"The fuck did you just say?" I asked while letting out a growl. The man at the table beside us fell out of his seat. Bella raised one eyebrow, not saying anything. I tried to get in control of my fury, but damn it I wanted to kill everyone in this place excluding us, in hopes of just taking a nth of my anger out. "What did you just say?" The words came out slowly.
"You know I don't like when you are angry at me." Bella's impassive look was quickly turning into a glare.
"I wouldn't be angry if you hadn't said that." My teeth were clenched and the small amount of anger that had evaporated came back full force. She stood up and my legs hit the table as I went to follow her. I grabbed her arm, stopping her. She turned to face me.
"Unlike you, Jasper, I know how to get rid of my anger in a non-destructive way." Bella leaned in so that she could whisper in my ear. "The longer you hold me like this the angrier I get, so let me go so I can splash some cold water on my face instead of shout at you in front of all these people." I looked down at my hand that held Bella's arm like a vice. I let go while scowling before heading back to the table. I watched her head to the restroom while glaring at her form, the sway of her hips, the color of her hair, her clenched fists-
The mumbling around me grew louder. One of the couples on the other side of the room was considering calling the police, the others were just talking about what they had seen. I hated them all so I sent out waves of fear and anxiety to everyone in the restaurant but Bella. Most of them left. I kept a close watch on Bella's emotions. Her anger was going down while mine was going up. I picked up a fork and started twisting it under the table.
Finally Bella came back out, looking a thousand times more composed than me. I was about to speak, but she raised a hand silently telling me to stop. Instead I began grinding my teeth while watching her. I was surprised when she pulled the table away from my still seated form. She crossed her arms and stood right in front of me. I tried to stand up, but she put her hands on my shoulders, pushing down hard enough to make the average man fall back in his seat. I sat back down, if only to keep up the illusion of humanity. Bella leaned down so that she was eye level with me. I ignored the cleavage she revealed, instead keeping my eyes steadily on hers.
"Do you think I was saying I was leaving you? Don't lie to me either, Jasper." I took a deep breath in and considered her question.
"No, but-"
"But what?" She cut me off, sounding incredulous. I put my hands on my knees trying to let out some of my frustration by grabbing onto them.
"But you were threatening-"
"Do you think I was threatening you or just continuing our conversation?"
"If you interrupt me one m-"
"Just answer the question." My fingers were digging into the flesh of my legs and my chest was rumbling with a suppressed growl. I have to reign in this fucking fury before I do something I can't take back.
"You were just continuing the conversation." I admitted begrudgingly. Bella's whole body slumped and she looked down, like all her energy just left her instantaneously. I was surprised when she sat down on my lap, straddling me. She gave me a kiss on the cheek before laying her forehead on my shoulder while hugging me. I slowly wound my arms around her shaking form as I felt her tears on my shoulder. Seeing her like this destroyed a part of me I didn't even know existed. "I'm sorry." I whispered while kissing her shoulder. She just held onto me tighter and I let her cry.
