A/N: It has been three days and I still have the Jayden and Emily feels bad. That's probably because I keep watching videos on YouTube featuring them. I love them, but then again who wouldn't? So, I want to try and finish the rest of the prompts I have for Cherish. It has been four years since I have started this and I figure I should finish this. I will try and publish a prompt for it everyday until I am done and I know I have a long way to go. But I am willing to try if you guys are willing to stick it out with me. And sorry I hard to re-upload this. There were so many errors I couldn't live with.

Cherish

Chapter Ten: Change

Jayden felt the touch of a hand against his cheek. He was unsure of who was touching him, but the sensation was a pleasant one. So, he figured he wasn't in any real danger. He wanted to open his eyes and see who was touching him, he really did. But his body wasn't ready for him to do that quite yet. He knew he was safe, so he decided to keep his eyes shut just a little longer.

When he did finally open his blue eyes, he looked up and saw Emily. Her gray eyes were focused on the fight between the Megazord and a giant monster. She should have been fighting with the others, but she had probably volunteered to stay behind to keep a watch over him. He couldn't be mad at her for that. She wouldn't have been able to focus on the fight if she had left him down here on the ground, alone and unconscious.

Emily hadn't realized he was awake yet. Her focus remained on the fight, but she still continued to stroke his cheek gently. He seeked comfort from the gesture since his body hurt. Since what she was doing actually made him feel a little better. Emily had always been a great friend to him. She would go out of her way to protect him and make him smile.

In his mind she was one of the most amazing people he had ever met. And he knew as he when he had started to watch her that his feelings for her had changed. He didn't know when it had happened, but he knew that he had fallen in love with her.

He continued to watch the expressions change on her face as the battle raged on. Her hands moved down to his shoulders and she clutched the fabric of his navy blue button down shirt in her hands. He also noticed she was biting her lip, which meant she was nervous. But a few minutes later her expression changed and a smile blossomed on her lips. The other rangers must be winning the battle now. She finally looked down at him and he smiled up at her as a look of pure happiness filled her eyes.

"Jayden," She whispered as she moved her hands back up to his cheeks. "I am so happy you are awake we were all so worried."

"I'm sorry Emily," He whispered back to her. "But I won't be leaving you guys anytime soon, especially you."

She began to blush and Jayden was sure he knew what she had meant. But before she could respond the others came back. Mike and Kevin helped him up and practically carried him home. His body felt like it was on fire, but he also felt like his heart could soar. He knew he could have a life beyond being the Red Samurai Ranger and he had Emily to thank for that change in his life.
