"Do you think she'll be alright?" Snotlout suddenly asked as they watched Caverna fly off from the beach.

"Yes." Hiccup told he and he sounded so positive of his sister and her dragon that Snotlout didn't dare ask anymore. "Now come, guys, this way." Hiccup led them, along with the help of his mother, through the tunnels that were still open until they reached the clearing where their Alpha once lived.

"Woah..."Astrid whispered looking around. "And you kept all of these dragons here?"

"Yes, the Alpha created this place with his icy breathes and we lived here in peace...Until today..." Valka told him.

"Hiccup, what are you doing lad?" Gobber asked as he watched the young man wrangle some baby Deadly Nadders.

"These little guys are how we are getting home." Hiccup told him as she managed to get one baby to stay still, with the help of Astrid, and he helped his wife onto the dragon's back, before he done the same with everyone else and then caught his own.

When everyone was ready, they got their dragons to fly into the air and they all headed out of the caverns of ice.

"How come these guys weren't taken by the alpha?" Astrid shouted over to Hiccup as she tried to keep her baby Nadder under control so that it was at least fly in the right direction.

"They're babies, they don't listen to anyone." Hiccup shouted back to her as he tried to rectify the same issue of keeping his dragon on the right path.

"Well this is extremely dangerous and careless!" Gobber shouted, as he flew off them, but he kept hitting every piece of ice that was around.

"But it's our only option." Hiccup shouted back as they kept up their movements, trying to find their way home.

Meanwhile, Caverna and Snowcap were nearly back on Berk, and they were moving faster than the speed of sound through the dark, almost fully eclipsed by it, then suddenly Caverna had an idea.

"Come on, Snowcap, to Sapphire's Island, she could possibly help us." Caverna told her.

Snowcap gave her a sound of agreement and she veered off course towards the island, and when they reached it, Snowcap hovered in the air as Caverna whistled. They waited for a few minutes and then there was a roar as Sapphire suddenly flew up to join them.

"Sapphire, we need your help."

The large dragon pushed her head into the hand that Caverna stretched out to her and Caverna smiled, before rider and dragons flew back towards the Island of Berk. Upon reaching the island, Caverna kept an eye on both of the dragons that were with her and neither of them was affected by the alpha, but she noticed that now even lightning had joined the mass of dragons that swirled around the alpha.

"Snowcap, we need to get Lightning away from him."

However, before Caverna could do anything, someone from the village spotted her and their cry of joy alerted Drago who looked over at her with an evil grin.

"Alpha, finish her!" He ordered and suddenly there was a swarm of dragons flying towards Caverna and Snowcap.

"Snowcap, Sapphire, time to disappear." Caverna told them and she watched Sapphire fly off before Snowcap fly at the dragons, before suddenly taking a turn away from them. Yet as they were flying towards the ground, Snowcap suddenly threw Caverna off making sure that she was safe on the ground as she was suddenly tackled by another much bigger dragon.

Caverna picked herself up off of the ground as she watched her dragon, and then she watched Sapphire fly over to protect her battle sister and the sight brought a small smile to Caverna's lips.

"That's my-"As she was distracted with her dragons, she was suddenly thrown to the ground by another dragon, before she lifted her head and found that she was surrounded by dragons, all of them going to fire at her.

"No!"

That was all she heard, before she saw her uncle, Spitlout, and Astrid's parents, along with some other villagers tackle the possessed dragons, letting Caverna have a clear run to where her swords ended up and she used the rocks that surrounded the area she was in and the ice that covered most of the floor to get onto the Bewilderbeast that held Drago and she drew her swords, running at him. Nothing was going through the young warriors head at that moment, except to avenge her father and to get her dragon back, so letting out a battle cry, she struck at Drago, only to have him block it with her staff and from then on, she rained attacks down on him like a woman possessed. Yet Drago matched each one of her attacks ad he soon gave her a swift hit to the side of her head which sent her down, and Drago simply pushed her off of the Bewilderbeast and onto the floor, luckily she wasn't too high up for it to do permanent damage, but it didn't half hurt. Caverna groaned as she stood up and she suddenly smiled in relief at seeing her brother and her friends arriving.

Drago looked at where she was looking before he looked at the Bewilderbeast. "Finish her!"

At his command, the Bewilderbeast suddenly lifted its head up to the ledge that Caverna was on before he suddenly shot a mouthful of ice at her.

"NO!" Valka and Hiccup's combined cry echoed through the air as Caverna braced herself for the chill of death, yet it never came and she soon saw why.

Opening her eyes, she saw Sapphire had landed in front of her and she was shooting fire at the Bewilderbeast, holding back his ice, yet whilst she was relieved at her rescue she soon felt distraught. Sapphire couldn't move now or she would be frozen to death, and she knew that she couldn't keep up her fire forever; she still had some form of shot limit, even if it was high. But that didn't stop Caverna from trying to get her dragon to leave.

"What are you doing, Sapphire get out of here!" She shouted at her dragon. "You'll freeze to death!"

Sapphire ignored her, looking towards Snowcap who looked rather beat up, but still able to maintain her flight and she managed to speak to her. "Get her out of here, keep her safe, and keep yourself safe."

Snowcap looked at the big dragon that was fighting off the slightly bigger Bewilderbeast in order to allow her rider to leave with her life and she nodded. "I will, thank you my friend." She suddenly swooped down and picked up her rider, throwing her onto her back as she got her out of the way. Snowcap eventually stopped when she was the same height up as Hiccup and said dragon flew to his sister, reaching over to take her hand and automatically she pulled him onto Snowcap's back with her and he slid his arms around her from behind as they watched. Eventually, Sapphire ran out of fire power, but the Bewilderbeast didn't, and he fired with direct aim and it sent sharp shards of ice into Caverna's dragon, one piercing her heart. Hiccup tried to get his sister not to watch, but she was frozen as she watched the light leave her dragon's eyes, yet she only snapped out of it as she heard Snowcap's mournful cry and she patted her dragon's head. "Let's save our friends."

Hiccup looked at her and he nodded, holding tight as Snowcap flew straight for Drago who had now mounted Toothless' back, seeming pleased that the biggest dragon was dead.

"You certainly are hard to get rid of." Drago told them as Caverna had Snowcap hover in front of him and Hiccup noticed his sister's dragon had closed her eyes and pressed her ear flaps right down.

"Toothless..." Hiccup sighed. "Hey, it's me bud, it's me, it's me. I'm right here bud, come back to me." Hiccup told him, his voice soft as he reached out to Toothless, though this just made Drago laugh.

"He's not yours, he belongs to the Alpha." Drago told him. "But please, oh Great Dragon Master, try your best."

"It wasn't your fault bud, they made you do it." Hiccup told him and Caverna could tell that he was trying to keep it together, just as Toothless was trying to shake off the Alpha's control. "You'd never hurt him, you could never hurt me." Hiccup told him as he rested his hand on Toothless' snout.

"How are you doing that?" Drago asked in amazement, as he felt Hiccup getting through to Toothless and the Night Fury shaking off the control of the Alpha.

"Please, you are my best friend bud." Hiccup told him in a whisper as he saw Toothless nearly shake off the control completely. "My best friend."

Then suddenly with a final shake of his head, Toothless had managed to free himself from the Alpha's control.

"No!" Drago suddenly shouted, hitting Toothless with his staff, this just proved to be a mistake as Toothless grabbed the staff and threw the man off of his back.

But now, without a rider, Toothless couldn't stay in the air, and this caused Caverna to look back at her brother. "Hiccup, go!"

"I'm coming bud!" Hiccup shouted as he jumped from the smaller Night Fury and as he fell towards Toothless, Caverna and Snowcap followed him. "I'm almost there bud!"

Suddenly both siblings were flying their dragons together, over the water, and up into the sky, looking back at the Alpha and Drago, Hiccup suddenly had an idea and he looked at Caverna. "We need to get those two apart!"

Caverna nodded and she watched Hiccup grab a ruined piece of red fabric and he tied it over Toothless' eyes, whilst both of them flew dodging ice.

"We've got to block him out Toothless." Hiccup told him, though this caused some debatable sounds from the Night Fury. "Do you trust me bud?"

To this, Toothless nodded, but before Hiccup put the fabric over his eyes, he took one last look at his mate, if this was the end; he wanted to take one last look at her.

"We can do this." Hiccup assured him, looking over at his sibling and her dragon. "The four of us, together."

Caverna looked over at him and she nodded. "Together, as one!"

Nodding, Hiccup set Toothless' tail fin and both riders picked up their speed as they shot towards the alpha.

As they passed over the village, they heard the applause, and a few words of encouragement from their friends and lovers, mainly Astrid's.

"Take him down, babe!" Astrid shouted to Hiccup.

As they passed their mother she gave them a triumphant smile. "Go get 'em." She told them tough she knew that they wouldn't hear her.

"Take control of them!" Drago shouted and as the Alpha tried to control them, both siblings rested a hand on their dragon's heads.

"Block it out." They told them in unison and as the Alpha blew ice at them, Caverna veered off whilst Hiccup froze Toothless' tailfin and managed to dodge it in time, only to fly in the opposite direction to his sister. The sight of this caused Drago to laugh, though it was cut short when he realised that Toothless' saddle was empty. He ended up turning around just in time to see Hiccup fly to him and unleash green smoke from his weapon and then ignite the trail, causing a blast that threw Drag from the Bewilderbeast and onto the ground. Caverna remained in the air as she watched her brother and Toothless reunite and fly towards her and then they both flew towards the ground. And just as they reached the ground, they both dismounted in enough time to see Hiccup throw his sword at Drago just as he went to grab his staff.

"Hold him there you two." Hiccup ordered the Night Furies as he put his 'wings' away and he and Caverna walked over as she removed the piece of her suit that covered her mouth.

"It's all over now." Hiccup told Drago, though neither sibling noticed the dust clearing and the Bewilderbeast behind them.

"Or, is it?" Drago asked and the siblings turned around, but just as they were about to be covered in ice, Hiccup pushed Caverna out of the way so that she fell into a rock.

However, she recovered just in time to see Hiccup get covered in ice.

"Hiccup!" She shouted, just as her mother landed next to the ice and she started hitting it trying to open it and get to him, but it was no use. The ice was much too thick. She then noticed that the other villagers had joined them and she caught the looks of grief on Astrid and Gobber.

Suddenly there was a blue light building up from inside the ice and as she stood up with Snowcap's help, she was suddenly pushed back down as an explosion ripped the ice apart, revealing a snarling and glowing Toothless and a well hidden Hiccup. In relief, danger be damned, she ran to her brother just as Toothless jumped onto an ice spike giving an almighty roar.

"He's challenging the Alpha." Hiccup shouted as Valka joined her children.

"He's challenging the Alpha, to protect you." She told him, and suddenly they watched as Snowcap joined her mate on another pillar of ice, both of them taking it in turns to shoot plasma blasts at the Alpha. Then both Night Furies moved to stand in front of their riders, allowing them to climb onto their saddles as the dragons that were once controlled by the Alpha, rallied around Toothless.

"No, no, no, no!" Drago shouted, grabbing his staff and running back to the Alpha, jumping onto one of his tusks. "Fight back." He ordered. "Fight back." He turned around and soon found that all of the dragons were now fighting for Hiccup and Caverna and they joined them in the air, both Night Furies standing side by side on a block of ice, their riders side by side and the rest of the villagers of Berk, looking on from the ground, all of the holding fury and anger in their faces.

"No do you get it?" Hiccup asked Drago.

"This is what it is, to earn a dragon's loyalty!" Caverna told him.

"Let this end, now!" Hiccup finished.

"Never!" Drago shouted and as he got the Bewilderbeast to attack, Toothless also got the other dragons to attack and them all shot fire balls and in Toothless and Snowcap's case plasma blasts, at the dragon.

As the shots hit home, there was a loud crack and everyone watched as one of the Bewilderbeast tusks was cut off, leaving the dragon to leave in shame and after an almost terrifying roar from Toothless – it did.

"The Alpha, protects them all." Hiccup told him, causing his sister to smile at him.

As the Bewilderbeast left, everyone on Berk erupted in cheers and Caverna turned around to see everyone standing there, happy and smiling and with a quick look at her brother, both siblings landed their dragons back on the ground.

As they both dismounted, the dragons returned to the ground as well and each dragon went back to their owners. Yet, not before they all bowed to Toothless, their new Alpha, well everyone but Snowcap who saw that her mate was starting to get a rather large ego at this and she hit him with her tail before she sat beside him.

"Hey!" Toothless complained. "What was that for?"

"Just making sure you don't get a big ego, Alpha." Snowcap told him and it made Toothless smile as they shared a loving nuzzle.

As they watched their dragon, Hiccup and Caverna smiled at each other, before they embraced each other in a hug and they were soon joined by their mother, who they soon became a group hug.

"Your father would be proud of you." She told Hiccup. "Both of you." She smiled, touching one side of Caverna's head, to which she leant her head into her hand.

Hiccup smiled at the sight before he walked to Toothless and held his head in his hands. "You never cease to amaze me bud." He told him, resting his head on his dragon's. "Thank you."

However, the tender moment was soon broken, as Toothless suddenly pushed Hiccup to the ground and started to lick him.

"Toothless, you know that doesn't wash out." Hiccup complained before he watched everyone get renewed with their dragons, though none were louder than Astrid and Caverna.

"Stormfly!" Astrid shouted, running over to her Deadly Nadder and sharing an embrace.

"Lightning!" Caverna shouted and she was suddenly tackled by Lightning as he ran over, squawking.

Meanwhile, Hiccup was having a small moment with Skullcrusher, since now Stoick was dead, he needed a rider and Caverna soon had an idea as she joined him with both o her dragons.

"You know, you'd make a great Dragon Wrangler, someday." Eret spoke up as he walked closer.

"Yeah, maybe, but you know, Skullcrusher needs someone to look after him now, would you like to?" Hiccup asked him as Skullcrusher hit the man with his horn, though it was in a playful way it still scared Eret to death.

"Me?" Eret asked.

"Why not, you've proven yourself enough." Caverna told him. "And I'll teach you everything that you need to know."

Eret smiled at her as he watched her remove her hood, before he looked back at the dragon and petted his snout. "It would be an honour."

Caverna smiled as Fishlegs and Astrid soon walked over and Cavern threw her arms around her boyfriend as Hiccup embraced his wife.

"See, I told you it as in here." Astrid told him, touching his chest, before she suddenly flicked the switch making the back fin on Hiccup's suit shoot out, causing everyone to laugh.

"Haha, still doing that one." Hiccup rolled his eyes before he suddenly pulled his wife closer. "Come here you." He told her and with a wicked smile, his lips were pressed against hers in a searing kiss.

However, their kiss was broken as Gothi tapped Hiccup on his shoulder and she gestured for him to step forward and after a quick look to his sister who nodded, he did. When he was at a reachable height, Gothi put her finger on some soot and she used it to make the mark of the chief on Hiccup's forehead. When he stood up, Hiccup looked at his sister and she smiled and then he looked at Gobber who decided to suddenly address the whole village.

"The chief is home!" He shouted.

From then on, it was just the sound of applause as the village erupted, and Hiccup smiled as he heard his sister's voice over everything.

"Long live the chief!" She shouted over everything, and that was how the chant started, in fact that was the point that it never stopped.
