Kate's POV

The Next Day

I started to wake up from my deep sleep and I open my eyes slowly. My vision was a little blurry so I laid there for a little bit until I was able to see. I vision focused and I saw Humphrey sleeping. I then remember last night and what happened. That night was the greatest night I ever had and I'm glad I spent it with Humphrey. I looked at Humphrey and he had a smile on his face while he was sleeping. I guess he was having a good dream and I started to wonder what kind of dream he was having but before I could start thinking what dream he was having my stomach growled.

"I should get something to eat" I said to myself and I tried to get off of Humphrey but I forgot that he had his arms around me and I couldn't move. I then started to think how to get out of Humphrey's embrace then I had an idea. I moved my arms and grabbed his wrists and I started lifting them slowly. I lifted them until I had enough space to slip out. I then slowly put his arms on his chest and I stretched my muscles. Once I was done stretching I made my way to the entrance of the den. I saw that today was a beautiful day. The sun was all the way to the top which meant it was noon.

I started to walk to the feeding grounds to see if there was any caribou that I could eat. Once I got there I saw a hunting group there getting ready to go out and get some food. I walked over to the group and I saw Hutch was there.

"Hey Hutch"

"Hey Kate"

"Where were you?" You were supposed to do morning patrol with Lone today but when the patrol group came back they couldn't find you." Hutch asked

"Oh I spent the night at Humphrey's den and I lost track of time and overslept" I said

"Oh did you" he said putting his eyebrows up and down twice

"Fuck you Hutch" Kate said blushing a little.

"Alright alright" he said and turned to the group. "You guys ready?" Then the group said yes. He then turned back to me. "You want to hunt some caribou?"

"Yeah sure" answered and we all gathered up and we headed out.

Lone's POV

*sniffs air*

"Smells like a squirrel 5 feet away" I said as I concentrates and shadow spikes appear from me and stabs it. I then walk over to where the kill was and I see the squirrel with a hole in its chest.

"Bullseye" I said and I began eating it.

Once I was finished I then walk towards my den. I needed some rest after having a long night with Mary staring at the stars. I entered my den and go to the back where it was dark which helps my powers for some reason. But as I fell to sleep I had a bad feeling that something was going to happen before the fight that will either help or destroy us. I kept thinking what could happen but im sure its nothing me and Humphrey couldn't handle. So I just shook it off and I laid down and I slowly closed my eyes.

"Something just didn't feel right" I said as I fell asleep.

Kate's POV

30 minutes later

Four caribou are killed and in our possession. The hunting group was now carrying the carcasses back to the pack so they can eat. I was with Hutch on one caribou and the others on the remaining three. We took a long walk but we finally made it to the feeding grounds and there stood some of the pack waiting to eat. Me and Hutch took our caribou and set it down on the ground and we began to eat. The other did the same and soon the whole pack was eating the caribous we caught.

I finished my share and I looked around to see if Humphrey was here. I looked but I couldn't find him so I grabbed a caribou leg and made my way to his den. On the way I heard my name being called. I stopped walking and I looked behind me. My dad walked to me. He looked like he was nervous.

"Oh hi dad" I said as I put the caribou leg down and greeted him

"Hi Kate" he said in a nervous tone

"What's wrong dad?" I asked a little worried

"Its nothing sweetie I just had a talk with Humphrey."

"About what?" I asked now interested with conversation between Humphrey and my dad

"I was just asking him to come with me to a meeting with the other pack leaders to figure out a plan for the fight." He answered

"Oh right we need to do that as soon as possible."

"Way ahead of you. I already set up the meeting today so right now I need to take Humphrey and go to the meeting at the center of all the packs." he said hoping to get a plan that will help with the fight against Diablo.

"Oh ok. I was on my way to give him something to eat."

"Ok I'll come with you"

And with that I picked up the caribou leg and we both started going to Humphrey's den.

Humphrey's POV

I just finished having a talk with Winston about going to a meeting with the other pack leaders. "Well it was going to happen sooner or later" I said to myself. I still felt a little tired so I layed down and started to fall asleep.

(Dream)

Here I was with Kate and the rest of the pack just enjoying lunch. We had very successful hunt today. We brought back six caribous. The day was bright and sunny everyone was smiling but as this dream went on the darker. There was a bright flash and all of a sudden the feeding ground was full of blood. I saw friends and my pack all dead and their bodies rotting. I left the horrible scene and was heading to the field. In the field then I saw a lone wolf standing there it was Lone but he wasn't moving. I walked over and almost threw up. His body was impaled his stomach cut his eyes pulled out and shoved down his throat then there was something around his neck. It was clear enough it said "traitor" I was in shock and backed up.

I heard laughter in the distance. The voice made me angry.

"DIABLO!" I yelled into the sky.

He stood where the head alpha's den was. He had a smile on his face.

"Sir"

"Yes" Diablo growled

"The other packs are surrendering and we have taken over 90% of Jasper but the North is still giving us trouble their pack is impossible to find even with our werewolf senses"

"I don't care find them and kill them all I want Jasper to be red with the blood of our enemies."

I stood there and looked at him and I wanted to destroy him. Then the sky turned red. Everyone disappeared and the bodies were gone. I stood there wondering what was going to happen now.

"Humphrrreeeey! Release meeee!" A spine tingling voice said

I was spooked. I looked every direction that voice could have come from. "Who are you?! Where are you?!"

"I am youuu! You threw me away years ago but now I come for freedom!" The voice explained.

"You can't be me. What are you talking about?"

"I was you for years but you somehow locked me away deep inside of youuu. I wanted out ever sincccceee. And I will get out soooooooooon!"

Then I felt a sharp pain in my head. I screamed in pain and fell to the ground holding my head "AAAHHHHHH! Make it stop!" I yelled.

"You brought this on yourseeeellllf. Now I will beee FRREEEEEEEE!" It said and more pain came to my head. I then started to turn but I felt different turning. I felt pure evil in my soul.

While the dream

Kate's POV

I was walking with my dad to Humphrey's den until we saw Lone in front of us. "Hey Lone what's up?" I said as I put down the caribou leg.

"Oh hey Kate. Hi Winston. I'm just heading to my brother. I need to talk to him him. How about you? " he asked

"We need to talk to him too" I answered

"AAAHHHHHHH!"

The scream was coming from Humphrey's direction. I looked at Lone and he looked at me.

"Shit!" Lone said and he bolted to Humphrey's den.

"Kate what's going on?" my dad asked.

"No time to explain Humphrey is in trouble!"

He understood and we both started running toward Humphrey's den.

Lone's POV

I ran at top speed to my brother's den. "You better not be sleeping man." I said. I knew that something was wrong. He wasn't being attacked because we never detected any other wolves in the area when the alphas and I were scouting and even if there was I would have sensed them. "Wait it can't be I locked it away it wasn't supposed to come back. Fuck! Menendez must have made the seal I placed on him weaker when he did that cure on humphrey damnit!"

I soon was at the mouth of my brother's den. I saw him in the back of the den on the floor. I ran up to Humphrey. Black mist was circling him.

"Fuck!" I yelled "Leave him alone!"

I heard footsteps behind me and then Kate and Winston come running in. "Lone wha-" and that was all she could say when she saw Humphrey. "Humphrey!" She yelled and rushed over to him.

"No Kate stay back!" I said warning her that something will happen.

"Lone he needs me. I have to help him!"

"No you don't I have to" I said

"I want to help!" She demanded

"Winston help me here. I'm the only one that can help Humphrey here."

Winston looked at Humphrey's condition."Kate let Lone help Humphrey"

Just as he said that Humphrey started to cough up blood. "Humphrey Nooo!" Kate yelled and tried to get to him but I stopped her.

"Winston get her out of here!" I said and he went over Kate and started to pull her away to the outside of the den.

"Nooo! Let me go I need to be with Humphrey!" She yelled trying to get out of her father's grasp.

"Kate it's just till Lone is done helping Humphrey" he said trying to calm her down. "The only thing we have to do is just wait and hope Humphrey will be alright."

Kate then finally calmed down and she started crying "I don't what I'd do if I lost him."

"Its ok. Lone will do everything he can to help him." Winston said and they both started walking out of the den.

"Finally time for concentration" I said when Kate and Winston left the den"Ok... I've done this before I can do this again" I said and I took a deep breath but as I took a deep breath Humphrey started to growl and and grunt and his symbols on his body started to glow. The bright blue glow started to turn red. "Shit! Jackie is trying to take over" I said and I quickly sat down, closed my eyes and began to concentrate.

I felt my power growing and coursing through my veins. I soon opened my eyes and put one paw on his head and the other on his chest but I quickly pulled them away because Humphrey's body was extremely hot. "Ah shit" I said and started rubbing my hands. I decided to do do it again but the same result came out. I started getting frustrated with him. I then wanted to do it one last time so I put my paws in the same position and I held the pain in. My eyes turned pure black and I soon heard Humphrey yell in pain. I then heard Kate outside trying to get in here but then Winston as able to keep her back. I returned to Humphrey and he began to turn. The muscles on his body began to grow and I was going to lose him but I then I let my shadows cover his body. The red symbols on his body started to change back to normal and I stopped him from turning but then I felt a hand on my arm and I saw Humphrey's paw on my arm. He looked at me but his eyes were pure red.

"You won't stop me from gaining freedom!" He yelled in a demonic and started to put more pressure on my arm. He then threw me across the den and I landed outside.

Kate saw me get thrown out and she ran to me. "Lone are alright?" She asked she then looked inside the den only to see Humphrey standing up. "Oh my god Humphrey!" She yelled in joy and she ran inside

"No! Kate that's not Humphrey!" I yelled trying to warn her but she continued. She went go hug Jackie thinking it was Humphrey but he grabbed her by the neck. She was gasping for air.

"It looks like Humphrey had a bitch with him." Jackie said and laughed "I don't think Humphrey will miss you" he said and Kate's eyes went wide.

"Leave her alone!" I yelled as I ran in and rammed my shoulder to his side tackling him to the ground. I then was on top of him and began punching him. "Kate get out of here!" I said and Winston came running in. He grabbed Kate and ran from the demand headed for their den. I kept punching Jackie and I gave him one last hard punch to the face and knocked him out

"You will never come out Jackie. As long as I'm here you will stay locked away!" I yelled at Jackie and I put my paws on his head and chest. My eyes went pure black and my shadows were taking over and I felt hand on my arm again.

I looked down and I saw Jackie trying to sit up but he was too weak. He looked at me "I will find my way to break him! You haven't seen the last of me!" Jackie yelled and his eyes went back to normal and I knew it was my brother again. Humphrey looked at me and let go of my arm. I took my paws off of him and stepped back. He was breath heavily.

"Fuck! I thought he would never leave." He said and grabbed his head with both paws. "Ah fuck my head!" He said and he sat up.

"What? No thank you for saving your ass from Jackie. Again." I said

"Oh yeah thanks man." He said and he looked at me. "Wait...again? What do you mean by again?"

"Yeah after you were born and before I was abandoned you had Jackie bothering you all the time so I put a seal on you and locked him away inside you but since you went to Menendez and you got partially cure the seal was weaken and he was able to get out but I just weakened him for now. You're lucky I'm here."

"Holy shit man! I thought it was the evil part of me. But who is Jackie exactly? Why and how is he in me?" He asked

I sighed "Well..."
