Humphrey's POV
"Ugh where in God's name am I?" I asked myself as I put my paw on my head
"Well hello there my child" said a deep male voice full of comfort and serenity.
I looked around and saw no one until I saw a shining wolf come out of the shadows and make light shine everywhere. I got scared and started to back up from the wolf. "Do not be scared my child. I just want to welcome you to my home"
"Your home?" I said with confusion evident in my voice
"Yes" the white male wolf said. I looked around and saw nothing but white everywhere.
Then things started to take form into a wolf pack and it was just like the western pack only all the wolves were happy and healthy. "This looks like my home" I said as I got up and started to walk around. All the wolves stopped and looked at me then they all came up to me and hugged me like I was a family member even though I did not know anyone of them until I saw them. There were two wolves in front of me. One big one and a pup. They had my fur color but there eyes were different. The pup had amber eyes and the other wolf had aqua blue eyes like mine and Lone's.
"Welcome home honey" said the wolf in front of me. The voice was a familiar female voice.
"Yeah welcome home big bro" the female pup said as she run to me with tears in her eyes and she hugged my leg.
Then I started getting flashes of the past. Everything that had happened to me was flashing before my eyes. Once the flashes stopped I looked down at the pup that was still hugging my leg. My eyes were forming tears. "S-S-Silver" I said before I pulled her off my leg and I gave her a huge hug.
Then I put her down and went over to my mom and almost crushed her with a hug. Then a wolf I had never seen before came up but I did not care for him as I was too happy and had way too many tears in my eyes.
"Humphrey... I have seen you have grown into a fine wolf and I see you met your brother Lone." My mom said
"Yeah he is a big help when I needed to be controlled. Wait a sec... (Humphrey processing system engaged 3...2...1… WTF) uh where am I?"
"You're in heaven idiot" said a voice that was manic and was calm at the same time I turned to see who it was and I saw Jackie.
"What the hell are you doing here you bastard?!"
"You and me were together when we died so you dragged me to this… hell with you. Besides this place makes me sick. I actually think I rather go to hell than here." Jackie said with disgust at the sight of everyone being happy.
"You really know how to ruin everything don't you Jackie?" I snarled at him.
"Yesssss" he said darkly
"Now that you are here my pack won't have to worry about you" I said
"That may be true but they are missing one of the most important element" he said with a maniacal smile.
It took me a second to realize what he meant by that. "No"
"That's right" he said with a huge smile "You wouldn't want your pack, let alone your precious Kate be killed or even raped by Diablo's pack now do you"
"You suck Jackie you know that. I would kill you but that wouldn't help" I said trying not to slice his neck open
"Oh… angry aren't we?" He said
"Jackie you have exactly five god damn seconds before I take my claws and make Eve's threats look like a pile of puppies!" Humphrey said with a raspy dark voice
"Oh I am so scared. If you kill me I will just reappear here idiot" Jackie said calmly
"I will find a way to help my pack. Even without your help." I said
"I know a way" a voice said behind me. I turn to see Silver behind me "I know how you can help"
"You do?"
"Yeah" she said cheerfully "Jackie can give you his power and bring you back to life"
"Is there anyother way?" I asked still uncomfortable from the last time Jackie got out
"No not really that is the only way that we know of." Silver said
"Even Annelise was here for a bit before she became an angel to help Lone keep you under control" My mom said
"Tis all true my child" God said
Jackie sat back watching us come up with our little plan. He then manically laughed "You think I would let you go back to help your pack"
"JACKIE!" God yelled "You help your host or so help me I will keep you here for all eternity in my lovely villa with every love filled person who will hug you for all eternity!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
I laughed at God's threat against Jackie. I then whispered to my mom and sister they nodded and went up to Jackie and hugged him. He started screaming bloody murder.
My mom and sis let him go and backed up then we all fell to the ground laughing even God couldn't help but chuckle a bit at Jackie's misfortune. I couldn't breath I was laughing to hard
"Laugh all you want!" Jackie yelled as black mist formed around him "I still won't help you" he said and a large crack formed in the ground. Fire blazed from the hole in the ground. Jackie then backed up towards the hole "You want me… come and get me!" he said and he fell in the fiery abyss.
Then we heard screaming and he landed next to the hole.
"Welcome back" said God
"See ya" said Jackie
"AHHHH!" *crash*
"Welcome back" said God… again
"Goodbye! He said and jumped back into it
"AHHHH!" goes through the hole again "AHHHH!" *thump*
"Welcome home my son" God said just to mess with Jackie
"The hell! Why can't I go to hell?!"
"Remember me idiot" I said "You can't go anywhere without me and since I am supposed to be here. You'll just keep falling and appearing here."
"God fucking damn it!" He yelled
"What did I do?" asked God
Then my family and I fell to the ground dying of laughter. God was looking at us confused making us laugh even harder. Our eyes were starting to water from the pain of the laughter.
I finally calmed down enough to ask god a question "Can I look down from up here and spy on my friends and family?"
"Yes come with me my child" We walked towards a den that was not to far from where I was with my family. We entered a den filled with stars. I looked at the room in awe.
"What is this place?" I said still amazed at the room.
"This is where I watch over people" God said "Look how I do it" He then led me to a puddle of some kind of glowing water.
"What is this?"
"This is Holy water my child"
I looked at him with a confused face "So you look over people through here?"
"I don't sit here and look here" he said with a smile
"What do yo…." was all I could say until God grabbed my arm and he jumped in the puddle dragging me with him. We both fell and I landed on my back "OW!" I yelled as I felt the pain "What the hell man"
"Sorry for the rough landing. But I thought you wanted to see this" he said
"What is it?" I said as I got up on my feet. Once I was on my feet I saw that I was in my den.
I look to see Kate crying her eyes out in my den I wanted to hug her but I felt sad knowing I can't "Well you can but she will only feel the wind" God said
"Huh?" I questioned
"You can hug her but she will only feel the wind. Not that she will know it was you." God said
I turned my head towards Kate and I started to walk towards her. I felt like I was actually back with her. As I drew closer she picked up her head "I'm so sorry Humphrey" she sobs "I never meant anything I said to you. I… I was so angry" Kate then went back to crying
My heart broke a little at every word. I wanted to be there to hold her and comfort her. Then I saw someone who I wanted to rip his throat out. He was their but he was different he had tears in his own eyes. 'What is this' I thought as he laid down and started to cry. He was really crying. This was something new
"What the hell is Blake doing?!" I yelled
"He has broke from Diablo he wants to help you and your friends to defeat Diablo but they need you" God said
"But Jackie is being a complete asshole" I said
"I know but he is the only thing that can bring you back you understand that right"
"Yeah" I said downtrodden "damn him"
Then Humphrey thought of Diablo. The image changed from looking at Kate to Diablo and Nikki looking over the western and savoring the death of Humphrey with a cup of caribou blood (same equivalent to a tequila)
"I will kill you" I said in a calm rage wanting him dead
Diablo looked straight at us and said "Ahh Nikki did you always look that hot"
We heard her giggle I turned and puked narrowly missing God as I saw Nikki wearing the skin of a freshly dead northern wolf of her pack. Blood still dripped from it and was all over Nikki like she bathed in it her white fur now red with the sticky crimson substance. "DAMN YOU DIABLO!"
I instantly calmed as I thought of Kate remembering her was the only that could bring some happiness to my heart.
"Calm down my child. You will have your revenge in due time. When you are ready to face him." God said with a soothing, calm voice.
"I know" I said in anger "Wait I'm not ready?"
"No you are not. Until you understand the power that you were given by both Diablo and by Jackie. You will never be able to defeat Diablo" God explained to me
"When will I know if I'm ready or not?" I asked
"That answer depends on you my child" God said. Then the image then went to black and I didn't know what was happening
"God?" I called out. I got no answer. A manic laugh filled the chamber then suddenly cut out then like a flash all I saw was light "What the fuck is going on!"
"Your mind can't comprehend anything" yelled a voice "Your brain is fighting itself making this place go crazy! Stop thinking or we may wind up hurt or worse."
I thought of one place where I used to go as a pup. I saw the clear lake and the beautiful flowers that grew. It was how I remembered it but what surprised me was a white wolf that was crying near the pond. I walked towards her and saw it was Lilly. She took something and watched it float down the river
"Goodbye Humphrey at least we had some fun" she said while I saw her thoughts of us playing around and acting like wild animals, her comforting me when I heard that Kate was leaving for Alpha school, then her happiness when I heard of Kate's return and finally came out of my den I smiled as I also remembered those times of happiness and sadness. Then I remembered log sledding with her. Man she was so scared. We all laughed at the end.
This caused me to chuckle she turned as if looking for me. I looked around to see if God was near "God can she hear me?"
"Humphrey?" She turned and looked at me I looked behind to see her looking at me
"What the hell?" I thought. She ran up and tried to hug me but she just went through me "Wait you can see me?"
"Yes? Is that wrong?" she asked forgetting that she went through my body and hit the ground
"I don't know. God?" I said as I look around for
"Hmm... it seems that omegas can see you but none of the alphas can" God explained but he wasn't with me. His voice was projected through the atmosphere.
"You ok Lilly?" I asked
"Yeah I'm fine" she said as she stood up off the ground
"How's everything going?" I asked wondering how everyone is holding up
"Its been pretty depressing since your death. Some of our wolves were thinking that we would lose this war." She said
This wasn't good news to me at all. I was scared to ask the next question but I had to know "How's Lone?"
"He's been a little distant from the pack. He would stay in the woods and have anger outbursts. Knocking over trees and destroying boulders." Lilly said
"So I guess he's taking it pretty bad huh"
"Yeah but at least he hasn't destroyed the pack"
"I guess that's good" I said
"Yeah but Kate and I are working on a plan for the war with our dad" she said
"What is it?" I asked out of curiosity
"Well… The wolves that were turned into werewolves have trained with Lone and Menendez and are now they are fully trained fighters. The ones that haven't are now trained killing machines. The plan is that we send the werewolves to the battlegrounds and once they keep Diablo's wolves busy long enough, our non werewolves will come in to provide support and medical treatment." Lilly explained.
I didn't like the idea of it but it was the only thing we have to go against Diablo and his forces for now. "You sure you're ready for this Lilly?"
"Yeah I'm ready. What about you?" She asked
"Yes I am. I will let Jackie use his power to help us and to do that I must give him some control." I told her and them I looked up at the sky "God I think it's time I made a deal with my demon"
In a flash everything went all white. Then I see God walking towards me "It's time to see if you know how to use your gift wisely." He said "What have you learned?"
"I learned that not all evil is incurable. I learned revenge will only lead to one's demise. Revenge makes even the clearest vision blur. Finally "With great power comes great responsibility" (Spiderman 1, 2, and 3 Peter Parker/ Peter's Uncle)
"Very good my child. You are ready to fight Diablo. Now it is time to make your deal with your demon." God told me and a little portal opened behind him showing where he was at.
"Thank you for everything God" I said as I walked towards the portal.
"No… Thank you Humphrey for doing these things that other wolves couldn't have done" he said and I jumped in the portal to confront Jackie
When I came out of the portal Jackie gained a considerable crowd just watching him jump and reappear. The pups were laughing at him. I smiled as they were too cute. I walked to Jackie and motion the pups to back up a bit. He fell in front of me as he again, attempted to go to hell. "Fucking shit!" He yelled in anger
"How long have you been doing this?"
"Since you left I've been doing this" he snarled at me
"Hey! Calm the fuck down alright!" I snarled back "I have a deal for you" Every wolf around me looked at us. Wondering what I had planned
He looked at me with a smile "Well what is it?"
"You take me back to the fight and you get to use my body in the fight" I said emotionless
"And after the fight?" He said with a grin
"What about it?" I asked with a little fear of what he wanted
"After the war, win or lose I get to be free" he said with an evil smile on his face. I was afraid that he would say that. But I also was prepared for it. Everyone around us gasped. I looked back at my sister and mother and they had worried looks on their faces. "Well... do we have a deal?" I turn back and looked at him coldly.
"Deal"
