A/N: So, I bought the complete series of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue when I was on Amazon last night. I bought Lost Galaxy last month so it will be awesome to own two ranger seasons. Anyway, this will be the next chapter in Cherish. I am bringing back a couple old rangers for this chapter. I hope you guys like it and leave comments if you want. You guys know I love the feedback. Chapter Thirteen: Friends

"How did you know you wanted to be more than friends with Conner?" Emily asked the former yellow ranger sitting beside her on the porch swing. Kira Ford looked over at her a little shocked by the question. Yes, Emily thought it was a little weird that she was asking Kira this. She had only met her twenty minutes ago.

Kira took a sip of her lemonade and shrugged. "I really can't give you an answer. I just decided one day that I wanted to be more than friends with him. Luckily for me he felt the same way and the rest is history."

It hadn't been the answer Emily was looking for, but she knew it would be the best she was going to get. Kira took a sip of her lemonade and then looked over at Emily. "Do you feel that way about one of your teammates?" She asked the current yellow ranger.

"Yeah," Emily replied as she looked over at Jayden who was talking to Conner McKnight; who was Kira's boyfriend and the Red Dino Thunder Power Ranger. They seemed to be enjoying each other's company. Conner had Jayden laughing about some story he must have been telling. They were standing ten feet away from the porch swing so Emily couldn't hear what they were talking about.

"So, you like Jayden huh?" Emily nodded her head in response to Kira's question. "You should just tell him how you feel about him then."

Emily whipped her head around so hard she thought she might get whiplash. "I can't do that," She said in an aggravated whisper. "What if he says he doesn't like me way? And what if he gets all awkward and it ruins the dynamic of the team?"

Kira began to giggle a little. "You are really over thinking this," Emily glared at her, but that caused Kira to giggle more before she began to speak again. "It wouldn't kill you to at least try Emily. I mean if I hadn't told Conner how I felt then I would be alone and he would be dating someone else."

"You have a point." Emily sighed, knowing that Kira was right about this. Jayden and Conner walked over a couple of seconds later, ending the conversation.

"Come on Kira we have to get back on the road if we want to beat the afternoon traffic." Conner told his girlfriend when they walked over to her and Emily.

"You're right let's go," Kira said as she stood up and took Conner's hand. "Thank you for the lovely afternoon and remember what I said Emily." Emily nodded her head and Kira smiled as she and Conner left.

"What was she talking about?" Jayden asked her. She looked up at him and decided it was now or never. She took a deep breath and blurted it out. "I want to be more than just friends with you Jayden!"

Emily had to admit she did feel a lot better, having gotten that off her chest. But now she was too scared to look up at Jayden. He hadn't said anything yet. He was probably thinking of a nice way to reject her.

"How bout we go out this weekend then?" Jayden asked her and she looked up at him in confusion. Had he seriously just asked her that.

"Okay." She replied softly as he held out his hand for her to take. She took it and they held hands as they walked into the house. Emily was happy she had taken Kira's advice and now she had a chance to be more than just friends with Jayden.
