachi would allow him to help in the training of Akihito, the boy was wilful that much was obvious. But Takaba would be helped to see the wonder of Suzumebachi and his cause. Soon he would be one them - a Drone. He would be freed from the world he lived in and new one would be opened to him. A true and noble purpose would soon be his, and he would know the bliss that came from absolute surrender. Surrender to a superior being and purpose. Number Three and Akihito would be brothers in arms and in love for their master. This thought was in his mind as he swallowed down the thick seed of his master.
As Ayame sat in her office and pondered, it had been two days since the package was delivered to Ayame and three since Sudoh's death. Ayame informed Akihito of Sudoh's death. Though he said nothing he didn't have to Ayame knew that Akihito blamed himself. As Kirishima has informed Ayame of what was on the disc, and she in turn informed Akihito. No longer were things to be hidden from him, she wanted him to talk but she knows how stubborn Akihito is, he'll talk when he wants to and not a minute sooner. There was a knock at the door and in came Mikki "We got DNA from the sample we received from Kirishima san." Mikki slide across Ayame's desk a single sheet of paper, Ayame looked down at it "It's as your suspected."
"I see contact all Section Chiefs apprise them of this new development and have them enact the relevant protocols. And get Section Chief Kurosawa here I have special job for him."
"Are you going to release me any time soon?" Asked Kirishima as he tugged at the handcuffs that secured him to Ayame's bed. She straddled him and began to free him "If I had my way no, but I better let you get back to Asami my little snakelet." As Kirishima began to dress Ayame once again caught herself admiring his firm posterior, but it was his tattoo that really drew her eye. She seen many in her time but this one was one of the most impressive. Blue clouds and pink lotus covered his back, intertwined with black snakes. A black and red cobra rose above the others with its hood flared and fangs bared. It looked like it could come alive and strike at any moment. "Did you know that a body was found this morning it was not too far from one of Asami sama's business which is why it came to our attention. It was badly disfigured but the Police managed to identify it by its finger prints."
"And who was this person?"
"Shidou Hiro."
" I know the police came to see me. Well it looks like one of his creditors finally caught up with him. Did they take any organs?" Kirishima didn't have to look at Ayame to confirm what he suspected, that Shidou Ayame had killed her husband. Though he was intrigued to know why she wanted so long to do it, he been gone for over a year. He couldn't help but wonder what had happened that made her take action now. Kirishima had taken a look at the police investigation, she was considered a suspect simply because as the scorned wife it was deemed she had motive to kill him. But there was nothing to link her to his death and Kirishima had a feeling that exactly it would remain."By the way I need an appointment with Asami, there is a matter that I need to discuss with him."
As Ayame zipped up the last of her suitcases up her phone began to rang, she hit the green button "Hello."
"Ayame san Kurosawa san is on his way to pick you up, he'll be at there in ten minutes. He'll also make sure that Akihito gets to school safely. I've talked to all the Section Chiefs and they have enacted the relevant protocols. I'll meet you at Sion."
"Ok then I'll see you." Said Ayame and she rang off and put her phone into her bag. Akihito walked into her room and sat down on her bed.
"I see you'll all packed."
"Yeah, you ok with me doing this?"
"Hey it's what you have to do, don't feel bad about it."
Do you have everything you need for school?"
"Yes, wait a minute." Akihito went out her room and came back a few moments later "Could you give this to Asami?" he held up a large rectangular brown paper parcel "A bribe?"
"No a gift."
"Ok I'll take it, come on Kurosawa kun is going to be her in a little while."
Ayame watched as Akihito got into a car and driven to school. She took a breath and got into the second waiting car, seated next to her was Kurosawa. The former mercenary ran a special section of the Finders. The Finders gather information subtlety and usually by indirect means. Kurosawa's section was different their methods were more active and direct. They also acted as Ayame's muscle, but she rarely chose to flex them.
Asami's interest was piqued by the arrival of Shidou san to his office at Sion. Not only had she brought the women who from the description provided by Akira was called Mikki, she had brought guards with her. His experienced eye told him that they were all well-honed and seasoned professionals. "Asami san have you been able to identify the owner of the tongue I was sent?"
"No we have not Shidou."
"Well we have it belonged to an operative of mine based in Ginza. After that we began to see if any of the other Finders had unexpectedly disappeared. So far we have confirmed deaths in Tokyo, Osaka, Moscow, Hong Kong and San Francisco. But there could be more."
"How did Suzumebachi track down your people?" Asked Kirishima who by now was being to put the pieces together as to the reason of Ayame's visit to Asami.
"There was a leak. The five people that were killed were among the first Finders I ever recruited. To cut a long story short the leak has been taken care of. However the damage has been done. If I don't act now I won't have a network."
"You're leaving?"
"Yes Asami san. I need to rally my troops, they are sacred and demoralized. Unlike you I don't have any real power over them, if they chose to walk away there is very little I can do to stop them, especially being so far away."
"Is the loss of five agents really so devastating?" Asked Akira
"Yes my organisation is not as large as yours and it's thinly stretched. So yes the loss of five people is a blow. Akira san I will not watch everything I have created crumble."
"That is perfectly understandable Shidou san, after all if you want something done right do it yourself."
"Exactly Asami san, plus I'm sure you understand that there are something's a leader must do in person."
"Very well if you must leave Shidou san then go."
"Thank you for understanding Asami san, but before I go allow me to give you this." She waved her hand and Mikki came forward, she drew from her hand bag a pack of playing cards. She placed them on Asami desk and took a card off the top of the deck. She then peeled off the back and placed in faced down onto Asami's desk. Underneath the fake backing was a photograph of what appeared to be foliage of a tree. The three men watched as Mikki peeled away the back of each playing card and set it down on the desk, and just like a jigsaw puzzle a picture began to form. The completed puzzle was an image of one of Asami's vassal's meeting with one of Asami's competitors. "That is a very interesting way of transporting information Mikki san." Remarked Asami.
"Why thank you Asami sama. After all no one would question a professional gambler carrying a couple of decks of cards." She reached into her bag and produced six more decks "These contain documents and photographs that I'm sure you'll find interesting."
Ayame waved her hand once again "And this is from Akihito, and he is also part of the reason for my visit."
"He is?"
"Yes, you see with my departure he'll be by himself Asami san. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but with Suzumebachi around I don't want to leave him by himself. Plus he's been listless since I told him about Sudoh, and circumstances around the idiot's death. But Akihito blames himself for that little fool's death, I tried to tell him otherwise but he won't listen to me. He's like that when it comes to people he cares, and I think part of him did still cared about Sudoh. When it comes to those he cares about if they get hurt or in trouble he takes it as a personal failing, he thinks that he should have done more help. Akihito loves to care for others, but if you try to take of him he'll fight tooth and nail. So I'm asking will you watch over Akihito."
"You trust me that much?"
"No but you're the devil I know. And don't think you would let anything happen to him."
Asami agreed to take care of Akihito, the boy's aunt was right with Suzmebachi and his drones it wasn't safe for Akihito to be on his own or even stay with his friends. Also with Suzumebachi also having in interest in Akihito if he saw Asami getting closer with Asami he might start getting angry. Anger can make you sloppy, anger can lead to you making mistakes.
Asami opened the package from Akihito, as he tore the paper away an eye was revealed. An eye of molten gold, with black slit. As Asami removed the rest of the paper, the image became clear it was dragon. A black dragon, its scales glinted with deep jewel highlights of sapphire, emerald and amethyst. The bright red background it rested on stood out sharply, and in the grasp of one of its fore claws was a large creamy white pearl.
Akihito couldn't wait for the school day to be over, he spaced out as his maths teacher droned on about how to solve some boring equation that he was never going to use in real life. Not that any of it really mattered, from the second he got into to school he been operating on autopilot. He didn't want to be at school, he didn't want to be surrounded by people. He wondered what had happened to Sudoh's body and if he had gotten a decent funeral. Akihito bore some guilt over what happened to Sudoh, because he saw how the attraction between him and Asami upset Sudoh. It was partially the reason that Akihito went along with Sudoh's plan to stand Asami up. At the time Akihito was paying attention to the voice in hi8s head that said "Ok so you're attracted to Asami and what of it. You live right on the edge of his world. You know the rules but don't play the game, not like Sudoh. He is already part of Asami's world. And do you honestly think you could keep Asami satisfied? No doubt Sudoh knows what would please Asami you can't compete. It'll end with you getting hurt so why even risk it? You were fine before you met Asami and you'll be fine when he's gone." It was this voice that persisted until that night when Asami came to see after the abortive first date, and new voice began to speak "You're attracted to Asami and he to you so what the hell is the problem! If Asami wanted to be with Sudoh he would be, but he is not and that should tell you all you need to know. Why should you deny yourself something that could make you happy? Even if it doesn't last forever it's better than nothing. Why should you give up your happiness for Sudoh? For a person who cares nothing for you, for a person who wouldn't appreciate the sacrifice you've made."
And so for the first time in a long time Takaba Akihito put himself and his desires first, to not give a damn what anyone thought and take what he wanted with both hands. However even for a determined Takaba it was difficult, he loved his friends and family, but a romantic relationship with another person was something he long accepted he never was going to have. Love, attraction, desire those were the messy sides of human nature. He watched such emotions wreck his mother time and time again. So he learned to love his loneliness. To accept the fact that life can be lived and loved alone. He chose to be safe, to forever guard his heart and himself from being hurt.
As soon as school was over Akihito quickly said goodbye to his friends, he ran out the gates and skidded to a halt. Leaning up against a black sleek car was Asami Ryuichi. As Akihito approached Asami opened the car door and Akihito slide in. Asami got and the car drove off "Shidou san told you what happened to Sudoh I take it?"
"Yes and I believe she has told you what happened to some of her Finders."
Silence reigned for a few minutes, the only sound was the low purr of the engine. "Sudoh's death wasn't your fault, we all make choices in this life and chose poorly."
"He probably felt he didn't have a choice."
"There is always a choice. He chose not see the other options, he was fool who let emotion blind him to the truth. Suzumebachi manipulated him like a pawn on a chessboard. His fate was sealed the moment he gave up to his petty jealousies, there was nothing you could have done."
Akihito hung his head, deep down he knew that there was nothing he could have done, but he wished he could have done something to save Sudoh. Akihito disliked Sudoh but he couldn't bring himself to severely hate him. They grew up together and they both came from difficult homes. They perfectly understood the motivations and wants of the other. Akihito understood Sudoh's need for money and security, as Sudoh understood Akihito's need for independence. 'Sudoh may have been a fool but does that really justify death?'
"You're quite the artist."
Akihito looked up at Asami and smiled a little "I started i that painting after you and I met for the second time. I surprised I even finished it. Part of me was so obsessed with getting right, while the other part of me wanted to take a knife to the canvas. Any idea what it all represents?"
"I'm the dragon."
"If you say so."
"And the pearl what does that represent?"
"A work of art can be interpreted in many different ways. Perhaps the pearl stands for the world you hold in your hand."
"Or perhaps a pearl beyond price." Asami pulled Akihito onto his lap. Asami took possession of Akihito's mouth, and coaxed Akihito's tongue into a dual for dominance, which Asami of course won. One of Asami's hands was splayed at the small of Akihito's back, and the other found its way under Akihito's shirt. Asami began to tease the sensitive flesh at the base of Akihito's stomach, making the boy whimper with every caress. Asami's hand travelled upwards towards Akihito's nipples, every flick, every squeeze caused Akihito to arch his body in an attempt to get even closer to Asami. Akihito writhed like a cat in Asami's lap, he could feel Asami getting hard underneath him, and he could feel himself getting harder. Akihito laced his fingers into Asami's hair. Each cry uttered by Akihito was swallowed up by Asami.
The car came to a stop and Asami realised Akihito's lips. Akihito was breathing hard, he felt like he had an electric current running through his body, and he couldn't take his eyes of Asami. Asami looked sleek and inhuman, a man of steel and velvet, impeccably groomed exquisite and impossible.
Akihito and Asami accompanied by Suoh and some of the other guards went up to Ayame's apartment to pack Akihito's things. As Akihito was about to put the key in the lock, suddenly Asami grasped Akihito's wrist "Suoh." He pulled Akihito behind him, Suoh pulled out his gun and slowly pushed open the door. Followed by two other men he entered the apartment. Akihito held his breath right up until the moment Suoh returned, and said that there was something that they both had to see.
The apartment was exactly the way Ayame and Akihito had left that morning, however there was music playing. Suoh led them to the guest room that Akihito was using, Akihito and Asami stood in the doorway taking in the sight that was before them. Akihito's bed and surrounding walls were adorned with black and white photographs. Photographs of him and Asami. Some of them showed Asami and Akhito together, others showed them separately. When asked by Asami Akihito asserted that the apartment had been locked. A quick inspection of the lock proved that it had been tampered with. The photographs looked like they had all be taken at a distance. And in each of the photographs Asami's eyes had been scratched out. On the desk was MP3 player and speakers, which over and over again kept playing the same song. The words bleeding into the minds of everyone present
Now you know now you know
How I feel and I won't back down
Prick your finger on a spinning wheel
But don't make a sound
Drop of blood and now you're taken for all time
With a kiss you will awaken
And you'll be mine you'll be mine you'll be mine

Author notes:
The method that Mikki uses to transport photos and documents was during the Second World War, maps were smuggled into POW camps using this method.
Concubinus - A young male slave/prostitute used by an older man in ancient Rome for sexual purposes.
This chapter takes its title from the song 'You'll be Mine' by The Pierces. I don't own the song full credit goes to its writer Catherine Pierce. The song was also the inspiration for this chapter, and I drove everyone in my house mad by playing it over and over again. It's one of the songs that always make me think of Asami and Aki.
