Chapter XVI: Sand and Leaf: The Battle for Chunin

As Sasuke and Gaara looked at each other, Genma could easily sense the tension between both combatants as he stepped back in order to allow the combatants to continue fighting. Furthermore, Sasuke was dressed In a black one-piece version of his original outfit with small arm-belts adorning his left arm and around his legs. Sasuke smirked at gaara since he was ready to kick the sand-nin's ass once and for all. Unfortunately, he could see that the kazekage above him wasn't the real kazekage at all since he was certain that orochimaru is planning something big here. As he turned to look at Gaara, who uncorked his gourd to allow sand to filter out, he grabbed his head in pain while talking to himself. Sasuke just shrugged and charged towards his opponent, but he was backed away by a wall of sand.
Sasuke then paused to take a deep breath.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" shouted Sasuke as a large ball of flame engulfed around gaara. However, the fire was snuffed out by Gaara's sand and sasuke had that expression again. Soon, Gaara fired several bullets at an incredible speed. Sasuke then activated his sharingan and moved away at an incredible speed while utilizing the copied technique of Rock Lee. As Sasuke tried to get at Gaara gain, gaara used the sand to stop him in his tracks. So now, it was time for Sasuke to figure out the weak point in Gaara's defense.
"You've taught him well, my beloved rival." Said Gai. "At his rate of speed, he should be able to keep up with Gaara's sand. Is this all that you have taught him?"
"Yeah, I didn't want to show him anything dangerous since he could easily harm his teammates after using Chidori. Furthermore, he doesn't deserve anymore training after the stunt he pulled.
"Don't give up on him just het Kakashi, Perhaps there is a light that can cure the darkness." Said Gai. Kakashi just shrugged it off and continued to watch the match. Just then, Naruto, Shino, Shikamaru and the two Sand nins came running into the stands and approached Kakashi.
"Kakashi-sensei!" exclaimed Naruto.
"Naruto, congrats on your victory against Neji,." Said kakashi.
"Thanks, but we got more pressing concerns. You need to stop the match right now! I feel that this place is about to be under attack." Said Naruto.
"What do you mean? You are thinking Orochimaru is somewhere in the stadium?" asked kakashi.
"Exactly, that's why we have seen that psycho shinobi killing the two Kusa nin in cold blood. He didn't even have remorse in his eyes. We have to stop the match or else Sasuke could due." Said Naruto. Kakashi looked at them while rubbing his temples.
"We understand your frustration, guys. But Sasuke will give up eventually. Besides, the only sharingan users that are here are me, Sasuke, you, and Itachi. Furthermore, all I've really taught him was how to avoid the sand. Besides, he doesn't have the kind of stamina like you do Naruto so he will eventually get tired soon."
"I think Gaara might just kill him for the fun of it." Replied Naruto.
"Don't worry, I will step in if it gets too serious." Said Kakashi.
"Kakashi you said you only taught Sasuke speed right? Oh you are not going to look good to like this one." Said Gaid.
As Sasuke took one last look at Gaara from his spot on the wall, he has that expression of frustration and anger on his face. Furthermore, no attack is working against him even at his speed. Furthermore, Sasuke couldn't get through Gaara's defenses while cursing at kakashi's attitude and his lack of thought because it was the one-eyed jonin's fault for not prepping him to face gaara sooner. Sasuke promised himself that he would make kakashi's life a living nightmare after what he did to him during this month. He watched as Gaara waited for him to make a move because this distance alone will help him create a new jutsu. If there was something that Sasuke was thankful for, it would be this new attack since he would have a strong tool in his quest for vengeance and it was time to show it now.
By unbuckling the arm belts, Sasuke readied himself as he made his seals that he copued from kakashi. He then held his palm down and focused on his chakra. Soon, he could hear a screeching sound throughout the whole stadium as lightning appeared from his hand, causing a crater to be created on the wall. At that moment, Sasuke had a sinister grin on his face as the sharingan spun wildly from his eyes.
Gai was seething with anger as he watched the one eyed jounin and wanted to beat the living daylights out of him while Naruto and the others took a step back in order to avoid getting caught in the middle. Soon, the blonde went up to Genma and whispered in his ear telling him to signal the counterattack once an explosion erupts. Once that was done, he walked over next to the sand jounin and said, "Such a pity to see that orochimaru has gotten your village involved in this war, the impersonator of the Kazekage will pay for all the lives he took away. But I will not let him harm my grandfather figure. Are you ready?"
"How typical of you, brat. And here I thought that we were ordered to wipe out your village. But, it seems that we are being manipulated by the Sound village. My men are stationed all around Konoha and will attack when the signal is given. But still, for a young genin like you, do you have what it takes to save everyone?" asked Baki.
"We shall see, but for now we need to get gaara out of here before he harms my teammate." Said Naruto as he disappeared from view and returned to the arena next to Genma.
"He's fast and quick to think on his feet. Maybe my village really did underestimate him." Thought Baki to himself.
"Chidori!" roared Sasuke. Gaara's sand automatically came up to protect him, but Sasuke's attack pierced the sand wall and right onto Gaara's shoulder. His surprise was increasing when the pain started going through his body while Sasuke grinned like crazy as his attack landed again with high voltage, shocking Gaara. Even Temari and Kankuro were shocked that the raven haired kid could do something that devastating. As they tried to help gaara, Baki stopped them and said, "Let Sasuke and Naruto take care of this, and there is not much we can do but surrender to the leaf because the Hokage would not want his alliance with us severed."
"But sir…" began Temari.
"No buts, we are here to assist the leaf on this dangerous mission." Replied Baki as he armed himself with his kunai knife ready to attack.
Temari and Kankuro shrugged as they got ready for their orders.
Back in the battle, Gaara was screaming in pain as his mind was processing what was happening once sasuke removed his shoulder and jumped back a few feet. Gaara immediately dropped to his knees and held his shoulder. He then noticed something wet and sticky coming out of his head.
"What is this… Is that my blood? It is my blood? THIS IS MY BLOOD!" roared Gaara. "You are going to pai for that, Uchiha Sasuke!" He then whipped his sand wildly around the arena and smashed everything in sight. His gourd also broke apart and surrounded Gaara's shoulder as he continued screaming. Luckily, sand was wrapping around Gaara like a cocoon before a low growl replaced gaara.
"What the hell are you?" asked Sasuke.
"That right there, Uchiha, is the devil incarnate of Gaara. His ultimate weapon, the one tailed Shukaku. Although it hasn't yet fully manifested, he will not rest until one of you guys becomes his next victim." Said Temari.
"So, he is just like Naruto, eh? Well, this fight won't last much longer when I finish him off." Said Sasuke.
"You made me feel pain! Now you shall suffer my wrath!" roared Gaara as he charged at Sasuke with full speed. Sasuke wasn't fast enough to dodge and was struck with gaara's claw. Sasuke was shouting in pain as the claws scratched him. He then snapped out of his shock and dodged another strike as Naruto prepared to move in. Then, gaara reared his arm back across his body and said, "Sand Shuriken!" Sasuke watched as several spinning projectiles came towards him and struck the boy several times, causing him to tumble across the ground. Naruto was in shock as he dashed towards the stadium while dodging Gaara's claw. Unfortunately for Sasuke, he was slammed to the ground with such force that he was lifted up into the air again.
The crowd was watching in horror as Gaara continued to brutalize Sasuke. Some were shouting for the referee to stop the match. But just as Kakashi was about to intervene, Naruto unleashed a bunch of shadow clones as he punched Gaara straight into the air, causing him to release the claw from Sasuke's body. Genma was watching with interest with kakashi joining him.
"All right, I have had enough of you attacking my teammate. It is time you and I settled things here once and for all!" shouted Naruto as he continued attacking gaara with punches and shurikens. He landed a few blows onto Gaara's face, but somehow, he was pushed back.
"Naruto! You can't take that red menace on all by yourself! You are no match for him!" said Sasuke as he struggled to get up after that last brutal assault.
"Rest easy, Sasuke. I got this. I can't let him kill you now, can I?" smiled Naruto.
Sasuke stared at his teammate in awe and was trying to join in the fight, but was stopped by kakashi.
"You've done enough for today, Sasuke. Let naruto handle the rest." Replied Kakashi.
"he's right! Sasuke can't take much more of this so you already won!" added Genma
"I am not done! He will die today!" shouted Gaara as he tried to charge towards Sasuke again, but Naruto immediately charged forward with his fireball, causing Gaara's claw to melt and return back to his body. Gaara immediately checked to see who did that to him and to his surprise, he could see Naruto standing right in front of him.
"You!" Roared Gaara as he pointed his finger at the blonde. Everyone turned to see Naruto standing there with shocked expressions.
"You are lucky that I didn't burn your ass to the ground with my fireball." Muttered Naruto. You want to fight Gaara? I will defeat you here and now! But before I do, I need to deal with a certain imposter." He then turned towards the Hokage box and shouted, "Hey Snake-Teme! Isn't it about time you showed your ass down here? I know you are not the real kazekage, but you certainly did a fine job of killing the real one. I have to admit, I never liked that crotchety old windbag anyway. So , did your ugly ass of a mother gave your face a complete makeover?" hahahahahahaha!"
The stadium was deathly silent as Temari and Kankuro snickered like crazy while the whole crowd laughed at his antics.
Soon, the fake Kazekage was seething with anger at what just happened. "You little shit! How dare you mock me like that? You will suffer dearly for that! Sound Four! Set up the barrier and begin the invasion!" shouted Orochimaru as he removed his robes and took a step behind the old man and held him at knife point.
Soon, everyone could see the sound shinobi surrounding them as Sakura and the other rushed out of their seats and took action to fight them off while naruto dispelled his clones in order to launch a genjutsu to put everyone to sleep.
Just then Gai stepped in and had to duck at every enemy ninja coming at him while sand shinobi moved in to repel the enemy outside of Konoha. Elsewhere, iruka and the others watched the battle and realized that something bad was happening. He then stood up and said, "all right kids, we have an emergency situation here. We need all of you to take shelter immediately!"
"Yes Iruka Sensei!" shouted the kids as they all assembled out of the ninja academy with escorts from the leaf and sand Shinobi. "Naruto, I hope you are all right, please do your best to save those precious to you." Thought Iruka.
Back at the stadium grounds, all the leaf and sand shinobi banded together to hold the enemy back, but soon, a wave of snakes arrived, causing huge damage to the Konoha walls and leaving many shinobi injured. Some of the snakes even chewed up some sand shinobi, killing them instantly, but Baki and the others have a backup plan of their own.
Meanwhile, Asuma and Kurenai did their best to fend off the sound shinobi trying to attack Sakura, Ino and Choji as they ducked enemy after enemy, Finally, Choji and Ino called their family techinques as they both barreled their way into the grounds, crushing any foes that stands in their way after the genjutsu was undone.
"What the hell happened? How long have we been out?" asked Kiba. He then noticed the fight going on and the Hokage taken hostage.
"What is g-going on?" asked Hinata.
"Okay, I am going to be quick about this. We are under attack by orochimaru and the sound forces. The sand has been manipulated by the sound forces and therefore, every chunin and jonin are needed to help. Luckily, naruto and Sasuke are holding gaara off right now so I need you guys to complete an A-Rank assignment for me. Do you understand?" said kakashi as he took out a kunai and made a cut on his finger, drawing blood.
They got no answer but nods as they became serious about this. Kakashi then made a few hand signs and said, "Kychiouse no jutsu!" he then slammed his palms on the ground as a puff of smoke appeared and out came a little pug named Pakkun, one of kakashi's ninken.
"hey kakashi, what's going on?" asked the pug.
"No time to explain, pakkun. I need you to take Sasuke and the others to the shelter so that he can get medical treatment. Tenten, you will be the team leader and Kiba will be the second in command." Said kakashi.
"Sounds like a dangerous mission, but there is no time for us to waste. Let's go!" said Pakkun as he dashed off towards the shelter with Kiba and the others following close behind him.
"Shino, Shikamaru!" called Kakashi. Shino immediately appeared next to him but Shikamaru was still as lazy as ever and approached the one-eyed Jonin with a "troublesome" mutter "I need you guys to stay here and back naruto up. I have a feeling that Temari and Kankuro are sensing that their sibling might unleash his killer beast."
"What about Naruto? He is the one fighting Orochimaru and gaara at the same time!" exclaimed Ino.
"Don't worry about him. He can handle it." Said Kakashi confidently.
"Master kakashi is right. Naruto is well prepared to be a chunin so I am sure we will be back in time to see his amazing technique in no time." Replied Pakkun
"I see. Okay then let's move out." Said Tenten. And with that, the young shinobis disappeared from the stadium.
"Can you track the movements of Gaara's beast, Shino?" asked Kakashi.
"I placed a bug on him before he rushed in to help. I have the scent now." Replied Shino.
"Shikamaru, I need you to take your girlfriend to the interrogation headquarters and lock her up. She is the daughter of the Kazekage and she is well aware of what happened to her father. She is also an important part of negotiations with our village later so keep her alive at all costs." Said Naruto.
"How troublesome, who put you in charge here anyway?" asked Shikamaru.
"I have to thank Kakashi and the Hokage for that. Now get a move on and make sure to capture the paint faced clown with a puppet on his back. He is also needed here as well because we cannot let them get pinned down by the Sound Shinobi." Said naruto as he faced Gaara yet again while his clones surrounded Temari and Kankuro by chopping them and using his genjutsu on them.
"Looks like you must have paid a visit to Inoichi already. You know what you're doing right?" asked Genma.
"Yup, and I am certain that everyone else has their orders already." Replied Naruto as he whistled for Neji to stand next to him.
"Be careful of Gaara, there is something off about him." Replied Genma
"I will take care of it." Said naruto as he walked over to Gaara while Kakashi asked Gai to make a hole at the stadium entrance. Once the hole was made, Choji grabbed Sasuke while Kurenai used her genjutsi on the incoming sound troops, thereby knocking them out in an instant, giving Sakura and the others time to escape.
Unfortunately, a kunai was flung at them. Soon, they could see a disguised Kabuto and he could ehar the conversations. He also lost sight of the other sound troops once the genjutsu was set. He cursed that his forces were failing, but smiled when sakura left the stadium.
"Bring something that belongs to Lord Orochimaru, that girl will lead you to him. Kill anyone that gets in the way." Ordered Kabuto.
Back at the stadium, naruto readied himself with a couple of explosives while dodging another volley of sand that ripped through the stadium. Gaara is persistent when it comes to fighting, but now he has transformed into something that is not human. He was still worried about the Hokage and Orochimaru fighting above him and leading the crazed genins away from danger. So now, it was time for Naruto to stop running and fight.
Naruto used his illusion dance and got close to gaara before taking out chains to bind him, but he was hit with a series of clotheslines and was thrown clearly to the ground. Naruto then summoned several clones that followed Gaara and landed on his body in order to prevent him from moving around so much. Gaara tried his best to fend them off, but Naruto immediately made a few hand signs and called out his signature technique, "Fire style: fireball jutsu!" A huge explosion was heard throughout the stadium as the Hokage looked from below.
"What are you doing, Sarutobi-sensei? Your opponent is over here!" said Orochimaru.
"So, it seems that you are here to kill me? How sad. I could never imagine you to impersonate one of my close friends while manipulating another village to achieve your goal." Smirked the Hokage.
"That old windbag was weak and frail. I had no other choice but to kill him and his escorts. Besides, you and I have some unfinished business." continued Orochimaru.
"Rest assured, you will never get away with what you're planning. I will do whatever it takes to protect my village." Said the Hokage as he removed his robes and revealed his battle armor before charging towards his former student.
Naruto was on the defensive as he continued using his sharingan and his illusion dance to escape, he then called out more clones to keep his opponent distracted. Soon, Gaara was sucking all the air through various mouths from his body.
"Wind Style: sand devastation! Shouted Gaara as he blew out a sandstorm at naruto and his clones dispelled in an instant. Gaara then ended his technique and laughed at his opponent.
"Is that all you got, Uzumaki?" gaara mocked.
"Earth style: Mud wall!" Naruto shouted again. This time, Gaara was dragged onto the ground with his head showing before he popped out and charged towards him. He then wrapped the chains around gaara's body and binded his arms in order to prevent him from escaping. He then placed a series of explosive tags on Gaara's body causing a massive boom to be heard. Once the smoke cleared, Gaara stepped out of the ground and his body started to regenerate again with the chains coming loose.
"This is fun, Uzumaki, you are going to be the one to prove my existence. Show me what you got!" roard Gaara.
"This is bad, I need some back up. He then summoned a series of clones again and sent a few of them to break the barrier down in order to assist the Hokage in his battle since facing off against two enemies would prove too much for the blonde to handle.
Some distance away, Shino and Shikamaru were carrying their opponents away towards the headquarters. But once they got there, both sand siblings woke up and saw that they were not in the stadium anymore. They then stood up and said, "Please let us see Gaara, he needs our help.
"Sorry, Temari. But I am afraid that if you get any closer to your brother, he will surely kill you. I think its best if you let Naruto handle this. He has been known to make friends with people from other villages so I am sure he has a way to calm your brother down." Said Shikamaru.
"I see. And I am supposed to take orders from you?" said a dead-panned temari.
"you are so troublesome. I am taking you to the interrogation headquarters to keep you safe from harm's way. I am not here to fight you because I find that fighting girls isn't good for my image." Replied Shikamaru.
"You are such a coward, you know that? I guess I will have to knock some sense into you once this is over." Laughed Temari.
As for Shino and kankuro they just looked at each other with dismay since both are eager to fight each other, but right now they are in a dire situation with the Sound Shinobi here. Kankuro immediately took out his puppet and tried to charge at Shino's insects, but Shino immediately dodged and said, "Do you really want to fight me? We are supposed to be allies."
"I know that, but since you decided not to battle me at the stadium earlier, this match should make up for lost time." Replied Kankuro as he released the crow puppet while Shino called out his parasitic destruction insects. Both of them went into hiding since their weapons are filled with poison. Both genins would not back down since they all want to make sure their comrades would be safe.
"I hate doing this to a comrade of another village, but I am not here to fight you." said Shino as he continued to unleash his killer bugs.
"I know, but me and Temari are here for Gaara only. The village business is your problem, not mine." replied Kankuro.
Back in the shelter, Sasuke fought off the guards that stood in his way while Sakura and the others did their best to clear a path leading to the medical center. Once that was done, Tenten and Kiba were doing their best to avoid any battles that were going on. Ino was doing her best to check on Sasuke who was unconscious while Choji carried him as carefully as he could. Just then, Kiba sensed something and ordered everyone to stop.
"What is it Kiba?" aske tenten. Kiba looked at Akamaru who barked at him before turning back to the guys.
"We're being followed by someone and we know who it is." Said kiba with annoyance.
'What are you doing here Sakura?" asked Ino.
"I came to make sure Sasuke-kun was okay." Said Sakura.,
"Are you kidding me? You left the stadium just to check on your girlfriend?" hissed Tenten.
"He was not safe in your hands so I am the person that can keep an eye on him!" shouted Sakura.
"Keep your voice down, we are in a middle of a war right now." Spat Ino.
"Were you being followed, Sakura?" asked Pakkun
"No, I wasn't. However, I think there are nine shinobi coming after us." Replied Sakura.
"We have to get moving now." Said Chouji with urgency.
"Be careful, choji." Said Sakura.
"You're in no position to make demands. Thanks to you, we are now being followed." Everyone looked at Kiba with surprise.
"I made sure I wasn't followed and I-I am trying to set a good example here." Stammered Sakura.
"Well, you did a very poor job here. Those bastards must have followed you here from the stadium." Continued Kiba.
"Damn it, How long do we have before they catch up to us?" asked Tenten.
"They know that we have been discovered and are closing in on us right now. The scent is getting stronger now.
"Shall we take them all on?" suggested Sakura.
"Are you kidding me? You expect us four to take on the nine of them? You call yourself a top kunoichi? They are going to outnumber us! Listen here, Haruno, keep your mouth shut because we need clear thinkers and not some fan-girl that nearly got her crush killed. Just keep moving without saying anything else." Hissed Tenten. Sakura stared at Tenten indignantly and continued moving.
"Wait, isn't that Naruto's playground?" asked Kiba.
"Holy crap I forgot about that place. And from the smell, there could be a shelter need there." Said Choji.
"naruto's playground?" asked Ino
"This is where Naruto led some bullies into his traps. He also peed on one of them after the guy fell into the pit.
"Do you know the way around the traps?" asked Tenten.
"Yeah, and we can use our clones to lead the enemy into the traps." Added Ino.
"Not a bad decision. Okay then, Kiba and Akamaru take us to the safe zone. Choji, I need you to take some clones of yourself and of sasuke to set up the traps." Ordered Tenten.
Naruto continued to land blow after blow on Gaara making him take a step back, but he was hit with various air blades thanks to the clones. Unfortunately for him, Gaara dispelled his clones again with his sand devastation and left him fatigued.
"I actually enjoyed those blows, you are making this match more fun." Said Gaara with a grin.
"I am happy you are amused, but I need to help the Hokage now." Said naruto.
"you should focus on what is going on in front of you because you won't be seeing the hokage alive today. I will be the one to kill you here right now." Said Gaara.
"Yeah, but you haven't fulfilled that promise. I am concerned about my grandfather and my friends, which is something that you don't know about.
"what do you know about friends anyway? You are here to judge my humanity when I had no one to help me and you had people to help you. Some hypocrite you are!" shouted Gaara.
"You know nothing about my poor childhood life. I had to work hard to gain friends and sure, it was hard, but I never gave up. You didn't give up either, did you?" shouted Naruto.
"SHUT UP! STOP SPEWING SUCH NONSENSE! YOU ARE GOING TO BE WITNESSING THE DEATH OF SOMEONE YOU TRULY CARE FOR!" said Gaara as he pointed at the Hokage.
"He is right, Uzumaki! Don't worry, I will be sure to send your grandfather to a better place where the sun don't shine." Smirked Orochimaru evilly.
"you dare lay a finger on my grandfather, and I will personally end your life right here!" shouted naruto towards the snake.
"Don't listen to them, Naruto! Just focus on gaara and don't worry about me! I can easily take care of this traitor here." Said Sarutobi.
"you are getting too old for this. You should just let me take over the battle for you! In fact, I wil take your hat right now!" called naruto.
"There is no way you can get inside the barrier!" replied the Hokage.
"Oh really? You haven't seen the new me yet." Said Naruto as he bit on his thumb and drew blood. He then made a few hand signs and called out Gamabunta.
Once the smoke cleared, Gamabunta surveyed the scene and looked at the kid, "What the? Not you again, where am I?" said the giant Toad.
"I know I called you here at a bad time, chief toad, but I really could use your help." Said Naruto.
"I refuse!" said the Toad as he laid himself down o the ground and took out a bottle of sake.
"This is no time for you to drink beer now! We are in a middle of an emergency and my grandfather is in danger!" shouted naruto. Soon, he could feel something land on his head as he jumped up and down while shaking it off.
"Why does trouble always follow you around? You think I am here to fight? NO! I am here to enjoy some action. However, I will help you on one condition if you share a drink with me."
"That is not going to happen! I am too young to drink. Right now, you are looking at the One-tailed Shukaku, the monster that is inhabiting inside of Gaara. We need to take him out. After this battle is over, I promise, I will share drinks with you." Said naruto.
The toad looked at the blonde for a moment and sighed. He knew that the kid would not take no for an answer and sighed. "All right, you got yourself a deal, but you owe me a big drink with the Hokage once this is over." He then turned his attention towards the monster and noticed that Gaara was deep in a trance at the top of the monster's head. "So, Gaara is a demon eh? That monster is possessing him and causing him to not think straight."
"Yup, that's the monster all right. I am even having trouble binding Gaara since the monster is getting in the way.
"I have a plan, but I need you to spew out fire. Do you have anymore chakra left?"
"I believe so, but I think someone else is here to assist me." Said naruto as he turned around to find Haku and Zabuza standing next to him.
"Sorry we are late, but it seems that there is a party going on here. And don't worry, I think we can take of raccoon face over there," said Zabuza.
"You guys are right on time!" smiled Naruto. "I am trying to get my suppression seal onto Gaara's forehead but he keeps pushing me back."
"I got this. Naruto are you ready?"
"Yes, get me up there, Haku.
"Secret Jutsu: Demonic Ice Crystal Mirrors!" shouted Haku as they both stepped into the mirror and up within the barrier where the Hokage was fighting his ex-student and then hopped onto the rooftop before making a few punches at Gaara's head.
"You need to go to sleep now, Gaara!" shouted Naruto. "Gamabunta, launch the mud out!"
"Fire style, Toad flame bombs!" Shouted Gamabunta as he and Naruto combined their attacks directly onto the Racoon before he hopped onto gaara and threw a few punches onto him while tying up the chakra chains and dragging them both closer to him.
"Let me go! I will kill you here and now!" screamed Gaara as he got closer to the blonde shinobi.
"Sealing Jutsu: Demonic Suppression Seal!" Shouted Naruto as he slapped a seal on Gaara's forehead and rendered his screams useless before he fell unconscious. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Soon a clone appeared next to him. "Now that he has been knocked out, take gaara to Anbu headquarters, they'll know what to do with him.
"You got it boss!" said the Clone as he picked up gaara and slinging him over his shoulder while disappearing at high speed.
Naruto then took a look around the stadium and could see that the Sand ninjas were actually fighting off the Sound that are infiltrating the stadium. He then looked at the Hokage's battle and could see him exhausted with Enma at his side. Thinking quickly, he knows that Orochimaru must have summoned out the First and the Second Hokage with his impure world resurrection since this is the jutsu that can be used to send his own sensei into a world of darkness.
"Enma, transform into the adamantine Staff! Don't let him transform and ill the Hokages!"
Naruto shot himself off the wall and launched his sharingan again. He then aimed a rasengan at the barrier and went through without a hitch. Once inside, he could see the harshirama and Tobirama Senju right in front of him. "Ninja art: Tsukoyomi!" He then unleashed a dimensional world and grabbed his weapons and started slicing both Hokages like crazy, leaving them unable to fight back. "Wind style: Air cutter!" he said as a blade of wind came out of his sword, thereby cutting the first Hokage in half.
He then engaged the Tobimora senju, but he was already down on the ground thanks to the Hokage twirling his staff around. He then saw the blonde inside.
"How did you get inside the barrier?" asked Sarutobi.
"A friend dropped me off here. I couldn't watch you die here." He said before turning his attention towards Orochimaru.
"Damn that brat! He should not have been able to withstand my barrier like that, I am almost out of chakra here and I should have dealt with that brat from the beginning. Soon, I will be out of chakra to supply the first and the second hokage. This jutsu seems to have a lot of disadvantages here than I had originally thought.
"Jiji, I need you to distract Orochimaru and have him come towards you. When you see an opening, just keep fighting." Said Naruto as he replenished his body with two soldier pills.
"Naruto, this is dangerous, you should not have come in here! You can't take on orochimaru by yourself!" said the Hokage.
"I am the son of the fourth Hokage, I have various attacks that can be useful in emergency situations like this." Smiled Naruto as he turned towards the snake bastard. "So, I see you were not nominated for the Hokage position because of the dangerous experiments you had done on little kids."
"Well, well, you must be that bratty jinchuuriki that the Akatsuki are after. What a surprise to see you still alive. But you are right, your father stole the title away from me and I wanted it back!" hissed Orochimaru.
"Oh cry me a river, will you? You were not fit to be Hokage anyway because we consider you a dangerous criminal. What's the matter, you didn't get enough sake as a child?"
"I see that you were talking with Jiraiya. I will see to it that you both can die here today." Continued Orochimaru as he wrapped his snakes around the boy, but he somehow disappeared and said, "Erath style, Lion's barrage!" He then dodged the incoming attacks and countered with a knee to the chin of Hashirama and Tobimura. Sarutobi saw an opening and used enma's adamantine to absorb the kick
Naruto then activated his tsukoyomi again and grabbed the Kusanagi sword that was aiming at Sarutobi's back. Then he headed over towards Orochimaru as the kid punched the man's face repeatedly, causing him to shriek in pain. "I see you have been learning the techniques from kakashi and Sasuke. You are a very interesting person, Naruto-kun.
"If you want to see something interesting, check this out." Naruto said as he fired off lightning charges through the sword and aimed it at Orochimaru's arms. Soon, huge electrical shockwaves appeared from the sword, causing the Hokages to pause in their attacks.
"ZZZZZZZZZZZSSSTTTTTT!"
"AHHHHH!" screamed Orochimaru as he saw his arms turning into nothing but dead skin.
"How do you like me now, you slimy bastard. I just rendered your arms useless and thus, you will not be able to perform any jutsus." Smiled naruto as he slowly picked up the sword and slowly melted the arms away. "What the hell did you do to my arms!? Shouted Orochimaru.
"This is for Anko and Sasuke! I told you that you would pay for harming my friends with your curse mark. You already know the kyuubi is inside of me." Said naruto.
"So what? You don't scare me. Now give me back my arms!" sneered Orochimaru.
"I am not trying to scare you. This is a method of torture I used on you and thus, you will need a medical Justus to heal those arms. As for me, I have raw chakra that heals my injuries. But there is a small side effect to that. The kyuubi's chakra is poisonous to anyone because my raw chakra is mixed with a very small amount of kyuubi's chakra, thereby making it unusable for medical jutsu. Even small bits of this chakra can do a lot of damage."
Naruto then pressed the sword onto Orochimaru's severed arms, causing him to scream out in pain again as he staggered back from the seering pain.
"What sort of jutsu did you use on me?" snarled Orochimaru.
"Your arms burns, doesn't it? I transferred some of kyuubi's chakra onto your sword and destroyed your chakra coils inside your arms. Your muscles and blood vessels are also rendered useless as well so that way, you can't perform any other attacks." Smirked naruto as he fell to the ground after using so much chakra in his body.
Sarutobi immediately picked up the blonde and carried him over to the side before laying him down on the tree stump. "Thank you, Naruto-kun. Rest easy now, you have done well." Smiled the Hokage.
Orochimaru was shocked to see that his ambition and dreams were shattered by a genin after seeing his arms destroyed. There was no way that he would accept this. But even the pain on his body was too much for him to handle as retreating was the only option. For now, he would spare them. But Orochimaru would be back for revenge.
"You will pay dearly for this, Uzumaki Naruto. I swear that I will destroy your precious village next time around. You will die for sure when we meet again. Now, drop the barrier and retreat!" yelled Orochimaru. The four nins complied and dropped the barrier to help their leader to get away from the roof.
Sarutobi was impressed that his adoptive grandson fought hard to save the ones he loved, especially fighting a high level sannin and two former hokages. Furthermore, seeing a kid injuring a sannin like that was beyond anything that was expected from a kid. He then dispelled Enma and sat down next to the boy. He could see that the blonde was smiling at him.
"Hey, jiji. Looks like the battle is over now, right?"
"Yeah, we all survived thanks to you. I am sure that everyone is very proud of you for what you did here today." Said the Hokage as he laid down on his back and looked at the setting sun. Both would be certain that this battle would be talked about for ages to come.
Just then, the anbu arrived at the rooftop and asked, "Hokage-sama, do you need a medic?"
"We're fine, Anbu-san. Don't worry about us. Pleasse help the others in securing the village." Said the Hokage tiredly.
"Hai, it seems that our counterattack worked perfectly. The last of the enemy shinobi have finally surrendered and are being interrogated right now as we speak. It seems that Asuma has already helped out Tenten's team at the shelter area and the parents of the kids escorted Iruka and the academy students safely towards the Hokage monument." Said the Anbu.
"Good, I expec t the report to be on my desk in a few days." Said the Sandaime as he dismissed the Anbu. "Looks like you managed to save gaara from devastating an entire village."
"yeah, I certainly did. So what will happen to them now?" asked naruto.
"They will be fine, Gaara and his teammates will be treated with respect since they offered to help us fend off the Sound shinobi. We owe the sand village a lot of gratitude for their assistance." Smiled the Hokage.
Just then, naruto could hear two angry voices calling out to him.
"UZUMAKI NARUTO! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING TAKING ON OROCHIMARU LIKE THAT!?" shouted Anko as she jumped up onto the rooftop and hugged the blonde tightly with Ino following suit. He recognized his sister and returned the hug, but not before Ino bopped him on the head.
"Anko-nee chan, I can explain. I didn't mean to take him on like that but I couldn't watch jichan die at the hands of that snake bastard." Said Naruto as he tried to calm them down.
"Liar! Do you know what would have happened if we let you continue that battle further after you broke down that barrier? I swear if you pull that stunt like that again, I promise to let my father torture your mind for the next several weeks until your brain melts, am I clear, naruto!?" shouted Ino as she took a kunai close to his neck.
"Hai, ladies." Squeaked naruto as laughs could be heard from the crowd.
"is everyone else okay?" asked Naruto.
"Everyone is fine, don't worry. They all did a great job and you as well. We are all very proud of you." Smiled Anko.
"She's right. You really showed us what you were made of out there. I guess you really do have what it takes to be a chunin." Smiled kakashi.
"Thanks you guys. Now if you don't mind, I need to take a nap right now. I am sure Gamabunta would kill me if I don't give him a bottle of sake right away." Said Naruto.
"CHE! You should have thought of that a long time ago kid! But since you defeated Gaara and the sound shinobi, I will let you off with a slap on the wrist this time. Until then kid!" said Gamabunta as he disappeared in a puff of smoke. As for the village, there was a lot of damage done but Konoha itself survived the attack with careful planning and strategizing. The hokage was helped up and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Orochimaru was right, there are things that have to change to ensure that Konoha will stay up since it was a bit stagnant. But one day, the snake will be back to claim his prize and wipe out the village.
Author's notes: Boy that was a long chapter and it took me 15 pages to get everything into one. I wanted to ensure the third survives the war here n Konoha because killing him is a crippling blow to the village. I added the love scene in the end between Anko, naruto and Ino because this is a normal way for them to react after such a high tension battle. Everyone made it through with no serious injuries. The next chapter will be released on February 8th so I will see you all then.
