The briefcase was filled with pictures of me as a child, every single one of them a smile plastered to me face. There were a few of Kushina, and then just a handful of all three of us and a copy of the picture of Minato and Kushina that was on the wall. It seemed as of though all that was in this briefcase were just photos, but I found a few documents, mainly just pertaining to the company. However, none of these had that number printed at the top of them, and they didn't have the company's name on them. They were all titled as 'Secretion'.

Could this be the 'special branch' people rumored about?

I leant forward to read more, but I shook my head and lay them back in case. Now was not the time to fully digest all of this. I quickly scanned, trying to find anything else, and I came across an envelope.

'Naruto'.

I licked my lips a little nervously and shut the case, making sure to jot down it's combination in my phone and holding it firmly in my hands. My neck began to pulse, pulling my skin in a bad direction slightly but surely. I growled at it's annoyance and walked out into the hallway to find Sasuke, a part of me staying behind in that room.

"Ne, Sasuke! Where did you go?"

"I'm right behind you," I felt his breath on my neck and I jumped and turned to me his amused expression. I pouted at his chuckle. "Idiot. Let's go,"

The car ride home was pretty silent, just like the one here, but it was different. This one was full of tension. My mark was still bugging me and I wondered why.

Did Sasuke's bother him too?

When we got back to the house, I put the briefcase in my closet and went to the kitchen. Sasuke was already at work, getting out some vegetables in order to cook.

Not again.

I mean, I liked his cooking, it was really good, but I didn't want it three days in a row. It's not like he cooks the same things over and over again, it's just his food is always so...light. They're missing something.

"Ah, that's okay. You don't have to cool tonight." He turned to look at me, my mark beginning to burn softly. He turned back around.

"No."

I sighed a little annoyingly, something in my body wanting me to go over there and just...

He looked at me over his shoulder, mischief in his eyes and a smirk on his face.

Attack him.

He turned around fully and I leapt forward, his hands grabbing my sides roughly in order to soften the blow. Our lips crashed together, both of us wincing at the pain sprouting from the force. My shoulder was pulsating, specifically my mark, and it burned numbly. I rested my hands on the counter behind him, holding my weight up, and his hands moved to grip my hair as we separated for a moment to breathe. We quickly reattached our muscles to one another, my own trying to push harder against his, a growl emitting low in his throat at that and a smile coming to my face. He didn't seem to like that either, so he bit my bottom lip.

I winced. "Ow! Dummy...what...are you...doing?" I managed between contact.

"What you wanted... You seem to like...messing with the wrong...people."

I bit his lip in response. "No one ever said...that you were bad."

He chuckled.

"You should've known that...by now."

We cut the chatter and softened our grips and forces against each other, our bodies resting against one another gently and our lips dancing. One of my hands snaked up to his cheek, his head turning in that direction to rest against it. I could feel my heart beat, it's fast pumps so loud I swear Sasuke could hear it. My jaw must've slacked at my thoughts, because I felt his tongue snake into my mouth and instinctively, my own met his. The contact sent chills down my back. Our slick muscles wrestled and melded together, his hand tugging lightly on my hair once again. That let delicious chills ran down my body and I groaned, pressing against him. I felt him smirk before our tongues danced once more, his hands suddenly pushing on my chest and off of him forcefully.

What the hell?

"What was that?" I was a little upset, but more confused. Why would he just suddenly push me off of him like that? It wasn't like it was just me that was into this. He was too, I felt that for sure. He looked to his right, a strange glint in his eye that I couldn't quite decode.

"I don't know." My eyebrows knit together slowly, my eyes wide in disbelief.

Did he just admit that he didn't know something?

Granted, this isn't the situation I was hoping it would be under be nonetheless he can't take that back.

I stared at him again, his face so conflicted as he tried to avoid me. My mark burned, however, and it put a different kind of passion in me.

"Sasuke..." I gave him ten seconds to look at me before I walked back over to him and turned his head, our eyes matching intensity before our lips meeting once again.

Thank you, Sasuke.

When I woke up I felt this weight on my chest, and I groaned and tried to push it off due to the obvious lack of comfort. I snickered when the object wouldn't move, my eyes opening and being flashed with a ray of sun.

Or blonde hair.

I scanned the room for my shirt, as it seemed to be missing from my body, and grimaced when I couldn't find it. I looked back down at the mess on top of me.

Idiot.

I sat up, keeping his head up with my hand, and slowly slid out of bed before placing his head back down on the bed. I was about to turn when I decided to gaze at him for a minute. The sun was coating his already tan skin, giving him a glow, and his naked torso was spread diagonally from one side of the bed to the other. His sweats were hanging off of his hip and unconsciously I followed it down only to find nothing of interest; he was still covered up.

I turned and walked out, closing the door softly behind me. I did my business in the bathroom, making my way into the kitchen afterwards. Upon entry I found the missing shirt, hanging oddly off of one of the upper cabinets. I proceeded to put it back on and make breakfast, pancakes the only thing on my mind.

Well, that and a particularly tan, whiskered guy.

What the hell am I saying?

I set down my whisk, running my right hand over my face as if to wipe off the thoughts.

He's just a nice fuck, that's all. He just happens to be my soulmate and pretty attractive. And a great kisser. And very dominating. Fuck, stop it Sasuke! Get yourself together!

I sighed and let my head rest again the top cabinets.

It's just because he's your Mate. Your body is making you think this way. It's not real.

"If Naruto saw you express as many emotions as you just did, he'd pass out and claim to believe that Jesus was in the room." I jumped and hit my head against the mahogany, cursing under my breath but refusing to look at him.

"Such a nice 'Welcome!', Sasuke. How are you so kind, please do tell."

There was some silence.

"What the hell do you want, Kakashi?" I could feel his grin on my back.

"Now now, don't be so mean. I could have mentioned that if Naruto had also seen the way you were ogling him earlier, he might've jumped you right then and there, but I didn't. I'm just here to help." I snickered.

"You and I know that he wouldn't jump me unless his body was dying and needed it to live."

The graying man smirked. "Naruto isn't as innocent as you seem to like to believe. He's just as sexual and blunt as any other person. He learns to hide things better. He's selective, maybe that's what it is. He, how do I say this, likes only the best fruit that he can hand pick." I laughed and turned.

I was smirking, but Kakashi's serious face almost made me stop. "I highly doubt it."

He shook his head. "I guess you really don't know him yet. The longer you too keep dancing around each other, the less time you have." He let that hang in the room for a few seconds. "Now, what I really came here for." He crossed his arms and let his head fall back to look up at the ceiling.

I waited.

"Well?"

"Hmm..." He brought his head back to look at me. "I don't know what is in that brief case." I stared at him in disbelief.

"Are you serious?" He gave me a confused look. "That's all?"

He sighed once more, this time more aggravated than the rest. "I don't think you understand, Sasuke. Just because I was his left-hand, I was not his right. He still had a dominance over his life and could do whatever he wanted to and never needing to tell me a thing. That case was kept from me until the very few moments before he left. I have ideas of what's in there but nothing can be for sure. The only person who knows what in there is Naruto."

I chuckled. "I still don't see how this has to do with me."

"The only thing I'm sure of is that he put everything Naruto would ever need in that case. Any information, any questions Naruto could it would have he prepared for it in there."

I looked him blankly, unamused at his defiance to get straight to the point.

"God dammit Sasuke, your uncle killed him!" The realization hit me and I felt the blood leave from me, my heart sinking and my mark pulsating. "You don't think that Minato had no clue that Obito was coming for him, do you? Minato was anything but stupid. He knew it was coming, and he was prepared."

"If he was so god damn prepared then why did he die? Why did he let his wife die first?"

Kakashi suddenly stopped talking. I looked at him, anger flaring in me, but could only meet a straight face.

"Kakashi, answer me."

There was some more silence.

"Kakashi!"

"Obito was not the one who killed Kushina!" My eyes widened.

"What the hell are you talking about? Obito was convinced of two kidnappings and two murders, for both of his parents."

"He was convicted, but did they ever catch him in the act?" I couldn't answer. "Did they ever catch him and put him in prison? Did they ever kill him? The answer is no, because he ran. He is capable of all four of the charges, but he would've killed Kushina and Minato at the same time. He was more of a practical guy, not the type to kill the wife to make the husband suffer. He believed if you were to die you'd die as ethically as possible. Killing two people at once his more ethical and less messy than two at different times. It goes against him."

"Tobi was also a psychopath."

"He wasn't, but if you were to say that you should go more with sociopath."

"Stop fooling around with me!" Anger was rushing through me, my patience so thin you could tear it with a feather.

Kakashi sighed. "He wasn't the one that killed Kushina."

"Then who was?"

"Morning Sasuke," Naruto yawned and walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge to grab some water before turning around and jumping. "Ah! When did Kakashi get here?"

I shook my head. "Idiot."

He looked at me, almost spilling out the water he just sipped.

"What?" I asked.

Kakashi chuckled. "Well, it's better I get going. I just wanted to make sure my little fox was doing alright." He stood and went to scruff Naruto's hair, going over to me and putting his hand out for me to shake. I brought mine up, gripping his thin muscles firmly.

"I don't have all the answers, Sasuke, but the brief case does. Naruto hasn't read into it yet, but I can bet you your entire yearly salary that Obito is in there." He smiled and let me hand go. Turning and heading to the front door. "Oh, and Sasuke?"

I looked at him.

"You might want to watch where you get kissed next time."

My eyes widened and my hand ran to my neck, a bruise definitely hogging space there. I cursed and went to the bathroom, covering it up.

When I got out I noticed we didn't have much time before we had to leave for work, so we both ate some cereal and quickly dressed before heading out.

I parked and took the keys out of the ignition, about to open my door when the blonde grabbed my arm to stop me. My brows raised in question. He seemed to blush before murmuring something under his breath and quickly exiting.

That was weird.

I headed to my office, unlocking it and shutting it behind me when a sharp baritone vibrated throughout the room.

"Nice to see you, otouto." I sighed heavily and continued to go behind my desk, turning my computer on and logging in. "Ignoring me, I see."

"What do you want?" I replied nonchalantly, checking my email and trying to get this over with as soon as possible. He grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up at him and sitting on the edge of my desk.

"I demand respect firstly." He stared me up and down, and I clenched my jaw. His finger ran astray and trailed over my pulse, his nails digging in a little too harshly to be accidental. "And then I demand an explanation to the idiocy in the news."

I scoffed. "What are you talking about?" His nails dug in deeper.

"Don't play dumb with me. Your little 'relationship' is all in the social media."

"And?" He frowned, even more unpleased than he was originally.

"I told you to stop this little charade, Sasuke. You obviously haven't listened." I shrugged my head out of his grip and slid my chair back.

"You don't own me. I am a separate entity than you."

He laughed. "You think this is real, don't you? That this little affair will continue on flawlessly as you plan? I'm sure you must think that you will just be able to use him as he pleases and then once he finds out that you're related to the man that killed his parents you can continue your games." I didn't say anything in response, and he went through the files on my desk. "You're destined for failure, Sasuke. Just like always. You'll never surpass me, and nothing will ever go as planned. Just think about how much he'll hate you after he finds out." He smiled to himself before standing up. "I don't have a lot of time to scrutinize you, so I'll be taking my leave now. Just remember who you are and who I am, who he is, and that I will always get what I want. Always."

He waltzed out of the room, my heart beating properly again.

I stood in the other room, my wrist burning anytime I would begin to get close to the doorway of Minato's office. There was dead silence in the building, unlike previous sounds of papers shuffling and drawers opening.

"You're the last person I would've expected to find here," I didn't jump, but I was a little startled at Kakashi's sudden presence.

"I didn't hear or see you arrive."

"I didn't work here because people could." I chuckled softly.

"Why are you here?" There was silence.

"Minato left me some...instructions a little before he was kidnapped. He rigged the briefcase to alarm me when it was opened, in case it fell into the wrong hands. I don't think he ever predicted this." Kakashi was in a fitted suit, the navy blue working well with his silver head, and was leaning against the window to my left and slightly behind me.

"After all this time?" He raised his brow. I rephrased my question. "After all this time, you've honored his request?" He seemed to stare endlessly out of the window.

"He was my family. I would've jumped in front of a moving train for him."

I sighed.

This was supposed to be easy.
