So sorry for very long delay! I'm on it now, this is very short but it's just to let you know I'm working on it again. I will finish this very soon. Had a bad few months and found it hard to write. Sorry hope you are still interested to read the conclusion.
"The Ministry of Magic." The words were repeated seven times. As seven handfuls of apparent dust were thrown in the office fire, seven witches and wizards arrived and stepped out of one of the many gleaming brass fire places.
The ministry was always dark and foreboding when not full of the clatter and chatter of employees going about there business. Even the central fountain looked ominous and unfriendly at this hour.
Harry shivered, non of his experiences at the ministry had been pleasant, and this was to be no exception.
"No security Severus." whispered the minister glancing worriedly around the atrium.
"I had noticed, thank you Minister."
Snape answered sarcastically.
The Minister beckoned the little group onwards towards the many lifts.
Their footsteps echoed across the vacuous reception, Kingsley hurriedly uttered a silencing charm cushioning the sound of their shoes against the hard dark wooden floor.
The feelings of déjà vous were hard to ignore for Harry, the very thought of facing dark wizards at every corner was enough to make him and his friends quake with trepidation.
In no time at all they were all listening to the overwhelmingly loud crunching and grinding of the lifts.
"Level nine, department of mysteries." announced the cool level voice of the lift recording.
The lift shuddered to a halt and everyone yet again winced at the excruciatingly loud sound it made.
The corridor before them shone black, dazzling in its darkness.
Intimidating yet alluring. The thought of all the secrets contained behind the formidable corridor walls, was enough to seduce the most cowardly of explorers to continue past it's doors. Ron turned to the others, stoping them walking out of the lift." I'm about to break a vow, if we get split up if we need to escape if one of us needs to go on ahead, doors need to be open to you. I'm giving you entry to the department of mysteries" he cast a spell nobody caught the words but a mist descended on them and evaporated away. Kingsley nodded "there will be no repercussions for you"
Ron nodded thankfully then boldly led the way familiar by now with the direction and the procedure.
Once the correct door had been identified they all stepped through.
Kingsley and Ron gave the room a sweep around with their wands and then decided that for now the chamber was free of any threat.
"Where's Snape?" asked Harry suddenly looking around about him.
"Didn't he come through the door with us?" Kingsley looked around the room as if expecting him to pop out of the shadows.
"Hermione was at the back, Hermione...did he come through the door?" asked Ron turning to look at his friend.
Hermione looked back at him ashen faced and panic stricken.
"I...I'm not sure."
"Ron go back to the atrium and see if he's still there, if he isn't can you perform a charm to find out which door he's gone through?"
"Yes I will check, but if he's gone through a door by force then it will be easy to trace him. However if he somehow has been granted unlimited access it will be untraceable Minister."
"Why are you talking like he's some kind of traitor, maybe he's been taken." Hermione glared at Ron in furry.
"Taken! You are joking Hermione, he's too good to be taken and we are too good to not have noticed if he had been. Bloody hell! He's got the cloak and the wand! The greasy git engineered this."
Harry broke in to the conversation ignoring the feeling of panic rising up from his body, He spoke softly to his friend intreating her to understand, their consternation.
"He's a traitor Hermione, you need to start deciding who's side your on."
Hermione looked about her for support only meeting the stony glances of her friends and the Minister.
"Why do you always seem to stick up for the slimy git?" spat Ron
"Because she loves him." Luna's voice rang out pure and unconcerned, stopping them all in their tracks.
Hermione turned to the door and fled.
Ron and Neville's mouths hung open in utter disbelief at Luna's words and the swiftness of Hermione's departure.
Harry and Draco ran after her only to find she'd disappeared completely.
They returned to the others despondently.
"She's gone to find him, blimey she moves quick when she wants to." Draco muttered shaking his head.
"I don't understand, is there something inappropriate about Hermione and Professor Snape?" asked the Minister incredulously.
"Define inappropriate?... no wait this is getting us nowhere. Minister I suggest we press on towards the room that holds the vale. That's where everyone will be heading. Draco you look for Hermione and Snape, check the doors for force in case he has been taken. Lets give the old bastard the benefit of the doubt, for Hermione's sake."
"That sounds like a good plan, never hang a man on his past, good lad. However... Draco don't waste too much time in your search for the Professor, concentrate on returning Hermione to the party, I always thought her so sensible, and yet of all the silly things to do, just to run off after a wizard more than capable of extracting himself from any difficult situation. However, let us press on and hope The Hallows are safe."
Ron tapped Draco on the arm to get his attention. "I will mark the doors for you Draco so you can find the way to the death room, use the point me spell." he instructed.
Draco nodded and set off back through the door to look for Hermione
