Naruto the Sharingan Wielder
Chapter XXII: End of Prelims and Jiraiya

Summary: In the last chapter, we covered the prelims and the fights were good though some were not what the viewers expected. So now, it all comes down to Naruto vs. Rock Lee since Asum revealed that Naruto has a high iq but was 10 points away from surpassing Shikamaru. Therefore, he is going to have to use what he has learned to take on Rock lee.
"Would Rock Lee and Uzumaki Naruto please step into the arena?" said Hayate.
Both competitors nodded as they shunshined off from the balcony and onto the field below. As they faced each other, Naruto said, "I know that this is our first time battling each other, but since I am not like gaara. I will try not to break every single bone in your body.
"Duly noted, Naruto-kun! As a taijutsu master myself, I will go all out if I have to. And if I don't, I wil run 200 laps around the arena and 500 push-ups if I don't defeat you!" said lee as he gave the boy that trademark smile.
Everyone sweat-dropped, including naruto. "Okay, I think Gai-sensei must have corrupted Lee long enough in order for him to win against me. I think I will need to have a serious talk with the Hokage about defecting to Itachi Uchiha later on." Thought Naruto as the proctor stepped back to allow the match to begin.
Both shinobi engaged in a vicious taijutsu battle. But to any of the jonins, they were nothing but blurs at high speed due to the power and speed behind those attacks. Those strengths alone could easily shatter anyone when an opponent takes the hit. Any punch or kick they gave, the opponent blocks it very easily as shockwaves started to appear in the arena. However, Lee immediately dashed towards Naruto and closed the distance in no time. He then called "Konoha Sempuu" (Leaf Whirlwind) and tried to kick him, but Naruto brought up his right arm and blocked his kick.
Lee immediately jumped back and Naruto regretted from blocking that move as his arm was starting to feel numb. Once lee returned to the ground again, he charged at high speed towards Naruto as they both continued to engage each other in a fierce speed of taijutsu. Although Naruto had the ability to use chakra to empower his muscles, he also has a slight advantage in speed that was perfect for quick encounters.
As the battle raged on, Lee went past Naruto's defenses before crouching beneath Naruto and said, "Konoha Shofuu (Leaf Rising Wind)". He then tried an uppercut with his feet at Naruto but he managed to roll away just in time before dodging. He then tried sweeping Lee's legs, only for him to jump back and evade it as well. Once lee touched the ground, he disappeared in a burst of speed. Naruto then looked around until he felt Lee coming directly at him with a drop kick. Luckily Naruto evaded it without any trouble at all.
"Your Taijutsu is very good, Naruto-kun, I expected nothing less from my eternal rival," said lee with tears in his eyes.
"S-Sure Lee, eternal rivals." Shuddered Naruto as he tried to back away since he was getting a little uncomfortable seeing Lee acting like this. At that moment, Naruto realized that he just signed his own death warrant walking into this match. Luckily for him, Hinata was a good sparring partner at taijutsu since she always used her gentle fist.
Even though Naruto had the advantage in speed, he sometimes managed to land a punch or a kick. However, Lee managed to brush them off as nothing more than a little scratch. Their difference in speed was almost removed by Lee's experience in taijutsu. This time, it was naruto's turn to take charge of the situation as he ran towards Lee and only managed to land a sloppy punch which Lee easily side-stepped. Naruto then threw his hands to the ground in order to support himself while using his legs to snare lee's head between his feet. With a swift motion, Naruto's ankles threw lee at a wall, leaving him no chance to block.
"That was most impressive." Said Gai as he watched that particular movement in order to firmly give Lee damage.
"naruto's taijutsu has certainly incorporated a lot of acrobatic movements. He could easily snap Lee's neck with that one." Said Hinata. Gai's eyes widened at that statement but he was grateful that his student was alive.
"I did not expect that technique from you, Naruto-kun" said lee as he brushed the dust off from his shirt.
"Lee, take them off," yelled Gai from the balcony.
Lee heard what his teacher said and was surprised. "I thought you can only remove them if it was to be used to protect those that are important to you." Said lee.
"I know, but now, I am giving you permission to remove them." Said Gai.
Lee heard this and smiled as he sat down on the ground and removed the weights he was wearing beneath his orange leg warmers.
'So he has the ability to use weights. I knew that wasn't just the extent of his full power' thought Naruto as he attempted to remove his seals. Unfortunately, he feels that it wasn't the time to do that yet.
"Just removing the weights won't do much." Said Sakura as she watched lee taking off the weights before dropping them on the ground, causing a crash to shake the entire arena.
"That was a bit too much, wasn't it Gai?" asked kakashi.
"How on earth can he even stand with so much weight?" yelled Yugito. What exactly was up with these leaf shinobi? They are all crazy.
"YOSH! Now I am able to move freely without the weights." Said Lee.
Naruto didn't even manage to blink as Lee appeared right in front of him before dishing out a powerful kick to the blonde's face, sending him tumbling to the ground. The boy slowly got up as lee appeared next to him again and kicked him in the stomach, thereby sending him crashing into a wall. He then launched a few kicks towards Naruto into the air, preventing our hero from assessing the situation. Afterwards, lee decided to finish this off with a drop kick onto the boy, causing him to fall onto the cement floor, leaving cracks from the pressure and a release of dust.
"That's some speed." Said kakashi
"That's incredible, I never expected anything from one of Gai's students." Mused Sakura.
"My Sharingan should have been able to track that speed, he is nothing more than a blur." thought Sasuke as he seethed through gritting teeth
"Looks like Naruto is finished." Said Asuma.
"I wouldn't celebrate just yet," replied Kurenai with a grin, leaving confused looks on kakashi and Asuma.
Back in the arena, Naruto slowly got up before plopping a few rocks off from the crater that was used. He then dusted off the dirt from his body and walked over to his jacket. "you know, that jacket was my favorite." Everyone sweat-dropped while the boy tried to remain calm after he was thrown onto the face of the earth.
Naruto raised his right hand and made a tiger seal before yelling out, "Gravity Seals KAI!" Soon, his whole body glowed and dimmed down again.
"You are not the only one that has trained with many weights, Lee. I prefer using resistance seals." Said Naruto as he flexed his muscles in order to get used to his new speed before running at a high pace towards Lee, leaving his opponent unable to do anything as the boy took a page from Lee's book and punched him straight in the face.
"That Knuckleheaded idiot sure is fast." Said kakashi. "Looks like you were right, Kurenai, he also has weights on."
"I didn't see him removing any weights." Said Ino.
"He is not wearing physical weights, but rather gravity seals. These were invented by the boy's father, the fourth Hokage in order to restrain body movement in order to allow you to put more strength to move." Explained Kakashi.
"I want those seals for myself." Demanded Sasuke
"Sorry, but I cannot do that. Those seals can only be applied by someone that is very well versed in seals. Therefore, they are very dangerous for someone like you if you are not able to use them wisely. Also, you are not going to be able to deactivate them during a battle against an opponent that has a big advantage." Said kakashi in a serious tone.
"How can that dobe use them?" asked Sasuke.
"He is a seal master." Finished Kakashi.
"But I thought you needed to be smarter than that to learn seals." Asked Sakura.
"I guess Hinata was right about Naruto's IQ." Chuckled Kakashi.
As the vicious taijutsu battle raged on, it seems that both opponents have been at each other for several minutes while trying to wipe the sweat from their bodies. Luckily, the speed behind those attacks was enough to completely shatter any bone in an opponent's body.
No matter how many punches or kicks that Naruto and lee gave each other, both are able to block it at top speed while sending shockwaves throughout the whole arena. As Lee disappeared in a burst of speed, he snuck behind Naruto and decked another punch, but Naruto easily catches it with both of his hands and brought Lee in front of him before landing a kick on his stomach while Lee simply shrugged it off.
"As expected from a taijutsu master, I am faster, but you got more strength." Said Naruto.
"So It is" said Lee as he regained his balance while untangling his ligatures in both arms before disappearing and sneaking behind Naruto before kneeing him in the stomach and kicking the kid in the air. While the blonde was in mid-air, lee appeared next to him and tapped his back yet again before wrapping tape around the boy and started spinning very fast towards the ground. "Front Lotus!" shouted Lee.
"This is going to hurt like hell." Said Naruto as he continued dashing towards the ground head first.
BOOM!
A massive shockwave was heard throughout the whole room as lee sent Naruto to the ground yet again, making another big crater. This time the crater was a lot bigger than the previous one. As for Lee, he was on the side watching the dust cloud settle before seeing Naruto on the ground.
"OHHHH! That hurts a lot more. I regret not using my bloodline." Said Naruto as he got up and fixed his neck while dusting his clothes off.
"Impossible! How can you still stand up after that vicious assault?" asked lee as he paused to breathe since he had used a forbidden move that took a devastating toll on his muscles.
"By channeling chakra to my body, I have the ability to strengthen myself and lessen the impact on my body. So now, it is time for me to show you the power of my taijutsu style." Said Naruto.
Lee didn't want to give his opponent any time to recover as he dashed towards the blonde and said, "Konoha Sempuu." At that moment, Naruto intercepted the move and elbowed Lee's leg, leaving him in pain as he nursed it.
"Lee, if you continue like this, you are going to get seriously hurt. Please surrender now as I do not want to put you in the hospital. You are lucky I didn't put enough pressure on your bones since my true taijutsu style is targeting weak pressure points." Said Naruto.
"Sorry Naruto, but there is no way I can give up now. Gai-sensei, please forgive me as I must do this." Said lee as he got up and brought his arms up towards his chest in X form. Naruto then watched as his veins started to show beneath his skin as they started glowing redder.
"lee, don't open those gates, you are going to do serious damage to your body. This is going too far." Said Naruto.
"Sorry, but this is my nindo way," stated lee
"Kaimon, Kyuumon, Semon, Shoomon, Tomon, KAI!" Shouted lee as the air around him began to swirl due to the massive amount of chakra being used.
"You taught him how to open the gates?" ARE YOU INSANE?" asked Kakashi.
"I don't want to hear that from you since my student can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu. He can only rely on taijutsu." Said Gai.
"I sense chakra all around his body, this is so amazing!" said Sakura as she watched in amazement.
"Teach me that move, kakashi-sensei." Said Sasuke.
"Don't even think about it. The gates are extremely dangerous and if you open then all, you would temporarily gain the strength to surpass a kage. But then, you die." Explained kakashi.
"So, if Lee uses the gates, then he would die too right?" asked Sasuke.
"You die if the last gate is opened. However, your body won't be strong enough to handle the strain of the lower gates so you can easily die as well." Said kakashi.
"You are truly amazing Lee, but I cannot lose here and I promised a swift taijutsu battle here and now. "KAIMON, KYUUMON, SEIMON, SHOMON, TOMON KAI!" shouted Naruto as his chakra exploded.
"How on earth did he open the gates? Kurenai, did you have something to do with this?" said kakashi in a dangerous voice.
"NO, I didn't know he could do the same technique as Lee." Said Kurenai.
"That brat is hindering my plans to take his soul." Thought Gaara to himself as he left the arena, but he was stopped by two ANBU guards as they escorted him out and towards the interrogation room while one of them restrained gaara from unleashing his sand.
"Gaara, please control yourself! Lee is currently fighting Naruto and if you interfere now, you will endanger both of their lives." Warned Kankuro.
"He's right, unless you want to be executed, you will refrain yourself from hurting a shinobi from another village." Warned Asuma as he gestured the ANBU guards to escort the sand ninjas away from the battle and out of the arena. With them gone, Naruto would be able to focus on the match at hand.
"It looks like Naruto was distracted for a bit, but he knows what he is doing since anyone can open the gates as long as he knows where they are situated in the body. I haven't done it yet, but I can only go up to four gates." Said Hinata. "Go get him, Naruto-kun!"
Naruto laughed at the enthusiasm Hinata showed him and decided to show the gang just what he was made of.
"You really got no restraint, do you?" replied Kurama
"I never hold back on anything, kurama-san. Now then, Keimon, Kyoomon, KAI" said Naruto as he surrounded himself with blue aura.
"Seven gates." Said Kakashi as he was barely standing since many of the other weaker genins were just shocked at what just happened. Soon, Naruto called upon the gate of death as everyone's eyes widened at the boy's muscles bulging out completely. It also ripped off his armor and shirt that he had worn. As Naruto walked towards lee, every step he took had the ground cracking and his whole skin was red from using the gates.
"He finally did the unthinkable." Said kakashi as he fell to his knees.
"Don't worry, I've seen plenty of people and only five of them opened the gates and lived to tell about it." Said Hinata.
"Y-you mean he can open the last gate and live?" asked Gai and Hinata.
Back in the arena, Naruto was prepared to end the match once and for all. "Ready Lee?" he asked. Lee gulped since he knew what was coming next. He looked around and felt some crippling pain in his stomach. He looked down and saw Naruto with his fist embedded in his chest, sending Lee flying, but nt before the blonde kneed Lee in the back and continued to send him into the air. He then disappeared again and gave Lee a good punch for good measure before sending him crashing to the ground. For the final blow, Naruto gave a sharp blow to lee's chest as he crashed to the ground, leaving the whole building shaking and the arena in shambles.
"Well, I guess this is the end. I hope you got enough strength left since you need to rest your body." Sid Naruto as he kneeled to the ground since opening the gates took a lot of strength out of his body. Hayate then approached Lee to see if he was still in one piece and began touching his neck. However, there was a weak pulse.
"Winner by knockout: Naruto uzumaki. MEDICS!"
No one said anything after what they just witnessed today since they were wondering how Lee managed to survive those brutal strikes. They saw Naruto walking towards them as he breathed heavily.
"So that's the power of the eight gates," said Gai.
"Are you all right Naruto?" asked kakashi.
"Yeah, I should be since I just need some rest so that I can get back into action later on."
"You are not human, none of you are." Said Yugito
"That's the funny thing. If it wasn't for the furball, I could have died." Chuckled Naruto. "If you did that move you won't survive either since only I have better options after I promised lee a taijutsu only battle. This time, I won't be able to move properly thanks to that amount of power.
"Do you know who they are?" asked Sasuke smugly
"There is killer me, Me, and of course fuu." Said Naruto
'Why are they special?"
"It's not my place to say, sasuke." Replied the blonde.
"All right contestants, gather up." Said Hayate.
"Is Lee going to be okay?" asked Naruto. "I am so sorry for unleashing so much devastating blows on him."
"Well, since his muscles are torn, he also has a few broken bones along with a dislocated shoulder and a concussion. But don't worry. He will need to rest for three weeks before he can walk again. Therefore, the only person that can heal those injuries is Tsunade herself. And you don't have to worry since you didn't do too much damage to him." Said Hayate. "Anyway, the finals of the chunin exams will take place in about a month so be prepared."

"Looks like I need to show the power of my sharingan to the sand monster." Smirked Sasuke.
Naruto laughed at him and Sasuke scowled. "What is so funny, Dobe?"
"I'll give you that much, the sharingan is an amazing tool but that alone will not be enough to defeat me." Said Naruto.
"You don't understand the true power of the sharingan so I will definitely show it to you in the finals." Said Sasuke.
"We shall put that bloodline to the test then." Smirked Sasuke.
"I guess it is your destiny to fail, Uzumaki. You will never defeat me since you always have Hinata at your side. I will make you regret the day you stole her from me." Said Neji
"Maybe, but your clan needs to stop treating each other like dirt since Hinata is special to you. Don't try to kick her out just because she has the ability to fight." Said Naruto.
"Okay everyone, you may leave now. See you all in a month. And, Naruto, you need to stay since I need to talk to you about something. And you might want to see Ibiki about how to keep Orochimaru at bay as well since you prevented the deaths of the sound genins." Said the Hokage
Once everyone cleared the room, the hokage took Naruto to a nearby room and settled down into a chair.
"Congratulations on the match, you did pull off a dangerous move." Said the Hokage in a serious tone.
"I know, but you know I would never use the gates since I have other options since I wanted to give Lee a good taijutsu match." Explained Naruto as the Hokage nodded.
"Now that you got the entire month off, what do you plan to do?" asked the Hokage.
"Well, aside from training, I might help Ibiki with the sound Genin and trying to get gaara to sleep better and sealing his jinchuuriki to prevent it from going out of control. I do believe that with my abilities, I can save Gaara from going on a rampage and have him assist me in taking down Orochimaru.
"Well, I can only wish you good luck on that since you are going to be getting some allies because the information that ibiki got from the three sound genin seems to confirm our suspicions regarding Kabuto and Orochimaru working together to tear Konoha apart. Furthermore, I think you should have no problems with gaara's interrogation and the sealing process right?" asked the Hokage.
"As long has he doesn't try to kill me, I will do my best. Anyway was there something else you wanted to tell me?" asked Naruto.
"Well, since you and Hinata have passed, Kurenai is planning to train one person effectively since kakashi is too busy favoring Sasuke. I just thought you might like to know that your godfather arrived yesterday in Konoha." Said Hiruzen.
"My Godfather? Who is he?" asked Naruto.
"Jiraya of the sannin, one of my students and teammates of your grandmother." Replied the Hokage as he watched Naruto's jaw hit the floor.
"That perverted hermit who calls himself a legendary author writing those smut literatures that Kakashi reads is here? Holy shit, no wonder Tsunade did a number on his for peeping at her." Said an indignant Naruto.
"Yep, the one and only, but don't say that to him directly since I am a fan of those icha icha books. He should be in the…. Hot springs." Laughed the Hokage.
"Remind me to burn those books you have hidden in your secret compartment underneath your desk when I am chunin." Said Naruto as he glared at his surrogate grandfather.
The Hokage sweat-dropped at that remark but continued laughing as he watched Naruto left the room to find his godfather since he knows that Jiraiya is one of the three legendary sannins since this man should be able to teach him all sorts of powerful techniques and has the ability to suppress Gaara and Sasuke's seals later on.
As Naruto left the arena, he found his team waiting for him.
"Is everything okay with you, buddy?" asked Kiba
"yeah, the old man said that my godfather was in town and to my surprise, I didn't know I had one." Said Naruto.
"Godfather? Who is he?" asked Kurenai
"Jiraiya of the Sannin, also known as the perverted hermit." Said Naruto as he laughed in their faces. "I know I had the same reaction as jiji had told me. So anyway, how do you want to train me, sensei?"
"Well, since you got a perverted teacher in town, I cannot train you and Hinata at the same time since it would be unfair as you would probably face Neji in the finals." Said Kurenai.
"Please do your best with Hinata's training while I pester my godfather since he has nothing better to do anyway." Said Naruto.
"Will do." Smiled Kurenai.
"I will see you later at home, hime" smiled Naruto as he kissed Hinata's cheek and left, leaving a blushing and furious Kiba trying to rip the blonde a new one.
At the hot springs, Naruto's primary objective is to find Jirayia since he has an oil symbol on his forehead and a scroll attached to his back while wearing kabuki styled clothing and having white hair all over. As the boy walked through the village, he was so tired from opening all the gates and received a berating by Kakashi. Once he arrived at his destination, he walked towards the reception desk and sees a woman about 40 years old with neck length black hair and brown eyes.
"Good afternoon, I wanted to know if there is a man named Jiraiya using the hot springs?" asked Naruto.
"Sorry, I don't know anyone by that name." said the woman. "There are a couple of kunoichis but the male section is completely empty."
"Thanks anyway." Said Naruto as he walked out and noticed ebisu standing there.
"It's been a long time, you closet pervert. I see peeping on women hasn't changed you at all." Said Naruto as he watched ebisu shuddering in despair.
"Such infernal insolence. I will have you know I am a gentleman." Explained Ebisu
"Sure sure, but mind explaining to me why you got a small trickle of blood on your nose?" asked Naruto
"Nonsense. Shouldn't you be training right now? I heard that you are going to be facing off against Gaara and Sasuke in the finals." Said Ebisu.
"Yeah, what the hell is so special about that Sasuke anyway? I can easily drive his ass on the ground in front of everyone in no time." Said Naruto.
"You think you can beat a rookie of the year like him?" asked Ebisu. "You are no match for gaara."
"Even a genin can kill a kage. Anyway, shouldn't you be training Konohamaru instead of peeking at the women?" said Naruto.
"I was just testing the water to see if it is still in perfect condition. Therefore, this will be a good chance for my student to train his chakra control." Stated Ebisu smugly. Just then, the two of them heard giggling coming from the baths. They then walked toward the source and found a man with a small telescope peeping on the women that were talking amongst themselves.
"This kind of behavior will not be tolerated in my presense." Yelled Ebisu as he charged at the man.
"Such fool for ruining my research." Thought the man as he erupted in a poof of smoke and revealed a toad. He then stuck out his tongue and wrapped it around Ebisu, slamming him into the ground while knocking him out cold.
"So this guy uses toads, eh?" thought Naruto as he watched the man with waist-length, spiky white hair tied back into a pony tail with two shoulder length bangs that framed his face. He also had red lines running down from his eyes along with a forehead protector that said Oil. He also wore a green kimono with matching pants and mesh armor that matched his outfit. Also there were matching wooden sandals and a red haori with two simple yellow circles on each side.
"Are you jiraiya?" asked Naruto
Jiraya looked at the young blonde asking who he was. He then started dancing and saying, "I may look like a sannin but you cannot hide from me. From the north, east, west, and south, the women kneel before me, I am the gallant jiraiya." He stopped dancing as he watched the blonde stare at him
"Why are there idiots all over this crappy village? The old man, Kakashi, and my godfather are perverts, not to mention cyclops is always late. My grandmother is gambler and a drinke and now my godfather just knocked out my teacher and pretended that nothing happened. Now that I think about it, who is my godmother?" Thought Naruto.
"Are you really my godfather?" asked Naruto since he didn't want to know the truth
"Godfather? Wait a minute, you must be Minato's son right?" asked Jiraiya. Now that he looked at him, the blonde kid really looked like his father the last time when he was just 4.
"Yes, that's me," replied Naruto.
"You've grown." Said Jiraiya as he kneeled towards the boy's level.
"You are such a lady killer. I think I just found you as my next source of inspiration." Laughed Jiraiya as he patted the boy's back.
"I wonder why my father chose you?" asked Naruto
"You know who your father is?" asked Jiraiya
"yeah, I've known that since birth. But since you don't have a clue about it due to the fact you were away from Konoha for a long time. Anyway would you like to help me train for the upcoming chunin exams?"
"All right, but under one condition." Said Jiraiya
"What sort of condition?" asked Naruto
"Get me some mature "fruit" said Jiraiya as he giggled perversely
Naruto facepalmed before a grin came to his face. "I will do you one better" smirked Naruto as he activated his sharingan right in front of Jiraiya's eyes. Before Jiraiya could say anything, Naruto looked at him and said, "Magen: harem viewing technique." This caused the pervert to get dragged into a similar hot spring but it wasn't.
"Jiraiya-kun" said a blonde woman as she approached Jiraiya submerged in the water. She had a purple diamond shaped mark on her head and brown eyes. Also, she had a slender frame as well.
"Oh, Tsunade-hime you naughty woman, I knew you loved me, come here." Said Jiraiya as he nearly passed out from the blood loss.
"Tsunade? As in Tsunade the slug sannin? OH FUCK!" thought Naruto as he ended the technique.
"Stay away from my baa-chan you pervert!" yelled Naruto.
"You got some explaining to do about Tsunade and that sharingan." Replied Jiraiya.
