Overall, Caverna had done well as acting chieftain, so much that even Mildew and Gothi were surprised. She was severe at times, but that was expected, no one listened to a girl of eighteen when she was trying to run a village, unless you were a girl of eighteen who had a Night Fury at her side almost twenty-four seven. The wedding preparations had gone swimmingly, with everything being finished ahead of schedule, so now all they had to do was decorate and set out the feast. By the time the week was up, the guests from foreign tribes were arriving, all eager to pitch in and help as well as to meet the 'daughter of Stoick the Vast' or as some people pointed out, 'the Leather Viking'. At this moment, Caverna was in the Great Hall talking to leaders of other tribes, about herself, since everyone was rather curious about her, though it all stopped as the doors suddenly swung open and in the doorway stood a man that Caverna knew all too well – Dagur the Deranged.

"Ah, Caverna you look more beautiful each time I see you." He exclaimed walking over to her, sickeningly large smile plastered on his face.

"Your flattery gets you very little, Dagur." Caverna told him as she slid off of Snowcap's back, since that was where she had been sitting whilst she spoke to the other tribe leaders. The minute that she was on her feet, Dagur grabbed her hand and kissed it, which was enough for Caverna to pull her hand away in quick succession.

"I am glad that you could all make it to my brother's wedding, I am sure that he will also be glad of it."

"It is a pleasure to be here to celebrate it, marriage is a big step for anybody." A woman told her. She was the typical Viking woman, but her breasts were large, which Caverna thought apt since she was known as: 'Big Boobied Bertha.'

Just as Caverna was about to talk again, the door suddenly flung open and Caverna groaned.

"Will whoever it is stop doing that, you're letting the heat o- Oh hey Astrid." Caverna smiled at seeing her friend.

"Caverna, they're back!" Astrid suddenly shouted, after she caught her breath.

"Who?" Caverna asked her.

"Stoick, Hiccup and everyone." Astrid laughed. "Come on!"

Caverna's face broke into a large smile before she looked back at the other tribe leaders. "Um, if you could excuse me, Chief Stoick should be up here shortly, but I've really got to go." As she spoke, she jumped onto Snowcap's back, and after wrapping the reigns around her wrists she gave her dragon a tug and the dragon suddenly shot out of the Great Hall though Caverna managed to reach down and drag Astrid up behind her on the saddle as they went past her. Astrid let out a laugh as she gripped onto Caverna's body, not wanting to fall off, but glad that she was getting a lift instead of running back to the Village Square. When they got there, the men were already there, greeting their loved ones happily with the dragons greeting everyone. Suddenly there was a shout as Tuffnut was thrown from his saddle by Lightning who at seeing Stormfly running towards him, bounded over to her and the two started to nuzzle each other in greeting. Meanwhile, Hiccup, Toothless and Stoick were looking around for three specific individuals. Yet, it didn't take long until Astrid could be heard as Caverna landed Snowcap and both she and Astrid dismounted.

"Hiccup!" Astrid shouted, running over and straight into his arms which were already open and waiting for her.

"Dad!" Caverna ran to her father, and she was suddenly pulled into a tight hug by him, before she started to tell him everything, well minus the fact that Astrid was pregnant.

When she got to the part about the other leaders, Stoick nodded and let her go and greet everyone else, and she soon set about looking for Fishlegs.

Meanwhile, while her rider was looking for her mate, Snowcap was looking or her own, she eventually found him having a conversation with Meatlug and Hookfang.

"Toothless..." Meatlug started and when the Night Fury looked at her, she nodded over to where Snowcap had sat down, to watch them.

At seeing his mate, Toothless seemed to freeze, as mushy as it sounds, he had never gotten over how beautiful he found her and it had always caused him to freeze.

"Toothless." She smiled her usual gummy smile at him and hid a laugh as Hookfang pushed the older Night Fury over to her. When he was within touching distance, Toothless unfroze and he nuzzled his mate, occasionally giving her the most playful of nips, to which she returned. Letting them have their moment, the other two dragons left them to it, going to find their owners, which wasn't a hard task. Hookfang found Snotlout telling a group of girls a made up story about what actually happened, so the dragon just settled down behind him and closed his eyes, waiting for either his rider to stop talking or for sleep to take him, though he preferred the second option better.

Meanwhile, Meatlug found her rider in even less time, he had been stopped in one place by his mate and they were hugging each other, with his mate and his mother telling him about how much Caverna had improved in her cooking skills, whatever cooking was, Meatlug had no idea, she just knew that it meant using fish.

"You'll have to taste her cooking Fishlegs; her fish stew tastes a lot better than it sounds."

Fishlegs looked at her mother then at his girlfriend. "How did you even do that?"

"I couldn't find any meat, but I found loads of fish...So...I made dinner." She mumbled. "It tasted good apparently, so I think it meant that it was a success." She shrugged.

"One day I'll taste it." He laughed. "Let's go to the Great Hall and eat." Fishlegs told her, and with a shrug Caverna left with him and his parents, just as she saw Hiccup and Astrid doing the same thing.

"Oh, you guys go on ahead, I'll meet you there, I just need to talk to Hiccup." She told them.

"Alright dear, we shall see you up there." Mrs Ingerman told her, getting her son to follow her as Caverna ran over to her brother and Astrid.

"Hiccup, Astrid, hold up!" Caverna shouted and she eventually caught up with them.

"Hey sis." Hiccup greeted, pulling her into a hug.

"Hey Hiccup, soon to be daddy Hiccup." Caverna told him when she was out of the hug.

"You know?" He looked over at Astrid.

"Yes, she knows, she knew before I did."

"What do you mean?"

"I heard her throwing up every morning she stayed over, it's not hard to put two together and come up with four you know." Caverna shrugged. "I'm really happy for the pair of you."

Hiccup smiled and hugged his sister again, now he just had to tell his father...That was going to b a challenge.

As the three teens reached the steps of the Great Hall, they found Stoick stood outside waiting for them.

"Dad, we need to talk to you." Caverna told him as they all ran up the many steps to stop him from going inside.

"What is it you three?" Stoick asked, looking at them curiously though he couldn't help but smile as the girls helped Hiccup up the last few stairs.

Caverna looked at her brother and Astrid but both of them were quiet so she decided to take the lead on this one.

"Dad, Hiccup and Astrid have been blessed." Caverna told him and as slow realisation came to his eyes, she decided to hurry up. "The gods have allowed for Astrid and Hiccup to give you a grandchild."

Stoick seemed shocked for a few minutes before he looked at Astrid who now was almost hiding behind Hiccup who was almost hiding behind his sister, before he started to smile and then he laughed.

"Wonderful...But now this causes a problem." Stoick told them. "You two aren't married yet, that child is illegitimate."

"Which is why we asked Caverna about how things had gone since we've been away." Hiccup told him in a rush. "She said that everything was finished a day or two ago, so we could get married tomorrow..."

"If you'd allow us Sir." Astrid finished.

Stoick looked at Caverna. "Is it true, is everything finished?"

Caverna nodded. "Yes, Astrid's dress has even been finished." She shrugged. "All we needed was the husband-to-be."

At hearing this, Stoick smiled widely before he walked into the Great Hall, his voice louder than everything else.

"Everyone, I would like to announce, tomorrow we will be celebrating the marriage of my son Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third and his love Astrid Hofferson. So for tonight, bring out the mead, it's time for a celebration!" He shouted, and at the mentioning of the mead, everyone cheered.

Whilst Stoick went to join Gobber and his brother at a table, Caverna walked over to her friends with Astrid and Hiccup and she sat down next to Fishlegs. "Well, that went well."

"What went well?" Snotlout asked, looking at his cousins and Astrid as they started eating.

"Hiccup and Astrid wanted to get married as soon as possible, they were worried that dad would be made because it's not customary with the four day feast, but he was happy enough." Caverna shrugged.

"Have you ever even been to a wedding, Caverna?" Tuffnut asked, he sounded sceptical.

"No Tuff, I haven't."

"Not even when you were living on your old island?" Fishlegs asked curiously.

"Nope, not even then." She shrugged. "I don't see the problem, so why are you all looking at me like there is one?"

"Well, you're the chief's daughter, you have a rather large role in the wedding too." Hiccup told her.

"So, I'm sure it will be fine." Caverna shrugged, going back to her food, before finished her dinner, kissed Fishleg's cheek and headed out to check on Snowcap and Toothless back home.

When she was gone, Snotlout looked at Fishlegs as he too finished eating.

"So, you and my cousin, huh?"

"Yes..." Fishlegs answered almost immediately, slightly worried about where this conversation was going to be heading.

"Have you two fucked yet?" This time it was Tuffnut's turn to ask him a question, which had both Hiccup and Snotlout choking on their drinks.

"What the hell, Tuff?" Hiccup choked out.

"Oh come on, it's not like you and Astrid haven't done it." He told them indignantly.

"That's none of your business and I really don't want to hear about my own little sister's sex life, thank you very much." Hiccup told him before he looked over at Fishlegs in surprise when he spoke.

"Actually, there isn't one." Fishlegs told him. "A sex life I mean."

Everyone looked at him in both curiosity and confusion, though none of them wanted to downright ask about it, they all wanted to know and Fishlegs knew that.

"I mean, we've kissed and stuff, and I mean properly kissed, but she's too scared to go further." Fishlegs told them.

"What's there to be scared of?" Snotlout snorted. "She can't get pregnant, or anything likes that."

"She's scared because that's what caused her to be unable to get pregnant in the first place." Hiccup told him with a roll of his eyes.

"So nothing has happened because I don't want her to feel as if she has to, you know, have sex with me, I want it to be something that she wants too." Fishlegs shrugged, his cheeks heating up a considerable amount.

"And I appreciate that 'Legs, I appreciate that you care about her feelings just as much as your own." Hiccup told him with a smile, before he quickly changed the subject to what had been happening on Berk whilst they were away and he noticed that Fishlegs had left the table.

When she got to the stables, she found all of the dragons curled up with their respective mates and she smiled, before she felt something nudge her in the back and she turned to find Meatlug standing behind her, wagging her tail happily, like an oversized scaly dog.

"Hey Meatlug, what's the matter?" Caverna asked, stroking the dragon's large head.

Meatlug just nudged her again, away from the stables and into the arms of Fishlegs who had managed to stand behind her when she was distracted by Meatlug. However, it still made Caverna jump.

"Odin's beard Fishlegs, don't do that." She gasped out, resting her head on his chest as she waited for her heart rate to slow down.

"Sorry." He told her, blushing as he slid his arms around her. "But I just wanted to ask you something."

"Oh...What is it?"

"Why are you so sure that you can't ever get married?" Fishlegs asked.

Caverna sighed, turning to look at him. "Because I can't provide a family, a girl who can't do that can't ever be seen as a proper wife." She shrugged. "And anyway, I resigned myself to being a simple warrior woman a long time ago. I never actually thought that I'd have something like this." She gestured between the pair of them. "So, I'm happy with what I've got."

Fishlegs thought about that for a moment before he kissed her lips gently. "I'll see you tomorrow, Caverna." He told her, before he left as quickly as Meatlug could fly, leaving his girlfriend stood there, in silent confusion.

In the end, she thought nothing of it, and Caverna went inside the Haddock house to relax, she never normally got much sleep, so she decided to sit by the fireplace and pull a chest out from under a cloth covered table. Astrid had given her an important task to do, and that was to make her wedding dress, and to stroke her ego she looked at it the newly finished dress again. It was the exact way that Astrid had wanted it, since she only wanted Caverna and Ruffnut to be there, in order to help her get ready. Astrid's reasons for having Caverna make her wedding dress were simple, one reason being that because she wasn't speaking to her mother, and due to the mother of the bride usually being the one to make the dress, she wanted her mother to have no involvement in the wedding preparations, except for the things that Caverna thought necessary. And secondly, because Caverna was excellent at sewing, she could make clothes out of possibly anything. However, as Caverna looked at the dress in her hands she felt a pang of emotion, and this time she didn't know what it was. Was it envy or jealousy over her soon to be sister? After all, Astrid was now pregnant, something that Caverna would never go through, and she was also getting married in the morning, and judging from how Fishlegs reacted, that wasn't going to happen to the young Viking anymore either. Caverna simply sat there, staring at the fire and holding the dress in her hands, but as she heard the door open she quickly shoved the dress back into the box and hid it, before standing up to greet the person who had entered the house – Astrid.

"Hey, there you are." Astrid smiled. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing, just sort of pensive I guess." Caverna shrugged. "How about you, are you okay?"

Astrid looked at her curiously, but she decided to let it slide and she shrugged. "I feel fine, just excited."

"Good...Well, we had best get some sleep, you don't want to resemble the dead on your wedding day." Caverna told her.

"Yeah, you're right...Will Stoick be staying here tonight as well?"

"Yeah, but in the morning he'll be going over to Snotlout's to check on Hiccup and the Great Hall to prepare everything." Caverna told her. "Don't worry, tomorrow morning it will be just you, Ruffnut and I."

Astrid nodded. "Good." She got herself some water before she walked to the stairs. "Good night Caverna."

"Good night, Astrid." Caverna smiled, watching her best friend head up to bed, then after stealing one more look at where she had hidden the box, Caverna put out the fireplace and then she headed up to bed too.

The next morning, Caverna was up at dawn again, only this time she had a surprise when she opened her door to find Astrid sat on the stairs.

"You're supposed to still be in bed." Caverna told her, moving to sit beside her.

Astrid looked at her, and the blond looked severely exhausted. "I know, but I can't sleep, I'm too excited."

Caverna laughed softly. "Go and get into my bed, get some sleep."

"Why should I get into your bed?"

"Because then my brothers scent can't excite you." Caverna told her as she made her way downstairs.

Astrid thought about this for a few minutes, before she shrugged and went to Caverna's room, looking around at the weapons, the trinkets, such as a silver comb and a few items of jewellery that Astrid had never seen her wear before, and some clothes that were neatly folded in a corner, opposite a rock bed, where Snowcap was sleeping, having come in when Toothless had left to be with Hiccup. The whole room had a relaxing scent wafting around it, which Astrid recognised to be Jasmine, Caverna's favourite scent and as Astrid noted, also a very rare scent. Climbing under the still warm sheets of Caverna's bed, Astrid sighed in comfort and content, before she soon found herself falling asleep. Meanwhile, downstairs, Caverna was putting a pot of water on to boil as she pulled the chest, that she had gotten out last night, out from its hiding place and she set it by the stairs, then set about building the fire and setting it alight.

Caverna spent the whole morning getting things ready for Astrid, which included drawing her a bath of steaming hot water, getting everything ready to start breakfast, feeding the dragons, after Snowcap had lazily made her way downstairs and Stormfly had joined them by the fire, and finally getting everything ready to help Astrid get ready. Eventually, Caverna saw that it was time to wake the bride and she headed upstairs to her room to find Astrid curled up in her bed fast asleep.

"Astrid, it's time to wake up Astrid." Caverna whispered, shaking her shoulder, which slowly woke her up.

"Caverna?" Astrid mumbled. "What time is it?"

"It's time to get up, I've drawn you a nice hot bath, so take your time, we still have hours to get you ready, so there's no rush." She nodded to the bathtub that was in the corner.

Astrid smiled. "Thank you." She watched Caverna leave to give her some privacy and she stripped off, and slid into the tub.

Whilst Astrid bathed, Caverna was sitting by the fire, brushing Snowcap's scales with a brush to take away the dead scales, just as there was a knock on the door and Snowcap growled.

"Easy girl." Caverna laughed and she looked at the door. "Come in." She shouted through before she looked at her dragon. "Left foot." At her command, Snowcap put her front left foot in Caverna's hand and put her head on her other one as Caverna brushed her foot. She didn't need to look away from her brushing as she knew it had been Ruffnut who was at the door.

"I'm not called Left Foot." Ruffnut told her, moving to sit beside her.

"Because, that bit wasn't too you." Caverna told her, laughing softly, before she got started on Snowcap's front right foot.

Just as Caverna had finished, brushing down her whole dragon, Astrid came downstairs, wearing her usual clothing, minus her headband and boots and her hair was wet and fell down her back.

"Right, are you ready to start your hair Astrid?" Ruffnut asked as Caverna sat in Stoick's armchair watching and Ruffnut pulled out a chair from the table.

"Yeah, I'm ready." Astrid told them as she sat in the chair that Ruffnut had pulled out for her and she relaxed as Ruffnut started to dry and comb through her hair.

After a few minutes of the only sound being Snowcap and Stormfly as she lounged on the floor by the fire, Astrid finally spoke.

"Caverna, did you manage to finish my dress?" She asked her now soon-to-be sister in law.

Caverna looked up from where she was cleaning one of her swords and she nodded. "I did."

"Can I see it?" Astrid asked.

"Not yet, it's going upstairs shortly though." Caverna told her.

Astrid frowned, but she knew that Caverna was only trying to be nice and surprise her, so she didn't press the subject anymore. However, as Astrid pondered what her dress looked like, Ruffnut had finished with her hair. As Caverna held up the mirror, Astrid gasped, her air had one braid going over the top of her head, and it went over to her left shoulder, where it joined another, much thicker braid and her smaller braid was interlaced with that one as it hung over her left shoulder. Ruffnut had also managed to keep Astrid's fringe hanging over her left eye like it normally did.

"Oh Ruff, it looks and feels amazing, thank you" Astrid smiled, standing and turning to hug her other best friend, before both girls looked over at Caverna who was now standing next to a wooden chest.

"Are you ready to get dressed?" Caverna asked her, nodding to the chest beside her, and at Astrid's excited nod, she picked p the chest and looked at the two dragons. "We will be down shortly." She then took Astrid and Ruffnut upstairs to her room.

When the three reached Caverna's room, Ruffnut lounged on the bed, Astrid stood by Caverna's desk and Caverna herself, sat on the window ledge still holding the chest.

"Okay Astrid, get undressed." Caverna told her.

"Okay..." Astrid told her as she started to pull off her usual blue sweater and her studded skirt and leggings.

When she was down to her undergarments, Caverna stood up and put the chest on the windowsill, before she opened it and she pulled the dress out, letting it fall into place, before she turned around, holding it out and she heard both Astrid and Ruffnut gasp.

"Caverna...It's...It's beautiful." Astrid whispered and she sounded close to tears.

The dress itself was the purest white that both Astrid and Ruffnut had ever seen, and it had crystal coloured beads decorating the hems of the neckline, the wrists and the base. Caverna carefully helped Astrid to put the dress on, before she used a long white ribbon to tie the back of the dress closed. Looking in the mirror, Astrid nearly started to cry, she looked beautiful and she looked at the reflection of Caverna who stood next to her and she smiled.

"Soon, I'll be a Haddock." She told her, causing Caverna to look at her.

"I know, and no matter what, you deserve this Astrid." Caverna smiled at her.

"Alright girls, let's run through the checklist." Ruffnut told them. "Have we got something borrowed?"

"Yes, I borrowed your shoes, Ruff." Astrid told her.

"Have we got something new?"

"Yes, Caverna made me a new dress."

"Have we got something old?"

"Yes, my grandmother's necklace." Astrid smiled, watching Caverna pick up a simple necklace from her desk which held a Celtic knot on it and she smiled as Caverna put it around her neck and fastened it.

"Have we got something blue?"

Astrid thought for a moment before she started to panic. "Oh no, I've forgotten it."

"Relax Astrid." Caverna told her, before she walked to her window, climbing out and she came back in after a few seconds holding a dark blue flower, which she placed behind Astrid's right ear. "There, something blue."

"Alright, you're ready." Ruffnut declared an the girls all left the room, and eventually, after an inspection from the dragons, they left the house.

Meanwhile, as the Jorgenson residence, Hiccup was cleaning his flight suit up as Snotlout, Tuffnut and Fishlegs all lounged around.

"Are you excited, cuz?" Snotlout asked, suddenly throwing an arm around Hiccup's shoulders.

"Yeah...I am." Hiccup told him with a smile.

"You know Hiccup, you're pretty lucky...Your wife and your sister are the two hottest girls left on Berk." Tuffnut told him.

Hiccup looked at him and he raised an eyebrow. "I wouldn't say that my sister was hot."

"Of course you wouldn't, because you're her big brother, duh!" Tuffnut rolled his eyes.

"He actually has a point." Snotlout told his cousin before he looked at Fishlegs. "There isn't any point in asking your verdict, because you're her boyfriend."

"Include him too guys." Hiccup told them, but just as he was about to say something else, there was a knock on the door and Spitlout, Snotlout's father and Hiccup's uncle, walked in.

"Stoick's here to talk to his lad, which means that the rest of you need to leave and wait out here with me and Gobber." He told them, and he watched his son and his friend's leave the room and Stoick walk in, before he closed the door.

"Hiccup..." Stoick started as Hiccup turned to look at him, now wearing his full flight suit, which was fully clean.

"Yes dad?" Hiccup asked, looking at him.

"I just wanted to come and see how you were feeling."

"I'm feeling fine." Hiccup shrugged. "I'm actually feeling really excited about this."

Stoick smiled, feeling a sense of pride as he looked at his oldest child. "Your mother would be proud of you."

Hiccup smiled, looking up at him. "Um...dad...speaking of mothers...um...there's something that you should know."

"I already know..." At seeing the slight look of alarm on Hiccup's face, he decided to see if what he knew was what his son wanted to tell him. "I know that Astrid's mother won't be at the ceremony."

"Oh good, I thought you'd be mad for a second because I know that it's tradition and everything..."

"Hiccup, you and Astrid aren't your traditional couple." Stoick reminded him.

"That's true." Hiccup laughed.

After a bit more laughter, Stoick gave his son his blessing, before he left him to finish getting ready for his wedding, though he did remind him to get there on time this time.

When they had left the Haddock house, it didn't take long for the girls to get Astrid up to the Great Hall, and Snowcap was the only dragon to stay close to them, but even she left her rider's side to go up the steps after a quickly retreating Toothless, who had been keeping watch for Hiccup. Ruffnut ended up walking on ahead of Caverna and Astrid when Astrid stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked at Caverna pulling her to a stop as well.

"What's up?" Caverna asked her.

Astrid didn't speak straight away, instead she simply hugged Caverna tightly, causing Caverna to hug her back as Astrid whispered to her. "Thank you."

"What are you thanking me for?" Caverna asked her when their hug had ended.

"Just for being there through what happened with Eridor and for trusting me with information about what happened to you." Astrid told her, seeing the hint of pain that hit Caverna as Astrid, regrettably, brought up her incident.

"Then you're welcome, now come on, today is about you and my brother, so let's go and make you a Haddock." She smiled before she helped Astrid to get up the many steps in her dress to where her father stood waiting. As she left Astrid with her father, Caverna walked into the hall to where people from the town had stood on two separate sides to create an aisle leading to where both Stoick and Hiccup stood and Caverna walked down this aisle.

"Is she ready?" Stoick whispered when she got to him.

Caverna simply nodded, and she looked at Hiccup. "Are you ready?" She whispered.

Hiccup nodded just as Stoick gave a signal and music started to play and the doors opened, with Astrid and her father walking down the aisle.

Throughout the ceremony, Caverna kept a constant vigil, the ceremony went flawlessly, with even Hiccup remembering his whole vows, and eventually Stoick pronounced them to be man and wife and as the room applauded, Hiccup and Astrid shared a loving kiss. When it came to the celebratory feast, Caverna was leaning against the wall, hidden mainly by the shadows, and she watched her brother and new sister-in-law receive their wedding gifts and well wishes from their guests before she watched everyone tuck into the feast. However, she didn't move, apart from looking up into the rafters every few minutes to check on Snowcap who was hanging upside down from one of the rafters with Toothless, they looked to be asleep, but Caverna had come to know better. They were observing through sound to see if there was any trouble. However, for now there seemed to be peace, so Caverna tried to relax and enjoy the celebration, she even got herself involved in a few dances with her brother, boyfriend, sister-in-law and even her cousin Snotlout danced with her. However the peace was shattered, as a fierce roar started and the doors were blown open, almost snapping off of their hinges and all of the fires, went out.
