Hey guys. I really didn't want to leave you with that little bit of a chapter. I wasn't happy with it and it didn't satisfy me. I will probably go back and edit it sometime before I finish this story. I will let you guys know whenever I do too. I think I will leave it for now, and continue on though. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. It's pretty much a filler chapter. I felt like the way I set it up was needed and any questions you may have will definitely be answered soon. I just didn't want to pack it all in, in one chapter. Anyways, as always, Read and Review!

Clare's POV

As I awoke, I noticed something different immediately. It was comfortable. I wasn't lying on the cement floor of the room. I wasn't even lying on one of those mattresses in the placement rooms. This was really comfortable. The beeping was what confirm that I wasn't there.

"Clare?" My eyes snapped open at the sound of the voice.

"Jake?" I gasped. He was sitting next to my bed.

"Hey." He smiled, taking my hand. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay." I stated, assessing my injuries. I realized I felt fine, but I realized that my head was wrapped in a bandage. "What happened? How'd I get here?"

"What's the last thing you remember?" He asked.

"Where's Eli?" I asked.

"Eli?" Jake looked confused. "Oh. The guy who brought you here? He and that other guy have been detained for questioning by the police."

"What? Adam's here too? I need to talk with them." I stated, trying to get out of the bed.

"Clare. No. You can't move." He pleaded.

"I need to make sure they are okay." I continued. "I need to see them."

"Clare. Stop." Jake kept me from getting up. "I'll talk with the police. I'll ask if they can be brought here after they are done with the questioning. Okay?"

"Okay." I sighed, defeatedly.

"I'm going to go get Mom and Dad." He stated, standing up. "I'm also going to go let the doctor know you are awake."

"Okay." I sighed again.

I waited for Jake to come back but the doctor beat him to it.

"Clare?" She asked as she entered. "Oh good. You are awake. Your brother told me you were but I wasn't sure if you would fall back asleep."

"Nope. I'm awake." I gave a small smile.

"My name is Dr. Hatzilakos. Since I have you, I was wondering if you have any questions or things to mention before your parents return?" She asked.

"How long have I been here?" I began.

"Almost twenty-six hours." She replied.

"Is everything I say to you confidential?" I asked.

"If you don't want me to tell your family, I won't." She smiled.

"Well. Umm." I began. "I really don't want my family to know that I was raped." I looked down at my hands while speaking. Unable to look up at her.

"How long ago?" She asked, walking forward.

"About two weeks?" I replied. "I think."

"If you would like, I can give you a pregnancy test. Just to be on the safe side. I'll do the blood work and give you the results as soon as possible." She explained. "But I think you should tell your parents. So you can talk to someone about it."

"I was raped before. I know the speech. I have a therapist for it. They know about that one, but I don't want to have them worry anymore than they already will." I stated.

"I'm sorry to hear that." She gave me a sad smile this time. "I'll send a nurse in right away for the blood work."

I nodded and watched her leave, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Jake returned a few moments later, with Darcy. She immediately pulled me into a tight hug, and she didn't speak until she released me.

"How are you?" She asked sitting down in a chair on the opposite side of Jake's seat.

"I'm okay." I shrugged. I turned to Jake as he sat down. "Where are Mom and Dad?"

"Talking with the doctor for a moment. They'll be right in." He replied. "I also spoke with a police officer. Adam, I think. Will only be about ten more minutes but he has to go get an x-ray for possible broken bones and fractures. So he won't be around for about an hour. Eli, however, is going to be another thirty minutes or so, but after that you can see him."

I nodded, and laid back against the pillow. I was so close to seeing both of them. I needed to. This whole thing is so surreal and I won't believe that they are okay, and that we are safe until I see both of them.

I turned and looked at the door, as my mom came through, followed by my dad.

"Clare, honey." My mom walked over and hugged me tightly. "I'm so glad you are okay."

I sat there for the next twenty minutes, listening to my parents sob and bicker on and off. It was slowly driving me insane. They were acting just like before. Bickering in front of us kids but then getting mad at each other for bickering in front of us.

Eventually, Jake convinced them to leave and go for coffee, leaving Darcy, Jake and I. Which I was perfectly okay with. We chatted for awhile after that and the nurse came and took my blood during that time. I was on edge for the results and I don't think I was going to relax about them until I knew for sure whether I was pregnant or not.

"Clare?" I looked up to see Eli standing in the doorway. My heart leapt just hearing his voice, but when I realized that he was okay, my stomach stopped doing back flips.

"Darcy and I will go meet up with Mom and Dad, to see if they calmed down." Jake stated, standing up and touching my shoulder. I smiled at them before they left the room.

"I'm so glad you are okay." I spoke, making Eli smirk.

"Only you would be worried about others when you are the one in the hospital bed." He said as he walked in and sat down on the bed facing me.

"Well, I was kind of freaked to wake up here and have no memory of how I got here or if you and Adam were okay. It scared me. A lot." I explained.

"I'm sorry. I spent a lot of time with my parents last night and this morning. The police kept irritating me about talking with them, so I figured I'd get it over with today." He said, brushing a loose curl behind my ear.

"Your parents are here?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah. They flew in last night around nine." He stated. "It was really awkward. They don't treat me the same and it's weird now that I am older and have dealt with everything. Adam's parents are here too. They got in about midnight."

"He's okay, right? There won't be any surprises when I see him?" I asked to make sure.

"Well, he's missing his leg and four fingers, but other than that he's the same." He smirked.

"Don't play mind tricks with the unstable girl. I might just go truly crazy." I retorted, pushing him a little.

"Adam's perfectly fine. Don't worry." He smirked again. "We were both more worried about you though. You scared us back there."

"I was scared too. K.C. terrified me. I thought I was going to die." I shuddered. I didn't tell my family that I remembered what happened before I went unconscious because I didn't want them knowing the details.

Eli slid forward, closer to me, and pulled me upright and into a hug. He smoothed out my hair with his hand and I focused on calming my breathing.

"It's okay. They won't get you again. I won't let it happen." He reassured.

"You don't know that. They could find me. They could kill me if they don't want me tell anyone about what happened." I argued.

"I do. They won't get you. I promise you that. I got you out didn't I? I'll make sure you don't go back." He stated, leaning back to look in my eyes. "You trust me don't you?"

"Of course I do." I replied.

"Then you have nothing to worry about." He continued. "Well, except for the fact that you are missing a big chunk of hair." He smirked.

"What?" I startled, reaching around to touch the spot where the bandage is. Realizing that the bandage was covering a spot the size of my palm, and there wasn't any hair on it. Just around it. "Oh you have got to be kidding me." I sighed.

"It'll be okay. The rest of your hair covers it, and it'll grow back." He smiled teasingly.

"Yeah, well you aren't the one who has to walk around with it for months before it looks normal again." I retorted.

"True. However, if we are going to be together than you'll have to get used to it. I'm not going let my girlfriend hide for months on end because of a hair mishap." He smirked, sounding teasingly matter of fact.

"Girlfriend?" I asked smiling. "That has a nice ring to it."

"I thought so." He leaned in and kissed me sweetly. We broke the kiss, before he kissed my cheek and pulled me into a hug. "I'm really happy you are okay. I don't know what I would do without you Clare."

"I know. I don't know what I would do without you either." I breathed into his shoulder.
