Chapter XVII: Aftermath
With the Konoha village in shambles, everone on the civilian council was getting restless after what happened inside the stadium. As for Sasuke, he was still in the hospital getting medical treatment while the Sand Siblings were inside the headquarters awaiting interrogation since Baki was being misled by the Sound Village into attacking Konoha in order to sever the alliance between the two villages.
Although the casualties weren't that high, the village did lose dozens of civilians and some shinobi. However Iruka and the rest survived by hiding in the Hokage monument since they were able to evacuate the kids from the danger below. At this rate, Konoha needs to step up security in order to protect itself from the next enemy assault.
Back in the tower, Sarutobi was glaring at the council. Yes, he was getting too old for this job.
"…so we can definitely conclude that Orochimaru ambushed the Kazekage, killed him and his escorts, before taking his place. My scouts and have discovered their bodies not far from our village. We were fools to think that we could trust that snake bastard. At this time, until Suna appoints a new kazekage, I am now being named as the ambassador with plenipotentiary powers to apologize to Konoha for the trouble caused here. We are still planning to seek a treaty with you guys." Finished Baki.
"Thank you, Ambassador Baki. Is there anything else you wanted to add?" continued Hiruzen. The counselors are still trying to work themselves up in order to finalize the treaty since they were nearly ready to give the Sand Village a lesson that they won't soon forget.
"Yes, the three children of our former Kazekage, I am fully aware that they are being interrogated right now at the headquarters. I wanted to extend my thanks to Uzumaki Naruto for modifying the seal on Gaara since he almost went beserk when he attacked Sasuke. Although this will resolve the problems that he is having because the Ichibi will only come out when Gaara will release it on its own recognizance."
"Once you guys return to Suna, the Sand Sibilings will follow you after they get pardoned." Said Hiruzen as he ignored the glares from the council members regarding those guys being kept as hostages. Baki then bowed in agreement.
"At the moment, naruto is busy keeping Gaara company in the Konoha Interrogation cell so I can say for certain that he seems to understand the pain that he is feeling right now. Although I can say for certain that naruto has a monster inside of him, he was being shunned just like Gaara was. Both of them can understand the feelings that they have since they both want to protect something that is precious to them. Unfortunately, both our villages have civilians that wants their blood spilled." Continued the Hokage.
Suddenly, shouts from the civilian council members could be heard calling for the execution of the demon while the Shinobis were trying their best not to pick them apart one by one since this is going to turn the Hokage's headache into migraine territory. This time, the Hokage let out a blast of killing intent in order to control order inside the room.
"Before this shouting match gets out of hand, let's just get to the meeting shall we? I will turn the floor over to Shikaku Nara since he was the one that wanted this to happen." Said the Hokage.
Shikaku Nara was Shikamaru's father and known for being a fine shinobi like his son, he was a brilliant strategist, but not always good at keeping up with housework. He was always clever to keep the secrets of the new found namikaze child away from the civilians since all they wanted to do was to get rid of that Demon Brat and it hasn't been putting his mind at ease.
"I know it's troublesome to call a meeting at a time like this, but with the chunin exams being cut short due to orochimaru's unprovoked assault on our village, it seems that the enemy had some fierce pockets of retaliation since they penetrated the outer walls of Konoha. And they had some pretty strong back up forces as well. However, I was glad that my son and the rest of our kids did the right thing to escape and set up traps for the enemy before more casualties could have occurred. Next time, we should probably beef up security here in Konoha in order to prepare for the next enemy assault."
"That's all fine and dandy, but our problem is the validity of the claim that the fourth Hokage having a son, let alone being the "demon brat" of Konoha!" sneered a merchant by the name of Han.
At that moment, the killing intent intensified from the shinobi side as the mere mention of naruto's name was said. They sneaked upon the merchant with their weapons and held him hostage while the civilian sweated like crazy as he tried to plead for mercy. He looked around to see if anyone else was affected and to his surprise, many of the other civvies were at the mercy of shinobis while the Anbu watched with interest. As the merchant looked back at the Hokage to ask what just happened, he was in disbelief. Never before had he seen such murderous intent on the council before.
"Before I respond to your inquiry, I would like to remind you that the law of naruto being a Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi is still in effect. If any of you continue to mention that, it is punishable by death. I will be allowed to give you this only warning as long as the law is enforced here in my village. If this happens again, I will have no choice but to execute you myself, is that clear?" asked Sarutobi coldly.
"Yes Lord Hokage, please forgive me for that slip-up." Stammerd the merchant.
"Thanks to naruto, we were warned about my ex-student orochimaru at his attempt of invading the village. Luckily, if that kid wasn't here, we would all have been dead right about now and the loss would be much worse. Instead, we only lost some civilians and there are a number of shinobis still injured. Also the outer wall and most of the homes are badly damaged so it's pretty superficial. You have that boy to thank for saving your lives in case you haven't noticed." Continued Sarutobi as he reached out from his kage robes and pulled out a folder before passing it to Koharu.
Koharu was most surprised at what she just saw in the folder as she turned to the Hokage, "What the hell is this?"
"That is the blood test done by a doctor at the hospital. Also the DNA test confirms that naruto is indeed the son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina uzumaki. There is no need to deny him of his rightful place within Konoha any longer." Finished Sarutobi.
Once the folder was passed around the table, everyone scrutinized the results while trying to find flaws while others are not at liberty to need any proof at all.
"So where the hell has that brat been all this time, Sarutobi? We were under the impression that he had disappeared all those years ago after Itachi massacred his family." Stated Danzo. This old warhawk was Hiruzen's rival in everything since he almost had a shot at being the third Hokage and he also had a nindo called, "he could never go too far for his village" and lived by that code. This dude also had the guts to sacrifice anything and anyone in order to attain his goal of having a military to dominate Konoha. He also has his Root Shinobi since those soldiers were taught to be completely loyal to Danzo and do anything to complete their mission. Although he did notice the absence of the Kyuubi vessel, he sent out his best root trackers to find him but did not have any clue as to where he had gone to. Yes, Danzo was warned to stay away from the boy.
"Ten years ago, I had offered my best shinobi to teach naruto how to defend himself from the constant attacks he had to suffer from because they had my trust. I also gave Jiraiya permission to train naruto away from the village for his own safety since he was not ready to take on high level shinobi at that time yet. Ever since the Itachi incident, I had to send that guy away to spy on the Akatsuki for his brother's sake and for the safety of that Kyuubi vessel since the leader of the Uchiha clan almost had his blood spilled." Said Sarutobi.
"Itachi Uchiha? You mean that jonin who graduated from the academy at a young age? Why were we not informed of this? As the council, we have the right to know!" protested Homura. This guy was also another one of Sarutobi's ex-teammates and an elder member of the council.
"You were not told because the sensitive information was leaked out into the general public!" growled Sarutobi.
"You should have informed us sooner because we are also here trying to protect konoha. Now, because of your recklessness, Orochimaru had caused us extensive damage and placed our lives at risk! You also jeopardized the safety of Sasuke's family by allowing his brother to slaughter the entire Uchiha clan in order to keep him pardoned. Is this really how you should protect a village? We trusted you and respected you!" shouted Sakura's mother.
"She's right, lord Hokage. We are all not here to protect Konoha because we have other things on our minds right now." Added Misa Tetsumiya, a head administrator for the civilian school in the village. "So, it should be mandatory that the brat be executed immediately."
Sarutobi immediately pounded the table in fury, causing the surface to crack and its foundations crumbling before resuming his rant, "let me tell you guys something very serious: this council was formed to be under the aide of me, the Hokage. I will take your suggestions under advisement and nothing more. This is my village and I will make decisions on how I see fit. Unless you all want to be stripped of your civilian statuses and risk being banished, I will overrule your decisions on executing my adoptive grandson." Said the Hokage coldly while making half of the civilian population gaping at him while the Shinobi half smirked at the shocked expressions.
As Sarutobi was about to continue his rant, he heard a knock at the chamber doors, "Enter!" he shouted.
As the double doors opened, naruto strolled in, followed by his teacher Kakashi. They both looked apathetic to their surroundings as they stepped in the center of the semi-circle wooden table surrounded by the shinobis and the civilian council.
"Naruto-kun, kakashi-kun, fancy of you guys showing up here unannounced, what can I help you guys with?" asked the Hokage.
"I was told to appear before the council as suggested by Izumo and Kotetsu, and to be charged for fighting a dangerous criminal." Naruto said simply.
"Troublesome, youa re not the only one summoned here, I was told to come here at the request of my father since I could also be facing charges of desertion." Sid Shiakmaru as he rubbed his temples.
"WHAT!?" growled the Hokage in between clenched teeth.
"You heard me according to the summons." Said naruto as he made a few hand signs before summoning out a scroll. "It says here that I am to be brought before the council for questioning and to face charges of running off after orochimaru without having backup. If I don't answer anything truthfully, I could risk being banished or executed."
"What do you mean? Let me see that scroll for a moment." Said the Hokage as he quickly read through the scroll word for word before turning his attention towards Naruto, "This trial really shouldn't even be happening when you are prepping to advance to the next rank just like Shikamaru."
"That's what I was thinking at first too. The judges were pretty impressed at how well I handled myself out there and they were planning to give me and Shikamaru the rank of chunin. However, the civilians are hell bent on stopping this from happening unless this trial goes through.
"I see, well it seems that the civilians have once again ignored my orders and went through this mess without my approval." Growled the Hokage as he eyed the civilian council sweating bullets at the killing intent leaking from the Hokage.
"Those charges were formally filed and voted on by the majority of the council." Said Danzo
"Like you wouldn't know that already, Danzo? I can easily see your signature along with my good friends Homura and Koharu." Added the Hokage. But his ex-students had the decency not to look Sarutobi in the eye after that.
"Well, let's just get this over with, I can't have more headaches from the council any longer."
"Just a moment, Lord Hokage. Kakashi, what are you doing here? You know you are not to be present in the council chambers unless you are summoned. This is getting even more troublesome by the minute." Said Shikaku, the jonin commander and father of Shikamaru as he lifted his head from the council table.
"Well, I ran into naruto at the hospital earlier after his battle against Orochimaru. So, I offered to be his representative and stand with him seeing as I was his jonin sensei for a while now." Said Kakashi nervously. Shikamaru on the other hand, sat down next to his father at the table hoping to catch some shut eye since he didn't want to get involved with whatever Naruto was dealing with right now.
"Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, you are charged with disobeying a direct order from your sensei and one count of desertion, plus one count of harboring a spy from Konoha. How do you plead?" said the Hokage as he rubbed his temples to recover from that massive headache he got earlier.
"Guilty and no contest." Said Naruto as he winked a huge grin on his face with a thumbs up pose. Everyone sweat-dropped with the exception of the Shinobi council. Suddenly, there was a burst of "chatter from the civvies after Naruto made his plea and the Hokage quickly got them under control before the noise could build up.
"Quiet! Now then, Naruto, would you care to explain why you are pleading no contest and guilty at the same time?"
"Sure, I am guilty of hiding a spy since he left on his own volition after murdering his family because not only was I just a child at that time, I almost ended up following that spy towards his secret hideout. However, I pleaded no contest of disobeying orders as I had stopped an invasion before it could get out of hand. So I am what you would call a risk taker and I will jump into things without thinking. Besides, what would you all have done if I didn't rescue ji-chan sitting right there in front of you?" said Naruto as he pointed at the old man.
"See? He just confessed to hiding Itachi Uchiha! I'd say we vote to execute him right now." Said a fat merchant from his spot at the table.
"hahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Laughed Naruto coldly as he activated his mangekyo Sharingan before approaching behind him with a kunai knife. "I don't think you truly understand what you are actually dealing with here."
"What the hell, you monster? How dare you attack me from behind? Respect your elders!" shouted the merchant.
Suddenly, Naruto placed the knife closer to the man's throat and said in a very grim tone, "Try calling me a monster again, and I will promise you a slow, painful death when I am done with you. Trust me, the real demons in hell would rather make mince-meat out of you before you even realize you are dead." Said Naruto as he slowly let the blade sink into the man's neck, drawing little blood. He then released the knife and wiped the blood with his tongue before deactivating his technique and returning back to the Hokage's side.
The merchant wasn't sure what just happened in the room as he slowly got up and went to the nearby bathroom to puke his guts out.
"Now then, I was saying that none of you fully comprehend what you are doing because if you all abandoned your Hokage, you wouldn't be leaving the village so badly crippled like this. Although you civvies are to blame for what happened during the invasion, you just didn't have the weapons to stand up against the ex-student of the Hokage. You were overpowered by the sound shinobis since a hero like me has already organized some troops of my own to defend the village."
"What does that mean, boy? And how can you be a hero at a time like this?" asked Danzo condescendingly."
"Who are you calling a boy? I don't see a boy in this room, unless you are looking on the inside of your robes." Said Naruto.
There were muffled snickers and laughter coming from the members of the Shinobi council and cries of outrage from the civilians.
"Quiet! Naruto-kun please go on"
"First of all, trying to get me killed will most likely end with the slaughter of konoha's forces. So don't get too excited." Said naruto as he held his hand up and noticed that a few people were about to open their mouths and brag "now to brag but my record speaks for itself" The shinobi council and the elders were not able to ignore that since 'The Perfect Storm' is now a name to be feared.
"Since I am now the head of the Namikaze, the senji and the Uzumaki clans, I will take any and all contributions from konoha as well as the alliances that this village had made." Continued Naruto.
Even the Hokage was surprised at what Naruto said about being the head of the Senju clan.
"Let me explain. The Uzumakis of my former village, known as Uzushiogakure had a long standing alliance with konoha thanks to the cemented marriage of Mito Uzumaki and Hashirama Senju. That makes Mito the great aunt of my mother, Kushina uzumaki and me the great-great nephew of Mito Uzumaki. So in other words, the senju were and always will be a shinobi clan to claim head clan status so that they can become an active shinobi. Anyway, Hokage jiji, where is Tsunade now?"
"It's been so many years since I last heard from her." Said the smirking Hokage. "She hasn't been an active shinobi for a while now. I guess she could be somewhere in Tanzaku town drinking and gambling." He knew where his surrogate grandson was going with this question, even the elders were grimacing at the conclusion.
"Let me be the first to say that Tsunade hasn't taken on a mission for many years while I have been an active shinobi for just six months. Therefore, she is ineligible to take the clan head. However, if I can find her, I am sure she will love to take the job of Hokage while you enjoy your retirement, ji-chan. Now, as for you civvies, while we are on the subject of this senju clan. If am to be kicked out of Konoha, I would advise Sasuke Uchiha to co,e with me because I have a long standing alliance with the Uchiha clan," said Naruto smuglingly.
The civilians were shocked at what Naruto just said while the Shinobis were enjoying naruto taking it to those civilians who made his life miserable.
"You are not taking Sasuke Uchiha!" snarled a different civilian.
"Oh really? If I wanted to go with naruto, then I got nothing left to lose. Besides, I am on a quest to kill that insane brother of mine and obtain what is rightfully mine!" said Sasuke as he entered through the window.
"You are just in time, bro! Besides, since Sasuke is the last surviving Uchiha here in this shitty-ass village, if I am banished, I will be more than happy to be granted asylum by Itachi himself." Said naruto as he smiled at everyone while Sasuke just looked at him in confusion.
"You are kidding right, Naruto? You can't seriously be joining up with Itachi!" asked the shocked Hokage.
"I am not kidding. It is a dangerous world out there and if I have to go out there alone, I will definitely feel more comfortable with Itachi at my side because we can easily get past his criminal status. It will be a fresh start for the both of us."
"are you seriously trying to get yourself killed out there? What if the Akatsuki finds you?" said Sasuke.
"Oh don't worry about that! As long as you and I find Tsunade, I am sure she and the old man will find a way to pardon itachi for the crimes he had committed in the past." Smiled naruto.
"That's not the point! My brother murdered my family and you are just sitting there acting like he is some big shot hero? Don't you realize you are playing right into my brother's hands!?" shouted Sasuke.
"Relax, dear brother, I am just saying if I do get banished, I will join with itachi. Right now, it seems that these council freak shows haven't offered a verdict yet. Just watch the fireworks." Said Naruto.
Sasuke breathed a sigh of relief as he took a seat next to Tsume.
"If I may say something, Hokage-sama, if Naruto is getting banished, then as his brother, I will have to keep an eye on him on the road ahead since I don't know what sort of danger he might run into. I might also be a part of his clan as well." Said kakashi.
"Kakashi, when are you a namikaze? There is no way that is possible. What are you getting at here?" asked Koharu.
Kakashi walked forward while taking out a folder from his flak jacket and pulled out the same file folder naruto gave him after their encounter in the forest of death.
Once the Hokage opened the file, his eyebrows went into his hairline and disappearead.
"What is it, Hokage-sama?" asked Tsume
"These are adoption papaers dated one day before the Nine Tails attack and kakashi was adopted into Naruto's clan.
There was silence in the room following the announcement.
"Well, I guess I have said everything that I need to say. What is your verdict and punishment?" asked Naruto.
"You will need to step outside while we deliberate." Said the Hokage.
"Of course, Hokage-sama." Naruto bowed and headed outside the door with kakashi following close behind. Once they were outside, both of them smiled at each other.
"That was more fun than I thought it would be." Said Naruto.
"I know right? Normally the only way I can rough up the councils' feathers would be to show up later than usual, but this is 100 times better," replied kakashi.
"What shall we do in the meantime?" asked Naruto.
"I guess it is time for me to expand your mind with classical literature since you seem to be having a lot of fun torturing the mind of civilians back there." Smiled kakashi as he took out two orange books, one he kept for himself and the other was for naruto. He kept these books in his pouch while out on missions with his students and he will sometimes read them while watching Naruto and the others perform their duties.
While naruto made the whole council look like idiots, it seems that other villages are getting the word about the new heir of the fourth Hokage, especially the Akatsuki since they are prepping themselves to gather the remaining Bijuus while planning their next move. "I am going to send zetsu the rumors of the Fourth Hokage's Legacy. If this is true, than we don't know what that boy is really planning. I am telling you this because that kid is ready for whatever the world is going to throw at him." Said the guy with the spiral mask.
"You sound worried, no one can kill a god like me."
"be careful of what you say, haven't you heard that when gods are becoming arrogant, they will be mortal?"
"Tsuchikage-sama! Tsuchikage-sama!" shouted a flushtered Jonin from the encryption department in the Hidden Rock Village. The man he was talking to was the Third Tsuchikage called Onoki of Both Scales.
"Stop shouting in my ear, damn it! I am old enough as it is already, not deaf!" snapped Onoki
"Sorry about that, but we just deciphered a letter from our spy in the Leaf village." He said while handing the piece of letter to the old man.
Onoki snatched the letter and read it, his face started to become smoother and turning into a cold indifference. He looked up at the waiting Jonin and spoke, "send them a letter back and I want this to be verified. Tell your spies I want detailed information pertaining to this person to be sent to me immediately! If he is right, then we shall give that kid a warm welcome in our village. Nut if not, then he will be doing himself a favor by turning in to the Konoha Interrogation department." He then pressed a button on his desk.
"Yes, onoki-sama?" replied his secretary.
"Call the Council immediately, we got a very important issue to discuss."
Back in Orochimaru's lair, the snake was in really bad shape as he coughed and wheezed. "Where the fuck is Kabuto? Have you located him yet?"
"No, Orochimaru-sama. We've sent a lot of messages to our outposts, but so far, no one has reported seeing him anywhere since the invasion." Said Sakon as he bended on one knee in front of the lord.
"It seems that Kabuto has turned on me, or he was likely captured before the invasion even began. That would explain why we failed. Just to make sure, Kabuto is to be returned to me alive if possible. Kidomaru and Jirobo, you guys go to the southern base and bring Karin here whikle you and Tayuya go to the land of Sea and get Amachi, NOW!
"Yes, orochimaru-sama!" Shouted the sound 4 as they quickly left their master's presence.
"You wil pay dearly for taking my arms, naruto uzumaki! I swear I will tear your village down in any way possible, if it is the last thing I will do!" Orochimaru swore in his head.
Back in the sand village, Baki was waiting for the civvies to calm themselves down while the Sand Advisory council were dealing with migraines from the shouting. "Calm down, calm down! We cannot get anything done here if we cannot hear what is being said here." Said a member of the council. "Now then, Baki, you were sent here with the terms of surrender right?"
"yes, we are given two options. One we do not send gaara out into the front lines since this will only decimate the village and be replaced as one of the five great villages. The other option is to start a new treaty with a marriage proposal." Said Baki.
"So, in other words, we are to prep for war or give them a bride? That's simple enough. Send someone off the street and teach them to play housewife for one of the konoha's idiotic councilmen." Said another member of the council.
"I'm afraid that is not possible." Interrupted Baki.
"Explain why not."
"Well, based on the terms of marriage, both potential husband and the wife must be of prominent standing in their respective villages, they both must be marriageable within their age and not more than a 5 year age difference and to have children. They also must have a prominent shinobi lineage even if they are not active shinobi. If so then they will be given dual citizenship." Continued Baki.
"Kami, they are not giving us much to work with, aren't they?" said a woman sarcastically. "Any news on the children of the fourth Kazekage?"
"I've spoken to Ibiki,m and he said that Temari and kankuro are fine, they are being treated well in Konoha. They were questioned but not tortured since he knows that we wanted nothing to do with Orochimaru. When I went to see gaara, he was sleeping peacefully." Finished Baki.
Everyone was shocked while looking at Baki. They were well aware that Gaara never had gotten much sleep with that shukaku inside of him. But now, things have changed within that red haired child's mind.
"How is that even possible?"
"Well, apparently, naruto found out that there was a faulty seal that never properly locked the consciousness of the Shukaku and it was corrupting gaara's mind whenever he slept. As a show of good faith, The Hokage had Naruto and Jiraiya of the sannin fixing gaara's seal." Finished Baki.
"I see, but this is too much for us to handle" said a gray haired councilman while wiping the sweat down his face. "let us put a list of possible candidates and get this over with?"
"Why don't we continue fighting, we are still one of the five great nations right? This was what the invasion is all about, right?" said the woman.
"what is there left to fight with? Most of our fighters were either badly injured or killed during the invasion and we got no weapons to engage now. Furthermore, our ultimate weapon is sleeping right now in the Konoha cell and that caused the treaty to be broken. I highly doubt we can fight again since we could face a similar betrayal again. Right now, the fourth Kazekage is dead and we do not have a leader and our morale is extremely low. We need this time to rebuild our forces before we end up getting replaced." Said a man.
"Fine then, do we have the candidates picked out?" sighed the woman.
"Right now we got the children of the late Kazekage since they are powerful in their own right. However, we cannot risk letting gaara defecting to Konoha permanently once he gets dual citizenship. Kankuro is a master of puppets and we cannot hand him over nor telling his secrets to another village, no matter if they are the allies of Konoha or not. So, I guess Temari is the perfect choice." Said the councilman. "Now then, baki. Do you have the list of the Hokage's candidates?"
"Yes, I got the list here. It seems that the heir of the nara clan, the last surviving Uchiha, and the Hyuuga siblings are obvious choices, but it seems that none of them are interested right now since they are far too young. Therefore, we have only Naruto Namikaze Uzumaki left since he is the perfect choice." Said Baki.
"So the yellow flash had a son that is still alive?"
"Forget about him, we have an ooprtunity to steal the sharingan and the byakugan."
"Konoha would never do that since those bloodlines are loved by their own village. Now, do you want another uchiha massacre to happen again? Let the whole village get wiped out? You don't want Lady Temari's children to be used as breeding factories, right?" warned another council member.
"So we are all in agreement to let this wedding go through?"
"Excuse me, honorable council, but I am suna's most loyal shinobi all my life here and I have never abandoned my duties. I have finished my assignments on time." Said baki.
"We all know that, Baki. So what is your point? You are our most exemplary shinobi here and no one here will question your loyalty."
"My point is that, I would need to talk to gaara about it, then call him a sissy instead of telling Temari that she is being handed off to a complete stranger." Said baki as he turned on his heal leaving the chambers with the council watching in confusion.
Back at Konoha, Naruto was sitting at a table with the four jonins as they discussed the boy's run-ins with the council.
"So, all I had to do was to fork over my 300 ryou for fighting a dangerous opponent without backup. I was told that my promotion to chunin would be put on hold until I get tsunade back. I was let go and even the parents of the konoha 12 were so proud of me for that stunt." Said naruto while raising his saucer of sake.
"Congrats to you, Naruto. You certainly do have what it takes to become a chunin, hell you could be a jonin soon." Said Asuma.
"Nothing will hold me back from becoming a jonin. I used to work alone, but I think teammates are better." Said naruto.
"Why are you in such a rush to be a jonin?" asked kakashi
"Not really in a rush, but I am trying to make a promise to my people that I would become a jonin sensei later on." Continued Naruto.
"yeah, you were begging for the Old man to hurry up and get you that chunin promotion, but since he asked you to bring Tsunade back, it makes things more interesting now. But I have this fear that if you are a jonin, it will be impending doom for us." Said Asuma.
"Well, if you are all concerned, why is it not happening to me?" said naruto.
"Maybe it was something you ate?" chastised Gai.
Naruto was about to reply, but a sudden flash of movement stopped him from speaking as a purple haired interrogation artist appeared behind him and humped his whole body like a dog.
"Anko-san! Please do not degrade yourself in public like this! This is such an un-youthful display!" shouted Gai.
"Sorry, but I need to take my secret boyfriend away for a few minutes because he needs to get me home after a long day. If he does not leave in the next three seconds, I AM going to fuck him here and now." Said Anko as she took out her kunai knife. Once Naruto got up, he was hauled up by his body and they both disappeared in a flash.
Back in the office, Jiraiya was laughing like crazy after hearing naruto's antics earlier. He couldn't understand where that boy came up with such jokes to anger the council. "haahahahahahahahahaha! That boy is such a riot, he really threatened to team up with Itachi Uchiha if he was banished frok Konoha? Oh man! That is so priceless! Sorry I missed that one."
"yes, I know! I would have found it amusing as well if I had known about it, but I was surprised too." Said the Hokage.
"Is that why you called me here to let me in on the joke?" said Jiraiya.
"No, it was something else that Naruto had pointed out since Tsunade left Konoha. I wonder if we could use her services again. Regardless, it has been too long. So I have a mission for you. I need you to find ways to convince Tsunade to come back to konoha. Do whatever it takes to use blackmail, knocking her out with something, and dragging her back here. I need her to take the Hokage position immediately. I need naruto to go with you on this mission because I trust you to look after him. By the way, keep him away from the Akatsuki. Also, I want orochimaru dead since he desecrated the memories of two men that I hesitated to give my life for. I should have ended him a long time ago, but I need you to get rid of what is left of the Sound village and any enemy shinobi still residing there killed."
"when do we leave?" asked Jiraiya.
"If I know Naruto, he is probably outside of the gates waiting for you right now, I promised him that he will become chunin once Tsunade is back in konoha. Make sure he is well rested for tomorrow's mission." Finished the Hokage.
"Of course, maybe I can teach him a few new jutsus along the way." Smiled Jiraiya as he left the office.
I know this chapter took a lot longer to finish since I had been battling a cold virus for over a month now. However, I was able to finish this chapter without any problems. Basically, I explained more about naruto's past history with his old village and why he wanted to pardon Itachi after the massacre. It appears that itachi wanted Naruto to use his powers to help those that are precious to him and not a weapon of mass destruction.
