A/T: Sorry for the late update. Unfortunately work has been keeping me too busy over the past few months but I promise to make up for it.

I know I made a few people angry with the 'Speaking the Truth' story, so here is all the Densi love we all want to see on screen as well!

As always can't wait to read your reviews.

Enjoy!

Neither of them went to work that day, but neither cared.

A simple text from Deeks to the team back in OPS that everything was good, was more than enough to just give them the necessary time alone.

Drunken pigs, beers, desert….Deeks felt a strange déjà-vu flooding his mind and he suddenly went back in time. Back to when Kensi was the one knocking on his door bearing comfort and support.

It certainly looked like history was repeating itself, with a few alternations in the process.

Kensi had told him after his abduction that she knew what he was going through. In his head though, she was in the dark. He knew she had never experienced the kind of torture he was admitting to.

He had snapped at her that night. Why had he done that? All she wanted was to be there for her partner and he had simply shut her down. It took him a while, but he finally saw that he was wrong and selfish acting that way.

They stayed up until late watching the Shining on TV.

Kensi Blye, a highly skilled agent who could easily kill you with her thumb was scared of watching horror movies alone. Who would have thought?

Somewhere in the middle of the film they had both fallen asleep on her couch. He opened his eyes around 4 am, only to find her face nuzzling on his neck. He slowly picked up the remote control to turn off the TV, and carefully picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.

She didn't wake up, she didn't even flinch. It was obvious that she was exhausted and Deeks couldn't help but wonder if she had gotten any sleep within these past three weeks.

He carefully laid her on her bed and brushed away a lock of hair from her face. The bruises had faded away, but he could still see them.

He slowly lifted the sleeve of her t-shirt and turned her hand over to examine her wrist. The wounds had closed, but the red scars remained; They probably would for the rest of her life.

He gently stroked the skin with his thumb and shook his head in anger.

His own brother was responsible this. Who knew what other pain he had inflicted on her. Who knew how many more scars were hidden behind her clothes.

Did he even want to know?

He took a deep breath and covered her with the pink blanket that was neatly folded on the edge of the bed. Pink! That was so….girly.

Sometimes he forgot that his partner was hiding a girl in pink beneath that tough agent exterior.

He turned his back to leave, but then regretted the idea. He should be there when she woke up. Perhaps he could convince her in the morning to join him to work.

She should get out of the damn house. She should be trying to get accustomed to her old normal life. Not hide in this cave.

"See you in the morning Fern," he softly kissed her forehead and went back to the living room.

Yes, having her sleeping in his arms felt just…natural, but he didn't want to invade her space anymore than he already had, so he chose to sleep on the couch.

He quietly removed his jeans grabbed a cushion and collapsed face down on the couch. Kensi's scent on the green furry cushion was hypnotizing and within seconds he had surrendered himself to Morpheus as well.

She slowly woke up as a ray of light crept in through the half closed drapes. She stretched her arms and a soft moan escaped her lips.

What time was it? She looked at her watch and it was already 7:30 am.

Then, she focused on her surroundings and realized where she was.

When did she move to the bedroom?

She looked next to her hoping to find the figure of a sleeping Deeks, but to her disappointment, the bed was empty.

Had he left in the middle of the night, after carrying her to the bed?

Then, she heard him. Actually, at first she didn't know what that sound was. Just a creepy, deep roar coming from the living room.

She got up and followed that weird sound, only to find Deeks sleeping on the couch.

Sleeping and snoring.

Really, deeply snoring with his mouth half open.

One hand was resting on his chest while the other was stretched above his head. He was only wearing his t-shirt and his blue boxers.

She covered he mouth with her hand to prevent herself from laughing out loud. For a moment she thought about recording him and use this embarrassing moment against him sometime in the future.

She should had acted fast, cause within seconds he was awake too and just like that, the golden opportunity was missed.

"Awww, are you watching me sleep?" Deeks asked, rubbing his sleepy eyes.

"Don't flatter yourself shaggy. You snore you know," Kensi simply stated and walked towards the kitchen.

"I don't snore!" he exclaimed and slowly forced himself up "You're the one who snores."

"Oh please, I thought an alligator was in the house. Trust me, your snore could cause an earthquake. In fact I felt the house tremble a bit," she smiled as she turned on the coffee maker.

"You are only saying these things to make me feel bad, but it won't work," he joined her in the kitchen.

"You are lucky I didn't have the time to have that precious moment on video. I would have made you famous on the internet."

"Honey, I am already famous," he sat on the breakfast table "In fact if I become any more famous than this, women will be lining up on my door step."

"You know, men who think too much of themselves are usually not that…gifted after all. If you know what I mean," she looked over her shoulder at him with a wicked smile.

"Oh trust me sunshine, I am a very much gifted man. In fact if we hadn't restrained ourselves that night you would have gotten a taste of my many gifts."

"You are gross!" she snapped at him and grabbed two cups from the cupboard.

"Well you started it," Deeks defended himself.

"And now I am finishing it. It's too early to be having this kind of conversation and I am too caffeine deprived."

Deeks didn't speak a word.

He just stood there, watching her make the coffee. She put almond milk in her own, just the way she liked it and then turned her attention to Deeks' mug.

She didn't ask how he wanted his coffee and he didn't have to tell. She poured half a tea spoon of brown sugar in it and placed the mug on the table.

Deeks' mouth dropped open in utter shock and excitement.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked before drinking a sip of her own coffee.

"Did you realize what you just did?"

"No, what?" Kensi asked looking around trying to understand what he was talking about.

"The coffee. You knew exactly how I like it."

Kensi stared at the mug with her mouth open. "So, what does that mean? Is my memory finally coming back?"

"I don't know. But it's a start. Definitely a good start," he smiled at her. "How would you feel about going back to work today?"

Kensi swallowed hard. "I don't know if I am ready."

"Look, I am not saying you should jump into action. Just….you know…..get acquainted to the new building. Meet a few people you don't remember…Nell for instance. "

"Who's Nell?" she squinted her eyes.

"She is an analyst. She works wonders along with Eric and I am pretty sure Hetty is rooting for her."

"Rooting for her, for what?"

"To take her place, when the time comes."

"Wow! She must be really good to have Hetty's support."

Deeks shrugged his shoulders. "She is pretty good, but she still has a long road ahead in order to become Hetty 2.0. To be honest with you, I partnered up a couple of times with her during your absence."

"And?" Kensi's eyes widened.

"And…what?" Deeks asked back.

"Well, was she better than me?"

Even if with amnesia, her competitive nature made its appearance.

"No, she wasn't better than you. No one was better than you," he gave her his most sincere smile.

"With many people did they exactly partner you up?"

"Well, there was Nell…..and the guys of course…..Granger…..Ehsan – he was a witness during a case, one of the coolest kids I've met – Thalia….."

"Who's Thalia?" Kensi bit her lip.

Amnesia or no amnesia, her jealousy level hit red just by the the name of another woman.

Hum…." Deeks swallowed hard. He had hoped she wouldn't ask any questions about her.

"She worked for the DEA….and Hetty forced us to work together…..I didn't want a partner….but I had no choice….one of her people was murdered...and then someone tried to kill her too...so we brought her to the boathouse...Anyway….we closed the case and she is long gone," he finally managed to take a breath after the long rant.

"Then why are you so jumpy about it?"

"I am not jumpy!" Deeks shook his head.

"Was she pretty?" she tried to sound as casual as possible but the hint of jealousy was evident in her voice.

"I don't know. Never actually noticed," he picked up his mug and tried to divert his look.

"Really?" Kensi glared at him.

Deeks raised his hand in defeat. "Fine, she was pretty. But not beautiful like you."

Kensi could feel her cheeks flash in embarrassment. As far as she remembered no other man had called her beautiful before. Hot maybe. Sexy definitely. But not beautiful. This surfer surely had his way with the ladies.

"I bet you say that to all the women," she answered back trying not to take his words seriously.

"No... Just you!"

He was looking at her in a way every woman wants to be looked by her man and it was driving her crazy.

They locked eyes for a few seconds trying to figure out what to do next.

Honestly, they both wanted to kiss each other. It was obvious in their look, in the heat they were transmitting, in the mad beating of their hearts. Their lips were like magnets drawing closer each other

Finally it was Deeks who broker the eye contact first and looked away.

"You should get dressed if we want to be at the office by 9:30," he cleared his throat and looked at his empty cup.

"Work….right…."Kensi nervously played with her hair and headed to the bedroom.

"Don't you want us to drop by your place and get you some clean clothes?" Deeks heard her shout through the closed door of her bedroom and looked down to his shirt.

"That's a good idea. Last thing we need if for the guys to notice I am wearing the same clothes as yesterday. And trust me, they are going to notice."

"What's the problem with that? I don't remember them being member of the fashion police," she said as she buttoned up her jeans.

"Last time you walked into Ops with the same clothes, every one noticed. And then, you got re-assigned."

"Oh, I understand," Kensi sighed. "I know that I need to go back. But are you ready? I mean…after everything you went through with your brother?" she approached him and tried to meet his eyes.

"Yes!" he bluntly responded. "Besides, I need to have a chat with Hetty. I have been postponing it for too long, but it's finally time to get some things straight."

She could see the disappointment in his eyes. Disappointment mixed with anger.

"Are you sure you can do this today?" she asked worriedly and softly caressed his cheek.

"Yes," he placed his hand above Kensi's and brought it close to his lips. "Today I will take our future in our hands."

He gently kissed her hand and then lead her outside. He was determined to end his quarrel with Hetty that day.

His anger had been boiling up for far too long and he needed to unleash it. But above all, he needed answers. Answers that only Hetty had and under no circumstances he was leaving without them. e was done being the goofy detective. He was done being patient and obedient.
