written for: the level-up competition, tutorial: stage one, task one
notes: writing a seventy-five word fic featuring an argument is a bizarrely specific and, before now, unexpected addition to the list of things i am not convinced i could ever do again. omg.
thanks: to anyone who read this; sorry that it isn't longer, welp, but restrictions—i will update this collection asap though with a longer one as recompense for your time!
warnings: no warnings as such except that this is only 75 words lmao so it's different from my usual style
disclaimer: disclaimed.
james, marlene & remus-—a snapshot of their lives; the order, after harry's birth
the world pulls us all in so many opposing directions
"Absolutely not," Marlene says shortly.
"But Marly—"
"James! How is this even an argument?" Remus explodes, rounding on him.
"It's Sirius, Moony! I can't let him go in alone," James argues, desperation staining his voice.
Marlene's face softens. "You have a son, James," she reminds him. "He needs you. Lily needs you."
"You know he'd back us up," Remus adds quietly.
"... Fine," James spits out, knowing they're right and hating every moment of it.
a/n. this length (or lack thereof) is so unprecedented for me
