(Sorry, if it seems a little short or rushed :P) I also started working on a playlist for The Artist and the Doctor feel free to leave any recommendations or any songs that you feel fit well with the story or remind you of any characters :)

"Sophie and I were just getting ready to put Alphie to bed. Sophie claimed that she had to use the toilet, so I put Alphie to bed myself." Craig explained to us as we sat around the table. "Almost a half an hour had gone by and Sophie still hadn't left the bathroom. So I broke the door down and she was gone. A minute later I got a phone call from an out of area number. On the other line was a very eerie almost inhuman voice. They were speaking English, but there was something off about the way they were speaking. The voice, I believe it was female; then informed me that they had Sophie and in order to get her back I needed to hand over the key. If I didn't hand over the key within the next five hours, she threated to take Alphie as well and hold them both captive before killing them both at the end of the night if I don't follow orders. Doctor, what am I going to do?" Craig cried out in exasperation.

The Doctor put a finger to his lips in thought before standing up from the table. "Where's the phone they called on?" The Doctor asked looking around the room.

Craig handed his cell phone to the Doctor who immediately began scanning it with the sonic. The Doctor's tongue poked out between his lips slightly as he examined the results. "Yup, thought so." He announced, tucking the sonic back in his pocket.

"What?" Craig demanded. "What's going on?"

"The sonic picked up a zenic link between your phone and the transmitter of the alien ship we're trying to locate. If I can pick up a stronger wavelength, then I can locate where this ship is, save Sophie and have these aliens out of your hair in… oh… lets say an hour."

"You're sure you can find Sophie?" Craig asked again.

"Yes, I just told you that I could. Now shut up, I'm picking something up." A faint beeping rang from the phone and slowly grew louder as time ticked by. Suddenly, the beeping stopped and an excited look flashed across the Doctor's face. "Bingo!"

"Did you find her?" Craig asked hopefully.

"Yes, she's on an alien ship that's hiding in plain sight. It's located about a mile from here." The Doctor rushed out the door before running back. His head popped out from behind the door. "Well, don't just stand there. Let's go."

"I can't just leave Alphie here, he's only a kid!" Craig argued.

The Doctor paused in thought. "Right… put him in the TARDIS he'll be safe there, no wait, actually, don't that."

"Why not?"

"This key that they're looking for I think it might be the key to the TARDIS. Not sure, but it's a very high possibility. Do you still have that sack that you used to carry him around in?"

"Doctor, he's too big for that, besides I'm not bringing him into a dangerous situation again. Remember what happened the last time."

"Doctor, you two go. I'll stay here with Alphie." I offered.

"But Claire, if something happens you won't have anywhere to go. The TARDIS isn't safe." The Doctor pleaded.

"Well, then I'll just have to figure something out then. Don't worry about me, we'll be fine." I reassured him.

The Doctor walked up to me and placed a soft kiss to my forehead. "Do you have your mobile on you?"

"You mean cell?" I asked, handing it over to him with a laugh.

"Yes, cell, mobile, whatever you want to call it. Just make sure it's on at all times and call Craig's number if you need me." He said handing it back to me once he was done putting in Craig's number. "Oh, and promise me that you'll be safe."

"I promise." I stood up on my tiptoes and pecked him lightly on the cheek. "You be safe to."

The Doctor threw me a wink before he left, Craig following close behind.

Once the two were out of sight, I locked all of the doors and closed all of the windows. For defense, I found a knife and some pepper spray which I quickly hid in my pocket. If anyone was coming here to take Alphie away, they would have to get through me first.

The Doctor

Craig and I had just left the house and were less than a few minutes away from where this spaceship had landed. In all honesty, I was regretting leaving Claire behind with Alphie. What if something bad happened? What if I lose her? All of these little doubts and questions were nagging at my brain; it was almost hard to concentrate on the task at hand. Finally, I pushed the unwanted thoughts away as I tried to refocus.

"Doctor, I think that's it." Craig pointed to a large metal dome slightly hidden behind a large cluster of trees.

"That's it alright." I mumbled in agreement.

The two of us approached the dome from the left side. A large circular door with a passcode prevented us from getting in. After a few flicks of my sonic, however, the door unlocked, allowing us access to enter the premises.

"Right, she should be around this corner." I said aloud, mostly to myself.

We rounded the corner only to find an empty chair. "What?" my hearts skipped a beat.

"Where is she? You said she would be here! This is where they took, yeah?" Craig asked in a panic.

"Stupid, Doctor…" I whispered to myself before whacking myself in the head repeatedly. A low growl rumbled throughout my body as I scanned the ship. "Do not do this to me!" I hollered.

"Doctor, where's Sophie?" Craig hesitated.

I swallowed the lump that was growing in my throat. "She's not here, Craig… She was never here to begin with."

"What do you mean?" Craig stared at me warily. "You said she would be here!"

"I was wrong!" I shouted unexpectedly. "They tricked me! They put fake alien life readings here so I would go after it. This was nothing, but a waste of time. Nothing but a trap to keep me occupied while they went in for the kill! Oh, that is so clever, but not clever enough. No one, and I mean no one, get's away with tricking me." After my little speech, I sprinted back towards the house, Craig following close behind.

Claire

"Daddy!" Alphie called from upstairs.

A heavy sigh escaped my lips before I ran up to go check on him. Poor little Alphie was sitting up in his bed tearstains lightly trailed down his cheeks.

"What's the matter?" I asked softly, taking a seat beside him on the bed.

"What happened to my Mommy?" The little boy asked between sniffles.

I paused. What do I tell him? I can't just tell a kid his mother was abducted by aliens. "She and your Daddy went out for a little bit. They'll be home soon. So as we wait for them to come home, I'm going to stay right here and take care of you. Ok?"

Alphie studied me carefully with those big blue eyes of his before shrugging it off. "Ok. Is she here to take care of me too?"

My heart skipped a beat and my blood ran cold. "What do you mean Alphie?" Alphie pointed behind me. Slowly I turned my head around and came face to face with a female alien about nine feet tall. Her skin was a dark metallic grey with light dusting of gold that appeared when the light hit it. Her cheekbones ended in harsh points and her eyelashes curled into one single lash. She stared back at me with her cool and calculating gold eyes.

"Err… hello." I managed to say.

"I've come to collect the child." She hissed flashing a snakelike tongue at me.

"I'm sorry, but this child is not yours to take." I answered defensively. My arm wrapped around Alphie's shoulders before pushing him slightly behind me.

"Hand over the key and you may keep the child."

"Fair enough."

I quickly reached behind me and sprayed the pepper spray in her face. She let out a blood-curdling screech before lunging at me. I quickly dodged her attack and reached for the knife in my back pocket. Unfortunately, she noticed and flicked it out of my hand. I gasped as her tongue shot out and wrapped itself around the knife, within the blink of an eye she swallowed the knife whole. She licked her lips in satisfaction, a sinister smirk gracing her alien lips. Her long legs carried her closer to me.

"Alphie, run!" I screamed just as the alien lunged at me. My head was smashed hard against the wall making stars dance around my vision. Where was Perious? He usually shows up if I'm in danger…I turned my head slightly to the side and relief washed over me when I realized Alphie had escaped.

"Mmm… you, my dear, are powerful…" The alien inhaled sharply, taking in my scent. "Never mind the child, you posses the key."

"What key?" I spat.

A smirk plastered across her golden lips. "The key to all of time and space. Nnoy has been after this key for generations, but finally. Nnoy has found it!" She laughed exposing her razor sharp teeth. "Now, enough of this foolish chatter. Hand over the key." Her hot breath landed on my face as she leaned in close to me. I had to refrain from gagging at the smell of rotten eggs mixed with moldy cheese that came from her breath.

"I'm sorry, but you're talking to the wrong person. I don't have such a key on me." I lied. She wants the key to the TARDIS. Hopefully, I can stall her for long enough.

"Lies!" She screeched in my ear. I winced as a loud ringing sound rang throughout my ears. "Give me the key!" She wailed.

"You want the key! Here take it!" A new voice shouted.

My eyes widened in horror as I watched the Doctor toss the key to the TARDIS to Nnoy. An evil smirk crossed Nnoy's features as she reached her hand out to catch it. As soon as her slender fingers wrapped around the little silver key, she let out a piercing scream and dropped the key. Her hand that caught the key suddenly started to melt.

"What did you do?" She screeched as the rest of her slowly started to melt.

"No evil is allowed to touch the key to the TARDIS. When it comes into contact with great evil, it slowly starts to melt them. A bit morbid, I know, but I don't mess around when it comes to the TARDIS. If she were to fall into the wrong hands the whole universe could be in danger. Now, tell me, before you completely melt away, where did you leave Sophie?" The Doctor bellowed.

"The human?" Nnoy smirked. "She's gone. I killed after I kidnapped her."

The Doctor jutted his chin out in anger. "Why would you do that? I gave you the key!"

"Yes, but look what it's done to me. We're even, Doctor." She giggled before completely melting away.

I stared numbly at the puddle that once was Nnoy. "Doctor…"

The Doctor walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me in a comforting hug. "Come on." He pulled away and led me downstairs where Craig and Alphie sat at the kitchen table.

"Did you guys kill it?" Craig asked. "Where's Sophie?"

"Where's my mommy?" Alphie asked.

The Doctor and I remained quiet unable to break the news to the pair. I averted my eyes from Craig as he looked between the two of us.

"She's not coming back, is she?" Craig asked slowly. The Doctor shook his head slightly a pained expression on his face. Craig nodded slowly tears prickling at his eyes. "Is Alphie safe?"

"Yes, Alphie will be safe and so will you." The Doctor answered solemnly. "Goodbye, Craig. Stormageddon." The Doctor patted the Craig on shoulder and kissed Alphie's cheek in farewell before heading back for the TARDIS. I gave the two a sad smile and followed after the Doctor.

A/N:

TheGirlWhoRan: What do i think of Rose Tyler? Hmm, I like her, but she's not my favorite (Sorry Rose Tyler fans!). I agree with you, I really liked her in her first season, but then as the series went on she did start to get a bit clingy. I still like her as a companion though! I like all of the companions of New Who (haven't started Classic yet) I just like some more than others :)

BrightGreenNails: You didn't offend me. I respect your opinion! Yeah, I have to agree that it was a little bad for Amy to say that, but it was essential to the plot of the story. River won't be in the story too often anyway, I just thought it would be fun to bring her in for a bit. I'm sorry if the chapter upset you.
