Brandon walked over to where Dylan was standing and clapped a hand on his shoulder. "How are you holding up, Dylan?"
Dylan sighed and ran a hand through his hair and down his face. "I'm nervous as fuck, Brandon. I don't want to mess this up. I don't want to lose Brenda now that I finally got her back. We are finally in the place we should have been years ago and I just don't want it to be late. I have missed so much of Brenda's life and of my daughter's life. How in the fucking hell can I make that up to her? How do I get her through today and all the days following this? I don't know what I would do if I lose her now. I feel like my heart is about to beat out of my damn chest."
Brandon smiled sadly. "I know what you mean there, D. I never thought that something like this could happen to Brenda especially after the scare she had back in high school. I haven't told Brenda yet but I called mom and dad and told them what was going on with Brenda. They will be meeting us at the hospital where Brenda is meeting the specialist. Mom said they have suspected that something was going on with Brenda's health but they never suspected something like this. Dylan, you need to remember that Brenda is strong and she'll get through this. She has already been going through treatment for several months now. We may hear some good news and not just bad news. Brenda needs you and I to be strong for her and so does Deanna. Are you happy that they are moving in with you today?"
Dylan's face broke into a smile as he looked Brandon in the eye. "I couldn't be any more happier than I am right now, Brandon. I never thought that I would be this happy. I never thought that I would get another chance to be with Brenda. I'm going to prove to her that she is my world. I'm going to prove to her that I can be the man her and Deanna both need me to be. I'll eventually get her to agree to be my wife. We should have been married years ago, Brandon, and if I hadn't been a stupid idiot we would have been. I have always loved Brenda and I always will. There isn't anything on this God green Earth that could ever cause me to stop loving her. Did I tell you that I bought a ticket last week to London? I was going to fly out tomorrow to go see Brenda because I was tired of living a life that she wasn't in. If she hadn't shown up here I would have been there this time two days from now. I was tired of just simply existing and not actually living. I was tired of trying to tell myself that Brenda was better off without me."
Brandon shook his head and squeezed Dylan's shoulder. "I always knew that eventually you would man up and head to London to get Brenda back. Kelly and I have actually had long talks about what it was going to take to get your head out of your ass. You were the only one who didn't see that you belonged wherever Brenda was, Dylan. The rest of us knew that you would never be complete and whole unless you had her in your arms and in your life. I was almost to the point where I was going to kick your ass just to make you see what we could all see. Hell Valerie and Kelly actually started to come up with a plan to get you to go to London but it was discarded months ago and now I know why. Valerie knew that Brenda was sick and she didn't want to spring that on you like it would have if they had somehow shipped you off to London. The only thing you can now do, Dylan, is be by Brenda's side through all this. Make sure that she knows that she is no longer going through this alone. You have a daughter who looks like both you and Brenda and she loves you dearly already. Make sure every day that you let Deanna know how much she means to you. If you want to make up for missing out on your daughter's life then start by making sure that she knows she is your life just as much as her mother is."
Dylan smirked. "I will make sure that Brenda and Deanna both know that they are my life because that is exactly what they are, Brandon. Who knows maybe sometime in the future Brenda and I will have another child and I'll actually get to see her pregnant with my baby. My God she must have been beautiful when she was swollen carrying my daughter. I wonder if she has any pictures."
Brandon rolled his eyes and laughed. "I'm pretty sure that she does. Seeming as Val knew about Deanna my guess is that she was there some during the pregnancy so we could always ask Valerie if she has any pictures of Brenda pregnant. I wouldn't mind seeing how my sister looked when she was pregnant. I have been trying to picture that in my head but I just cannot seem to get the picture right."
Dylan laughed. "I think that I will ask Valerie. I guess I should see if Brenda is ready because if we are going to make the appointment on time then we need to get going soon."
Brandon smirked and then called out "Brenda, are you ready to go yet? If we're going to make your appointment on time then we need to leave within the next five minutes. I'm sure that once we get back you can finish making sure that you have everything that you want to take over to your new home."
Brenda rolled her eyes as she finally made her way down the stairs slowly. "I'm ready to go now. I would have been down sooner but I had to go to the bathroom again. Dylan, I swear to you if you make a comment about that, that you will be spending the night on the couch for my first night in our home."
Dylan raised an eyebrow and smirked as he wrapped an arm around Brenda's waist. "I'm not saying a thing, baby. Now we should get going so that we're not late. Who is riding with who?"
Brenda smiled slightly as she leaned into Dylan's side. "Deanna is riding with Val, Brandon, and Kelly. Donna, David, Steve, and Janet are all riding together in Steve's car. I guess that means you and I are in your car all by ourselves."
Brandon chuckled. "We worked it that way on purpose, Brenda. After all that car is as much yours as it is Dylan's. I mean how many times did one of us catch you two going at it in that car?"
Brenda blushed even as she said "Brandon! Don't talk about things like that in front of my daughter."
Deanna huffed and rolled her eyes. "Mom, it isn't like I don't know that you and dad have had sex. Hell the whole house heard you two going at it last night. But seriously I knew about you and dad going at it in his car for years now since aunt Val told me about the stories she heard from uncle Brandon and aunt Kelly."
Brenda's eyes widened even as she blushed even harder. She ignored the laughing she heard. "Let's just go because if we don't I'm going to be late."
Everyone laughed at the look on Brenda's face but followed her and Dylan out of the house and into the cars they would be driving or riding in. Within three minutes they were on the road and fifteen minutes later they were pulling into the hospital parking lot and parking. Everyone was quiet as they followed Brenda who had a death grip on Dylan's hand into the hospital and up to the floor where he Specialist was located at.
