Dry your tears chapter 22

Amy's p.o.v

I cringed as Xander slammed his fist inches above my head on the wall.

"I'm gonna ask you one last time bitch. WHERE WERE YOU?!"

Tears soaked my face as I mumbled out words. I couldn't tell him I was at Aunt Jackie's because I was forbidden to visit of a quick lie under this much pressure didn't help the situation much either. Xander was pissed beyond all hell. A social security agent came by to check on me and me missing at night was never a good look on him and Vera. Vera stood close behind cracking her knuckles. She eyed me and grinded her teeth.

"Do you know how much effort we put into raising pathetic shits like you?! And here you are disappearing at night the exact day you were getting a check up. No wonder your parents are dead. They must have not wanted anything to do with you."

My eyepuffed, which blinded me from Xander's punch to my face. "TELL US WHERE YOU WERE!"

"I WAS AT AUNT JACKIE'S! I WANTED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT-"

CRACK

I screamed as Xander slung me to the ground. A vase tilted, smashing beside me. I shielded my face from the flying glass. Just before another pounding, Vera caught his fist and twisted it. "She has another inspection tomorrow. Don't wanna bloody up her face now do we? Go get my cigarettes and get this damn awful vanilla scent out of my apartment!" Vera stomped up and Xander stood over me huffing. I tried my best not to make eye contact.

"It won't happen again...sir"

"Your punishmennt isn't over, don't you worry." Xander snarled and left the room with a loud door slam. I guess the only good thing was that everything looked clean and nice...only smoke and mirrors for the agent. Every time she visits I hate myself...I never speak up so she can take me away from this awful place. I cried silently, picking up the tiny, shattered pieces next to me. Shattered glass...shattered life. The broken vase suddenly became a friend. Inanimate, but a friend.

Baby steps. My longer chapters will come back that's a promise.
