Hey honeys! How's everyone been? I have to confess, I've found a couple of fics to read and I kinda forgot about my own, I'm sorry guys… Anyway, here's a brand new chapter for you to enjoy :)

Disclaimer: nothing of this is mine, even if I can't find a clever way to justify it right now.

The next morning, Rachel woke up in the couch, with a pillow under her head and a blanket on her body. She didn't remember it so well but she assumed she fell asleep with Finn and he must have laid her down before he left. That thought instantly printed a big smile on her face.

After she showered, she surprised herself picking meticulously what she'd wear. After a lot of wondering and trying on, she settled for a pink shirt with small hearts printed in a polka pattern and a tight, navy blue skirt. She was going to wear her favorite knee-high boots, but she assumed they'd be a little uncomfortable in case she had to dance, so she picked a pair of ballerina flats instead. She was surprised to see that her outfit was somewhere in between her old and her new look.

When she arrived to the choir room, the bell hadn't rung yet, but Finn, Mr. Schue and some of the kids were already there. She took a moment to watch Finn in action. He was teaching Ryder how to play some new rhythm on the drums, and the kid listened to him attentively. Then he tried to play it, and apparently did it wrong, because Finn stopped him politely and asked him to start again. This time, Ryder got it right, and Finn patted him in the shoulder after congratulating him and giving him a high five and a fist bump.

A warm feeling spread through her chest after what she was seeing. He had definitely found his place in the world, and there was nothing that made her happier. Right then, he looked up and saw her standing by the door, staring at him and he immediately displayed a big smile and waved, and that made that warm feeling go from her chest to her face, and made her think her cheeks were probably red.

When all the kids arrived, Mr. Schue clapped his hands to get their attention.

– Ok, guys, let's sit down please. Marley and Jake have a number to show.

Mr. Schue, Rachel and Finn sat next to the kids and Marley and Jake grabbed a stool each and sat in front of all of them.

– Well, it's not an original song, but we really liked the idea of making a duet so we tried with this one. – Marley introduced.

The music started and they started singing a few seconds after:

Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them

Finn looked to where Rachel was sitting. He could see her smiling soflty at Marley and Jake and he couldn't help doing the same. Those lyrics carried a lot of truth.

Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh
Things you never say to me, oh, oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

I'm sorry I don't understand
Where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine
(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everythin'
And it's all in your mind
(Yeah, but this is happenin')

You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh
You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Oh, our love, our love

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
You're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Rachel could feel Finn was staring at her. She looked to his direction and their gazes connected. His eyes carried a lot of feelings and she knew hers did too. He was looking at her the same way he did when they used to sing meaningful songs together, as if he was silently singing this song to her too.

Oh, tear ducts can rust
I'll fix it for us
We're collecting dust
But our love's enough
You're holding it in
You're pouring a drink
No nothing is as bad as it seems
We'll come clean

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, oh, that we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

After Marley and Jake finished, all in the room applauded them. When everything was quiet again, Mr. Schue went to the front of the room again.

– That was good! Finn, Rachel, what did you think?

They both startled a little. Finn looked at Rachel, he knew she'd want to talk first. And he was right.

– I liked it, you sound good together. – she said with a smile.

Finn thought she was becoming better at the whole criticism thing, it wasn't harsh, or, like, freakishly perfectionist. A younger version of Rachel would have probably said she could have done it better (and maybe even end up doing it herself). And she sure could. He knew she actually thought about it, but she kept it to herself. And that was nice.

He just nodded in agreement before he talked.

– It was good guys, but I think we need something more cheery for Nationals. But, as Rach said, – he could see from the corner of his eyes that she looked down for just a second, and her smile grew a little bigger. She totally liked being called that way – you sound really good together, I'm sure your Nationals number is gonna be epic!

After this, Tina raised her hand.

– Tina? – Mr. Schue asked her.

– Yes, I was wondering. I think we all agree Jarley should do the duet number, but who's gonna make the solo performance?

– Well, that's what we wanted to say to you today. – Finn answered this time – We've decided that, since you probably won't agree with whomever we decide as the solo performer, you are going to have to vote for the one you prefer. To help you decide, you are all going to pick a song and perform it, and it could even be the one you sing at Nationals.

Everyone seemed to agree and started calling songs for themselves. They heard Unique scream "Beyoncé" and saw Jake begging Artie for some Michael Jackson song. Mr. Schue couldn't help but laugh, but he clapped his hands a couple of times before he spoke again, to get them to listen.

– Guys, guys, calm down! – the kids slowly took back their places and stopped speaking, though he could see Kitty and Tina glaring at each other from time to time – Now, does anyone else have something to show? If not, you'll start working on your solos.

This time, Blaine talked.

– No one has prepared anything for today Mr. Schue, but we were wondering if we could listen the song Rachel sang for her callback?

Blaine looked at Rachel, and Mr. Schue did too. But she was too busy looking at Finn. He was looking at her too, and he asked:

– Would you mind, Rach?

She was not completely comfortable singing this song in front of him, and she didn't know why she answered what she did.

– No, no, I wouldn't.

– Alright then – Mr. Schue said with a big (proud) smile – And then, you start working on your own songs.

The kids nodded and sat down. Rachel told Brad which song to play while Finn and Mr. Schue sat back down too. Then she turned around and closed her eyes, listening to the music, and waited until she had to sing to open them again.

Take me back in the arms I love
Need me like you did before
Touch me once again
And remember when
There was no one that you wanted more

She couldn't help the tears from falling. She couldn't help the image that came to her mind, either. She could imagine herself, being asleep on Finn's chest, and then him laying her on the couch, putting a pillow under her head, covering her body with a blanket and leaving a soft kiss on her hair before he left. That's what she assumed had happened the night before. She also couldn't help looking into Finn's eyes, who was looking directly at her, like there was no one else in the room. She knew he felt that song was for him.

I'll be waiting for you
Here inside my heart
I'm the one who wants to love you more
You will see I can give you
Everything you need
Let me be the one to love you more

I'll be waiting for you
Here inside my heart
I'm the one who wants to love you more
You will see I can give you
Everything you need
Let me be the one to love you more

And some way all the love that we had can be saved
Whatever it takes we'll find a way.

Believe me, I will make you see

All the things that your heart needs to know.

I'll be waiting
Here inside my heart
I'm the one who wants to love you more…

She wiped her cheeks, smiled a little and bowed softly to her friends to thank their applause. Then she took back her seat next to Finn.

All he could do was just stare at her as she paced from the piano to his side, and then keep staring at her after she sat down and looked to her own lap. Maybe if he wasn't a teacher (or whatever he was), he would have to pick up his own jaw from the floor (it's not like he hadn't heard her sing like that before, but he loved watching her perform almost as much as he loved doing it with her, –performing. Well, also doing it, but whatever – and that song and that performance, yeah, he was speechless). Or grab her tightly by her waist and kiss her senseless. Or both. Because being an artist was about expressing your feelings, right? She had told him so before. A before that seemed so before now, so far away, so easy-going, and above all that, so unreachable (if that's a real word… maybe he can ask her later).

What he didn't understand is why she was so open to express her feelings in songs (because he totally felt what she felt with that song) but she kept avoiding expressing the same in other ways. Well, if she stepped on the express-what-you-feel ship, he would just do it too. Again. He didn't care.

He leaned closer to her ear and whispered.

– Can you stay a little longer after the dance rehearsal with the kids?

He felt her shiver a little under his breath. He actually liked that.

– Um… I think I can. What do you need? – she asked in the same whispery voice.

– We need to talk. – he said simply.

She lifted her gaze from her dress' skirt and looked at him for a couple of seconds with big chocolate eyes, reading his expression, which was neutral, but warm eyed. She sighed softly (not in an annoyed way but as if she had been holding her breath for the few seconds he stared at him, which she actually had) and nodded.

A/N:

The songs that appear in this chapter are Just give me a reason (P!nk) and To love you more (Celine Dion).

So… what do you think Finn's going to tell Rachel? *wiggles eyebrows* YAY! I missed my cliffhangers :3

Hey! Any of you are going to Lea's Louder signing? Congrats if you are! I wish I could, but I live on the other side of the world and am broke. Sigh.

Anyway, any questions, suggestions, ideas, songs, reviews, critics (constructive ones, please) are accepted either here, by review or PM, or to my twitter account.

Love you guys! Xoxo

PS: I almost forget, I'm running out of pre-written chapters (I still have some, though), I'm getting a bit of a writer's block and I'm close to get back to college, so updates may not be as regular as they have been so far. Or maybe I get over my block and write again when I try to avoid homework, who knows. Anyway, just in case, I'm apologizing in advance.
