Louise POV
Why! Why! Why did I do that! Louise pummeled herself for her stupidity, because of her rash action; she now followed Siesta in to this new place instead of going home likes her original plan. Ah stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
"Ah, why did I follow!" Louise hold her head and said, she wasn't angry at her friend but herself. Siesta seems worried that Louise's anger might cause her to pull her hair off, while Yukari seemed amused at this turn of event. The only person more upset at this was Marisa, who is glaring at Yukari, but the sage did not bat an eye.
"Well, since you are here, might as well come with us then." Yukari said with a joyful tone, "But first you should put these on so that Yumemi don't recognize you two." She then tossed two cloak pulled from her gap to Louise and Siesta.
"Wait, Yumemi!" Louise was surprised and terrified at the sudden mention of the dreadful woman who kidnapped them. She did not want to run in to her again, but it seems like that is what they are doing right now. Siesta's face turned white and put on the cloak quickly, Louise followed suit as well. Now she is more frustrated at herself than ever before.
"Where are we?" Louise asked taking a look for the first time at her surrounding, plains extends as far as she can see with some sand mixed in as well, this was certainly not Tristain.
"The parking spot." Yukari said and before any further questions, a huge shadow covered the ground, Louise would never forget this oppressive feeling. She looked up and saw the sight of despair.
"This is your second time seeing it right? Yumemi's vessel." Yukari smiled, now Louise really wishes she could run. With that, the huge vessel picked them up as Louise is brought back to the starting point of it all.
Yumemi POV
"Yukari is here, that completes the guest list." Yumemi, pleased to hear this, gave Chiyuri a thumb up. In front of her sat the figures that funded her experiment, Yukari Yakumo, Xiangdeng Tiandao, Muu Monnyan, and many others. Pride swelled in her chest, as she stood once again presenting to audiences the results of her work, one that may not really care but still audiences none the less. The wind and the sky seem to look particularly beautiful today on the board of the vessal.
How long has it been, since she got kicked out of her world because of the ignorant society that laughed at her results. They called her mad, fearful of the extreme acts she did to create advancement, and jealous of her talent when they had none. But it was precisely because of these morons that she lost the chance to show her world the greatness of her discoveries, now more than ever, she can feel the sweet taste of recognition.
"My dear guests, I thank you for coming to witness this great act of advancement!" She said in a loud dramatic voice, the overwhelming feeling of pride rushed out of her every word.
"Once again allow me to express my gratitude for sponsoring my experiment. I know we are all excited, so without further waiting, let us began the demonstration! Bring in the specimen." As she said that, Chiyuri pushed in the cart holding the weakened spirit of the lake, it was still restrained with S.E.S., but it seemed much weaker, almost diseased, if such a being could.
"What you see before you is a being of quite an unusual source, my friend and I caught this intriguing specimen in a local lake, it was quite a difficult catch if I do say so myself." A mild chuckle came from the group, it seem her audience liked the joke.
"Now I know what you are all thinking about, 'what is the point in showing us such a being?' But let me assure you, it is of the most extraordinary implication! As you all know, when power and myth came together, it became like a vortex, growing greater and gaining a sense of self and personality, ultimately gaining existence. I'm sure most of our guest today came into existence this way. But this being! This being! This being here is a stable existence without a 'self'!" She can see that her audience is much more intrigued and some are talking amongst themselves, the existence of this being could be the key to understanding something or perhaps someone who is vital to their world.
"It is my belief that by understanding how this work, we would be able to grasp an understanding of the 'Dragon god'!" This was a heavy bombshell as she can see some of the guests laughing while few (from the celestial bureaucy) are muttering angrily.
"Blasphemy! You dare compare this insignificant existence to the 'Dragon god'! Such an act is sinful to the greatest degree!"
"Now, now, quiet down, I never said such a thing. I merely said it would help us gain an understanding of the great 'Dragon God', gave us perhaps a fragment of what the great one is thinking." She can see that none of the guests were convinced, or think it would work, the Dragon god was the ultimate supreme existence of their world, not even the youkai sages or eldest gods or the most advanced human could understand what it is. Even the name Dragon god was merely because it was the best description, but it was neither a dragon nor a god. To understand such a being by studying this spirit, most would call her mad or retarded, but Yumemi had already experienced such insults before and look where she is now. Nothing is guaranteed, she felt these ancient existences in their great power had forgotten this or maybe they just never believed it.
Oh well, all the sweeter for her, when she rubs her result in their face.
"If you are done with exposition about this insane plan, can we move to the main event, we didn't fund you to listen to you talk." Tiandao said in an androgynous voice. How rude, Yumemi wanted to say, but she can see her guests are indeed all bored of her glorious ideas, any longer and they might start a danmaku battle right here. Truly these guys have no appreciation for advancement and flash of genius.
"Fine, very well then, I can see that we have quite a fickle crowd. Chiyuri, turn off the optical illusion!" Yumemi shouted, and with that the full view of the machine came into view of the world for the first time.
Louise POV
Like a monstrous tree it stood on the land below them, taller than any building she had ever seen, it was tall as a mountain and wide as a city. Metal gleamed under the sun, making it all the more ominous. Louise didn't know whether to be shocked by how such a thing was built or how it is hidden from sight through some sort of magic.
"The great magic extractor, extractor-kun! It is made to extract the rich magic minerals below this landmass and pump it into the air to terra-form this world to be closer to places such as Gensokyo, Mugenri, Makai, etc. With the right catalyst these spirits can be mass-produced and observations could be made." Yumemi continued to blabber away her plan, like a cliché villain in a children's story that Louise heard when she is young. Only thing is, this plan is utterly terrifying, Louise may have only spend a short amount of time in Gensokyo and didn't see a lot, but what she saw was more than enough to convince her that whatever happens she would not want her home to turn into it. But worse she could not do anything to stop this.
Suddenly Marisa tapped her and Siesta's shoulder; she turned to look at Marisa, she can see Siesta's face was white as well from what she heard. The Magician whispered to the duo in a low voice to avoid detection.
"Listen you two, I'll create a distraction, and at that moment go through the gap Yukari creates. You need to warn your people about this, it would be catastrophic for them if they didn't know this is happening." Marisa said, but before Louise could object on they don't know how to deal with this or ask what distraction, Marisa already ran out.
"Stop Yumemi! This is far enough! I'm putting a stop to this stupid scheme and you're coming back to Gensokyo with me!" The black-white magician pronounced loudly as she confronted the scientist. A face of puzzlement and surprise ran through Yumemi's face as though she is wondering whether the magician was high.
"Um, sorry Marisa, but you do know that you are interrupting a very important demonstration right? Kind of in the middle of something important right now, you know, mass funding, etc. So….. NOoo!" Yumemi replied and stretched out the no to emphasize her point. Marisa signed as though she knew this was coming.
"Figured you say that, but the choice isn't yours."
"I'm not fighting a danmaku battle against you one-on-one, if that's what you are thinking."
"No, you have to! Seija NOW!" Marisa shouted as she tossed the bag she was carrying up to the sky, and as the bag opened several people jumped out of it, one of the figures made a gesture and instantly Louise suddenly felt a floating sensation as Yumemi's ship began to fall to the ground.
"Hahaha, you own me one Marisa!" the white-black-red haired girl who made the ship began to fall laughed. The other people began engaging in danmaku battle with all of the guests and Yumemi's robots, seeing the chaos, Louise and Siesta know it was time to get out of here and flew towards Yukari.
"Goddammit, now I have to fix my ship again, screw you Marisa, you're a dick. I hope you are ready for the beat-down." Yumemi began badmouthing as she prepared her gadgets; Marisa smiled, since bad mouthing meant only one thing.
When Louise and Siesta got to Yukari (who was in a three-way danmaku battle between Tiandao and Tenshi) she paid them no attention and opened a gap instantly. The last sight Louise and Siesta saw before leaping through the gap was a titanic explosion as the ship collided with the ground below. With that she and Siesta got back to the forest near her house, panting heavily as they just escaped the massive brawl behind them.
"My god, I can't believe that." Siesta said in a rasped breath, the giant machine, the massive brawl, all of this happening in their world. It was as if they never escaped Gensokyo in the first place.
"Come on, we got to tell my mother and the Queen about this, they have no idea what's coming." Louise shouted, as soon as she got a control of her breathing, the two girl ran towards the mansion as fast as they can, they just hope they are in time.
Otohime POV
"Owww, I missed the party." Otohime said as she looked at the wasteland around her that used to be Yumemi's ship, the participants of the brawl are all laying around on the ground, most are out of breath from the exercise. The first collision had knocked a massive crater into the ground, but after the massive brawl, the crater got refilled and replaced with a bunch of smaller craters.
"Oh zip it, you ass, none of this would have happened if you didn't decided to help Yumemi with her vacation plan." Marisa said as she lay battered on the ground out of breath, she did everything she could, but she still lost to Yumemi by a hit. That means Yumemi gets to do what she want, from Marisa's face it was obvious that she was not amused at all.
"Goddammit Marisa… now I have to build my ship all over again… why the hell would you have Seija reverse… the floatation device!" Yumemi said as she sat on a metal scrap, out of breath, being equally battered as Marisa.
"Not my idea, ask her yourself, and it wasn't even the collision that broke it. It was mostly Tenshi and Yukari's fault that the engine blown up."
"Hey, you told me that I can have fun going all out!" a blue haired girl with charred peach hat shouted over the smoke.
"I don't care whose fault it is, you're paying for half of the repair cost, Marisa!" Yumemi said as she walked off to pull Chiyuri out of whichever crater she landed on. Seeing that Yumemi walked off, Marisa sat up and stared at the giant drill that wasn't affected at all by the explosions around it.
"Well I guess this world is on its own now, I wonder how big of an incident it would be." Otohime quickly shut up after seeing the look the magician is giving her. She could not deny that she was very happy that Yumemi won, it would be much more interesting this way, collateral damage was not one of her concerns, only amusement is.
"No, they aren't, there is still other ways to help them." Marisa said as she stood up and patted the dirt off her skirt. Hearing this Otohime felt even more intrigued, after all the deal in the fight was that if Marisa lose she would not stand against Yumemi's plan this time. It appears the Magician is going to abuse the loophole as soon as she loses.
"So you're getting back up?" Otohime asked curious of the Magicians next step.
"No, they are getting back up." Marisa said as she walked off towards the smoldering craters to find Yukari.
