The battle went on for hours, and soon they were confronted with what could only be described as the leading dragon – a Skrill. The mere sight of it froze Snowcap in the air before she looked up at her rider.

"It's alright, you're going to be okay." She told her.

"Oh really, the offspring of lightning and death itself, is scared of my wonderfully enormous Skrill." The voice came from Dagur and it made Caverna's blood boil, she didn't like Dagur at the best of times, but now he was threatening her dragon, she was starting to get severely pissed off. "Skrill, dinner time, and take the rider too."

Caverna prepared herself as the Skrill started to charge itself up with lightning, but as it was about to fire, a torrent of flames suddenly descended on it and Caverna looked up to see a very soaking wet Lightning above them.

"That's my boy!" Caverna shouted, just as Snowcap suddenly dived and she saw the Skrill aim a lightning bolt at Lightning, but he was too fast – he was called Lightning for a good reason. When Snowcap had flattened out, and Lightning had flown alongside them, she made a signal for him and he flew off, but not before the Skrill tried to get to Hiccup and Astrid who were fighting together. As the Skrill shot at Stormfly, Caverna and Snowcap got into the way and they knocked Astrid and Stormfly out of the way whilst they just about managed to get to safety as well. When they were up at a safe range all dragon riders regrouped and they looked at Hiccup.

"What do we do now chief?" Snotlout asked.

"We get him the fuck away from this village." Hiccup shouted over, and as the Skrill rose out of the clouds, they all scattered.

"Come out; come out, wherever you are." Dagur sang.

He sounded oddly happy, but then again he was deranged, but he didn't realise that he had gotten himself surrounded until it was too late, and suddenly there was dragons fly all around him, shooting fire and plasma blasts at him as they passed. Eventually a plasma blast got too close and it knocked both Dagur and the Skrill into the water. Everyone looked around to make sure that all of their friends were alright, before Caverna had Lightning fly down and pick up Dagur, just as there was a fireball aimed at the ship and the entire thing went up in flames, nearly hitting Astrid, Stormfly, Snotlout and Hookfang, but thankfully they were all able to get out of the way in time.

"Come on Lightning, let's take him back to Berk, and lock him up." Hiccup told the dragon who nodded and started to fly back towards Berk, carrying a squirming Dagur.

However, as they were all about to fly back towards Berk, Caverna got Snowcap to stop. "Hey, everyone, listen!" She shouted and everyone flew back over to her, even Lightning, and they all listened.

"I don't hear anything" Snotlout told her, but Caverna held a finger to her lips silently asking him to be quiet, and she listened for as long as everyone else did. Eventually, they could all hear it, faint cries for help, coming from the flaming ship below them.

"Someone's down there!" Astrid shouted to Hiccup, but before they were able to comprehend, they suddenly heard a cry from Snowcap and they saw Caverna jump onto the burning boat.

"Caverna, are you crazy?" Hiccup shouted down to her.

"I'll be fine." She shouted back, looking at Snowcap. "Say away from the fire, I'll call you when I need help." She told her, before she disappeared into the flames and smoke.

Everyone waited with baited breath as Caverna made her way through the smoke and burning boat until she found the lower deck. When she got down there, she shielded her eyes, and she looked around.

"Call out, let me here you." She shouted into the smoke.

"I'm over here!"

The voice sounded female, and it wasn't far away, which made Caverna almost smile, but she didn't have time, so she moved fast through the thick smoke.

"Keep shouting." She told her. "What's your name?" Caverna asked, trying to keep her target talking.

"Iris, my name is Iris." She coughed. "Help me!"

"I've got you." Caverna told her as she got to her and she helped her to her feet. Once she was fully standing, she helped her move as fast as she could toward the exit. They eventually made it, both of them coughing and gasping for air, before they suddenly turned back at hearing an almighty crack and they soon found the boat was collapsing.

"We're going to die!" The woman beside her screamed.

"Odin helps us." Caverna whispered, before she pulled the front part of her mask down and whistled as loud as she could, before she looked back at the woman. "Lift your hands up!"

"What?" She screamed. "We're going to drown and you want me to lift my hands up?!"

"Yes!" Caverna told her, before she done it for her and Snowcap suddenly pulled the woman into the air by her claws grabbing her hands like they did with Caverna, though this set the woman screaming again. Whilst, Caverna was picked up by Lightning, just as the boat collapsed into the water.

As they flew back towards Berk, no one failed to notice that one of the dragons was having a hard time holding onto their person. When they got back to Berk, Fishlegs and Astrid took the woman to see Gothi whilst Caverna, Hiccup, the twins, Eret and Snotlout stayed to check on the others.

"Caverna, you're bleeding." Ruffnut told her

"No I'm not." She told her, before she looked at her shoulder as Ruffnut pointed to her left shoulder and she touched it, her hand coming away with blood on it. "That's not mine." She then realised something, before she looked at Lightning who hadn't landed yet and she soon saw why. "Lightning, come here."

Lightning looked down at her and he carefully set only one of his feet on the ground and he limped over to her. When he got right in front of her, he rested his head into her hands and he enjoyed her touch on his cheeks.

"Are you going to let me see?" She asked him, and after a few minutes and he nodded, causing Caverna to look back at Hiccup and Snotlout. "I need you two to stand on either side of him, keep a hand either side of his face, to keep him calm."

The boys nodded and they moved to where they were told to go and helped to calm the dragon as Caverna took some bandages from her bag and she knelt before her dragon, examining the foot that he wasn't using. When she was close to it, she saw the problem as clear as light and what she saw was a large cut between his first and second toes; Dagur had obviously sliced him with a blade of some sort so that he would drop him, which explained the lack of a deranged Dagur on the island. But Caverna didn't care about Dagur right now, she only cared about making sure that her boy was alright, so she quickly bandaged up his foot and moved out of the way so that the others could let him go.

When that was done, everyone waited for Astrid and Fishlegs, who came back not too long after and they dismounted, walking up to their respected partners.

"How is Iris?" Caverna asked them.

"She's hopefully going to be fine, she has a rather severe wound on her side but Gothi is going to do all she can." Astrid told her.

"She's resting right now, but I think it would do you some good to go and see her, in the morning maybe?" Fishlegs asked.

"Why?" Caverna asked, looking at him.

"Because she would like to thank her saviour." Astrid told her, and then she noticed the two Deadly Nadders looking at Lightning's bandaged foot. "What happened to Lightning?"

"Dagur sliced his foot with a dagger." Caverna told her. "It's not serious, so he should be fine in a while, I'll clean it with water in the morning and get mom or Gothi to have a look at it, just to make sure." Caverna told her before she looked at her dragons. "Go home guys, get some rest, it's late."

Both of her dragons nodded, before Snowcap nipped Toothless' ear and she ran off, with him following, before Lightning and Stormfly flew off happily together. Eventually, the crowd dispersed, with Astrid and Hiccup heading home, Snotlout going up to the great hall, the twins disappearing to the great hall for no reason other than to play tricks on Snotlout and Eret went home to get some sleep and finally there was only Caverna and Fishlegs left and they were walking towards the Ingerman household, hand in hand. Upon reaching his home, Fishlegs allowed her to walk in first and she smiled to him as he shut the door behind them. The fireplace had been left on for the two to get warm after being out over the sea, and there was also a jug of water and a bowl to wash up. Caverna happily took the bowl into the opposite side of the room so that Fishlegs could gt dinner ready and she cleaned up, taking off the top of her flight suit, weapons and her mask and hood, letting her hair fall down her back in waves and she managed to wash all of the soot off of her face. When she turned around, the room was covered in lit candles and there were two bowls of a hearty stew on the table, the sight caused Caverna to smile as she took her seat at the table. As they enjoyed their food in comfortable silence, Fishlegs tried to clear his throat.

"Come on Fishlegs, you can do it..." He told himself in his mind, before he reached over across the table and gently took her hand. "Caverna..."

At her name, she looked up and she looked at him. "Yes Fishlegs?"

"There's something that I want to ask you." He told her. "And I don't want you to think that you have to, but...Well, I was wondering if we could...if we could um..."

"What's the matter Fishlegs?" Caverna asked, immediately stopped his blubbering.

"WillYouSleepWithMe?" He asked her, all in a rush.

Caverna just sat there blinking in truth she'd heard all of it but because it was so fast, she was trying to process it. "Did you just ask me to sleep with you?"

"Well...Um...Yes?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck. "Only if you want to."

This had Caverna falling into laughter, and that definitely wasn't the response that Fishlegs had been hoping for, but at least she wasn't mad, right?"

Meanwhile, in the stable outside of Hiccup and Astrid's house, Stormfly and Lightning lay together in their stall, snuggled up to each other.

"Your poor foot Lightning." Stormfly squawked.

"It's alright Storm, it's nothing serious, and you heard my mother." Lightning told her, gently nipping the side of her beak in loving tenderness.

"I know, but what if it scars?" She asked, Stormfly might have sounded rather selfish and image drove, but Lightning wasn't affected by it, after all, he gave up being a vain Deadly Nadder the first time he got scarred from an attack on Crendor, one more on his foot wasn't going to hurt, but he knew that her looks meant everything to Stormfly.

"Then I'll add it to my collection, scars don't bother me anymore Storm." He reminded her, before he suddenly seemed to realise something. "Why, will it bother you?" He suddenly asked.

"Of course not, I love you for who you are Lightning, and that means scars and all." She told him.

"Good." He seemed to smile softly, before he was suddenly pushed over by his mate and he felt her nipping at his neck. Like her rider, Stormfly wasn't exactly gentle with his mate, but luckily Lightning found her infliction of pain to be the right way to get him in the mood. As he righted himself, carefully minding his foot, he watched his mate walk a bit away from him and she mounted herself onto a rock, displaying herself to him. Taking the hint, quite quickly for a male, Lightning mounted her and both of them gave a noise of pleasure as Lightning entered her and their night was filled with bliss.
