Hey guys! I have been a zone lately, really wanting to get all of these fillers chapters out of the way. And yes, these are filler chapters. It's going to be a big explosion of things coming up, and I really didn't want you guys to be waiting months again. I can't, however, guarantee when I will be posting again. My goal is by Saturday morning, but I have other stories I need to work on so I don't know. Hopefully, I'll get the other stories updated, and then I can get the next chapter up soon! Thanks everyone! Read and Review!

Clare's POV

I woke up to something moving me. It was Eli. He was pulling away so he could stand up. So I moved and leaned back against the wall to make it easier for him.

"Hey." I yawned.

"Hey. You're awake." Eli stated. "I'll be back. Food run."

"Alright." I yawned again. He looked hesitant to leave, but we would be fine, so I waved him off. "Go. We'll be fine."

"Okay." He agreed and headed for the door.

After he was gone, I focused on Alli and Adam. Alli was asleep in the opposite corner from us, but Adam was leaning against the wall, next to me. He was lazily looking around the room.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"Sometime around eleven." Adam replied.

"Does someone come and tell Eli he needs to get the food? Do I actually sleep through that?" I asked.

"No. No one comes. Eli can just tell. It's usually when they don't come for a while. Then he just assumes that they aren't coming, so he goes to get the food." He answered.

"Okay. Good. I thought I was sleeping through all of that every day." I exhaled. "How long has she been asleep?" I asked gesturing to Alli.

"She fell asleep about an hour after you." He stated. I nodded in response.

"I'm curious. How is it, Eli is supposed to bring these people to the bathroom but I haven't seen him do it yet? I've been here for a few days now. Someone must have had to go at some point." I asked.

"Every night, when the placements return, we get an hour of 'free time'. As they call it." Adam stated, using air quotes.

"Free time?" I asked.

"Yeah. It's where they have guards positioned in the hallway outside the door, but the door is unlocked. Anyone can leave this room to use the bathroom. I guess we have all gotten used to that, so we don't need to use the bathroom as much during the day. There have been times people have needed to go, but I think you were asleep." Adam explained. "It's also the safest time to go to the bathroom. Fitz is always asleep during that time, so he is never one of the guards on duty. The guards leave us alone, so we don't get 'handed' over to them. Plus Fitz is the only one of them that feels like they have the authority to do that. These guards answer to Fitz so they are scared to try still."

"How long have these guards been here, that you've noticed?" I asked.

"Fitz has been here since Eli was brought in. He actually was the one to kidnap him, which is why they have a strained relationship, if you want to call it that." Adam began.

"Ha." I chuckled. "I'd say Eli and Fitz would kill each other if they could."

"Most likely. But Asher likes Eli. He believes that he can train him to be a guard eventually, so Fitz can't do anything to him, or he'll get on Asher's bad side. You never want to get on Asher's bad side." Adam warned shaking his head.

"What would that mean?" I prompted.

"Death." Adam said. "The other guards have come and gone. These particular ones have been doing this job for about six months or so. They are interchangeable, as long as Asher trusts them. Some got 'promoted', while others messed up and got themselves killed."

"How badly do you have to mess up, that they would kill you?" I asked. It didn't make any sense. "Guards, I'd assume, would be hard to come by."

"It's really not that hard to find new ones if you are Asher Shostak. He's pretty well known on the black market. A lot of people want to work with him, so to get on his good side; they would send their best employees. Ergo, guards. And to be killed for a screw up? The latest kill was because the guy got caught on camera when he was kidnapping someone. It was a high profile neighborhood, and they got caught on home surveillance footage. Asher had the guy killed because he didn't want the guard to get caught and questioned. This business is all about being discreet."

"Yeah; because no one would want an amazing business like this to get shut down." I sighed.

"Right?" Adam joked. We both chuckled.

"What's so funny?" Alli muttered, she was sitting up.

"Nothing." I sighed. There goes my happy mood. Adam looked uncomfortable.

"If you are waiting for an apology, you aren't going to get one." Alli stated.

"I know that. Which is why I'm not waiting for it." I glanced at her, but didn't give her my full attention.

"Wow. Clare. A few days in this place and you became a bitch." Alli sneered.

"Go to hell." I exhaled.

"Oh. I'm already there. It just sucks that I'm stuck with you." Alli growled.

"Well. It's not like it's any better for me." I replied.

"Ignore her. She's not worth it." Adam tried.

"I know. I know." I breathed.

I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, and turned to glance over at Alli. Bianca had walked over to her.

"Hi. You're Alli, right?" Bianca asked. "I'm Bianca."

"Yeah. Hi." She replied.

"Bianca. Back off." Adam growled.

"I'm not hurting anyone. You and Eli can keep Clare. She's too 'holier than thou' for me. But since you've shunned Alli, I figured I could help her through this." Bianca stated. Her eyes were directed to us, so Alli didn't see the hatred she held towards us. "Alli why don't you come sit over here with us. I promise we won't shun you."

"Alli. Don't do this." I pleaded. "She's not who you think she is. She's not nice."

"Oh. And you are?" Alli asked. "I'll take you up on that offer, Bianca."

"Oh my god. Fine! Alli! Go! I don't give two shits anymore! Go hang out with the assholes who beat me up and tried to rape me! Fine! I don't care anymore! I don't fucking care!" I snapped. Only Alli could make me swear. She just gets me so mad sometimes.

"Clare. You probably asked for it." Alli waved me off.

"I'm done, Alli! Don't come crying back to me! I'm done!" I growled.

"Whatever." Alli stated, following Bianca over to a group by the door. She sat down between Bianca and Drew, and they all started chatting.

Adam tried the rest of the time waiting for Eli, which wasn't long, trying to cheer me up. Frankly, there wasn't anything to be cheered up. Alli was the reason of most of my pain in the past few years. Maybe it was time we went our separate ways. All I knew was that I was done with Alli Bhandari.
